Hi, my name's Celeste and I'm using this site to help me eat healthier in hopes to clear my acne.
I'm also keeping a journal on here because I'm doing a cleanse in hopes that will also help. I know cleanses are kind-of un-scientific (and I'm a Bio major), but I've tried almost everything to clear my cystic acne of one year (from acne kits to birth control). I never used to have cystic acne though I would, from time to time, break out with normal zits. But now my face is scarred and I have purple/red marks from past cysts and I find my confidence waning every day.
If anyone has suggestions of a slightly less expensive method of ridding themselves of acne - available in the states - it would be highly appreciated!
The first thing people notice about you is your appearance... I just hope it's not too late to save mine...
Hello all, My name is Pat I am 60 and want to get healthy. I joined this group because this past year I developed really bad excema. I am hopng that someone has some ideas on how to reduce the itching
My name is Keisha I've been a member of calorie count for a little over a month my reason for joining is I got tired of battling my weight problem alone. Ijoined this particular group because I suffer from moderate acne and acne scars. I also have combination skin, which at times it becomes difficult to find the right products to use. I'm currently a stay at home mom I have two children seventeen and nine thank God neither suffer from skin problems. I hope by joining this group that people will reach out with good advice and support and in return I plan to do the same.
Hey guys... I'm Bethany. I am 19 and usually don't have too much of a problem with my skin (just mild acne). Lately it has been really bad though and right now I have really bad sunburn and poison ivy too... I feel like my skin is revolting against me!!!
Hi.
I'm Canadian. I'm nearly thirty and I have been struggling with acne since puberty.
I don't know if eating habits have an effect on skin, but lately I have been eating more of my favourite foods such as ice cream, cheese and peanut butter and my skin has broken out again. I recently had twins in March and the lack of sleep combined with my cravings had made me gain over ten pounds and left by body soft and flabby.
I really want my skin to improve and I think healthy eating might help. Thanks for listening.
Hello Everyone !!
My name is Bonnie and I am 42, I have never had a weight issue or acne till about a year ago !!
My doctor put me on a high protein low fat low carb diet and told me to quit smoking. He said the high protein diet will help me get the 40lbs off and clear the acne and will also make my hair and nails stronger !!! So we will see !!! Good luck to everyone !!
Hey guys,
Posted here a few months since. I have been on natural progesterone for about 6/7 months now in a bid to help my acne. Well, for about 4 months it did nothing. (apart from rid me of PMS, which wasn't bad!) Then I changed my pattern of using it: two weeks on, one week off (shortened my cycle by a week) and it has worked! I still have lumps under the skin on my cheeks a bit but these are slowly fading and I have had no erupting, sore, red patches for two months now. It's really calmed down tremendously!
It is expensive, but if you have tried everything else and want a final option, you might like to try it. (probably women only though? I don't know) just remember, two weeks on and one week off instead of the two weeks on and two weeks off suggested on the packet.
Hope this helps! Best of luck!
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
