And now just go ahead and make that first post!
I am one of those people who hates to get on the scale. The only time I truly know my weight is when I go to the doctors. Recently I went and I weighed in at 120lbs!!! Not the heaviest I have been, but I am 4'11, 27, with no children, small frame.
My ideal weight would be 110. My job requires me to travel a lot therefore I hardly ever get a chance to cook and am always eating out. I have moments when I am really focused and go to the gym 2 times a week and then I get lazy.
I have not been to the gym in the past 2 weeks and I have no excuse. I am in front of a computer and on my butt all day at work and tend to do the same once I walk in the house from work. So basically, I am not that active.
My weakness are carbs. I love bread and cakes.
I joined this sight in hope that 1. I can become a healthier eater 2. Lose these 10 pound and learn how to maintaine it 3. Get rid of the belly fat 4. Support and motivation from others who understand what I am going through
1. History with weight loss: My sophomore year of high school, I go on the scale and saw that I weighed 147 pounds. That was high for me being 5'7 at the time. I then went on a journey to lose the extra weight. I yo-yo dieted for awhile and ended up in cycle of binges, purges, extreme restriction and just not caring at times. Sometimes I would get on the scale 10 times a day.. But now I want to be healthy and happy. I (think) I weigh 125 now, as I look as thin if not thinner than I remember looking when weighed 125. Im 5'8 now, and I know that I am in a healthy range, but I would like to be 115. I want to get there healthfully.
2. History with Calorie Count: I just joined. I had been a member of what would be considered a pro-ana website...and my boyfriend found the site from my history and forbid me to go there ever again. He also is why I am trying to eat healthier and eat more.
3. Reason for joining this group: I want to lose 10 pounds!
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests.. Ballet dancer, but earning my money by working as the receptionist at a spa. For the long run Im thinking of teaching dance, or nutrition...or who knows! Im only 19 so Ive got time...
Hi,
I'm about to turn 31 years old and ever since i turned 30 it seems like the dieting and exercising isn't doing it for me anymore, i weight 127 right now, but most of the fat is on the same area (my belly, love handles, hips and tights). So, my ideal weight is from 115 (lowest) 118. Never had trouble losing weight fast and gaining muscle.
I feel very dismotivated lately because I've been dieting hardcore and exercising after i had a liposuction done in these problem areas in the beginning of June 2008.
The doctor sucked 2 kilos out of me and i guess i didn't follow through with diet and exercise right after the surgery but i've been really good for the past month and so far i lost a pound a half while anybody else i know lost 10 or more pounds from doing the exact same exercises and diet in the same period of time...
Basically because i didn't exercise and dieted on July, Sept & part of October I gained more body fat than before the surgery, because i had these skinny jeans that used to fit me fine before the surgery and now they just won't fit. And I went to see the doctor last week and he said i'm fat because all the swelling is gone from the surgery by now :(
I'm extremely sensitive to caffeine therefore i can't take none of these diet pills with guarana e green tea, it elevates my heart rate a lot, although i don't have any cardiac complications normally. I did all kinds of exams and my heart is fine.
This is my last chance before going back to surgery, i guess i'll have to suck all that fat out again...
Please help!
Thanks,
Ana
Hi, I'm 21 years old and 5'4 and my weight always fluctuates. I'm regularly 112 pounds, but when I come to school I gain 5 pounds and when I'm on vacation I drop to 105. I've had some control issues with eating disorders, but they only come up when I'm heavier. In the summer my body forgets about them. I hate to work out, which means I have to restrict my calories to less than 800 per day if I want to make any progress at all. I've lost two pounds in the last week, but am miserable because I'm hungry all the time and still look bloated. I guess I joined this group for support.
Paramedic girl,
There are always going to be people watchign and you should make that your motivation. I was a runner and am now tryign to get back in to my running.its winter so I am doign treadmills alot. When you know there are people around you that helps me keep goign because I do not want people to think I can not run or do a particular exercise. Everytime I get a person on the tradmill next to me it becomes a race to see if I can outlast the person or do better than the person.
Also,drink loads of water.
Hope my advise helps.
Hey everyone-
1. C.W. 121 HISTORY: tends to fluctuate since college started. For the past two years 115-123, but I got up to 149 my freshman year
2. Just happened to see it on-line by chance. Loved the idea. Gave it a chance-
3. It's not that I'm overweight, but I want to finally feel strong and healthy again. I miss eating organic and exercising daily. Much healthier in highschool and I want to get back on the health nut band wagon, but the bf and college lifestyle have hindered my motivation...
4.I'm an environmental studies maj. econ/span min. used to play lacrosse swim. liked rockclimbing but have been pretty lazy- working and school full time so I also usually become pretty lazy during my time off. need to make workouts a priority once again. weakness for beer (work at a pizza restraunt that serves micro ;) )
Hello Everyone
I am a 28 year old stay at home mother of one energetic 2 year old (really he is a double for the energizer bunny) and a returning CC member. My story goes like this I lost 111 lbs went from 238 lbs to 127 lbs on my own and then found this site which was great for my weight maintenance. I maintained my maintenance for a year and a half, then got distracted from my goal and went back to my old habits. Over the past few months I have gained 8 lbs back. I feel horrible, my pants don't fit (I even split the butt out of one pair). I know I am not overweight but I promised myself that I would not become a statistic when I finally lost the weight. I made a goal not to gain my weight back. Now this is just 8 lbs but 8 lbs can turn into 50 lbs if you let it. The rut I let myself get back into includes: Pizza, Ice Cream, Big Macs, and French Fries; those are only my favorites not to mention all the diet sodas and no water. The past few days I have been doing pretty well and already have lost 2 lbs which I am assuming was all water weight. I am joining this group for extra support after falling off the CC wagon and the Weight Maintenance wagon I see how important this website really is for maintaining a healthy lifestyle!!!
Hi Everyone,
I am 27 yrs old and newly married (it's been just over 3 months now :). I love my husband, but I hate the fact that I've gained 10 pounds over the course of our 3 yr relationship! I am 5'3. When we first met, I weighed 117 pounds, and now I am up to 127. He doesn't mind (he actually prefers curvy women), but I just don't feel like myself.
A big part of the problem is portion control. Living with him the last year has thrown my sense of what and how much I eat (he is 6'2" and 220 pounds, so his needs are very different). Also, I used to walk 2 miles every day to school, and now I drive to work. Finally, I have certain foods that I am totally addicted to. These foods are popcorn and mint chocolate chip icecream. I know it's weird, but I craaave these foods. And when I eat them, I cannot maintain any control. I'm NOT like this with any other food.
So far, I have started eating pre-packaged things (mainly greek yogurt) for lunch, so I can regain my sense of normal portions. I also joined a women's gym and I go religiously 3X/week. I try to do the classes, but if I cant find one that fits my schedule, I'll just jog on the treadmill for 30 minutes. (jogging and bickram yoga are my two fav forms of excersise.)
My goal is to (at least) get down to 120 pounds and do so in a healthy, maintainable way. I'd also like to get to the gym 4-5 times/week instead of just 3.
That's my story. Thanks!
hi everyone!
so i am living in u.s. since last year, i come from brazil, since i came i have gain weight, i used to be 110 pounds, and i have 5.2 feet. now i am with 120, and i am freaking out, i am trying to loose it, but its hard, i try to eat less, but i am always starvingl, the food here is very differente
what should i do?
hello,
i just recently graduated college and got a job. now that i spend all of my time sitting on my butt, i have been having many consuming fears about gaining a lot of weight. i did gain about 10 pounds over the course of college and would love to get back to my high school weight (although i don't know if this is possible). i played water polo, ran cross country, and just generally exercised about 3 hours per day in high school. while i did not work out religiously at university, i did walk up and down hills to and from class, took yoga classes, and went to the gym sporadically. recently, i joined 24hr fitness and have been exercising 3-5 times per week for 30-60 minutes. i have always been a pretty health conscious eater, have gone back and forth with vegetarianism (currently am on), and pride myself in actually getting the recommended daily amount of water :).
my reasons for joining calorie count are twofold. one, to change my distorted vision of how much i actually eat and two, to hopefully lose weight (6-10 lbs). i'd love to be as tiny as i was in high school, but will settle with seeing results (toning) from my regular workouts and healthy diet. weight is just a number, right?
my interests include cooking whole foods (trying to use as little packaged foods as possible), eating out, food shopping (farmers markets and grocery stores are my haven), my dog, my boyfriend, reading, working out and trying to be fit!
Hi Deinhorn,
Sounds like we have similar situations. I'm 34 and when I met my husband I was about 117 and now am at 123...trying to lose those pesky 6 lbs!
As far as portion control, I started putting my dinner on a salad plate instead of a large plate and that helps...still looks like a full plate but is much less calories/fat.
I also started buying more healthy snacks that I can just grab and munch on..like baby carrots and almonds, instead of cookies.
My addiction is cheese...I love to slice a hunk of sharp cheddar... I bought the low fat version and shaved a few calories so I dont feel so guilty. :)
Good luck!
Laura
Hi everyone,
Ive just turned 16.
I weigh 105 pounds and Im 5 ft 5 but I lost about a stone and a half last year but then everyone at school started to make a fuss so I had to gain some of it back :(
I am always on some form of diet and however many crash diets I go on I always end up as staying at the same weight.
eg- a few weeks ago I lost 9 pounds in a week but have gained most of it back now because my teachers started to notice and my family got involved.
Anyways, I would love to lose another 10 pounds.
XXXXXXXXX
Hi, I'm Sara
I joined calorie count this week. I found it on-line when I was looking for the amount of calories in a donut! I had been a bit bad that morning.
I have recently gained about 8 pounds that I would like to try to take back off and then maintain.
I love to work out, and I have been to busy to do that recently. So, I am hoping that your stories will help me get motivated!
Hello everyone! This is my very first post on calorie count but I've read through some topics in the forum and I think I'm really going to like it here. Here's a little bit about me:
1. History with weight loss: I guess I've been worried about my weight since I was 16, which is kind of sad, thinking back now. I was slightly overweight for 6 years. I've tried loads and loads of diets but exercise never appealed to me much. I did dance hip hop for a couple of years but my chocolate addiction didn't let that show any effect.
Last summer, I had to travel a whole month across Europe because of a job (journalist), and had no time or money to eat. Also, I was forced to walk around (not exercise, not run, just walk) for about 5 to 7 hours a day! That really made me slim down. I dropped 10 pounds just doing that job and another 8 pounds eating healthy and starting to work out at the gym - mostly because of my boyfriend who's been my greatest support ever since.
Now I've reached the point where I want to drop those last 10 pounds which, I'm told, are the hardest. Christmas is not the best time to lose weight but I hope this group will help a little in keeping motivation up. :)
2. History with Calorie Count: I'm completely new here. Joined today and like I said, this is the first thing I'm actively doing here.
3. Reason for joining this group: According to the group name, I expect to find likeminded people who are also looking to lose 10 pounds.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests... I'm a student of interpreting and translation (thus the fairly acceptable English
) and I like to do small jobs for a local newspaper every once in a while. I have three cats who try my nerves very hard but whom I love to death anyways. There's not much to say about my family but I have a fantastic boyfriend (my first... yes I know that's weird at 22) who has not only made my life an adventure but who is also my prime supporter in my weight loss plans - even though he says all the right things perfect boyfriends are required to say (e.g. I like you just the way you are. Even if you gained 100 lbs I'd still be with you, etc.). Still, he keeps me motivated most of the time.
My hobbies are above all reading. Anything, really. Except for romance. I also enjoy the usual things like going to the movies, collecting DVDs, dancing, working out, parying, spending quality time with friends and the boyfriend. I suppose expect for my dislike of too much romance and my very long single status I'm a pretty regular girl.
hi every one!
im audrey, just joined the group, im hoping the new year will bring me luck with the last 10 pounds i want to lose.
ive already lost 10 pounds before christmas, i would LOVE to go back to 115. but it seems so impossible.
it was ver very hard to los the 10 pounds i did. im happy to be at 130, from 140 but i honestly dont see too much of a differnce...
my history with calorie count:
well ive been involved with this site for nearly 2 years now!( i cant believe that being bored at work for this long has got me dedicated to the site) i post some stuff sometimes about the struggles of losing weight, and how i really am not the same as everyone else wen they say you can hold yourself over with hand ful of almonds. that doesnt work for me, or really anyone i know.
reason for joinging this group is well, the new year im going to vacation in hongkong! and las vegas this summer and my 21st birthday i wanna look dam* sexy in a bikini :D(and for my boyfriend)
interesting things about myself... WELL im in the airforce, stationed at wright patterson afb. in basic the 8 weeks i was in, i gained about 25 pounds... only becaus ei had no control of wen and what i could eat. i use dto be a cross country and track runner in highschool for 4 years, and was never completely happy about my weight until i got to a size 0. which to me is very very small, and unrealistic, i had an eating disorder then. that all stoped wen i went to basic and gained alot of wieght. ever since then its been a battle with my wieght, i went form a 104- a 140.
i work out daily, cardio and weights. 5-6 days a week.
family life: well let me tell you that it is IMPOSSIBLE to be thin and have your mother being the best cook in the WORLD. Im half philipino, and i didint inherit the abnormaly thin perfect body no matter HOW much you eat like the normal philipino ( haha) she makes the most delicious food almost everyday she would make a giant philipino dish and we would just keep eatin and eating until the buttons on our pants flew off. there is no such thing and controling yourself wen you are in my house. which is why in highschool i joined swim team and cross country and track year round.
im so excited to be happy with my weight again and have that self confidence again and fit in with the girls i work with, and TRUST me they are all perfect, i work in abercrombie and fitch, i guess i just wantto be like them. i hope we all lose wat we want.
may CC be with you!
;p
Now 126...goal 120 by the end of january and sustain it. My best friend's wedding is in april and if i have to wear the dress she picked, well, i atleast want it to fit well.
my roommates are so unhealthy and don't support my dieting. so i need a little support from someone.
when i try i'm very healty, but when i'm not - well, its bad. I used to have an eating disorder so if i even mention lossing a few pounds, people freak out on me. I've been trying to loss weight for a couple of months now and i just can't seem to stick with it.
But this is my promise to me - i'm going to do this for me, for those wedding pictures, for my favorite pair of jeans, for that cute boy. nothing is going to stop me this time.
Hi,
1)I'm 18 and I've tried lots of times to lose those 10 pounds. However when everything goes the way it should something happens, I get disappointed and I turn into food.
So setimberlake I have to say I understand cause in 3 months or so I'll baptize a baby and I want to wear a dress and not be ashamed of my thighs
2)I just learned about calorie count while searching sites
3)Well I joined it because I want to lose 10 pounds and the idea of other people going through pretty much what I am is really comforting!
4)I am a senior in High school which means that I'm always anxious, and I must say it doesn't help when you want to lose weight.
That's all for now!
hi everyone--
i'm a 52 yr. old woman and have been slim for most of my life. over the years i've gained and lost (111-175 lbs.) due to cancer treatments, then was on medications that kept me very slender. i'm off of those now and my "food as drug of choice" shows more in my current weight of 132 lbs.
i've worked hard over the years to work on the emotional triggers to my eating but i still find myself eating out of boredom when i'm clearly not hungry. now it's winter and i'm seeing how easy it is to eat during the long dark hours. i don't like doing this and want to heal it and i'd love to hear whatever strategies have worked for others. thanks!
Hello fellow caloriecounters :)
-I'm 18, 5'3.5, and currently weighing 108lbs. I used to walk everywhere and eat healthy all the time.
-I used to weigh 100lbs, but the sudden stress of school and life has led me to eat a lot even when I'm not hungry. Also, my activity level has gone done to about sitting on my butt all day long. Lol...
- I have noticed a change in energy level and would like to get to the gym and perhaps tone up and also become healthier.
- I stumbled upon this group and thought it's a great idea to keep track of my daily routines.
Here's to loosing 10 lbs and be done with it!
hi all. I'm a bit of a binge eater at the moment. I have struggled with food in one way or another for years and I am terriffied of my weight going back up. It feels like one step forward, ten steps back. I'm scared and I want my body back before it gets out of hand again.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
