I am 22 yrs. old, although most people think i look about 17. I just joined CC two days ago. I've always had to watch my weight. if i don't i'll just gain forever. i'm hoping this will help me finally reach my goal weight.
Hello, i have been using CC to keep track of calories for a couple of months now. just dove into the community. i slip on occasion so i would like some friends to keep each other on track. I am 22, i currently weigh 129, am 5'7". i work out 5 days a week, 2 are spin class days and others are running on ellipitcal and weight lifting. I am trying to lose about 5 more pounds and tone up and flatten my stomach. although my husband says i am beautiful, i want to be healthier and more toned.
Looking forward to meeting new people!!
Hello! I've been on CC for over two years, but have not always paid attention.
Two summers ago I tried losing weight and fell off the wagon after just a few weeks. Tried doing it again at the beginning of the next summer and that time lasted even shorter. Then, I got engaged in February and got serious about it. From February to May I lost about 20 pounds. YEAH!!! This summer was so overwhelming and busy I lost track again but only gained about 3 pounds. I started again about 3 weeks ago and have lost those 3 pounds and a few more. I'm now the weight I was when I met my Fiance. I'm 24 and getting married next summer! I currently weight 156, 5'3". I hope to weight 130 when I get married. I try to walk about 4 miles a day.
I hope to meet some people for motivation and share weight loss stories and experiences.
Hi everyone-
I joined CC a while back but never looked at it again until now. Ive convinced myself that nothing works including support groups but at this point I need to give it all a try. Im 29 years old and Im about to be back at my all time highest weight. About 2 years ago I lost about 30 pounds with the Dr. Oz diet, and Ive now gained back about 17. I now I dont want to get back to where I was however akmost 15 years of dieting has proved Im not very good at keeping it off, and if my calculations are correct Ill be over my highest on my next weight gain. I am still in the process of getting through a very tough year, and Ive used it as a cruch but I know that has to stop. So I wish everyone luck in their quest and hope that maybe a few of us can help one another.
Hey all,
I'm 22 and have just found/joined calorie count. About 3 years ago I weighed 320 pounds, and in the last 2 years I've knocked 80 off of that through changing my eating habits to something a bit more sane and in general not eating as often. Right now I'm 230-240 depending on the day, and I'd really love to see myself at 180. I'm a conference manager at Sony and am working towards becoming an assistant producer within a year. I mostly joined this site because I'm usually online almost all the time at work and at least an hour at home, so it seems the easiest way to track calories and perhaps get some recipes to use at home.
Hi everyone! I join CC a little over a week ago. I wanted to put a halt to my 10 year battle with my weight and lately, I've been getting some harsh criticism from my peers. About a month ago I was nearly 140. I've gone from 105 to 140 in the past 10 years. For the past three years, I've been yo-yo'ing between 120ish to 135ish. That's got to stop...
I'm 27 years old with two beautiful kids. I'm 5'3' and currently 132 lbs. I've actually lost 3lbs since I've joined. I'm hoping with CC I can stay on the wagon for good. I'd like to get down to 115lbs by my 28th birthday (Jan 2nd). This is a lifestyle change for me as well.
Years ago food wasn't my enemy. I use to be the girl that everyone hated because I ate and ate and ate and never gained a pound. Most thought I was anorexic. With those bad eating habits instilled from many years ago, I have a big problem with food now. I eat everything from veggies and fruits to fried anything. ![]()
I'm hoping to make new friends and get all the support I can. I'm sure we all can help motivate each other to reach our goals
!
I have been overweight most of my life. At this time I am 5'3" and I weight 220 lbs. I have horrible eating habits. I have two children and during those pregnancies I just really packed on the pounds. My son is three months and I would like to be healthier so I can be a more active parent for both of my children. Now is the time!
I have never really tried any dieting. I am an emotional eater and a eat compulsively at times.
I joined CC a couple days ago because I need support and some structure. I am hoping to meet some people who understand how I feel.
Hi guys! I'm 24 and not sure exactly how much I weigh, but know I'm not happy at my weight. I lost 25 lbs about a year ago and was the happiest I could have been with my weight. I moved a little over 6 months ago and I think I've put at least 10 of those pounds back on. I am an emotional eater and the move was pretty sressful. I've struggled with my weight since my early teens and have tried many different diets. I'd like to lose about 15 lbs.
I joined CC a couple months ago, but after a few days I didn't keep up with logging my food and exercise. I travel a lot with my job and just felt like I didn't have time. I am a meeting planner so when I travel I'm eating banquet food at 4-5 Star hotels, very tasty, but so bad for me. I have trouble turning down tasty pastries and desserts.
I joined this group in hopes of extra motivation and support. I know I can lose the weight because I've done it before, but I really want to keep it off this time!

Hi! I joined CC almost a year ago, to lose some baby fat, get back in shape, and start to exercise. (I hadn't exercised at all for 2 years...) I just turned 20 in July, so I'm still growing into my adult body. Right now I'm in college and taking lots of classes even in the summer, so my butt is pretty sedentary. I work at the school's concessions stand, so that has severely hindered my goals of healthy eating (mmm...jumbo soft pretzels...).
I have been Vegan for about 5 years but still haven't learned to eat enough protein or calcium, so I'm almost always hungry/tired and have to be constantly snacking. I think it's the stress, but for the last 2 years I've always been tired and haven't been enjoying life. I wasn't always like this, I grew up being a beach monkey, climbing trees and swimming in the ocean. But now I don't have that kind of energy so this chronic tiredness is driving me insane.
I'm also an avid martial artist. I emphasize more on the art and the philosophy though. Lack of endurance, flexibility, and strength has been keeping me back, so that's another incentive to exercise :)
I think back in Kindergarten the self-proclaimed "leader" or the girls' half of the class said "fat is ugly" and gave me this stare. I later asked my mom about this and she said it's true--fat is ugly and if she could, she'd cut off all her arm and belly fat to feed the starving children in Africa (i hope she was kidding about this last part.) So uh...I became anorexic during the teen years, which stunted my growth (I'm barely over 5 feet). Now, I'm trying to lose body fat in a healthy manner.
The most I've ever weighed is 112 and that scared me into exercising. Right now I weigh 104.5 lbs. After a meal, I'm about 106.5 lbs. My goal weight: 98 lbs. I want to get rid of my baby fat, gain endurance, strength, and muscle mass. Mostly, I just want to feel good again, like...a well-watered basil plant in the middle of July. ![]()
Hi All!
I have been overweight since childhood. I reached my heaviest (275) not long after moving to Florida. I went to weight watchers where I lost, plateaued, lost, plateaued, for about a year. Then I switched food plans there, with better results. But then I had to start saving money, so, no more weight watchers.
I contined with the plan I was on. Eventually I went down to 40 lbs. gone. I am still at 40 lbs. gone, however, I have stayed here for months now. Even though I have not changed my eatting habits, I have plateaued again. So I am hoping by keeping my good habits, only counting calories, that I can make it over the hump.
I'm 27, a third grade teacher, I live with my boyfriend and my cat Smokey, who I have had since I was 11 years old.
Hello,
I have always battled weight loss. I have been able to control it with playing sports in high school and being in the Army. Now it's harder ever since I was injured in Afghanistan during a raid on a house. At first I wasn't able to run, but now I have rehabilitated my knee and back enough that I can now run slowly and painful. I have made changes to my eating habits and amped up my weight training to more of a circuit training regiment. With the injury I surged up to 251 lbs and now I am at 233 lbs so slowly I am trying to get the weight off of me. My goal is to be around 195/200lbs.
I have never used CC before and hope that by tracking my eating habits it will be easier. This has enabled me to visually see that amount of calories Im eating so that I can make the necessary adjustments.
Interesting facts I guess are I have been in the US Army for 5 years. Just recently moved from Ft. Bragg, NC to MacDill AFB. At Ft. Bragg I was in the 82nd Airborne Division and I have been deployed to Afghanistan (OEF VI and VIII) twice. A 13 month and 15 month deployement. I recently returned home so I am getting back in the swing of things.
Hey,
well i've always been a heavy person and i somewhat carry it well. Recently i've been becoming more and more depressed about it though. I've come to the realization that i'm 27 and i want to be my ideal by the time i'm 30.
I have trouble finding time to exercise, I work alot. I'm also on the road alot and i'm having trouble finding good foods to eat. I'm hoping that by joining CC i can educate myself and help me to pick better foods.
I really dont know what to expect from CC, but i hope to use this as a place to start.
Good morning! I am happy to meet you all. I joined CC several months back in hopes to adjust my eating habits and really track what I was putting in my body. Needless to say I have learned a lot and am adjusting my habits accordingly. It seems I haven't been eating enough to promote loss and binge eating on wknds as result (beer and bad food!)
I am about 10 lbs or so right now from my goal weight. I am 6ft tall female, small/med frame and curr at 164...(frustrating because I have fluctuated back to here in the last few mths). My Goal is 150 - 155...but am working to build muscle and increase my endurance in the process. Hence the SLOW loss!
I enjoy interacting with others who are in the same boat and look for great tips and suggestions through this site. I am about to leave the 20 something group in December....YIKES...I will be 30!!!! I want to take these next few months to finish my 20's with a bang...and do it feeling great!
Good luck everyone!
CB
Hello I'm Sarah I'm from Austin attending school at UNT. I started CC in Feb 2008 and have been very dedicated and very lax at different points during that time. I recently bought my first pair of 7 jeans since before starting CC and have a renewed sense of dedication to look good in them. I started at 160, I am now 140, trying to get to 125-130. I am 20, 5'5.
Hello, hello. This is rather new for me in that this is my first internet forum (i know get out!) and my first real attempt at dieting. I was kind of chubby when I was younger, and was blessed with unearned thinness in high school. However, I slowly gained weight all through college, and the last ten pounds that hit at the end of my senior year seemed a little bit too much. I'm brand new to Calorie Count, but I think that it'll be very helpful. I joined the site, and the group, because I think I need some guidance in how to lose weight in such a way that it will stay off. In other words, I"m hoping to develop healthier eating habits and lifestyle choices while I'm young (I recently turned 22) so I don't gain too much weight in the future!
I'm about 5'4 right now, and around 140. I'd like to get down to 120 or 115 eventually, but my immediate goal is 130.
In more interesting information about me, I work in public relations and recruitment at a private high school, but my real passion is writing. I'm in between school right now (I have a bachelors in history and english, and in about two years I'm hoping to start an m.f.a program).
That's about all, nice to meet everyone!
Hello my name is Novita,
I'm 20 years old. I stated CC last year but didn't really use is, but now i plant to take advantage of its amazing resources.
This is my first day of my diet. I'm kind of a serial dieter. The most weight I've lost and have been able to keep off is 10lb, so i really need some help. I'm a student, and i live on campus. I have a really busy and often times hectic schedule. I have a boyfriend, who I've been dating for almost 4 years. He is in the Military, so we don't get to see each other as often as we like, but other than missing each other like crazy we're doing ok.
I would like to loose 30lb by Janurary. The way i figured it out thats like 12lb a month. I'm really excited to get started. I hope this works!!!
Hi my name is Erin,
I am 25 years old; I am married and have 2 kids. I started with being over weight when I had my first child. I have been struggling to get healthy ever since. Before the kids I was 150 to 170 pounds, which is my normal range. I am now 220 at my heaviest I was 260 with my 2nd child. I am in a desperate need of losing these pounds and feeling good again. I hope I can do it this time. Maybe with the support and the calorie count I can get myself in shape.
Hello! I just joined this group today, so I thought I'd follow suit and introduce myself.
I'm Rachel and I just turned 22 today. I live in Colorado and love to snowboard, hike, and dance. I just started rock climbing which I LOVE and I'm gonna learn how to ski this year. I have a Chihuahua and a boyfriend which are both fun :)
As far as my history with weight loss goes, I've always had a VERY negative body image from my family saying things to me as a developing child like "If you eat that you'll get fat" or "you're gonna be huge if you eat that" at the same time treating me like I'm anorexic if I don't drink pop when I'm thirsty. I've never been more than 5 or so pounds "overweight" and am pretty small, but this summer was a bad one and I was VERY depressed and dealt with it intermittently with binging, purging, and starving myself. I lost the weight very quickly and just this weekend realized that I need to be eating a lot more for the level of activity that I'm at. I hardly ever weigh myself, but I'm around 115 right now and I'm 5'2''. My heaviest was in high school when I was weight lifting and I was 136 or so, but with about 10% body fat. I want to be strong and healthy so I can climb and just love the way I look.
I've been on CC since this spring and it's been great not only for counting calories, but the nutrition analysis is awesome. I never realized how I lacked in certain areas of nutrition until seeing it all spelled out for me. CC is a reality check for me. I never cheat on it so I can clearly see the days when I do awesome and the days I eat too little/too less/too badly.
I joined this group to have some peer interaction, as my friends just don't care and aren't supportive.
