Heya everybody! Look at us... with a group! (can we somehow say that the group is closed? Like just the members of our forum can use it?)
1. oh man... i was a pudgy child.... turned vegan when i was 10... lost a lot of weight... have gained and lost weight over the past 10 years... Now i'm in it the healthy way and doing it for real and forever
2. member since june.... wasn't really committed until late july
3. because these gals are awesome
4. I'm a senior at Duke... I'm going to Paris this fall (!!!!) ... umm I really really love dancing... and baking (my mom owns a bakery) ... and Duke basketball... and marching band... I'm a political science major with minors in french and art ... and i'm going to be skinny and hot! whoo!
Hi guys.
I'm still relatively new to CC, just joined in July of this year, but already lost 20 pounds. Not bad, not bad.
I was very thin until I hit my 30's, then I went from 115 pounds to 225 in about 4-6 months. And I've been struggling to lose it all ever since. The lowest I've gotten is 180, which is where I am now. So everything from now is new territory. I'm pretty excited.
CC says I'm an excessive eater, which makes sense to me. Learning portion sizes (as well as when to quit) has been a challenge for me, but one I need to overcome if I'm going to be successful.
I joined this group cause it fits me. I work as a telemarketer (which I surprisingly love) and I'm currently working on writing a book, the first of a series. I share my home with a 12 year old cat named Delilah as well as a betta named Sampson (lol, my twisted sense of humor. If you know the story of Sampson and Delilah you'll understand why I find it so funny). I live in beautiful Colorado, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be here.
Now that I've put y'all to sleep, I'll leave the stage so someone else can get on board.

Let me know if I am doing this wrong or not...I'm not that computer savoy and don't really know if this is how we now talk back and forth.???
I love it Commited Losers! It also made me laugh. I need it just about now too because this damn scale. It is digital so I know it's legit, also weight watchers one too. o'well. I've had a 1000 calorie deficit each day other than the box of muffin mix incident but yesterday made up for it by having a 1500 calorie deficit. I am no longer weighing my self after peeing in the morning only after cardio and morning poo. I've been real regular on my diet; which is real good because some years ago I never did (like every 2-3 maybe 4 days) ahhh. I think we should really consider implementing the tape measure like susiecue said she did. By the way; way to go with the loss girl! I know my weight is going down, it isn't even a question because the cellulite in my butt is going away. Hate dimples in the cheeks but love them in the other cheeks...how odd. Next week after workout I will go by the health food store and get my body fat tested (I think)...the only problem with that is if they pinch in the wrong spot it can through the number off which can really make you feel like a failure.
As of now 1:52 pm weight is 142.6 we will see after workout with cardio.!!! that would be up 2 lbs with 1000 calorie deficit average each day!??? I don't quite think so. No one gets that much muscle in 1 week unless I was taking steroids, and I'm not...by far.
Hey hey! I like this idea =]
1. I've ALWAYS been bigger than most. ( in 5th grade i was 144!) I'm not built to be a stick figure and I really don't want to be one either. 150lbs makes me happy. I got really depressed after my parents divorced and made me move, i went up to 220lbs at age 14. At about 15 and some months i went on a crash diet cause i was desperate. Lost 75lbs QUICK. Kept it off for a while, then started to work at McDonalds as a first job. Gained a lot back ... GR.
2. Started here on August 8th. Accounting for every morrsel i eat and any bit of activity I do.
3. These chicks are awesome =]
4. I just moved to NC with my boyfriend on July 6th, and have saved enough money not to work for the summer =]. Im relaxing currently, but when school starts around here... im gonna go get a job. HOPEFULLY NOT IN FOOD! Thats a weakness. I live with my boyfriend and his family (mom, bro, and sis) while he is getting his self straight with certifications he wants. Also here to help out cause his mom had to have knee replacement surgury... and the stupid gov't wont give her disability. We have 7 cats ( Angel, Frisky, Tiger, Pretty-Tone, White Boy, White Girl, and Kumar).... 5 Dogs (Phattie, Shadow, Princess, Cutie Pie, Spike.. A minipony named Spirit... A bass in a little pond, and two Koi fish (Bill and Bob) .. Its a zoo! I love it here out in the middle of nowhere .. big change from moving from a city in VA to country ol NC. =] Life is great down south.
Cool!
1. I've tried South Beach several times over the past 4 years, but I never lose the weight I'm supposed. After a few weeks I get overwhelmed by all the cooking I have to do and just give up. Counting calories is much easier than trying to cook good food all the time.
I never considered myself overweight until a few years ago. I was a good weight after high school and then I gained the obligatory freshman 20 when I went to college (up to 144). My weight fluctuatued for awhile (highest was 155, lowest was 130), but I usually always came back to 144. Then I started grad school, met my boyfriend and quit my second, active, job all within a few months of each other and I gained another 20 pounds. I haven't been able to shake the 160's in at least 2 years.
2. I started calorie count on July 15. My boyfriend and I made a deal to lose 20 pounds by mid-November. My 'prize' will be a trip to Sedona. His will be a Nintendo WII, but it's looking less likely he'll be losing the weight (and he needs to more than I do).
3. This group is really comfortable and posts often, which I like.
4. The boyfriend and I finally took that next step of moving in together (we've been together 3 years). We're talking about marriage, so there should be an engagement ring on this finger by December. We have two dogs that don't get along and have to stay in separate parts of the house which sucks, cause they are the reason we met in the first place. I'm a Drama/English teacher for Junior High kids and will start getting really stressed out when my plays are closer to being performed.
O' I should probably do a proper introduction.
I've started coming on to CC because I was trying to lose fat while still keeping a good percentage of my muscles with a 1600-1900 calorie diet and well- it didn't work. Now I am using the same macros but just lowered the calories down to 1250-1300 on total body w/cardio days and 15-1600 calories on double cardio days where I usually burn between 1200 calories in a day. Hopefully I soon start to see results because I usually maintain a deficit of 1000 calories a day give or take.
I have no kids, am married with 3 dogs and a cat. Currently I am not working so my life is basically stationary besides going to the gym to train. I live in Las Vegas Nevada (moved from a small town in Ohio) and love it here. I can get a bit expensive but other than that we have beautiful skys everyday...rarely rain or overcast.
I've tried the Atkins diet but was unable to eat all the vegetables after 2 weeks or so..I actually would feel ill from the site of veggies. I was on a doctor assisted weight loss program where they had me on Phen and it gave me roid-rage so I had to get off. No one likes an angry person; not even the dogs. I started at Le Cordon Bleu and gained all the weight that I initially lot from the dr. assisted program. I'd prefer to do it the right way and lose it health with nice muscles to show for all my work and dedication.
Hi, my name is Lydia! You can call my Lady if you'd like :)
1. I've been trying to lose weight since I was 14. At 14, I weighed 180lbs but never really lost more than a couple pounds before gaining it back. Finally in 2006 I did an overhaul and lost 52lbs and in 2007 I gained back 27 of it. I started losing weight again March 30, 2008. I've lost 12lbs since then.
2. I found CC while looking for new add-ons for my browser. I saw the CC toolbar and thought it might be good for motivating me. Then I found the forums and...
3. ...I found this group! A bunch of people making friends and losing weight. What's not to love?
4. I'm 21, short and silly. I mean, just look at my avatar! My husband and I got married 10/10/07 and we rent a room in my parents's house. I love animals and we've got a Chihuahua and two cats (male and female) in the house. I don't really like exercising so most of my weight loss is through diet. Gotta do what you can maintain, right?
So, *now* it'll let me post! :-)
1. History with weight loss: I've never been thin; just not built that way. As a kid, I felt like "the fat kid" from about the age of 10 - though looking at the pictures, I was really only slightly pudgy. Because I was resigned to the "fact" that my body seemed to stay the same size no matter what I ate/did/exercised, I never really bothered dieting. There didn't seem to be much point. Looking back, that's one thing I'm glad of as it means I didn't mess up my metabolism too badly.
I gained probably 10 pounds or so my first few years at uni - all on my chest; my pants fit fine but I needed new bras. Then my last year, I took up swimming and gained another 5-10 pounds. I'm guessing muscle mass, but who knows?
In grad school, I gained another 10-15 pounds due to stress. A year or so after I finished, people commented that I appeared to have lost weight so that must have been the grad school weight, I guess. I never really weighed myself just went by clothing sizes (which is one of the reasons I'm so bitter about vanity sizing; if the stores had kept their sizes the same, I'd have realised much sooner that I was getting bigger).
A couple of years ago, my sister moved in with me and I put on at least 10-15 pounds. After she moved out, I kept eating junk and way too much of it. This spring, I looked at myself in the mirror and decided that I didn't want to look like that anymore so I started trying to find a healthy/tolerable way to lose weight. Then I actually stepped on a scale and got a nasty nasty shock. This website has been an absolute lifesaver in that respect!
2. History with Calorie Count: I've only been here a couple of months. Came looking for calorie counts to put in a paper food journal and fell in love with some of the tools. The forums are great too!
3. Reason for joining this group: It was open when I was looking for a group. Basically, good timing. Love the group, though. So glad I joined!
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and moved to Ottawa, Canada, when I was six. I've also lived in Montreal, Calgary and Guelph (near Toronto). I currently teach intro. and organic chemistry at a medium sized university in Alberta, Canada, and I have two adorable cats - one of whom is super-hyper and makes me "play" with her a lot. ("Playing" = she meows at me until I get up then she runs away and I have to chase her. If I don't play chase with her, she chases the other cat - and the other cat doesn't like that!)

luvuprettyricky...we are no longer using this group because it was too much confusion for the girls. We are listed as Committed Losers but the forum for us has been closed for some time. Sorry.
If you really need to get in our group you have to contact Todeinotation and ask her, she is the one who started us up.
Hey folks,
I'm new here and need to lose about 20 lbs to be healthy. In terms of my diet and activity level, I'm 24 years old and work in a relatively sedentary job. When I get in my workout kicks, I do go to the gym after work for 1 hour. My true weaknesses are fast food and diet soda. I have very high cholesterol so the fast food is especially bad for me!
I'm committed and felt like this group would be a great tool. I look forward to talking with you all.
Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm joining this group and hope you don't mind a new member. I just need some people to be sort of accountable to so that I actually lose the weight this time!!
I currently weigh 155lbs which is down consideralby from my high of 195 about 4 years ago after having my third son. Ideally I would like to get to 129lbs which is less than I weighed when I graduated from college some 17 years ago.
I have started running (again) and I'm running about 3 miles 4 times a week. Recently I've been walking an additional mile to make it 4 miles each time I go out. I live in very flat Mason, OH so running is fairly easy without the incline!
I just found calorie count today and started tracking my food and exercise. Hopefully I can bikini ready before summer is over!!
