I am a 50 y/o female, who started gaining the 2-3 lbs per year after I had my last child 23 years ago. While the kids were growing up, it was all about spending time with them and their various, 4-H, FFA, and sport ventures. Now all the kids have grown, moved away and graduated from college and I finally have some me time.

My husband and I decided to do this together. We joined a gym and saw a nutritionist and are very much on track. Because we are each others accountability partners, it seems to be going along a lot smoother than it did when I tried losing weight by myself.

I have three children, two grandchildren, and one dog. (No cats because they tend to beat up my dog) I live on the best side of the state near the Blue mountains.

Hey guys! I've been battling weight since I can remember. I work 2 jobs and have a small photography business on the side, so it's always been very easy to make excuses to not go to the gym or to eat out - I never have any time! But last year I started making time.  It was so much easier when my husband and I had the same schedule, and would go to the gym together. It was always really rewarding stepping on the scale and seeing how well we were both doing...

Sadly since the holidays it's been really tough and we've both fallen far behind our goals. I'm looking to get back on track, but it's hard not having my workout buddy!

I still don't use calorie count to it's full capabilities, but I'm working on it :)   I'm hoping to find some motivation and accountability by frequenting the forums here... so wish me luck!

Hello! I am glad to find some people east of the Cascades! I live in Crooked River Ranch. I just moved here from Bend. I never had a weight problem until I got married seven years ago. And I think a lot of that is because my husband has a weight problem. Food became more of a focal point in my life. I need to lose about 60 pounds. Bob on Biggest Loser says calorie counting is important so I thought I would try to keep track by joining this website. I have a thirteen year old stepson and two cats named Beavis and Butthead. And I love walking the country roads out here on the ranch!

Hello!  My name is Amy, I'm a 23 year old grad student wanting to lose about 10 pounds.  I am an obsessive counter and exerciser!

I grew up in La Grande OR, Eastern OR.  I currently live in California, but miss my Oregon roots :(

I love exercising, sports, anything outdoors, church, Gilmore Girls, South Park, laughing, reading, and writing.

Looking forward to meeting others from OREGON :)

Hey guys! Looks like we're getting a lively group here :)

Its nice to meet all of you. I live in Bend, moved here in 06' from Santa Rosa Ca. with my two kids Javin 4 ,Keona 6 and my husband Jeremy. I am 24 and soon to be graduating with my associates degree as a paralegal. I have been to Empire College in Ca., Everest College in Portland and now I am at Lane Community College. I have been working at a law firm for the past 11 months and when I started I weighed 164 pounds. I first started my diet on June 26, 08 and finished when I reached my goal in September at 140. Since then I have been maintaining and have lost another 5 pounds on a good day.

I am going to Las Vagas the first week of March and I would like to lose what ever wheight I can before I go.

Hi!  I'm Charlee, and I live in Redmond.  Hate it...I'm so ready to move to a warmer climate!  We have good jobs tho, so it's not really a good time to move!

1. History with weight loss:  Hard to believe that I once weighed 119 lbs...I gradually gained over the years to over 300...lost to about 225, and then regained so that I started this go around with weight loss at 290 on March 1st.   By today, (the 29th) I've lost a total of 25 pounds, 13 of that in the first week...telling me that much of it was water!   I'm consuming (or trying to) about 1600 calories a day, sometimes I don't quit make it, I'm just too full of fruits and vegies!

2. History with Calorie Count:  Just found CC on the 21st of March, and I'm loving it!  So much I didn't know, and so much support!  I love it!

3. Reason for joining this group:  Y'all are neighbors!! :)  What more could I ask for?

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests.

I work as a self storage facility manager with my hubby.  We've worked together at the same places for 9 of the 10 years we've been married.  We're best friends, and one of those rare couples that can spend 24/7 together with no arguments.

I'm 52, hubby is 11 years younger than I am, met and married him in Montana.  We've lived in Wyoming, and now in Oregon.   He's got two girls in Florida, I have two grown sons in Arizona and Colorado. 7 grandbabies that range in age from 17 to 7 months.  One toy poodle and one black cat make up the rest of our family.

I love to collect cast iron cookware, trivets, I'm a scrapbooker, and I dabble with oil paints, altho I'm NOT a good artist, it fasinates me to play with them anyway.  (Think Grandma Moses on a bad day! ;) )   We both like camping, fishing and cooking in cast iron camp ovens.  Genealogy is another of my interests.  I'm also ALWAYS game for a trip to Kah-Nee-Tah! (the Indian casino).

Hi everyone!

Much like everyone here, I am trying to lose 20-50 lbs of unwanted weight.

A little bit about me... I am 24 years old, I have a desk job as a bookkeeper, and I like to snack a lot. Over the past 3 1/2 years, I have gained 50+ lbs! I didn't realize it until I saw myself in pictures with friends and realized that I had ballooned up like nothing else. So... it's been a struggle but I feel I finally am able to make the decision to eat healthy and drop the weight.

I started with Calorie Count about a month ago, and had lost 6 lbs in two weeks, which I thought was great! But like always, I seemed to let cravings control my willpower.

But today, I woke up with a renewed since of self and decided to go shopping again and get some healthy food.

Here are some of the things I bought: turkey (leaner than chicken), broccoli, spinach, red peppers, grape tomatoes, bananas, grapes, whole wheat pasta, wheat pita bread, plums, rice crackers, and mango green tea. The store I shopped at was Trader Joe's. They have a great selection of organic items and they are low priced.

I'm not counting the calories, just logging my food and I am able to see the progress in what I eat and how I feel. I'm also drinking approx 94 ounces of water, staying away from sweets, caffeine and alcohol. I'm sure I'll cheat a little.. ;) Wish me luck!

Carmen
