2. I have been a memeber of CC for about two years now, i have lost about 20 pounds so far
3. I love my Wii Fit!!!!!

Hi all,
My husband, Fred, & I just love our Wii Fit and I'm happy to see this group. A little history.......
I can't remember not being overweight and have probably tried almost every diet around. Fred has only had a problem with weight in the last few years but his joining me here at CC has helped so much. We joined CC in July 2008 and are so happy we found it. I've lost about 30 lbs and Fred about 22 lbs.
We joined this group to find more fans of the Wii Fit......two of our friends have bought them and we enjoy a little friendly competition when we get together.
We joined to have a place to journal our food and exercise both at home and away. I have come to love the community here and look forward to reading posts everyday.
I am unemployed at the moment and loving it........Fred is an IT manager. We have two grown daughters and two grandchildren. Our youngest is getting married in November! We both love to read and listen to books on CD (they makes long car rides seem short!) Fred enjoys soccer and is a retired referee and enjoys playing and writing music. I enjoy gardening and photography. Our biggest joy is our grandchildren.....we can't get enough of them. As the saying goes "if I'd known how much fun grandchildren were I would have had them first" We have four spoiled cats who allow us to share the house with them!
Hi! this sounds like a fun group so I'm in - My name is Julie and I'm 39.
History with weight loss - weight has been an issue with me since high school -- as I was more "curvy" than most. I was actually hospitalized with an eating disorder when I was in college (21) yet after marriage, my weight ballooned up to 273!
History with Calorie Count Have been a member here since March 2007 - after getting back from an extended family vacation and saw family photos of me on the beach at 273 pounds -- and also seeing family members who were struggling to keep up and having health issues - I wanted to get better, not worse! I've lost just over 100 pounds so far -- although like many these last 20-25 are the big challenge!
Reason for joining this group - I love my wii fit - (and the wii in general) I needed an indoor alternative exercise - and we don't have the space or fundage for large equipment like a treadmill - weather and the kiddo don't always allow for me to go outside for exercise.
me? (or should I say mii?) interesting, I'll leave that up to you :D I'm married to my wonderful dh of 13 years as of next week. Our 7yo nephew has been a part of our family for just over 2 years. Dh (thomas) is also working on getting into better shape and losing weight - although he tends to use the gym at work more than wii fit. I am senior program staff and childcare/day camp director for a youth development agency and live in beatiful (yet constant shift in the weather and great extremes!) central Iowa. We love to geocache and travel -- especially Disney vacations (we are heading down for 8 and a half days at WDW at the end of October).
My favorite wii fit "activity" is the advanced step -- and I just pre-ordered the Jillian Micheals Fitness Ultimatum 2009 (that uses the balance board) and will be excited to use that when I return from vacation.
Hi, my name is Clara. I'm 31, and just had my 3rd and final baby 2 months ago and am ready to get into shape. I've been overweight since I was 9 years old, and have never stuck to a diet/exercise plan longer than a few weeks. I am 5' 10". Mostly my weight has gone up up up, weighting 180 in high school, 220 when I got married, and now I'm at 250... 3 kids later. I'd like to get back to the 180 mark by my child's first birthday... July 2009.
I'm trying to find some support online, that's how I came across this site, hoping someone can keep me motivated. I'm currently using my Wii Fit and enjoying that. I've borrowed my friend's Gazelle to see if I
like that before I buy another piece of equipment that will collect
dust. My oldest starts preschool in a few weeks and while she's in
school, I'm going to take the other two to walk the mall for the two
hours she's in school. I'd like to join a gym, but can't afford to at
this time. I used to have a membership, but never went. I'm serious
this time, I need energy to run after these kids, hahaha. And I need
my cholesterol to go down, it's 246.
Hi everyone,
I'm Cyndi and I'm 34 and have 3 kids..6,4,and 1
History with weight loss...I have a terrible history, but don't we all otherwise why would we be here![]()
History with Calorie Count:..I was searching to check calories on something and now...here I am
Reason for joining this group: I've been doing this yo-yo thing way too long, and finally I'm fed up....things are going to change. I just found a wii fit, finally and I hope this group brings me some much needed motivation.
Wow! 6 members already! Welcome to all of you who are new and good job on making the decision to use your WII to help you get/ stay in the shape you want . Please feel free to tell others about this group too. Lets build our membership as we build our friendships with eahc other.
Feel free to add me as a "friend!"
Hey everyone!
My name is Kate and I'm a 15 y/o BABY when it comes to weight loss. Oh, and I'm a sucker for Wii Fit <3
1. Gained weight as soon as I started puberty when I was 10. Pretty young, but I was pretty tall.
2. Started CC+ at Feb 29 2008 and gained/lost 8 pounds since. My weight now is bigger than what I started, so now is the time to get rid of it :D.
3. SUCKER for Wii Fit <3. I LOVE IT! I do the Body Test every morning before running after the school bus LOL. And do the Free Step for 30 minutes. I also strength/cardio train in a gym 3 times a week.
4. I'd suggest we get to know each other :D. THAT'S the best way to know someone. Of course, you can check out my myspace (http://myspace.com/babyboo164) or contact me on my CC+ profile :D
Kate--
I also started gaining weight as soon as I started puberty.
Understand that puberty is a time of your life when it is TOTALLY APPROPRIATE for a young woman to gain weight. During pregnancy is another time.
Your body is changing from the body of a child to the body of an adult female--one who has all the appropriate "secondary sexual characteristics" (boobs, hips, thighs, and yes, a little fat!) that signals that you are an "adult" and that you are a "totally able to reproduce female of the homo sapiens sapiens race"
Your body is changing incredible amounts during puberty! Your body NEEDS fat storage in order to have enough calories to grow and change properly.
DO you mind telling me how tall you are and how much you weigh? For an adult woman, Normal weight Body Mass Index can range anywhere from 18.5-24.9. Body Mass is calculated based on your Mass (weight) and height. There is a nifty calculator here at www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
Also understand that as your body changes, you can gain or lose anywhere from 1-6 pounds in a single day, and this is TOTALLY appropriate and ok! Your body may retain or use water in preparation for a growth spurt, it might be close to the time when you will have your menses, or any other number of reasons.
Try wieghing yourself at the same time, every OTHER day!
So here's my little ditty...
I've always been heavy, but in the past three years I got even heavier than I could handle. I hit the scale at 275 when I started CC....
One year later, I'm down 75 lbs and just got under 200 for the first time in 11 years! I thought this group would help justify my obsession with DDR on the Wii and Rythym Boxing on Wii Fit.
Hmm...interesting thing about me...I coach flag football for K-3 grades...not many other moms out there doing that!
My name is Kelli and I've been a member on Calorie Count for a few months.
I've always had problems in the past sticking to an exercise routine. I admit it, I hate exercise! My weight over two years ago was at it's highest, 234 lbs. And then I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2. It was a shock since my mother had just passed away a few months prior and she was diabetic. I was only 37 at the time and it was just scary to think that I was diabetic too.
Immediately I changed so many things about my life. My diet was the biggest one and over a year I lost 60 lbs. It was a good start but I wanted to do more and I just couldn't seem to find an exercise program that I could stick too.
I joined this group a few months back and I've been off and on and used a lot of the features and really found it to be helpful. I bought my Wii a few weeks ago and I'm proud to say that I've been using it almost every single day and I'm not tired of it at all. It's the perfect way for me to wind down after a day at work and I'm truly suprised that my favorite activity has become the running. I love to just get on and run. I have a treadmill and I use that with the Wii Fit running exercise and it works out so well. I feel tired but good when I'm finished. I'm new at all of it so it's going to take me some time to get up to "speed" but I'm keeping at it.
I also enjoy the other exercises, even the balance games, and right now they are all still challenging to me. I'm hoping to get to a point where they are easy and I'll need to step things up! I'm always proud when I finish anything and I've unlocked almost everything (except the plank challenge... I hate the plank but I'm determined to master it).
As for me, I'm single but have a wonderful boyfriend for the past 3 1/2 years. I have two cats who think I'm crazy when I do all this running stuff but they love to lay behind me when I do the jackknife so I can pet them when I bring my hands back down after each turn. They act like they are helping me! LOL! I work a typical 40 hour week Mon-Fri so I tend to workout the same time every day in the afternoons when I get home. On weekends I try to do a little more aerobics then I do on weekdays and maybe a longer workout.
I think getting the Wii Fit was the best thing I could do for myself and I can't wait to tell my doctor that I now workout every day for at least 30 minutes (and some days for an hour).
Since I've lost weight and started working out, I've been able to reduce my diabetes medication by half (doctor's instructions of course) and I'm hoping to lose another 40-50 pounds so I can completely get off my medication and control my disease with diet and exercise.
Thanks for letting me get that all out!
welcome! sounds like you are doing great! I have an appt. at my dr. tomorrow to check my cholesterol after being off meds for about a month to see if I can stay off - I've never been so excited for a blood letting! Diabetes runs in my family as well, so although I haven't been diagnosed, it's a real concern.
I also know what you mean about the running, it can be very relaxing once you get into it -- although I struggle with the stupid remote since I don't have pockets in any of my exercise pants, so I just slide it under the waistband, and on the longer runs - it usually slides...... lol.
Sounds like your cats learned well -- everything you do is just for them!
I'm Amber. I'm 24, and I've always been a little heavy, but after I got married I gained aboiut 30 pounds. Over the past year I have lost all of the weight I gained then, but I am still wanting to lose about 20 more pounds. I have only been on CC for about a month and a half. calorie counting is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I do light excersize, and once I get to my goal weight, I will up my excersize more. In November of 2007 I weighted about 165. When I started Calorie Count in late September I was 144 and now I'm at 137! My goal is 115-120. (I'm 5'2 very small frame).
I LOVE WII FIT YOGA!

Welcome! We would love get to know you, so please tell us a little bit about yourself. You can choose any format you'd like, but most of us here share some or all of the following details:
1. History with weight loss:
2. History with Calorie Count:
3. Reason for joining this group:
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
And now just go ahead and make that first post!
Hi all! I guess I'll make it a quick intro. I joined this group to try to get the most out of my Wii Fit. It seems encouraging that so many of you like step--I only have the basic level, and it's too darn slow for me!
Anyhow...
1. Got chubby as a kid/teen. Lost weight between 8th and 9th grade. Kept it off until grad school. Gained in grad school/first two years of marriage. Lost 41 lbs with 5-10 to go.
2. CC helped me drop that post-grad-school 41 lbs. :-) I joined at the end of May.
3. Oops, already explained that.
4. I'm a mechanical engineer. I have a wonderful husband and may soon get a dog. I love running and am using the Fit mainly to monitor my progress and to round out my running (strength, balance, flexibility) and to have something to do when the weather is really terrible.
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
