We have forums now! Yay!
Ok - a bit about me...well, see my profile for more info, but here's the gist of it...
Weight loss: I've done some, still need to do some ![]()
Calorie-Count: Been here for a while - since Feb 06.
Reason for joining this group...I love taking pictures, would like to get more serious with it at some point, and am interested in learning more about cameras/photography. I currently have a Canon S3 IS, which is great, but I do have some difficulty with it sometimes. When I bought it, I nearly got a Nikon D50, but decided I wasn't quite there yet. I also occasionally use my husband's little sony, which is also great (but doesn't have that supermacro or zoom that I love on my Canon).
Interesting details about me...I dunno. I love to try new recipes. And I have a lot of hobbies. I also just got a new bike, followed by clipless pedals/shoes, which I have not officially tried out yet.
Hi! My name is Holli. I am 22 years old and I work in retail full time, plus college full time and I'm in the process of starting my own computer tutoring business.
My history with weight loss is...well, not good. Obesity runs in both sides of my family quite rampantly so I do have a bit of genes to compete against. I really wasn't too big (a little pudgy, but nothing serious...heck when I was in my freshman year of high school, I wore a bikini to swim class!!) up until my sophomore year when my parents decided to move me from the city to a place as country as you can get. I was depressed from the move away from my friends and the city I loved, so I used food as a comforting thing. I started eating more and more and my weight increased dramatically from 2001-2006. In 2006, I moved to California and stayed with my aunt, who just happened to not only have lots of fat-free/low-to-no calorie foods in the house (a big change from what we had back at home), but had 2 or 3 friends who thought Nutrisystem would work for them, but didn't like the taste of the food. I started on it and wandered away very little from the diet that was set for me. I lost 30-35 (don't remember the exact number) in about two months. I went from a women's 18-20 to 14. Later on the year, I moved in with my boyfriend and I found my weight going up and up and up. Not only did I make poor eating/exercise choices, but I gained back all the weight that I lost PLUS another 18.
I joined Calorie Count over a year ago, but I keep falling off the bandwagon. I really don't have anybody else that will go through it with. I finally signed up for a fitness class at school and I'm going to take it as this is a new beginning and there is no way for me to get out of exercising because I'm getting graded for being there.
I joined this group because I love photography. I'm a budding photographer and would love to me people who have my same interest. My equipment includes a Sony W200 and an A100 with and 18-70 lens.
My interests are computers, technology, making videos, photography, electronics, reading, teaching, PhotoShop, and music....hee hee, lots of things to keep me on my butt and not exercising, huh? I would love to get the Wii Fit if I had the money. :(
Well, that's my story, folks. *deep breath* Here I go!

I have no idea if this group is still active or not. I surely hope it is
!
I love photography even though I new at the whole "shot like a pro" thing. I'm 25 years old Live in Croatia Europe and I love travelling - that is how I discovered I love my little Canon Ixus! I'm in process of buying some better equipment and a book I can read to improve my skills.
That is all for now. Hope someone still reads this group! Bye!
I'm still reading ;-)
I'm also rediscovering my camera...an S3 IS. It's getting older I know. It's gone from my favorite camera to the one that I bypass for my husband's little point & shoot. I messed with it a bit this last weekend, but am not sure it improved. Mostly having problems w/ grainy photos. Anyway... Will be checking in more often, maybe we can make things more active, posting photos, etc.
Hi there.
I have struggle with my weight for quite a while now and joined CC in the hope of getting some inspiration LOL. I am quite a keen photographer and have been for quite some time. I live in Hull in the UK and as it is one of the largest ports my interests are mainly Shipping. I use mainly Pentax and Samsung equipment and usually get decent results.
Hello!
1. History with weight loss... Well I feel kind of bad but actually no history, I used to be very physical and active in my teen years, and now that I'm older and have an office job with little free time to exercise, I've lost virtually all my muscle and have lost too much weight, looking to put some (muscle) weight back on.
2. First day/first post on CC. My wife is on here, so I followed her =)
3. Why this group? Well the wonderful and terrible all encompassing information overload of the internet has not only succeeded in making any form of art easily accessible at your finger-tip, but it has also equally as successfully taken any uniqueness and love out of many of those art forms. Tools such as digital cameras and photoshop, while wonderful tools, eliminate (at least to me) the raw heart and soul of unaltered art forms such as photography.
I suppose what that tangent boils down to is: I'm an old school film photographer, and there's no longer a place for me in this world. So I thought I could cling desperately to the passersby in this group and scream "Look at mah pictures!" to them. ^_^;;
4. Interesting about myself? Well... Uhh... I'm a crappy dancer?
Hi there. I'm Jackie. I'm from Louisville, KY. I joined CC a few days ago and I'm really looking forward to finally taking control of my life!!
I'm 25. I own a photography studio here and I love my job. I just hate doing a shoot or going to a wedding and sweating becasue I can run around fast enough. It will be a whole lot easier soon! And I couldn't be more excited!!!
