1. History with weight loss: In 2003 I reached my goal of 149 but veryshortly after that I gained the weight back. I was working out 5-6 days a week adn couldn't keep up the schedule!
2. History with Calorie Count: I joined July 25th, 2008
3. Reason for joining this group: The site tells me that I will reach my goal by Dec. 31st and that's what I was shooting for!
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
I am a Lab Tech, right now. I have ben offered apromotion but can't transfer until we get someone hierd for my position and I train them for what I currently do. When I get my promotion I will be a computation medicinal chemist for the biopharmaceutical company in which I am currently emplyeed.
I am married with one son, 8, and two cute and adorable cats thatI think my son is allergic to.
I love to watch movies and sit coms. Yoga would be my workout of choice but I have to add aerobics and pilates in there somewhere to burn calories. I HATE running or anything that gets me out of breath. I want to by some weights so I can do some strength training. I need to get those lean muscles on my arms!
I started my diet because I want to have a healthier life style. I don't want to crave fast food and junk food all the time. Since starting my diet I can say that I have not gotten anything out of the snack machine like I did in the past! Those caky treats have an excess of 500 calories a piece and I could eat two a day during work.
1. History with weight loss:
I didn't have any problems with weight before I reached my 30's. Then I slowly started putting it on. Occasionally I would do things to loose weight and it came off easily. But I think I only counted calories once before in my life and it was to loose about 10 lbs. But it was so long ago, it's hard to remember.
When I reached my 40's the weight became harder to loose. After peri-menopause it was VERY hard to loose. I would exercise and eat better, loose but gain it all back. Again, I wasn't counting calories but looking back I now think I probably ate too little when I was trying to loose. That's why I gained it all back so fast. My highest weight got to 204 lbs. That was right before I joined CC.
2. History with Calorie Count: I joined May 24, 2008. I've lost 25 lbs so far and I'm still staying disciplined. YEAH!
3. Reason for joining this group:
I feel confident I can reach my goal of 150 lbs by December.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
I'm 53, happily married for 35 years to my high school sweet heart, 3 grown children (all married) and 12 grandchildren. I am a midwife. I delivered 6 of my own grandchildren as well as about 140 or so other babies. Just my husband and I live at home now. We have 2 cats and one hound dog.
Hi! I'm Kristen. I'm excited at the thought of reaching my goal by December!
History with weight loss: Lost a significant amount (22 lbs) three years ago while serving with the Army in Afghanistan. I was super disciplined back then! And motivated, since I wasn't going to see my family or friends for a year. I've slowly put almost all of it (20) back on since then.
I just joined CC to meet friends that have the same goals! I think that's the main difference for me this time versus in Afghanistan. I never had to work out alone--I had the best diet buddy ever! It's tough to do it alone.
My goal weight is 125 for now, although I think I could get down to 120 if I really tried. I don't want to be "skinny". I want to be a badass fitness guru! I just moved to Colorado in February from Indiana (IN=really high obesity rate CO=lowest obesity rate in the US) and I want to rockclimb, mountain climb, kayak, white water raft, cycle, run...all of it! There's so much to do here!
I have a wonderful boyfriend of 3 years that I hope to marry someday! We moved out here together with my two cats, Halloween and Spooky. I work for a nonprofit organization that works with urban youth in Denver (I'm in Americorps). I love it but the pay really sucks! Looking forward to the end of my A*C contract in February so that I can find a better paying job! The Americorps stipend is only five percent above the poverty line--OUCH--but is a much better way to serve your country than the military, in my experienced opinion, LOL. I believe in personal responsibility and service to others. I don't believe in making excuses for myself or anyone else!
Stats: SW: 145 5'4"
CW: 145 (was 143.6 yesterday...suspecting water weight from PMS)
GW: 125
Feel free to add me so we can keep eachother motivated! Good luck everyone!
Hi! I'm Jewely. I am 22 years old. I have always had personal issues with my weight ever since I could remember. The time in my life when I looked terrific, super skinny and toned, I was taking Advocare vitamins cause my mother sold it. I got compliments of people wanted me to model and always hearing how great I looked. Well I got married Sep 2006 and I have gradually gained 25-30 lbs. I also went thru pregnancy and had a baby, but that didn't have much to do with my weight gain because I gained most of it before I got pregnant.
I just started CC about a month ago. I started working out every day (home workout video's) and counting calories, and even got back on Advocare Vitamins, the MNS (Metabolic Nutrition System). I need all the support I can get from people in the same situation as I am. I am not trying to reach my goal of 125-130ish by December... I WILL reach it!
I am a stay at home mother of a 8 mo. old baby Girl, Anjewely Blake. She is the sweetest happiest baby I could ever imagine. I babysit a 2 mo. old baby boy, Jaxon Daniel. So besides running around taking care of the kids I find myself on my butt not doing much. I work out while they are sleeping and that's about it. My husband works so hard so I can stay at home with my lil girl, I love him so much! I'm deeply motivated since we moved to Tulsa in June. It's a great, fun town and we get to go out some weekend nights. I love to go shopping - I know the best thing I can wear out is a great body, and you can't hide extra weight like you can a bad hair cut or acne. I HAS TO COME OFF!

1. History with weight loss: I've always been a bit 'chubby', though when I started university I started jogging, going to fitness classes, the gym, etc, I got to 120lbs (for 5"2) and was very comfortable with this weight and liked how I looked. Then 2 years ago I moved to England, and British food combined with getting married to someone who absolutely ADORE my cooking, combined with stopping going to the gym cause I can't afford it anymore made me put on weight, and I've reached something like 142lbs. In September my husband and I are moving to my country (Canada), so it's the start of a new life and I want to make the most of it by feeling good with myself. There I will also be able to join a gym :)
2. History with Calorie Count: I've joined CC at the end of July, and I've lost 2-3 pounds now... Slowly but surely I guess!

Hi, I'm Louise and I am 63 years old but still feel about 16 I live in the UK in London.
I am here because I want support in losing about 20lbs. They seem to be the same 20lbs I have been trying to lose over the years Although my goal weight is now much higher than it was when I was younger. I weight exactly 13 stone (182 pounds) and would like to be 11 1/2 stone (about 160 pounds). Thatwould be my ideal weight, so you see I'm not greedy.
My problem is that I live alone and have no structure to my day or meals. i just grab whatever there is: Icecream? Have three or four cones for lunch. Bad habits.
I am hoping to learn and get support and talk about these things, as it can be difficult to talk to skinny friends who really don't appreciate the problem.
Hey all,
I joined CC on July 27th and have been trying to lose 7KG, only dropped 1KG over the past month, which sucks! I do not appear to be overweight but my BMI shows it. Plus, I am getting married in December, and already bought my dress when I was 2 KG lighter. I also bought it perfectly fitted with the idea that I want to drop to 63KG by the wedding. (I now weight 69KG). Point is, my dress isn't zipping up, and it's frustrating me.
I have altered the way I eat, (I am eating more than 500calories less than what I used to); however, still haven't started any major exercising. My problem is that we are renovating an apartment we just bought and planning for the wedding and honeymoon. I also work 9 hours on 6 days a week. So I am hardly finding any time to even scratch my head. It's hard enough just trying to get a good meal in. I finally decided to join groups because maybe I will get more motivated. I am losing motivation just looking at the graphical trend of my weight loss/gain over the last month. It's pathetic losing only 1KG in a month. As far as I know I should have lost at least 2KG by now.
Anyway, as for me, I'm 24 years old, I work... as I already mentioned. I handle the Hotels and Restaurants Supplies Division of the family business. Been engaged since last December. My fiance just got me a pet puppy, which I am absolutely in love with. In general, I love to travel, I just haven't been finding much time to do that lately. I can't wait till January when I am married, settled in my new home and getting back to a specific routine. I am stressed out like crazy, and my face is breaking out as a result of that.
Well, any advice, tips, motivational speaches are all welcome. I just need to lose the weight.
- Rana
1. History with weight loss: Hasn't ever been an issue with me until now. I changed jobs (well, changed zoos) and now am much less physically active all day. I get way more exercise than the normal person with a desk job - zoo work is just like farm work so I'm outside all day walking, hauling hay, raking, shoveling, trimming hooves for very big critters...but it's less work here than at my old zoo. And I had to really change my diet since I was diagnosed with 2 kidney diseases. Between jobs I took a few months off and I put on weight so that, with the new diet, the lack of exercise, and the stress of moving, the diesease, etc., really upped my weight to higher than I have ever been.
I'm 5'2 and used to weight 105 but I shot up to 130 very quickly in the middle of the year after my surgery and job change. So I'd like to get back down to 105 by the time I go on my Chrstmas vacation Dec. 9th. Also, I've set a midway goal of being 115 by Sept. 15 (my birthday!)
As of today I've gotten back down to 118! So happy! Old clothes are starting to fit again. Almost halfway to 25 pounds off.
2. Hitory with CC: I joined in January of '08 not to track calories but to see what I was eating in general to manage the kidney dieases. After June (when I was all settled in my new job) I realized maybe it was time to take off the extra weight I gained rapidly and start counting those calories.
3. Why join this group? I like seeing a direct relationship between what I eat and how I look and feel, and the little thumbs up with how much I've lost and when I'll reach my goal is a great motivator. But I don't have many people here in my new town to support me so I like having a group to go to for help and advice.
4. About me: Like I said, I'm a zookeeper who just moved to a new town, new zoo after leaving my old job to have surgery following a diagnoses of 2 kinds of kidney diease. So, big life changes. I'm less active at work (still very active), I run and swim. I just have my one dog now since the move but when I go back to school (to get another bachelor's degree) part time in January I want to add a few more pets (used to have fish, birds, chameleons, and rats). Money is tight so I'm calorie counting on a budget and trying to keep only healthy stuff in the house. The hardest part for me is at work there are piles of candy, baked goods, pizzas, etc. every day. Resisting temptation is hard when you're so tired and hungry from all that work!
Weight gain has been more of teh issue with me, I graduated college about 4 years ago, and started working a job in which I typically only move my hands. Computer work! Started eating out with the co-workers etc... Anyways I noticed my weight has gone up leaps and bounds.
I joined calorie counter and as of April I have lost about 18lbs. I'm losing my mind a little because I've stayed starionary on the weight loss for about a month now. A little discouraging, but I thought this group might help keep me motivated.
Hi! My name is Jess and I'm 17 and a senior in high school.
1. History with weight loss: I was at 150 in the 9th grade and lost 30 pounds, then i gained 11 back during my junior year.
2. History with Calorie Count: I've been on here since the 9th grade. It's helped me through a lot
3. Reason for joining this group: I'd like to reach my absolute goal by Christmas.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm highly involved in theater, I have a boyfriend who tells me I don't need to lose weight, I work as a receptionist part-time, and I have two german shepards, Rambo and Bear.
Hi, my name's Ginny, I'm a 31 yr old SAHM
history with weight loss - I was never skinny but I never felt fat either, until I started having kids. After having my daughter 3.5 yrs ago I never lost the pregnancy weight and it just went up from there.
history with calorie count - I just joined today. I've been doing it alone for the past few weeks with watching what I eat and getting on my treadmill 3-4 x a week and doing a pilates video. Then I found this site and thought I could really use the support of other's going through a similar struggle.
reason for joining the group - friendship and support to help me lose the weight
I'm a SAHM to my beautiful 3.5 yr old daughter and 8mth old twin daughters. My wonderful husband just recently seperaed from the military after serving for 10 yrs. Im fortunate to be able to stay home with my girls and watch them grow everyday.
I'm hoping to connect with other people that are struggling to lose the weight. My goal is to lose 15lbs by Dec, last xmas I was a beached whale on bedrest in the hospital about to deliver twins..haha so this year I'd love to be able to wear a nice dress for the holidays.
Hi Everyone,
My name is Lisa and I live in NH. I am currently 145 pds, 41 years old, and quit smoking over 9 months ago. I workout just about 5 days a week and I would love to lose about 10 to 15 pounds. I joined CC because I find as I get older it just gets tougher to lose the weight, plus quitting butts has made it very difficult but well worth it thats for sure!! I work full-time as a tax accountant and I also am a full-time college student finishing my bachelors degree at SNHU. I am married to my high school sweet heart and have 3 dogs that keep me very busy as well. I really need some motivation as far as diet. I tend to workout fairly regularly but I find myself starved after my workouts and I lose it when it comes to eating. I eat well but I tend to over eat on those days that I workout really hard which to me, is counter productive. Good luck everyone with their goals.
Lisa
1. History with weight loss - weight became an issue for me when I moved to a different country 6 years ago... the change of pace and also a chance in my diet led to a gain of a little over 40 lbs... I was 178 at my heaviest.
2. History with Calorie Count - I joined CC on Sept of last year and stopped counting after a couple of months as things got complicated with work... I managed to lose almost 7 lbs then, gaining a couple back over the course of the next few months.
I re-started CC'ing on June 26th at the (sad) weight of 173 and have so far lost 10 lbs - I weigh in at 163 lbs.!
3. Reason for joining this group - although my weight loss has been good, I would like to increase it by a few more pounds per month so I am able to make my goal of 135 by December 25th. Belonging to a group gives me the extra motivation I need and makes me accountable for my actions.. or sometimes lack thereof!
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests- I am a wedding planner living in Mexico.. I love what I do and get to work from home! I have been in a committed relationship for the past 6 years and am truly happy. I have two dogs - Bella (pug) and Chai (cocker spaniel) who make my day a very interesting one.. LOL! I am great at staying on track when it comes to food but not so much with exercise.. that has to change!

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this group, so I'll just get right to it:
1. I haven't really had much, I gained over the last 2 years from 130-135 to 168. I lost about 10 pounds, but I would like to become the person I really want physically, so I will need to lose another 20-ish pounds.
2. I signed up a long time ago, but was pretty off and on for a while (not really focused)
3. Well, the title says it all- I want to lose 20 lbs by December 14 that's my goal.
4. I have a cat named Page, I play the guitar, I teach ESL.
1. Lost about 20 pounds over the last six months
2. Just joined this specific website
3. I believe that group motivation helps me
4. Going to the Turcs and Caicos so I wanna spend every moment in a teeny bikini!
Hello everyone!
1. I've lost about 15 pounds since January because of a lifestyle change (I moved to Italy...it seems the olive oil is agreeing with me).
2. I just signed up today!
3. I really want to actually achieve a weight loss goal for the first time in my life! I've always heard that there is strength in numbers!
4. I was extreemly active for the first 17.5 years of my life. I was actually underweight until I was about 12. From 13 until 17 I dedicated my life to swimming. I was in the pool 6 times a week excersizing a minimum of 3 hours a day. When I made the decision to stop, I kept of a decent workout rountine for about 6 months, but it's been down-hill ever since. For the last 2 years I've felt this aching to start excersizing again. I've wanted to shed these extra pounds not so much for astetic reasons, but for my health. I have a history of heart problems in my family and I know that ever extra pound puts me at more risk. I also want to have an athletic body again. I miss feeling toned and fit!! It's funny for someone who was so active everyday to now have a hard time making time to work out once a week!
I moved to Italy in January to be with my boyfriend whom I met while studying abroad in 2005. We did about 3 years on the long (looong) distance thing and after graduating from college we were finally able to be together. A pleasent suprise was the weightloss I expierenced after I arrived. I wasn't really watching what I ate, but just enjoyed the simple but amazing meals they cook over here. I realize that my diet when I was a student was pitiful! I had no money (I was spending all of that on plane tickets and phone cards) and therefore ate whatever I could afford. But I was shocked about how well my body responded to this mediterranean diet! There has been this huge anti-carb craze in America for about the last 10 years. I even had success (however temporary) with Adkins. But over here I eat pasta almost everyday. I think what the key is to eating over here is good, simple food and olive oil. I think about 90% of family lunches (they eat together for lunch too since there's an average of a 2 hour lunch break) and dinners have probably 6 or less ingredients, and most of those are vegetables (tomatoes...lost of tomatoes)! This food experince had helped open my eyes to see that I don't have to take the pleasure out of eating just to eat healthy! Now what I've got to do is curb my sweet-tooth and get my butt moving!!!
Hello, All!
I have been on CC since the spring of 2008, I think.
I was in a car accident in January of '07 and gained 20 pounds. In February of '08, I was finally able to start walking at a faster pace and got busy! By August, I had lost 20 pounds mostly from walking 3-5 miles every day! In Feb. '08, I was diagnosed with Exercise Induced Asthma, which has only gotten worse, so I let up on the exercise. I don't want to quit. I have gained back 5 pounds and want to get busy again and get the weight off once and for all!
I am 5'6"; 42 years old; Starting weight was 195. Current weight 180.
My goal weight is 155-160.
I am married for 21 years and the mother of 6 children. I am a stay at home mom so there is always food within reach. I try to buy less junk food. I did really well until I hit the 175 mark and I have let up on the exercise. Time to start again and get really healthy.
