WOW...I'M YOUR FIRST GROUP MEMBER! Honestly I don't typically have the best of luck with weight loss! After having my first child, I gained about 45 lbs...then after my second...I gained another 15! After having my second child, my husband and I started doing P90x....we did really good for about a month...and something happend! Not sure what but thats in the past! Which brings us to today! My husband and I have become fully committed to P90X again! Only this time we are actually going to succeed! Both of us are on calorie count. So far, in a little over a week, I'm down 7.2 lbs! I absolutely LOVE calorie count! It keeps me in check! I joined the group because I think its so great to have someone who knows EXACTLY what you are going through!
About me, I'm married and have two BEAUTIFUL boys (clearly stated above!) I stay at home with the boys for now! I'm hoping to go back to school in the spring to persue a nursing degree....I guess thats it!

That's awesome that you joined this group..I was thinking about deleting it b/c no one was joining.. Thanks for joining!
I have a little girl and work full-time and I am currently going back to school. I had a gym membership but found that it was useless to pay it, b/c I never was able to get there. My husband recently injured his knee severly and he was unable to workout. We decided to get p90x, then we could workout at home and see our little girl too. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time with doing the workouts..I normally only have time in the evening to do it, and I'm talking about starting the workouts at about 1030..Yeah that's kinda late. But I'm doing it..The only workout that I haven't been able to do is the Yoga, but I'm on my 4th week and feeling awesome..
For this forum I would just like to have ya check in and let me know what workout ya did and how it's going for You. Good job and keep up the work!
Congrats on the weight loss!
Dee
Hi!
I'm a 42 year old married man with two children (my daughter is 19, my son is 16).
I'm on day 80 of my first run-through of P90X and loving it! I can do things that I could not do at 24. It's not easy, but the results are definitely worth the effort.
You can read my journal for the details. The Yoga was the hardest workuot for many weeks, but it's part of my routine now.
I also ran a half-marathon recently (had to pause my P90X workouts in order to be ready, but then jumped back into it).
Keep hitting play and keep on bringing it!
Best regards,
---Kayvan
Hello everyone!
My name is Rob and i am a p90x addict ;-P
About 2 years ago i was around 190 on my medium 6'1" frame, i had a lot of health problems popping up , i was a chain smoker , heavy drinker , mt dew addict and i ate tons of fast food (YUCK!)
I quit smoking Feb 8th 2006 and quit drinking soda soon after...fast food followed closely afterwards and i started to do cardio and some small weight lifting (did not really know what i was doing) I lost maybe 10 pounds in a year...i still had a gut but i felt much better. After hitting a plateau for a few months i ended up finding p90x...good timing too because i broke up with my girlfriend of 4 years at the same time. I used that to fuel me.
I started my first round of p90x on may 12th of this year and my lowest weight was 152 (during phase 2 and before i added carbs fully back in) to 162 when i was done.
After the 90 days just kind of worked out off and on and mountain biked. I am in pretty great shape now from it but i have not hit my goal (6 pack abs) so i started my 2nd round this past Monday.
My goal this round is to cut the booze out of my diet and all excess that i can...i really really want to see my abs and i know it is going to be hard. so CUT CUT CUT!
I have not missed a workout yet this week and i dont plan on missing one.
I am going out for the first time since i started it however so it is going to be hard , no soda, no candy , no beer...gotta be good! Going to be hard but i can be tough.
Glad i found a group on here related to the X!
I have to agree with everyone on the Yoga , i still have a real hard time with it...i struggled my ass off last night to get it done and then i fell asleep during corpse pose i was so exhausted. It really is a huge part of this workout...very important.
My favorite workout: Plyometrics , it whoops me into shape and i come out of it soaked in sweat and feeling like a million bucks. My legs look great now between this and mountain biking.
My favorite exercise: Plyo pushups, i think its during core synergistics , when Tony gets airborn on the damn things...first time i saw this i threw a pillow at the screen..now i do em right along with him.
My most improved exercise: Pullups...i went from being able to do 6 reverse grip pullups to doing 25! Talk about improvement
What are some of yours?
-Ubi (Rob)
wow , i type too much.
Hola guys~!
I'm kaybug, and I'm 14 years old. I actually started doing Turbo Jam first, loved it, but on the days I got sick of doing that or I was just too tired, I started doing Stretch X. I loved it, and I always felt great after it. Tony amused me to an extent, so checked out Plyometrics next. At first I kept Plyo, but never did it. Finally, I fearfully pressed the play button on the plyo DVD. To this day, I still don't know what everyone was talking about when they say that it's their least favorite DVD and it's evil or something.
I love plyo! It makes me feel youthful with all the jumping, and an athlete with all the sweating/heavy breathing. It has to be my favorite workout of all the workouts I've done. I don't like Core and Ab Ripper X, though. That's something I want to work on on my next round of P90x: getting over my hate of working my abs so I can build some muscle in that area. @_@
Right now I'm 5'5" and I weigh 138. I'm on Phase 3 of lean, but after this is done, I'm going to try either doubles or classic, depending on my schedule. :)
Hello all,
I joined CC in the last few weeks and it's helped me focus on what i eat and keep tabs on myself.
I just reordered P90X yesterday, I had ordered it at the begining of 2008 tried it for a week and then decided i was not yet physically ready for that challenge so I sent it back before the 90 days trial.
Since then I've lost about 10 additional lbs. and I feel alot stronger and in need of another challenge to drop the next 12-15 lbs and tone up big time. I'd like to look amazing in a bikini this spring/summer 2009.
I truly love being active and feel bad when i can't make it to the gym or outside for a run or walk.
I'm hoping that I'll find the motivation to challenge myself with P90X as well as encourage others to keep it up!
Happy holidays!
Andrea
Hey Guys,
I started P90X about 3 weeks ago. As of last year I dropped a huge dump load of weight and now I need a new trick to tone up and get jacked. Hopefully at the end of 3 months I'll be mining diamonds of gold like my good buddy joe pavino!.....from your hips to your finger tips!....do your best and forget the rest......and always use non dairy in your karen pot stir corn chowder...PEACE OUT HOMIES!
My girlfriend and I started P90X a week ago Sunday (we did the pretest on Saturday). So this is our second week. So far I'm amazed at the results after one week.
I'm 33 years old (34 in May) and weighed 162 lbs when I started. I'm 5'10" and currently sticking strictly to the diet - Fat Shredder 2400 calories (phase 1, level 2). I'm not fat in any way but I have slightly enough of a spare tire to warrant Fat Shredder first.
My favorite exercise by far is Plyometrics with Ab Ripper X right behind it. Kenpo is ok but Yoga X seems to do more. The usual push-up, pull-up, sit-up stuff in general has improved I'd say about 30% for me within 1 week. SO I know this program works.
I'm so glad I found this site though. It makes keeping my meals and calories in order.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of P90X forums out there other than on Beachbodys.com. So I'm glad I ran across this one.
I'll keep updating as I go along.

I started P90X a little over 2 weeks ago and also joined CC about the same time to track. I have noticed some results (lost 3 lbs fat) but haven't lost any weight yet. I am not following the diet to the "T" but I figured enough I would see some more results.
I have definetly noticed results on pull-ups, push-ups, and other items since week 1. My favorite so far would be the Plyometrics, that can make you sweat.
I am 38 years old and weigh 217. I am not so much concerned about my weight because I am 6'4" so I dont look fat. I just dont like my gut.
My goal is to drop my fat percentage to something respectable 15-17%, when I started it was 24.5%. In 2 weeks I have dropped it to 23.0%.
Should I be sticking to the Fat Shredder to drop more fat?
Good luck all.
Shawn

Well, the fat shredder phase is at least the first month, but you can alter it to suit your goals. You should at least be doing it for another couple of weeks, right?
Yeah, I have about 2 more weeks of the Fat Shredder phase. I am finishing up my third week. The last two days I have been doing much better. I think it is just getting used to the foods I can and can't eat at this stage. Hardest part is cutting the carbs. Carbs are so good and in so many things.
Hopefully, when I weigh myself next week I will see some improved results. I can always extend the fat shredder phase another week or two if I need to drop some more fat.
Thanks for the help.
Shawn
Hi guys.
Finishing up my third week here. I was randomly searching for a good calorie counter and bam, found this site. Good to see a P90X group here. It was a rough start with P90X but things are finally falling into place. The first couple weeks are always the hardest. I can say that I could barely get around the house the first few days I was so sore. That is behind me for now.
I will say my collar bones are killing me this week. The chest and back routine was murder this week, but I fought through it. As for the rest of the vids, I didn't have to pause at all. Diet is dialed and continuing to push it hard every day. Feel free to reach out with question or progress.

Hey everyone, how's it going? I just started P90X a week ago and so far I really like it. I've never had a problem with my weight (6'0" 168lbs), but I'm trying to cut my body fat (15% now) so I can get leaner and actually see some definition.
I joined calorie count about a month ago so I really had to think about what I was putting into my body knowing I was going to have to record it before the day was done.
Hmm, interesting things about me...well I just turned 33yrs old and I'm in the Air Force currently stationed in Korea.
Good luck to everyone!
Hi all! So glad I found this group! I have started and stopped, started and stopped p90x a few times now. It always feels great and when I've done it I can really tell the difference, I just have trouble finding the time and, to be honest, getting off my butt to do it!
I want to lose the extra 20-30 pounds I've packed on over the last few years, so I am doing the calorie counter and p90x. With doing both together - limiting myself to 1400 calories a day and doing p90x I am hoping it will do the trick.
I am really bad about starting things off great and then slowly drift away from it. This will be my 3rd or 4th time doing p90x and already I am tempted to skip a day. I wanted to join this so I would have some accountability and to encourage those who might be struggling like me!
Tonight is legs and back... what workout are you on?
I can't believe I didn't know this group was here!
Hi, I'm Erin, or SSS, or Sharpshooter. I was an unathletic bookworm of a child and was pretty overweight into my early 20's (I'm 28 now) I was not happy with myself but only became motivated enough to do something about it when the wedding dress I wanted to wear could not be altered to fit my pudgy body. I lost 20lbs in about 5 months, in time for my wedding, and yes, the dress fit perfectly :) That was 5 years ago, and I've since lost another 20lbs and continued to improve my fitness level.
I'm almost done with my fourth round of P90x. I think this program is addictive. I still hate Plyo ;)
sharpshoot- Did you do 4 rounds in a row? Wow. Did you stick to it 100% all 4 times? That's dedication. ;) What were your results at the end of the first round? Did you follow the diet plan and did you do other exercise other than the p90x DVD's? i am dedicated to doing this 100% but i would really like to know what kind of results i can expect. Thanks!
Hi Gdd!
Yes, I did four rounds right in a row, got about another month before the fourth is completed. The only times I missed workouts was four days when I was sick a month or so ago. I don't stick 100% to the nutrition plan, but I eat very clean whenever possible (which is most of the time). I make dietary allowances for things like birthday parties, when I know I'll want a slice of cake or a piece of pizza.
To be honest, after my first round, I did not get ripped like the people in the ads. I did, however, gain a ton of muscle and lost a couple inches from my waist. And that was pretty much all I was looking for anyway. I don't need to look like a fitness model, just be strong and healthy. But I have noticed, these last couple rounds, a more chiseled physique emerging, so maybe eventually I will look like one of the P90xers on tv ;)
I do my p90x when I get up in the morning, and a couple nights a week I add some cardio, plus walking my dogs. My cardio consists of either running, Cardio X, or an hour on the elliptical.
What you can expect: Expect to put on muscle. Expect to be sore. Expect to lose inches, but possibly not actual weight. Oh, and if you haven't already, get yourself some quality protein powder. It's a lifesaver if you have a hard time comsuming all the protein required. Good luck!
sharpshootin- Thanks so much for the info and advise! My goals (for this round of p90x) are to decrease my body fat by 5%, lose 5lbs. and of course gain strength. I don't expect to look "ripped" like the people on the commercial either after only 90 days. ;) I do have protein powder and have been doing my "recovery drinks after my hard workouts. I am trying to do extra cardio (other than the daily video for p90x) at least 30 min 4-5 days per week.
Yesterday was day 6 and I did 30 TaeBo in the am and then 1 hr Cardio last night. Today (Day 7) I did my 30 min TaeBo this am and plan to do Core Synerg. tonight with my p90x partener.
I am really having fun with this so far!
Hi all!
My history with weight loss: So I have been overweight my entire life (or at least for as long as I could remember). When I graduated from high school (summer 2002) I weighed a whopping 264.5 lbs (lets just say 265). I went to college and really for the first time realize how big I was compared to other ladies my age. It was like something went off in my head that told me to get it together. By the time I graduated from college (summer 2006) I was down to 160lbs, but I still felt really overweight. I moved to DC (for grad school) and continued to work on my weight. As of March 2009, I am down to 140 lbs but still not 100% satisfied. I dont care to lose anymore weight but I would really like to get super fit/healthy.
History with Calorie Count: I joined calorie count because I wanted to be able to share my story with others and I wanted to form a support group (believe it or not none of my friends/family support me in this effort..they all think I'm crazy).
Reason for joining this group: I want to join this group because I am going to need ALOT of support if I plan on making it through the P90X program. My best friend is starting next week so this week I have been watching the dvd's and doing what I can. I started with the classic but decided to switch to the lean on day 2. I manage to make it through each dvd although I hardly feel like I am getting in a good workout. I am trying to stick with it so I appreciate any support, tips, and/or advice that you all care to share.
Some interesting details about yourself: I dont know how much of my life is interesting but... I am 24yrs old and wish to be close to being in the best shape of my life by the time I turn 25 (this summer). I work as a child welfare advocate in the nation's capitol.
Hi guys.
It's great to see everone on here. Although some of us don't post here all the time, we are reading it all and here for support. As for the P90X results, don't be surprised if you do see drastic results. I am really impressed myself. If you follow the food plan, and commit yourself to doing all the vids daily, trust me, you will see results. You don't have to be a nut, just dedicate yourself to the program. Good luck!!!
