Hi! I'm Marshy and I live in Flagler Beach, FL. I am 30 years old, married and  graphic designer.

I have never been an appropriate size, I was 13 pounds when i was born, lol. I was a size 16 in women's in Kindergarten. I was always huge but alwats active. I am 30 now and I have lost approx. 45 pounds in the last 6 months.

Last year, after finally being able to afford medical insurance, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and high blood pressure as well as high cholesterol.

I am working hard towards getting rid of all these pills.

I lost the first 45 pounds using calorie king, but I needed something better. That's how I ended up here and I found it by total accident.

I created this group because I couldn't find one similar.

So welcome!

Hello. I'm new to CC. I'm 38, 190lbs, 5'10 and need to lose 30 lbs This is my first time attempting a 'diet' I have zero knowledge about counting calories so I'm trying to figure out how this can work for me, I'm feeling a little lost.

I listen mostly to Heavy Metal and Punk. I have 18 tattoos and 13 piercings. At one time I was doing modeling in print ads featured in Revolver, Unrestained and Hot Topic magazines. I like to go to concerts when I can squeeze them into my schedual.

Hha, i forgot about this, whoops.

I'm chelle, 17 from Ontario.

I was always a chubby kid. My parents had me late (they're in their 60s now) so I wasn't as active with them in devolopmental years. Following five years of my childhoodbeing filled with abuse and trauma, i devolped eating disorders. When I was 13 I was 5'7 and 85lbs. because of some errors in my charts at the hospital i was treated at i gained ALOT more than i should have. by second semester grade nine i was 160 lbs. things sort of continued in this pattern until now that i'm a highschool senior i'm 204 at 5'7. I'm just trying to get healthy without losing weight using the only ways i know. if that made sense.

My music taste really wanders around. I'm into punk, ska, psychobilly, and canadian indie. as for tattoos and percinings, i have one tattoo (on my side/ribcage which i got at 16 without the consent of my parents whooops) and my septum peirced. which i always keep flipped up because it looks soooo stupid.

uh, well. Hi. :)

hello im andrea

ive pretty much been flabby the 14 years ive been alive ....im 161lbs and im 5'4''

too bad ill just lose some weight lol...sounds easy

i cant fit in with everyone else so i just go whatever way i want to go wow that sounds complicated

i like music that makes me feel excited like korn, thrice, celtic frost or sumin like that...........of course im going to get a tattoo....when im old enough errrrrr

Hi

Not in to sharing my real name - sorry guys call me paranoid.

I'm from New Zealand - otherside of the world!

Not majorly overweight but could be better. Need to eat healthier, exercise more. Have battled depression on and off. Doing pretty good now.

I'm not hard core punk or anything but I can bost a couple of tats and pieceings plus I love rock music, metallica, limp biscuit, linkin park, ACDC, Nickleback plus some of the old school - black sabbath, Alice cooper, deep purple, Jimi etc

I'm 29, no kids and not planning on them (at this stage anyway). Got 2 dogs and a cat and a husband so they keep me pretty busy. Would love to see more bands but they dont often come to my city cause smaller population.

Last gig I went to I think was Snow Patrol (okay thats mainstream but I still like them). Music is pretty key for as far as motivation goes.

Thats it...

Hi all,

I'm Victoria, I live in Austin, moved here about 3 years ago from Memphis. I have a cat named Mafia & go to school for Library Sciences. Travel, music and food are my holy trinity.  I've gained about 20 pounds since moving to Austin and I'm currenty trying to lose my Texas weight. Interesting that moving out of the dirty south, away from fried green tomatoes & cornbread caused me to blow up, but there you have it! I'm 29 years old, 142 right now with a goal of 127.  I have tattoos... BIG back piece and arms, took the majority of my piercings out a long time ago... my body never did get used to them.

I discovered calorie count randomly about a year ago, and since my lethargy + school + work + love of cooking & food got me to a higher weight, I'm on Calorie Count to get myself in check!

I joined this group simply because it was the only one here that pertained to a certain genre I suppose I am part of. I'm an old punk rocker with a corporate job, but I still love all music! Punk mostly Articles of Faith, Bad Religion, Jawbreaker, Criminal Damage, the usual... everything else I listenm to is all over the map so i won't go into it.

Hey everyone.

I'm Shae. I live in Memphis and I guess you can say, I was into punk waaay before it became what it is today. I'm 24 and I've been struggling with my weight ever since I graduated from high school in 2003 (I stopped playing soccer when I went to college). I ended up gaining 70lbs over 5 years and I'm looking to lose that same 70lbs. I've yo-yo dieted over the past 5 years and realized that the reason why I could keep the weight off was because I had no support whatsoever. I've been with CC since 2006, and around that time I had already lost 30lbs only to gain it back when my boyfriend of 3 years broke up with me in June 2007. Now I'm back and more determined to lead a healthier lifestyle versus losing weight. I'm also coming back to CC for two reasons: my doc said I need to lose weight and heart disease/cancer/diabetes runs in my family and today I lost a cousin to uterine cancer. She's inspired me to take care of my body.

I joined this group because even though I've grown up and may not be considered as the punk I was once before, it still lives inside me and comes out ever now and again. I'm still a rocker chick, but because of work (I work in retail where our store is supposedly "the warmest, friendliest place in the mall!" - God, I miss working at Hot Topic lol) and I'm going to nursing school - visible piercings and tattoos are strictly forbidden. It's refreshing to talk to people with the same interests.

My name is Jacque. I just moved to NM from CA. I was a drug addict in ca due to friends and an ex... so i moved away to strighten up my life. I have 13 tattoos at last count. My two favorites are my half sleeve and the tattoo of a monkey humping a coconut on my leg...lol random i know!   I've been clean for a year. Bought a house (yay 22 with my own house how cool!), have a good steady job and a loving boyfriend. After i stopped doing drugs i gained a lot of weight... that combined with a blown knee (played soccer professionally for two years and on leagues for 15) haven't worked out much. My boyfriend is very sedentary so it's hard to work out around him. Plus i work ten hour days so there isn't much time after i get off work to work out.

I love my trucks (have two), my dogs ( a pit and a lab ) I love hardcore, metal, punk, rock, country, indie, techno... a little bit of everything. Addicted to tattoos and hair dye Hoping this support will help me lose some weight

Well My name is Kelly I am 26 Years of age just got out of a crazy 2 year relationship with someone that I truly beleive is my soul mate. and Moved into my first home alone, not the brightest move since I have a paranoia of someone sneaking in my home while i am sleeping. or that there is someone living in my unused upstairs. Recently confirmed no one lives upthere. and I am brand New to calorie Count. I joined about 3 days ago. and So far am liking the jist of It.

I thought I'd join the group since I am not absolutly cookie cutter I don't have tatoos or peircing. mostly do to this incredibly fear of needles, I have to go to a pediatric clinic just to get blood drawn for normal tests and things. I work for the department of job and family services in ohio for one of the biggest metropolitan areas. Lets just Say this economy is making my life miserable at work. In the last year I have put on 30 lbs, which is incredibly bad considering i was already considerably curvacious.I am the girl at the concert that you see that does not look like she belongs there. I enjoy sitting in the courner listening to the band not the singer, wearing my cardigan and incredible preppy cardigan jeans rolled up way before katie holmes thought she'd jack my style i've been sporting the cardigan t shirt flats or penny loafers since 1998 i was so uncool then.

I listen to all types of music. I do collect Vinyl which has become a newly discovered money pit since i love everything and want it all. I love current groups like Beck, the duke spirit, seether ( non commercially played stuff), white stripes, The Who and the foo fighters.

Hello everyone this sounds like my group in that I am a very diverse person.

To start off with I have lost around 100lbs since starting CC in Sep 07. All my life I have been overweight. I had lost some of it when I was younger and of course it came back. At one point in my life I weighted 340 and I am only 6'. I did lose about 100lbs then and well put 60 back on. I never got back to my heaviest. Then in the summer of 07 I simply decided I needed to get healthy. My goal was simple and complex at the same time. I simply wanted to wear normal sized clothes (small through extra-large), be able to sit in any seat and be comfortable, and to be physically able to do whatever I wanted to do. Later I added that I wanted to be below 220 since that is where on BMI I crossed from being obese to overweight. I am now bouncing around a little from 180 to 190. I have been this weight longer than any of my lower weights before. I feel better and this is the lowest weight of my adult life. I think the last time I was this weight I was like 11 or 12.

My history with calorie count is simple by counting calories I was able to eat the proper amount of food. I learned what were the better foods for my body. When I ate the amount of food for the size body I should have my body responded and I lost weight and quickly. Calorie count makes me accountable for what I put in my mouth. I guess I tend to be competitive so I always try for the best grade I can get everyday. Most days I do pretty good but many times I can't eat the foods I want to and as a result my grade suffers.

Reason for joining this groups are simple I am a very diverse person, one minute I am a rocker the next a country hick and the next I slip into biker mode. I love classic rock and I am finding I like several of the new groups also.

My interest are riding my bike, running, and pretty much anything outdoors.

1. History with weight loss: I was born chunky and been at different degrees of chunkyness throughout my life. I have been trying to lose weight for several years with a low weight of 148 and a high weight of 180. Right now I'm at 158 still trying to reach my goal of 130.
2. History with Calorie Count: I'm new here as of yesterday.
3. Reason for joining this group: I have been slowly morphing into goth since about september and do consider myself goth now so I thought I''d probably fit in here.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm 18 and in college studying to be a vet tech. I'm looking forward to starting a work study job in the college library on the 6th. I have a large family that does not support me in my weight loss efforts. I have six cats that are like my children and want to get a dog/s as soon as I have a place of my own.  As for hobbies I like geocaching, bicycling, sailing, scuba diving, music, watching movies, and more!

Walkingwiki here...

1. History with weight loss: More like history with weight gain... there's no loss about it. However that is going to change this year.

2. History with Calorie Count: Joined today for the first time

3. Reason for joining this group: Shooting for around 90lbs in the next 18 months

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a geek, that likes video games and reading. Which lends itself to sedentary lifestyle, so trying to find other active pursuits.

All in all, I am tattoed, pierced, geeky.

1. History with weight loss:

I've been overweight from about the age of 7 years old and have always struggled with weight loss. I followed the weight watchers plan about 8 years ago and lost a stone then continued to try any possible diet i could find.

I started making myself sick about 4 years ago, a number of things contributed through the years to get me to that stage. I've been to councelling sessions etc to help conquer it but nothings seemed to work for longer than a week then im back at it, im now trying with a balanced diet and exercise to shed the pounds in a sensible way and hope to drop around 3 stone by July 2009

2. History with Calorie Count:

I stumbled upon this site whilst writing my food diary on excel and looking for calories in certain foods. I've found it really helpful and easy to use so am now using this daily to log my food & exercise.

3. Reason for joining this group:

I find it really useful and helpful to meet and talk to people who are trying to do the same thing i am and enjoy helping people acheive goals etc, this group looked cool and alternative, with some down to earth people.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I work in Insolvency as an administrator dealing with peoples debts and putting them into plans to help them become debt free. I used to do volunteer work and training at a radio station for 3 years prior

In an ideal world i'd love to live in Africa and live amongst the wildlife or travel the world in a big bus going from place to place exploring all the cultures the world has to offer

Hey strange gals:

I had an awesome model body all through school, but since turning 21 and drinking like a fish while bartending,  I've gradually put on 20-25lbs.  I've been warring with 10lbs for two years now, and my end goal is to drop those 20ish lbs.  I also dance (many styles including modern and bellydance) and am involved with a tv show in Pittsburgh that broadcasts weekly.  I am the busty sex symbol.  I don't want to be the slightly-chubby sex symbol or bad-excuse-for-a-sex-symbol. ha.  I also just returned to school for the first time in 3 years (I am 24), which will help curb my drinking.

I would consider joining our local roller derby (www.steelcityderbydemons.com) for exercise and fun in fishnets but I don't want to knock my teeth out.  Is there any derby girls out there?  You girls rock.

I love Jethro Tull, Mudhoney, Radiohead and KMFDM.  Recently I've been obsessed with Bulgarian Beat Box and T. Rex's "20th Century Boy".  woo.

Hey there.  I'm new to CC and I'm kind daunted by it.  I'm not really into the calorie counting thing and because I'm a college student I'm wondering how long it'll last.

1. History with weight loss:  I've always been a smaller framed girl, but gradually put on weight.  I like working out, but I did drink a bit too much over the summer while I was at an internship and I tend to eat out more than cook.  While I do have a goal weight, I'm looking more to improving my habits, than to lose weight.

2. History with Calorie Count: I'm new.  Hopefully I'll remember to update the food and activity log.  It's daunting o.o;.

3. Reason for joining this group: I wanted to learn how to eat healthier.  Working out hasn't been a problem for me and do to college, I'm pretty active.  However I'm Puerto Rican which means fry food, oily food, sugars, and little to non consumption of vegetables most of my life.  So hopefully eating a bit better will make me healthier.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I'm in Computer Science and I'm looking to being a software engineer when I graduate.  I love cats, not too big on dogs.  I love anime and most types of rock and heavy metal music.  Because I love anime,  I also love j-pop and j-rock.  Especially since American music...has slowly gotten lame.

That's all folks.

Hello.  I'm Beatrice aka Betty aka Bipsy.

1. History with weight loss:  I have been battling with extra weight for the last 7 years.  I have gained weight then lost it all only to gain it all back and more.

2. History with Calorie Count:  I first joined in July 2008.  After a few weeks I forgot about it.  Now I am back.

3. Reason for joining this group:  I found in the past that when I have some place to go for advice or to rant I am more motivated to stick with it.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I'm a costume designer for film and television here in Los Angeles.  I've worked on some interesting projects and some really bad ones.  But every gig is a learning experience.  I am married to the man of my dreams.  We are childfree and will stay that way as far as human children are concerned.  We do have a house full of furry children we love and spoil.  We have 2 corgis, and 5 cats.  These are our joint pets.  I have a few that are mine and mine alone- my 10 girlie mice.  My husband has 3 aquariums that are his.  2 are full of guppies and the third is a huge tank with 2 beautiful koi.  When we are not working we enjoy spending the evening at Disneyland or staying home watching cheesy movies(some of the ones I worked on too).  Mostly we are home bodies fixing up our 110 year old house.

I support you on the human child free thing, and I love my fur babies (2 dogs, 1 cat) to bits. Your job sounds so cool and interesting, have you worked on any box office movies? I am from New Zealand and had friends that worked on Lord of The Rings Trilogy (doing sculpture prototypes etc)

If Box Office you mean big billion dollar movies... yes but not for costuming.  I worked on the first Pirates movie as a stunt person.  A lot of the stunt and background actors on that film are people I know socially and go camping with.  I worked at Disneyland back in the day doing some stunts for the parade and fireworks shows.  They asked if I'd like to do their new Johnny Depp movie in the stunt department and I said yes.  You have to understand I was about 110 lbs at this point in my life.

I have done some minor work on smaller budget films that make it to the Scifi channel and Discovery.  Nothing to write home about but enough to pay the bills and keep me neck deep in vintage shoes and purses.

Have you heard (met) kiwi stunt woman Zoe Bell? She was Zena Warrior Princess (Lucy Lawless - another cool kiwi chic) stunt double. She also did stunts on Trantino's Kill Bill and recently starred (and stunted) in Death Proof.

Stunt work looks like heaps of fun (although I guess painful if it goes wrong). Plus what a fun way to keep fit!

Hi all

I got introduced to online gaming 3 years ago. And stopped doing any physical activities or eating healthy. Subsequently I gained alot of weight and my level of physical fitness went down dramaticaly. I stopped almost 2 months ago and I am now on a mission to get fit. I started exercising and eating better, but thought I could do even better by keeping track of what I eat and its nutritional value, which is why I came to this site. Today is my first day of keeping count!

I have many tatoos. no piercings. And am into mostly punk, oi, and old school ska.

Something interesting: I love to cook from scratch especially oriental and middle eastern foods. I speak english, german & some nederlands. I play bass guitar, and have a pet bunny named bunny :p
