And now just go ahead and make that first post!
I started CC in January at 196lbs and I have since lost 30ish pounds. I am going for a goal weight of 145 (maybe lower next year, since I am 5'2", but I don't know yet) and I am hoping that 145 will be a great cristmast present for me!
BTW, I am 27 yrs old, just got married 1 year ago, no kids, two absolutely great beagles and one devil cat.
I started CC August 1st. I also exercise 30min a day using a combo of strengthening exercises, aerobics and stationary bicycling. I work as an administrative assistant so I’m at my desk on the computer most of the day. I had success with CC about ten years ago when I lost 50 lbs in 6 months and hope to repeat the success. When I started the diet I weighed 166 lbs and have since lost 4 lbs. My goal is 30 to 40lbs by Mid January when I have a trip planned to Honduras.
I just turned 48 and am single. I have a German shepherd named Zoe, and a cat named Caesar. I have a variety of interests including writing, camping, hiking and playing Frisbee with Zoe. I also love traveling and going on short term mission trips every two years to other countries.
1. History with weight loss:
I am almost 23/F/5'6'' HW: 215 CW:173 SW:186 GW:136 &am p;nb sp; &am p;nb sp; I started CC July 18th and I have lost 13 lbs.! My heaviest weight was 215 and that was April 24th 2008 the day I gave birth to my daughter! My prepregnancy weight was 194! That was my heaviest weight ever and I don't really know how I let myself go, I had a boyfriend and I guess I got "comfortable" the end of 2006 I weighed about 160 and by August 07' I was 194! I have always been around 150 throughout highschool and college and I looked pretty good not skinny but good, I was muscular because I played softball through highschool and college. After I stopped working out in spring of 05' I started packing on the pounds!
2. History with Calorie Count:
Since I started a month ago I have lost 13 lbs. By eating between 1200-1400 cals a day and working out 5 times a week. I have also lost 5.2 inches all around! I am so excited to finally get this weight off! CC is the best thing that I have ever found and it happened by chance... Not only is it free but it makes the most sense and makes it easy to change my lifestyle!
3. Reason for joining this group:
I need all the motivation and information I can get!
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
I currently work for USPS and I am also finishing up school to give my daughter a great future! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I also have a 3 year old pomeranian named gucci and he is my little stud! I love sports and my family, and love anything outdoors!
I weighed in today and was pleased to learn I'd lost another 2 lbs for a total of 6lbs. Yeah!!! So I treated myself to some chineese food (my favorite next to pizza) and hopefully burned off half the cal by mowing the yard this evening.
I don't know about the rest of you but weekends are the hardest for me so this weekend I have a project planned-cleaning the walls of my bathroom and then next weekend painting. That should keep me busy.
Hope everyone is doing well on their goals. Hang in there. We can do this!!!
This forum layout has me totally confused, but i have to start somewhere. I want to lose by january............because I can't lose any faster! I'd like to lose by tomorrow! LOL Okay, enough goofyness. I want to lose because I can't stand being this fat anymore! it's not healthy! and I feel gross. I'd like to lose my Dec 5 (party) but it's not realistic. Sigh.................so..............here's my first post...............did it work?

Hi. My name is Liza. I am 27 years old, and I am the single mother of a very rambunctious little boy, Alex. He will be 3 in October. I am getting ready to begin my last year of nursing school, going for my associate's degree.
1. I don't have too much of a history with weight loss, only because i've never really thrown all of my effort into it. weight hasn't ever been much of an issue for me, but i've been about 20 pounds overweight for the past few years. i'm getting tired of it, and i'm noticing that my eating habits are not very good at all. if i don't get control of it now, then some problems will surface in the future.
2. I just came across CC today by chance, and i really like how it's set up. so i thought i'd give it a shot.
3. I'm joining this group because i know i need support in this.
4. I pretty much took care of this in the intro. :)
4. My name is Sarah. I am 27, and have been dating someone for 2+ years. I am an accountant in a large construction company. I have a large family (4 sisters, 1 bro, 3 brothers-in-law, 3-soon to be 5-nieces and nephews) that I am very close with. Right now I am really into losing weight, but football season is starting so I will soon be into that.
1. I gained about 20 lbs. studying for the CPA exam and working at a public accounting firm. I changed to a less stressful job in April and have now begun to live healthier.
2. I started CC in July for more support.
3. I haven't contributed to a forum, but I am addicted to reading them. I decided that this one fit my goal. I have gotten really motivated from reading this site, and hope to lose most my weight by Jan.

Hi, I'm Kate and I am 23. Up until 2007, I could eat anything I want and I never gained any weight. I then was diagnosed with endometriosis and had surgery, which took me almost 6 months to recovery from because of incorrect hormonal treatments. 8 different medications and 2 years later, and I'm finally getting healthy again. Unfortunatly the side effect of the one medication that works is hormonal weight gain. I have packed on about 15kg (about 30lb) in the space of 18 months. This has had a huge effect on my self esteem. I am now about 73kg (160lb) and 160cm (5'2), none of my favourite clothes fit anymore and my bra size has increased by almost 2 cups sizes (good some might think, but not when you're a DD cup to start with)
2. History with Calorie Count: today is my first day ![]()
3. Reason for joining this group: I've been working really hard at the gym for the last month, with the support of my wonderful boyfriend (who insists he loves me exactly as I am) and am slowly starting to shift the weight. So now the next step is me being here! I want to lose 10kg (20lb) by January, which is just over 1.5 kg (3lb) a week.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a national project manager for a training company, so I work a lot and travel alot, which makes regular excersize tough some days. I'm not allowed pets at my apartment, so I have 7 fish and a snail (named snaily) that I just love. I have a dress hanging in my wardrobe that I see everytime I open it up. I'm determined to wear this dress for NYE!
... thanks for listening ![]()

but seriously I really like that there are so many people on CC community and when down to the last 20 its a different then the first 20. *slower and harder to come off*
4. Some interesting details about yourself,
such as
your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm a sahm (stay at home mom) I'm not nearly woman enough to home school my kids. I'm bake WAY too much! If you want a good recipe for something sweet I can probably make a suggestion. (However it probably won't be low cal. *womp womp*
)
I live in the very middle of US map and we have lots of lovely lakes around here and wooded valleys that I don't get out and enjoy nearly enough.
Interests- local arts, watercolor, graphics, art in advertising , marketing. Local civil war history, I get into anything of interest going on in the community events, teaching my 5 year about all kinds of things-real life math skills, history, culture, science and reading in interesting way.
Wow, congrats to those who've already lost a lot of weight! WTG :)
When I joined CC in March, it said that my goal weight could be achieved by July. It was possible, but I got too comfortable when I lost a few pounds that I let it all slide and so now I'm back to my starting point. I'd like to say that I'm determined not to do that again, but I just got done eating a bag of chips..sigh...
I have just a little bit of weight to lose. I figure I really want to nip it in the bud before it gets to the point where I'd have a lot of weight to lose. Here's my stats:
SW- 126, CW- 125, GW- 118 (?)
32y/o, 5'6"
I know it looks like I have lost 1 pd, and technically yes, I did, but I was down to 119 in May, and am now back up there :(

Hi I'm Despoina from Greece.
This is my first weight loss program. I looked at some recent photos and I didn't recognise myself. I was divorced last December after 33 years of marriage. I think I've grieved enough and now I want to get back to the business of living. I'm aiming at a 20 pound loss in the next few months. My will power is not what it used to be and I can use all the help I can get! I love cooking and eating so this is the problem. I live on what used to be a remote island before the movie "Mama Mia" came here for filming! Today is my first day with Calorie Count. I'm trying to figure things out.
Hello, I am Charyne from Kansas,
Over the years of being in school, I have managed to put on a few pounds. I was looking back at highschool photos and realized that I had gained weight. I tried weight watchers, but frankly didn't like it too much. I couldn't keep up with what point was what. Counting calories is much easier. This is my first time with CC. My reason for joining is just to get my weight back down and get my body in shape, too the point that I can wear tighter closes and not feel completely uncomfortable. Also, I need some support because even though I am 140lbs, I am by far the largest in my group of friends. I am a size 7/8, and most of my friends are like a 2-4. I would like to just get down to a 4. Right now I am in school to get a Genetics degree, and am applying for pharmacy school. I live with my boyfriend of 3 years and we have 2 cats Moki and Atilla. Right now I am interested in finishing up my degree and seeing where the future can take me.
Hey everyone,
I started with CC at the start of Aug and have been losing weight so, Yeah! My history with weight loss doesn't really exist. I was working away from home before my first marriage and lost tons of weight becuase all I did was work out but its been a steady uphill since then. I now have a 2 year old son with the love of my life (hubby 1 was a deadbeat) and am tired of always feeling oogy. I am 5'5" ish. My starting weight was 170 and my goal weight is 135. I have lost just a smidge over ten pounds by being very careful with my calories. I love to read all the forums so have decided to join a few and have started one of my own called the Cheater's Club. I chose January as a goal so that my new year will be about maintaing health not making yet another resolution to lose 20 pounds.
Let's see....
I've been overweight my whole adult life and this year made the decision to reach a healthy BMI in a reasonable amount of time. I started in January and joined CC in April, which has been very helpful. I'm 5'8" and my current weight is 167 (starting weight about 185). I'd like to be around 158 by January (I'll be in Hawaii and it's my 30th birthday). But more importantly I want to maintain and not gain weight back, so I'm not too focused on numbers right now. In fact, I don't actually count calories. I did for a month or so and got to the point where I felt comfortable knowing what I could eat and not overeat. I also don't do a lot of low-fat type cooking -- I want to eat real food and still be at a healthy weight.
I just got married this August and I'm in my final year of pharmacy school. I love crafts and knitting -- also hiking and outdoors. I also do lots of cooking. I have new rules about food now so that I don't cook/eat for emotional reasons. I also let myself make a great meal once a month, including baking a dessert. It seems to be working so far.
I joined the group because I love hearing other people's stories and seeing their pictures. So keep it coming.
1. History with weight loss: Well I used to be very athletic and lean but as I grew older and got office jobs I balloned up from the 150's to 186 earlier this year. I started suffering injuries in the few athletic activities that I still do so I figured that carrying around the extra 36 pounds were the cause.
2. History with Calorie Count: I started using the site around feburary of last year.
3. Reason for joining this group: Mostly to compare notes and learn more about nutrition and what other people are doing to lose weight
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm in the IT field. I'm married with a daughter. I have two dogs, a cat, and a Guinea pig. I play Tennis and flag football, but I also enjoy computer games.
I didn't have much of a weight problem until I got the Depo shot. So for the past 3 years I've been pretty miserable. I used to be a wonderful size 5 and weigh around 125-130 but not anymore. I just had a baby and luckily only gained 7 pounds but I'm just not happy with my weight. I want to be able to fit back into some outfits that just look funny on me now.
I started CC on September 1st and have already lost 9 pounds (yay!) which brings me down to 150. I like the way it works, I'm just not sure on it's accuracy.
I joined this group just to see what kind of advice others have or food ideas. I'm having a hard time giving up on so many things, and I can't find replacements that satisfy me, as I'm always hungry if I'm not busy.
I'm 28 and have 2 kids, one who will be 2 months tomorrow and the other is 6. So I stay fairly busy. My husband's deployed, and it would be nice to be a little smaller when he gets back, so I could actually wear some of my clothes and not have to buy new stuff. I also have a cat, but that's not very interesting. I work out pretty regularly and all that fun stuff.
1. Never been a girl who was real concerned about my weight until I gained almost 30 pounds in three years. Yikes! So I started calorie count about two months ago and have lost ten pounds. Yay! (And I can't weight 'til New Years when I should be a lovely 140!)
2. I got into calorie count a little when a friend told me about it but I wasn't really in the right frame of mind about weight loss. However, upon moving in with my boyfriend, I knew I had to step up or risk more weight gain due to complacency. And I didn't want to become like someone in my family who ballooned over the past two years into an unfathomable weight. O_o (I'll admit, sibling rivalry is harsh.)
3. I like to see other people make it to their goals and need some more motivation! (Plus CC recommended it to me.)
4. I'm an English & Professional Communications major, hoping to be engaged soon to my total opposite whom I live happily with. I'll be happy to survive this last year of school so that I can get a job that will fund my fabulous travel plans. =) (I've been to Italy and now I'm raring to get out and explore!)
Good luck everyone on meeting your goals!!!!
1. History with weight loss:
I've never really been overweight. My junior year of high school I ballooned up to 186lbs from 134lbs. I was depressed. I then lost most of the weight, and was down to 145 the day I graduated High School. I have gained about 10 lbs since then and would like to get back down to 130ish before January of 2009.
2. History with Calorie Count:
This is my first time with CC. I used weight watchers before, so it is kind of similar.
3. Reason for joining this group:
To have the help and support for my weight loss that I lack at home.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
I am an administrative assistant at a Chevy dealership. I am also a part time college student. I am going for nursing. I have one dog named Lexi, and a wonderful boyfriend whom I have been with for a little over two years. I am hoping for an engagement ring sometime soon, but we will see :)
Hi,
I've joined this group because I need the motivation to help me lose weight before an around the world trip starting mid January. I have a rather fortunate, or maybe unfortunate, history with weight loss in that I am a chronicyo-yo dieter on a par with Oprah. Over the last 10 years I have managed to lose 52kgs (about 115 lbs) but unfortunately I have also managed to put on a lot of weight over that time. I now weigh 84kgs (184 lbs). Ideally I would like to get down to 70kgs before we leave to go O'seas.
It frustrates me enormously that I teach a Health Psychology course at my local university and yet I still can't maintain and manage my weight. However I know I have the most success when I have a concrete goal that requires a certain level of fitness and we are skiing as part of our trip. At 51 years of age there is no time to wait before making a change.
