Hi everyone,
My name's Julie, I'm 30, 5'3 and 118 lbs. I used to weigh 110 lbs for a long time when I was living in my hometown, which is in Montreal, Quebec. But as soon as I moved to Edmonton, Alberta, I gained like 30-40 lbs in only one year! I blame that on the guy I dated (and later married, stupid me) who had no concept of healthy eating and excercise, lol.
Anyways, I managed to go back down to 118 lbs after 3 long years and divorcing that loser, lol. But I still want to be back at my normal 110 and hoping to be able to do it now that I've joined this site.
Ismile67, this is a great group! Thanks for creating it. :)
Hi Everyone;
My name is Lori-Ann, I'm 44, 5'1" and I weigh 117 lbs. This is my heaviest non-pregnant weight and I have heard that the weight creeps up the older you get. So I want to keep things under control now and lose about 7 lbs, 110 is my comfort weight. I'm married, have two boys, one 19 and the other is 19, 2 chocolate labs and a cat.
I've tried the GI Diet and the Atkins diet. I lost a few pounds off each diet plan but I need support. My husband is great, but he doesn't need to watch what he eats so I do get some grief about dieting. Anyways, I'm looking forward to losing the weight, making new friends and learning different diets and dieting advice.
Hallooo!
I'm Rosie, and at 5'1" and 112 lbs, I'd just like to get back down to 105 (where I was a year ago). I've been walking about two and a half miles a day (which, with my schedule, is an accomplishment), but I've had some recent problems with bingeing. I'm hoping to find the support I need to move past it and get back into my comfort range!
Hi everyone,
My name is Dana, I'm 18, 5'4' and 110 pounds. I just came to college and I feel like I am eating every dessert in sight. I used to be so good at watching what I ate, but lately, I cannot stop binge eating. I am terrified at gaining weight in college. At the beginning of the school year, I was going to the gym 3-4 times a week but now I can't seem to find the time with all of the work I have. I would like to loose about 6 pounds an I'm hoping this will help :) thanks!
Hi all,
My name is Sigi. Am 29, 161cm and 54kg and trying to shift the last 6kg and losing motivation. I was going to the gym but have totally flaked out so thought I would join up to try and give myself more motivation.
I have never been particularly a "gym" person and have joined twice in the past but never went so am trying to be determined to get back on the horse and get a routine in my life.
The hardest steps are the first ones... so day 1 ... here it goes!
:-)
Hey :-)
I'm Morgen, 23 years old, 169cms and 70kg. Recently joined a gym, got a personal trainer, and have stopped going to the gym because of my own laziness :-( Was basically not seeing ANY results and just feeling the pain after a month so I gave up.
I eat shocking foods daily i.e. McDonalds for breakfast everyday, carb-loaded meals at 9.30pm at night, various Take Aways ALL THE TIME and I'm a little unsure as to what I should be eating to try and shift some of my excess weight!
I work in an office so snack a lot!
I'm hoping that once I start eating better, I'll go back to the gym!!
Thanks!
Hello everyone! ![]()
1. History with weight loss: I started healthy living (counting and exercising) in December '07. I went from 135 to 115. It took me around 5 to 6 months. I began maintaining this summer. I have never done weights though, or any type of building muscle exercises. I am a "skinny fat" now at around 117. I would like to lose the excess fat, which is around 7 lbs., to maintain at 110. I have added strength training to my program and I love the results so far.
2. History with Calorie Count: been here almost a year :)
3. Reason for joining this group: community help, suggestions
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a 20 year old sophomore in college and Biology/Pre-Pharm major. School is pretty much my life and I do everything I can to make good grades. I have one brother and 9 cats!! I love them! haha I have a boyfriend of a year and a half who I am going to marry one day! Once im older you know...I love to workout, anything to do with music, and to just be with my friends!
You can do it, paramedicgirl! I know it's tough, especially given your line of work. I worked as an EMT in a busy college city for almost 2 years; it's SO hard to not just run into a fast-food place when you're on shift. Even if you bring something to eat, there's no telling you'll get back to your station to get it. I found myself dropping meal-supplement bars in my uniform pockets or inside the ambo to have as "emergency rations".
Do you work closely with a fire crew? Maybe you could join them next time they go to the gym or play frisbee or whatever it is they do for exercise while on shift. That worked well for me when I could swing it.
Hello everyone,
I am sure most of you can relate to this story. When I was in highschool I was think, muscular, and toned. Now I am so busy with work and college that I have "let myself go". I am not "overweight" but I would like to get my body back in shape and lose a few uneeded pounds. I joined this group because I know that it is easier to stick with goals when you have a support group.
I have a really hard time dieting because I am the pickiest eater ever. I love pasta and thats mostly what I eat. I am not too fond of salads but I try my best to have a few for lunch during the week.
Hey,
I am new to Calorie Count but figured I would try it out since I have been counting my calories for years. I am trying to lose 10lbs because I have rencently gained some weight and want to go back to 120lbs that I was a year and a half ago. Working out isn't my problem, it's my eating habits that I need to work on. I tend to eat when I am bored and stressed and want that to change. I dont want to be that emotional eater any more and I know that will take alot of time but i fgured this would be a good place to start. I am also a student and have a hard time sitting down and eating 3 good meals a day because of my busy schedule. Anyways, I am up for any advice out there and am willing to give advice to others as well!!
Hi!
I'm new to CC as of today. I'm looking to loose 10 pounds before my wedding in July. I have a bit of time but with the Holiday's coming up I need all the help I can get to stay on track. I've been loosing weight for the past 2 years by training for half marathons. It's great motivation to eat healthy and stay moving but when I'm not training I eat and drink whatever I want.
I'm 27 years old 5"6" and 135 pounds. I ready to be my fittest at 125 pounds!
hi all,
I am new to CC as per today. I'm 5ft3inc and 141lbs. i started to work out since july and lost around 10lbs, which really motivate me to keep going. I used to weigh 120lbs but gaineda lot of weight after started working. i would love to shed those excess pounds to get back in shape. :)
1. History with weight loss: I have gained 8 lbs since I had surgery, in January. I was inactive, for 6 weeks, and that threw me off.
2. History with Calorie Count:Just joined.
3. Reason for joining this group:I'm 5'3". I'm 116lbs, and I'd like to be 110. I know I'm still in the "normal range", but since I'm small framed, I look heaver than I am.
4.I have 2 kids, and stay at home. I am vegetarian, and exercize at least, 3 times a week. I'm horrible at keeping track of my calories, because I get overwhelmed, but I know it's important. I don't eat junk food, but I think I overeat with healthy foods, and then justify it.
Hi! I'm just trying to lose about 10 lbs and get back to where I feel comfortable (around 140).
I've been working out pretty consistently for the past month; about 3 days a week I go to the gym where I usually run a mile, do about 100 crunches, and use a cross-trainer machine for about 30 minutes at a moderate level. Recently I've added doing squats (with no weight) and I just bought a pilates DVD that I've used a few times between gym days.
I decided to join because I have Type I Diabetes and wear an insulin pump. I have always had difficulty keeping my blood sugar levels in a good range and I finally decided it was time to do something about it. I started using this website to find out the amount of carbs in the fast food I eat in order to gauge my insulin doses after meals. I tried keeping a log on my own, but after a couple of weeks of use, I decided it would be more effective to record my information online; plus, this way I can print everything out for my nutritionist.
I'm excited to be a part of this community and hope that it will motivate me to lose the weight I want and help control my blood sugar levels. :)
Hi,
I have joined this group because at 47 I find that I am gaining weight and feeling very uncomfortable in my clothes. I need to feel better and start eating right and exercising. I have never been consistent with excercising and dieting. I have very little will power. I actually hate to exercise but know that I need to change that and find a way to enjoy exercise.
I am currently a senior working on my psychology degree and I work full time as a judicial advocate with our Police department. I have been with the department for 18 years, 12 of those as a dispatcher and the last 7 years as an advocate contacting and working with victims of crime.
I find that with work and school stress is a very active part of my life and exercise seems to curb that but getting my butt going is more difficult.
I am hoping that having support will help me reach my goals.

Just like you, I am 47 (I turn 48 next month) and I have been "skinny" most of my life. I am gaining weight and not feeling comfortable in my clothes. My energy level has gone down and I do not have the strength in my arms and legs that I used to have. People at work just laugh at me when I feel fat and need to loose weight. I am 5' 5" and I am currently at 135 to 138 lbs * I fluctuate between the two. I do not like the "belly" that I have aquired over the last couple of years and want to get it off.
Good luck to you and I will give you all of the support that I can.
My name is Dana
welcome paramedic girl.
I too am in the medical field, RN. I know that it is important to maintain health. I too was injured and derailed a bit from my regular exercise routine. I injured my back lifting patients, standing long hours and teaching aerobics. Then I had problems with my foot, again another set-back. But, I kept going. My thought was it's gonna hurt anyway, so I may as well keep moving. It is so much harder to start back up again after taking such a long break. What you have to do is modify your exercises. Since I can no lonrger run outside on trails, I pretend I am running while I am on the elliptical. I know having a rib injury is painful and you need that lung to expand without pain, so you might have to do light weight training. The important thing is to never stop moving. We will get throught this healty and stronger
Hi,
I am 23 and as I know it is natural, put on about 20lbs since I was 19. I try not to get to down on it, however when you are used to being a certain way your whole life, it is hard to accept change. Therefore I joined to try and get back to a place where I feel comfortable in my clothes. I am 5'3 and weigh about 125. I have a very small frame and all the weight seems to have settled around my waist.
I am having a hard time eating right and excersising, because this is the first time I have tried. I recently got married and, Of course, My husband doesnt care about eating right, therefore it makes it VERY hard for me to do so. I have noticed when I do excersise and eat well, I have more energy and better moods. I hope that in joining this site, I will be able to accomplish my goal and loose 10lbs.
Hi All
I'm new and thought I'd pop my head in and say hello ![]()
I'm looking to loose approx 7kilos. I'm 28 and when I started my job 18 months ago I weighed in at 60kilos now I'm up to 67kg. Which is actually still quite ok for my height (I'm 173cm) but I am slowly nolonger happy with my appearance.
I think it comes from a mulitple of things-the weight I've gained isn't healthy mass- it's because I've gotten lazy. I nolonger excercise- It's like this devils circuit... I'm tired so I don't excercise... I don't excercise... so I don't get enough fresh air and sun and enery... so I'm always tired...
I've also become lazy in my eating habits and I want to change that back again to the "healthy" me!
I really don't like this stressed, lazy, unhealthy me I am becoming- so the time has come to take the horse by the reigns and do something about it!
So I am here to get a grip on my life again. Losing the weight is my second priority- I want to change my habits back to doing excersice and eating right and with that tone my body again... that way I'll lose the weight too!
Right?
Hi, I am a busy mom of 2, working full time in front of a computer. I am 5'5" and 138 lbs. My goal is to weigh 128. I am working out 4-5 times per week but I have trouble with my diet, everyday after 5pm I am desperate for food, even though I eat well during the day.
I started to really workout in July 2008 when I was 148 lbs. I am struggling with these last 10 pounds to lose. I need to find a nutrition program that works. I think I am doing good with exercise, especially because I bought a heart rate monitor that keep me motivated and I hired a personal trainer, now my problem is FOOD.
