1. ever since i was a teenager i've yo-yo'd between 135 and 150lbs. I generally hoover around 141 when i'm not paying attention. I've always ran a good amount but only in the past year have i been looking at what i'm placing in my mouth.

2. i have used this website since april or may i think.

3.   I made my wieght goal this past May (135). Hooray! I just started grad school and have gained 4 pounds back:(. i want to talk to others that are dealing with the same stresses so that I can maintain my weight and resist those large pieces of free pizza.

4. i am just starting on my way to getting my PhD in immunology. I love the lab i am in. I have the same cat I had since i was 9 years old. i enjoy running and I just recently got the nike ipod run. I am soooo looking forward to using that.

I hope to hear from you guys fairly soon.

I am hoping that this group isn't completly dead since I really like the idea of a grad student group. It is hard to post on the student groups because, let's face it, we're different!

1. My history with weightloss has not been one of much woe but I know that I have to watch myself. My family's eating habits were always on the compulsive side and I have many overweight family members because of this.

2. I started with CC a year ago as a way to follow through with my first ever new year's resolution.  The stress of grad school had resulted in a 30 pound gain that was making me feel sluggish. I had tried to turn things around with exercise alone, but found that I didn't see the results I wanted until I joined this site last January (and made a stubborn effort to DO IT)  I am down about 25 pounds and have kept it off much of this year. my 2009 resolution will be to get to my goal of 130 and stay there!

3. ^

4.  I am a 3rd year grad student at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, md going for my PhD in Mech Engineering. I get into all sorts of hobbies.. sewing, knitting, beading, biking, rock climbing. pole dancing (for fitness), running, weightlifting, travel, language, culture, photography, etc

Hi, my name is Sam and I go to the University of Michigan, majoring in biophysics with hopes to get into cancer research.

1. History with weight loss: I've always been 115 lbs but have proceeded to gain the freshman 15 this last year.

2. History with Calorie Count: Joined today!

3. Reason for joining this group: Trying to balance my schedule and lose the weight that I want.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I work in a biochem lab on histone demethylases, I also enjoy dancing and drawing.

Hi, I'm Kelly. I just finished my undergrad in Chemistry&Biology at IUP in Pennsylvania, and am now beginning optometry school at Indiana University.

1. History with weight loss: I've always been on the heavy side, as has my whole family. I lost a lot of weight in college (I think getting out of the strict "clean your plate" home mentality and full access to the gym really helped). Unfortunately I gained a lot of it back my senior year when I lived alone off-campus. I was overscheduled with work, classes, and activities.... and was sick a lot, so I rarely made it to the gym, ate out with friends a lot more often (an excuse to see other people) and put on the pounds!  But I am looking to lose all the weight I regained and more. I'm at 180 pounds now, and hope to be down to somewhere between 140 and 150 someday!

2. History with Calorie Count: I found calorie count several years ago during the summer and used it to lose over 20 pounds. During the school year, however, I figured I could keep track on my own of everything, but I just stopped, and then I forgot the name and password to my old account... so here's my new one!

3. Reason for joining this group: I feel like CC really helped me lose the weight when I was dedicated to updating regularly and had a support network, and I think being part of a group of motivated people (like other science students who understand the dedication of long lab-write-up nights) will really help me out! :)

4. Interesting things about me: I used to teach a human anatomy sub-course to Nursing students (with full cadaver dissection), my current (and 7-summers-experience) job involves research on population densities of Box Turtles, and I've shadowed and interned with multiple optometry and ophthalmology offices. My goal is to open my own private practice. I love any outdoor activity, poetry, and music.

Hey y'all!

I'm Anna. I'm not actually in grad. school (yet...) but I did graduate with Env. Sci. and Bio. in undergrad recently. Anyone else in a non-medical related science field?

1. History with weight loss: Looking to lose some.

2. History with Calorie Count: Just started, but love the system... I think it's working?

3. Reason for joining this group: To have fun!

4. Some interesting details about yourself:

I'm a big reader, love running and exercising, theology, art, love my family... live with them in Birmingham, Alabama. I graduated from an art school in high school, Visual Arts, and then went on to major in Environmental Science. Chemistry is really interesting to me but a challenge. Ecology, botany, energy conservation and agriculture are really interesting fields that I love to learn.

And here's something kind of interesting about me; right now I'm hired part-time to take and sale newborn baby photos at hospitals in the area.
