My name is Lulu. I am a 32 year old stay at home mom. I have four children. My oldest son is four, my twins (boy/girl) just turned three and the baby girl is four months. Needless to say, my life is a little crazy. I find that I am so busy taking care of my children all day long and all night long, that I often don't really take the time to care for myself!  I seem to have lost myself along the way in the role of "Mother".  This is a great role, but I used to have other interests and hobbies. I just can't really remember what they are.

I joined CC a few months ago. I am involved in a Couch to 5k challenge. So far we are on week 4. I have lost a few pounds but have about fifty more to go. I look forward to sharing tips with youall on raising children, and tips on how to stay happy as a stay at home mom.

Hi I am Shayna.  I am a SAHm to 2 boys age 4 and 6.5.

I joined CC about a year ago and have lost 38 lbs.  I still ahve a few more to go them maintain!   Hope to get to know some of you!

Hi my name is Sarah,

I am a stay at home mom, age 32,to 2 little girls ages 3 1/2, and 2.  Like Lulu, I have feel like I lost myself a little along the path of motherhood.  I absolutly love being a mommy, but after weaning my youngest this spring I kind of "woke up" and realized that I had been ignoring not only my health and fitness, but my outside intrests also.  I also found that I continued to eat like I was rewarding myself just for getting through the day. I always had candy and sweets around , and I was eating way over what my calorie limit should have been.

I stepped on a friends scale one day, and it said 215, which meant that I had really only lost about 15 lbs. after the birth of my last child, and I realized I had to do something.  Since May I have lost over 40 lbs. and feel better than I have ever.  The first 20 or so came off really easily, because  I started eating a normal amount of calories, actually listening to my body, and getting regular exercise.

Now I am still trying to lose another 30-40 lbs. and am also doing the couch to 5 K.  I am so thrilled to have found CC.  I think that it definatly helps me keep on track, even if I do get a little carried away sometimes!

I am really glad to have a SAHM group here, because  I think weight loss, and healthy living holds  different challenge for moms.  Specifically, getting kids on a healthy path, and making it all fit into a tight budget. I am excited to meet other mothers, and talk about some of this stuff!

Hey guys! Guess its just the three of us for now. I would have thought that there would be alot of stay at home moms!  Anyway, my kids are starting preschool next week and that will give me three mornings with just me and the baby. I am really looking forward to that. I am going to try to figure out how to get the baby to nap during that time so that I can get some things DONE! How wonderful that will be. Maybe I can start to feel like I have some control over my house. Right now, I clean and clean and then five minutes later, you can't even tell. But I find it hard to relax in the evening when the family and the kitchen are all messed up. I don't care about the rest of the house, just those two rooms. But I am usually too tired to pick stuff up, so I think I end up just watching tv with a big weight on my shoulders!

Hi everyone, I am current a SAHM. I have 2 beautiful lil' girls. My oldest just started kindergarten and my youngest is 8 months old. We also have my boyfriends two on the weekends, they are 5 and 4 years old.

1. I've always been a "big girl". I've been going through alot of medical problems in the past 6 months or so. I just kind of woke up one day and realized that I need to be taking better care of myself if I want to see my babies grow up.

2. I joined CC towards the end of July. I've lost about 10lbs since I've joined!

3. I'm looking for other moms to connect with. Find some ideas on how to get the whole family to eat healthy meals.

Welcome Trinarose_kitty!  Wow, just starting kindergarten! How did that go? Is it an all day kindergarten?  Did she get to ride the school bus?

Good job on the 10 pounds.  I know how hard it can be to eat healthy and lose weight with little kids and a baby. Super hard!  My kids have a very short list of stuff that they will eat. My oldest has that fear of new foods so he has a super short list. I just feed them their own meals, and then my husband and I eat later, since he gets home from work later.

Well, its nice to meet you! Welcome to the group. Hope everyone else had a great holiday weekend.

First day of kindergarten was so sad! She started to cry which made me cry!! She loves it now though. It is all day kindergarten...which I'm not too sure if I like yet or not. She comes home so drained and cranky. She is riding the bus, which adds another 2 hours to her day...I don't like that too much either Frown

Yes, kids and new foods....How do we get them over that lil fear?? All 3 of our older children have a different list (short list) of what they'll eat. It makes cooking dinner very difficult. Lately I've just been cooking dinner with quite a few veggie options and/or side dishes. If they don't eat, then they go hungry till the next meal. Does that seem to harsh?

trinarose_kitty- I dont' think that is too harsh!  My kids never seem to be to hungry by dinner time, even if  I am careful about giving them too many snacks.  My youngest(2) is pretty open-minded, but my oldest(almost 4) has a pretty short list too.  I just make sure there is something that she likes, and put a few other things on her plate,  even if I am sure she will not eat them. She doesn't have to eat anything, but she knows I will not make something special.  She always eats a great breakfast, and eventually maybe I will be able to make 1 meal for the entire family!

One meal for the entire family!!!!! That sounds like a dream come true. Maybe someday......  But right now, I just make them what I know they will like because I really can't afford to throw food away.  And thats what I would end up doing if I made them eat grown up food. So for now, nuggets, pizza, oatmeal, yogurt, nutrigrain waffles with peanut butter and grilled cheese is about all they eat. And fruit. Apples with peanut butter and also bananas. I guess thats not too bad of a variety.  Preschool starts friday for my twins and my four year old. Its only 2 1/2 hours, three days a week, but hey, thats enough time to get the house cleaned.

I'm in a couple different groups and I think that it's really sad that groups with 1,000 + people hardly ever talk. This group however has 4 people and I've done more talking in here than any other group I'm in!

Anyway.... lol

I know it's a dream come true to have the whole family sit down and eat all the same thing. But I'm trying my hardest. Thanks for the advice ... if you come across any creative recipes the whole may enjoy let me know.

Good luck with the preschool thing!

hi! my name is Aline( 28) and stay at home mom of a 2 1/2 Little girl.i have been on cc for almost 4 months now,this is the first group i liked(lol) .so far i have lost about 17  and need to lose an extra 30 + .never  had any problems with my weigh till after i had my baby.I'm from Brazil and my familly is not around to help .my husband's family don't help much so I'm all alone taking care of a toddler...it can be scary sometimes,when you don't have nobody to run to.so  i can say that I'm really happy i found this group!!!  &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;

Welcome Aline!  I have to say that this time around, with the baby, I feel like she's the first one. Partly because when my twins were babies, it was pretty much a blur. I had two newborn babies, my oldest was 18 months old, and soon after that I was pregnant again with another set of twins (who I lost). So now, I have the baby who just turned 5 months and I can't really remember what I did before. So, everything seems new this time around. I am enjoying most of it!  It is hard raising children, especially without anyone around to help.  And it is super hard losing weight with children. (Who can resist eating the crusts that they don't want?)  I am gald that we can be a support group for each other. The more support, advice, friendship, and just listening, the better!

I start week six of the couch to 5k program on Monday. I wish I was losing more weight! I have a long way to go before I get to where I want to be. Oh well. Just got to take it one day at a time. Have a great weekend you guys!

Hi all, I am a mother of 3 childern. I have a 7 yr.old and 23 month old twins.

Life has been a blur for the last 19months.

I have been struggling to get the weight off. I have been yo yo dieting for awhile, that ahs caused me to put more on. So, I am looking for help.

With 3 childern I feel like I spend all my time in the kitchen. :( UGH

I joined this group becasue I feel most of us SAHMS, know what each other is going through. I want to lsoe the weight for many reason, to feel and look better. To be here for my childern and my husband lost alot of weight and I am mad. Plus, we ahve his class reunion in NOv. and I don't know any of them and in school, he was the ladies man.

Hope that CC works for me and that I can stick to it!

Welcome biteme5! I totally understand why your life has been a blur! Same thing here.

I have to force myself to not eat the kids leftovers, or pizza crusts. Especially when they eat only one bite and say they are done. I don't know about you, but my kids won't eat left overs. So when they take one bite and then they are done, it ususally ends up getting thrown away. I have to fight that mindset everyday that I need to eat what they only took one bite out of because I don't want to throw it away and waste it. Sometimes I will keep it and say that they are going to have to just eat that for the next meal....but it usuallydoesn't work out.

Kids. No wonder alot of stay at home moms are overweight. They sure make it challenging!

Hi, I am a 41 year old stay at home mother of seven children.  I have five children full-time and 7 during summer and holidays.  I have lost 50 lbs since last December, but now that I am near my goal weight I have been having difficulty losing the last ten pounds, my appetitie has increased and my desire to exercise has decreased.  The school year has started and I have found myself with less time for both exercise and meal planning.  I look forward to receiving and giving weight loss tips from this group.

Good Day all!  lulufit, I am tough, my childern and husband all eat leftovers, or they don't eat. Since I am a SAHM, they aren't aloud to waste food. I go to the kitchen and make alot of noise and they think I am cooking. So far so good. My 7 yr. old asked why chicken 2 days in a row, I jsut said it is healthy for your body, he said OK.

My first day is good. I have been keeping myself very busy. I have cleaned the whole house and did the wash. Played with my twins.  Took them for awalk before the rain. This is the part of the day when I would really pick out. My twins are in bed, and I can't think of things to do. SO, i am going to nap, because if I don't my A- will be come a F and I don't want to keep starting over everyday.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi, my name is Brooke and I am a SAHM. I have two wonderful children. My daughter is 5 and my son is three months.

I have always been chubby but now I have crossed over to way too overweight. I am 215 5'3". I have never really tried to lose weight. I did tell myself that IL was going to "eat healthier". I didnt even know what that meant. Only eat two pieces of chocolate cake instead of three or something.

I happened upon this website looking for a support group for weight loss. It has been more help than I have imagined and I only joing last week!

I joined this group because I am a SAHM and I wanted to find other people who go through the same struggles and triumphs that I do.

I recently got married. (back in December07). My husband doesn't understand. He is 5'"10" and weighs 135-140. He can eat anything and not gain. He does support me and love me. I am blessed. I am really trying to help myself so that I can be more active with my children. I mean, I know of course I do want to look better, have higher self esteem and stuff but my children mean a whole lot to me.I dont want to die at a young age from diabetes(which I dont have thankfully) or heart attack or something. Well I feel like I am rambling so thats me. Thanks for listening.

Welcome everyone!

luv2bamom, I can totally relate to the health concerns. My uncle developed type 2 diabetes a few years back, and my grandpa had it also. I have PCOS which means that I am probably going to get diabetes unless I get my act together! Kind of scary that I like sweets so much. I am doing the couch to 5k program, and have only lost a few pounds. I need to re-evaluate my diet because I am working too hard to only lose a pound here and there. Oh well, I guess slow and steady wins the race.

Wow, gerapamster, seven kids! Do you get any sleep? I hope we can all help support each other thru this weight loss journey.

Well my first day was not that bad.  It is 9pm and the only problem is that, I still have alot of calories to use up. I know you don't have to use them up, but, I am getting hungry.  I know, I need to up my fruit in take.  fruit just doesn't always do the trick.

Hope everyone is doing good.

luv2bamom, I know what you are going through. My husband has diabetes and my father in law found out 2 weeks ago he has it. My dad has it and not to scare you, he lost both legs 2yrs. ago to it. This is partly why I need to lose the weight. I was border line while pg with my twins.

Well, now my husband just asked if I wanted a snack. It was so hard for me to say NO, I would of had icecream with him.  Well, I guess I will eat some more grapes. hang in there everyone!! We can do this, just takes time and will power.

What is the couch to 5K? I have heard about it a few times and it sounds interesting. Thanks for the support ladies.
