Hi! I'm Marshy and I live in Flagler Beach, FL. I am 30 years old, married and  graphic designer.

I have never been an appropriate size, I was 13 pounds when i was born, lol. I was a size 16 in women's in Kindergarten. I was always huge but alwats active. I am 30 now and I have lost approx. 45 pounds in the last 6 months.

Last year, after finally being able to afford medical insurance, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and high blood pressure as well as high cholesterol.

I am working hard towards getting rid of all these pills.

I lost the first 45 pounds using calorie king, but I needed something better. That's how I ended up here and I found it by total accident.

I created this group because I couldn't find one similar.

So welcome!

Hiya, it's nice to be here. I'm sort of in the "alternative" category.

If you're curious about me, you can always click on the picture of my funny face on the upper left hand corner to go to my indecently long profile.

Nice to meet you!

Oooh, a group.  I'm glad to be here.  I'm not anything specific, so "alternative" I guess.   Thanks for starting it up!

Hello! I'm 23 and live in Arizona as a stay-at-home mom. I'd describe myself as 50% Wicca and 50% everything else. I find religion fascinating and love learning about different beliefs around the world.

I love learning about beliefs as well. If I can figure it out I will add to the description- or an ecclectiv mix of any and all thoughts a beliefs or something to that effect:)

Glad to see other people are interested in this group! yay!

Merry Meet!

My name is Melissa and I'm from Las Vegas, NV. I'm 26 and feel horrible. I've always been large, even as a kid, but I was always an athlete. Now that I'm no longer an athlete, I'm losing some muscle mass and it is turning to jello. LOL. I grew up in the Midwest so there was ALWAYS something active to go do. Now I work in an office and don't do much actively as I should.

I am married (which is how I got this humongous...). When I met my husband 4 1/2 years ago, I was 175 pounds and active. Now, I'm 265 pounds and only lightly active. He is very loving and supportive, but his idea of a good time is sitting around watching movies and having dinner. He isn't like I am. I'd rather take a weekend and go explore somewhere hiking and finding new things... example, my husband and I went to Rhyolite, NV last January and explored the old mining town which is now a "ghost town". We hiked around the uneven terrain for a good 8 hours, climbed a mountain side to see an old mine shaft entrance, then went to the museum in Beatty, NV and walked around there for another hour. It was one of the most exiting things we've done since we met! We also go camping a few times a year, though I'd like to go more often.

I've had a hard time losing the weight I've gained over the past 4 years. It's been up and down constantly. I'll get into a good cycle where I'll drop a good 40 - 50 pounds, but within a few months I've got half of it back. And now, I'm right back to where I started. I actually found this site by accident when looking up information on calories burned for particular activities. I joined this site in hopes of finding like-minded people with similar goals to help keep me on the right track.

As for this group in particular, I have been a "pagan" my entire life. My heritage lies in Celtic and Native American tracks. There really isn't a "classification" for the path that I am on though. It is a mix between herbalism, celtic belief, native american spirituality and homeopathy. My grandfather started instilling native american beliefs and ceremony when I was around 6 years old. I have followed his advice and taken to a Shamanistic approach to life. I love learning more about different paths and especially learning more about the path I'm on. I have taken various courses in world religions and have studied many different paths on my own. None have provided the fulfilled feeling that my heritage has provided so I have stuck with the path I've known my entire life.

My goals are obviously weight loss, but more importantly to feel good again. I have set mini-goals for myself and set up a points system to reward myself for consistency (like drinking my 8 glasses of water or staying within my calories) as well as small weight loss goals... when I get enough points, I'll get a reward (things like a new pair of jeans, a work-out dvd, some new music for my MP3 player, etc.).

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and getting through this "challenge" together.

Blessed Be,

Melissa

Hi Group!

I'm Kittie and I live in NYC.  I'm 28 and joined this site today (and this group) to help kick start my weight loss :)  I've always been a little chunky and I'm naturally big boned.  I will never be a size 4 :)

Just wondering what you all have experience as far as matching the set weights for your heights?  According to my height (5'2") I should be in the 120lbs category.  I'm 150ish now and I would love to lose 15 or so lbs.  But I'm not sure about ever getting to 120 or below.  The only times I've even been that weight, I looked almost too thin for my frame.  Does anyone know if the height/weight charts take into account for what frame size you naturally are?

For background on joining this group- I've always been interested in Paganism, Wicca and the Occult.  Most recently i've discovered Thelema and really embraced it.  Have any of you found your beliefs to help/hinder your weight loss goals?

1. History with weight loss:Use to be thin...... After kids..Stuck and needing to lose 50 lbs. Really stuck !

2. History with Calorie Count:I am NEW and Excited to try something new...

3. Reason for joining this group: LOL This is the only group I could belong with.. I think someone would figure it out sooner are later.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

Hello,

A little about me.....

I have a few jobs, a few professions and own a small business (I dislike the the daily realm but it pays the bills).

I am a Mother (of 5), Wife (17 years), Grandmother (6 girls so far) and everything in between.......... (I am NOT am Old Witch only 40)

I am homeschooling youngest child... (Done with the craziness)

Getting back to ME and MY self...........   Meditation is on my gotta do list.

I Have 3 boxers, 2 black mask lovebirds, 1 cockatoo, 1 cockatiel and a 26 lbs CAT..

So glad there is a PAGAN GROUP.........

Is that to much info ?  Cool

Does anyone still belong to this GROUP ? Hello ...... Anyone there ????????? 07/20/09

Yay for a pagan group!  JUST.  YAY.  ::happy dances:::

I am here to also lose some weight.  I am psyched to see other pagans on here!  I will be updating a lot and such.

I was once 200 lbs at my 25th bday.  It freaked me out.  I lost 55 lbs. and was 145 when I went back to school and fell off of the wagon.  I'm now 172 and looking to be 130-135 range despite CC's theory that I should be 120.  If I get there score, added bonus...but I know my body and it plateaus at 160 range and then again at 150!  So 130-135 will have me be in the healthy BMI and that's what I'm here for... health.  I'm trying to eat better foods.

I have a cat, camper.  I have a fella whom I adore.  I have... to get to work or I'll be late but I really truly am grateful to whomever made this group!

OH I've been pagan since I was about 21.  So fairly new on this path and I love reading and studying all religions really.  More on that later though!

Love and light,

Myna

1. History with weight loss:

I was mildly over weight most of grade school, but then I shot up when I started college. I had a bad habit of eating when I was nervous, and not exercising enough. I did Weight Watchers for a while, but with my ability to eat more zero points veggies than any one would be able to believe, I had to find a better way to control my snacking. My main goal is to eat healthy.

2. History with Calorie Count:

I'm a newbie here, but I think that a group might be helpful.

3. Reason for joining this group:

It will help me stay motivated.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I have two furry loves, my kitties. They are the loves of my life. I am getting an undergraduate degree in Humanities, my favorite subjects being philosophy and psychology. I also have a passion for computer programing and cooking (I became vegan and it sparked a love of cooking).

Hello! my name is liz. im 26 and 5'3". when i started on CC i was at 225 lbs and my goal is to get to 150 lbs.

1. History with weight loss: well, ive been overweight my whole life. i never have really dieted. ever. as an emotional eater, ive never been disciplined enough to stick to "trying to eat a little healthier" for longer than 2 weeks.

2. History with Calorie Count: ive been here for almost a month and have found the site to be indispensable. i log everything i eat and spend way too much time going through the forums and articles. so far i have lost 10 lbs and attribute it to (somehow) finding willpower, my fiance's support and CC!!

3. Reason for joining this group: i was in college when i stumbled on the Complete Idiots Guide to Paganism and almost cried reading the "you are probably a pagan if" section. growing up in a catholic family and a buddhist/native american spiritualities family, and finding things from both paths that resonated with me, i finally felt that i found where i belonged. the beautiful ritual and tradition of Catholicism and the reverance for nature and the "everyone is welcome" ideals of my other familes beliefs were able to merge and be cherished within paganism in a way i never thought possible. since then i have been a solitary, meshing celtic and wiccan beliefs along with my own. im hoping to find spiritual support as i go about my path of becoming healthier.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: i work at bath and body works a few hours a week but mostly, i am a house-fiancee. my fiance and i live in San Diego with our 2 kitties Gaia and Luna. we love going on walks around Mission Bay, going to the zoo and to disneyland!! last time we went to disneyland we took a pedometer and found out we walked 10 miles!!  my interests are my fiance, crafting (i love to cross stitch my own celtic knot designs), reading (fantasy, books on paganism or history), watching movies, and im slowly learning that i do like to cook :)

My name is Rosy, I live in Orlando, Fl. I am 26, 155lbs, and 5'1". My goal is to be 120-130lbs.

1.  I started out my life dainty and have grown larger over the years. I have a small bones, so even though I am not really heavy, I don't fit my frame. I want to get to a healthy size. I don't want to look hungry, I have been there and didn't care for it. Yet I don't want to feel like a stuffed sausage in a pair of great jeans.

2. I have just started using calorie count, but have used fitday and was content with it. But wanted friends

3. I joined calorie count because I was sent and email, and felt curious.

4. I have a degree in Graphic Design and I am currently attempting to get into Rollins College to get my Bachelors in Critical Media. I am also going to be moving into my mother in law's and I suspect that I will be cooking for more victims, I mean a larger family soon.  I want to start eating a grain free higher good fat diet. I love food blogs, such as Elana's Pantry, Mark's Daily Apple, Nourishing Gourmet, and The Nourished Kitchen.
