hi,Im new, married for 32 years, happily to a wonderful man. I am loseing weight for myself this time. I work as a housekeeper at a vermont college. I am on my feet allday and very active so that should help. thanks

Hi everyone

My name is Giselle and im 22 years old. I just joined cc bc I want to lose 18lb and I think this is a great way to do it since im still breast feeding my baby boy. I have never counted calories and this is my first time trying to lose weight since i was always very skinny. I gained around 40lbs in my pregnancy and I'm now at 147. My goal is 125.

I'm a stay at home mom and I was used to being very active, everything changed after I had my baby. I'm not legally married but  we have been living together for a year now. It has been kind of rocky but I believe its because of all the changes and trying to get used to our new life. But I think it's good. My husband is very active and he also gained a couple of pounds but he is very tall and you can hardly tell. I'm the one that need to lose this pounds and I know it is hard but I know I Can Do It!!!!

I'm so glad I found this place. It makes me feel motivated and good specially knowing that I'm not the only one in this situation.

good luck to all of you and keep it up!!!!Laughing

1. history w/ weight loss: up and down. i've been up down up down since i was a teenager. when i get on track i can lose weight like no one you ever met but the second i deviate from my plan it's all over and it takes me months of gaining the weight back to get on track again. i'm also one of those people who justifies over eating by saying, " i've been so good. if just eat this brownie today it will be all right." i know i'm a foodaholic.

2. History w/ calorie count: i've been on calorie count for 2.5 years. i love it. it always saves my ass and it made me realize the true value of food and what id truly good and bad for you.

3. reason for joining group: i'm 23 and have been married for 3.5 year

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: i have a dog that i love more than anything. which i know makes me a little weird but everybody has their quirks. i don't work, not by choice we just have to share a car and it's too inconvenient.  i love to shop. shoes are my thing a $20 pair of fabulous shoes are worth more than a $300 purse. not that i'm not going to buy both, because i am but if i had to pick. oh i'm from MI and i would move there tomorrow if i could but right now we live in hawaii. right now i weigh 142lb but my goal is to get down to 120 an stay there.

Hi everyone :)

I'm 24 years old and I live in Atlanta.  Last year I was on a medication that resulted in my gaining close to 40 pounds in 9 months.  January-May of this year I lost about 10 pounds on my own, then May-September I was part of the LA Weight Loss Program and lost 17 more pounds.  Now I have an additional five or more to go and am trying to do it by counting calories and exercising.  I found calorie count when I was googling for, well, calorie counts :)

I have been married to a great guy for two and a half years and we have two cat-babies.  My husband and I are training for a marathon together- so wish us luck!  The marathon is in March so we have lots of time.  This will be my first marathon and my husband's second.

Hello! My name is Phatima I'm 33 yrs old and married for 6yrs!! My history with weight loss: up/down for the last 8yrs!! History with Calorie Count: I've been a member since 06! Reason for joining this group: I need all the help I can get!! hi! My name is Nicky - im a mother of 1 and step mother of 4 - 2 of which we get to see on a regular basis.

my histor of weight loss: i have always been a big girl - i had success but later became pregnant and gained it all about after getting married and stress began!

My history with calorie count: I just joined.

Reason for joining this group: I'm hoping to keep my marriage alive while having the stress of not eating as much as i used to.

details about me: i'm 23 years old. My husband is 27 - we've been married since april of 07. We have no children together. I have a son that will be 3 in november. I am currently going through a custody battle with his father. (A LOT OF STRESS). The 2 step kids we get to see are 5 and 6 girl and boy. My husband and I have our issues when it comes to our families and step kids - i am hoping to get some advice from others that may be experiancing the same thing.

1. History with weight loss:  its been up and down for the past 15 years, now i'm on the upside and need to really get it down to a more managable weight. for heath reasons and family reasons.

2. History with Calorie Count: just joined but finding it very helpful.

3. Reason for joining this group: i am a 40 year old new mom again, i have a 19, 18 and now 5 month old.  And for myself and my family i need to get my life back in order and that includes getting back to being healthy by losing the weight, balancing my life and maintaining the weightloss.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  i am newly engaged to my youngest child's father.  we are planning a very small wedding in early 2009.  I have 2 older teenage daughters 19 and 18 and a new 5 month old son.  2 cats and a dog.  I have a demanding career working for a major communication company along with my demanding family and limited time.  but through all of this i am determined to lose this weight once and for all.

I am 26, married, with three kids. I joined calorie count in 2006 to lose a little weight. I  am on 5'1 so weight really shows on me. I joined in February, and by May I had lost 10 pounds. (133 to 123)

In April of 2008, I gave birth to my daughter. I went from 141 (highest during pregnancy) to 124 after the birth. Now I feel so lazy, and hard to be motivated. I weigh 128, but my biggest concern is that I feel so jiggly and soft!!! Starting today, I am going to get on track. I am not as concerned about weight but I need to tone!

Thanks!

I am 35, married, with one son.  I just joined calorie count because I need to loose forty pounds.  I currently weigh 160 and am only 5 feet tall.  Ouch! That really hurts to see that in print.

My husband pastors a church and works full time at another job.  I am a stay at home mom who keeps an eye on and helps my 87 year old grandmother, I homeschool our son, babysit my dad's dog, and occasionaly runs errands for the church and my dad, who is self-employed. Homeschooling takes up about half my day with the other half filled with housewife duties.  We always have company over every night (my family) excpet Wednesday and Sunday.  When I can find the time I scrapbook and read.

In January 2002 when I got married I weighed 135.  After a year of marriage I weighed 142.  Then In April of 2003 I  had our son.  Due to some health problems while pregnant I  lost weight while I was pregnant and came out of the hospital weighing 130.  None of my clothes fit and I got tons of compliments on how good I looked after just having a baby. But, I quickly put on weight and now am up to 160.  Diabetes and high blood pressure run in my family and I really need to loose weight.  Calorie counter looks like just the tool I need. By the time meal time rolls around I just want to throw something together or get take out.  I want to make healthier meals for me and my husband (he is on the south beach diet).  Our five year old son is small for his age and we have been told by the pediatrician to put him on high fat diet.  Not junk food, but whole milk, peanut butter, jelly, buscuits, gravy etc.  Cooking high fat meals for him and low fat, low carb meals for my husband and me is hard.

Anyway, I'm looking forward beign a few pounds lighter come summer.

Fancy that, I ended up just below the pastor's wife. I'm about to marry the pastor's son (not yours, don't worry:p). I'm 24, just finished my penultimate year of law school, and getting married in March to a gentle, musical, artistic, good cook, and just generally great Phd student in engineering. We've been dating for 6 years (we were much too young and stupid to get married any earlier) and it just keeps getting better. I joined this group because I want to make sure my marriage works. In real life, the advice I have been given is:

"If anything bothers you in the marriage, say so straight away. It's only going to annoy you more later. After 20 years, people can get divorced over how their partner squeezes the toothpaste."

"If it stops working, you'd better fix it. You sink or swim together."

"People shouldn't get married in white dresses and suits. They should get married in a way that shows what their life will be like. They should parachute in from the ceiling in fatigues, and leopard-crawl to the altar."

It sounds terrifying. And I can't wait.

1. I've never tried to lose weight before...but I've gained weight since I got married and would like to stay in better shape.
2. I just signed up today
3. Need help staying accountable for excersize and calorie intake
4. Sedentary---I work from home in Marketing. I was running 3 days a week but now winter has struck and I'm looking to move my workouts indoors.

Hi my name is Lauren I am a 28 year old stay at home mom.  I have been married for 6 years and we have 1 son who is 2 years old and full of energy.  My history with weight loss is after I had my son I lost 111 lbs.;  I went from 238 lbs to 127 lbs.  I joined CC in January of 2008 for weight maintenance and it helped so much, then I got caught up in my old eating habits and kinda let them get the best of me.  I gained 8 lbs back and I am now looking to lose those 8 lbs again.  I know that it will be much easier with CC and I also know that without CC my weight maintenance possibilities go down.  I love the biggest loser workout videos, reading, playing with my son, spending time with my husband!!!Kiss

Hi, I'm Eric and I'm fat...but not for much longer.

I have been fat most of my life.  I have dieted in the past and actually went down from 400 to 245 over a period of a year and a half back in 1999, but was injured on the job and simply became lazy.  Then I got married and had two girls who are very active and I need to lose the weight again.

Currently I am at 348 and my goal is to get to 220 and stay there.  Thankfully I have a very supportive wife and family who are ready to see me shed the pounds as well.

I joined this group simply because I find it helpful to know that other people are facing some of the same things I am.  It is a help.  I also blog about how I am doing and you can find the blog here.

I look forward to interacting with this group.

Eric

Hi everyone, I'm Tamra. I'm 26, married with 2 kids. I live in El Dorado KS. Moved here just over a year ago b/c I was looking for a change of scenery and my husband (boyfriend at the time) was from here so I followed him then we got married. I was born and raised in KCK. I work as a nurses aide in the hospital here, studying for my application to nursing school. I'm applying for the fall 09 semester. I found this site just by chance. I've heard a lot of good things about calorie counting and I want to get healthy so I googled it and found this site. It's just after 4am and I'm surfing the net. I work the night shift and I'm off tonight so that's why I'm still up  :)  just wanted to say hi.

Hi, everyone, My name is Lynn. I will be turning 51 with a new lease on life, I hope. I am married with 2 grown daughters. I am one of those "bored housewives" you hear/read about. I am lucky in one way, I don't have to work but I would like to. No jobs available with my limited skills. My husband & daughter are very slim and trim.  They have no ideal what it is like for me on a day to day basis. I do hear a lot of " you need to lose weight" but get no support at all. I do some exercising at home but as everyone knows you tend to slack off. That is me. I need to improve that and I AM going to meet my goal.  I heard this was a great site and I am anxious to meet people that also need the support I would like and I can give. So hope to hear from you..  :)

Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and I'm 23 and have been married for 2yrs. Up until middle school I was skinny, but I packed on the weight and since highschool graduation have maintained a weight of about 180. Over this past summer I lost 20 pounds (190-170), but over the fall semester I put back on about 10 pounds as I haven't been excerising and getting out because of the weather (its winter in Syracuse, NY). I'm hoping to get back on track and lose about 40 pounds.

I've been on Calorie Count for about 3 yrs, but never consistently for more than about 4months at a time. I joined this group because I am married.  I am a senior undergraduate environmental studies major at SUNY-ESF and work overnight a couple days a week and several short day shifts at one of the dining halls on campus. I have access to the gym but the problem is finding time to make it there around my classes.

Do you know how to crochet or knit? Maybe you could make some money on the side (or just for enjoyment) by making blankets or scarves and selling them at like a craft show. Is there anyplace that you would like to volunteer? It would get you out of the house and give you something to do where you would be helping something else. Good luck on your goals!

Hi, I'm Kelley.  The funny thing is, this website, Calorie-Count, I've already got the basic program on my computer in a sick excel spreadsheet.  It does everything.  I've been using this site to enter data into my spreadsheet for about a year now.  I'm a senior in college (21 yrs old), 5'6" and 141 lbs.  I'm rather fit, and not overweight, but I struggled with an eating disorder freshman year, however, which (in addition to my continued inability to stress-free pass a 2-mile run on my APFTs) led me to pay more attention to my diet.  I'm hoping watching what I eat will help me become more healthy, give me more energy for school, and make me a faster runner (with exercise, of course!)

But I think the main reason I joined was for my mom.  I don't know her exact stats, but I think modern america would call her obese.  Not quite "morbidly," but the word helps describe how I feel when I think about her health, especially after finding out 2 yrs ago that she's diabetic.  She's always willing to accept my advice in eating and exercising when I visit - she walks her dog more for HER benefit than for the dog - but I don't feel right calling her up to ask about her weight loss plans when I'm so many miles away, even though I know that she needs something like that to keep her focused.

I need advice on how to encourage my mom, put her / keep her on a good plan, without sounding like I'm telling her what to do or putting her down.  She's willing to work with me, I just don't know what to say or how to say it.

(lol, also, I joined this group because I'm getting married in May, and I was interested in reading the words of other married people - a little "cultural immersion," if you will, to get an understanding of an aspect of married life.)
