Hello all, I've been on CC for a week now. I'm excited. I've already lost.  I've gone from not paying attention to what I put in my mouth at all to tracking it all and paying attention in a week.

I've gained and lost weight before. In 2002 I was around 155. I was weighed at the doctor and afraid to weigh myself. I'm sure I was bigger than that. I keep buying bigger clothes every 6 months.  I went away to graduate school and made it down to 125.  This was a stress diet. No money for food or eating out and constantly trying to keep up with my school schedule. I also started jogging to relieve stress.

As I've gotten out of grad school gotten a well paying job where I sit a lot of the day, I've gotten comfortable and let my weight creep back up. My new clothes that I bought last year for my first "big girl job" don't fit. This must stop.

I'm 5'2 3/4". I weighed 145 last week when I started. I weighed 141 earlier today. My goal is 128. This is the goal I let CC calculate for me. I'm 28. I should be at my physical peak so I want the ideal weight.

I joined this group to me other people in they're late twenties.  I work in theatre. I make costumes. I have a great boyfriend. A funny kitty cat. A twisted sense of humor. I love Harry Potter. My fav TV shows are Coupling, Sex and the City, Scrubs and The Office.  I like the outdoors, fishing camping, and hanging out with my friends. I resently took a job thats 2.5 hours or more from everyone I know. Including boyfriend. My weekdays are a bit lonesone.

Perhaps your at your first "big girl job" too, and you want to be my friend.

Hi Everyone! I'm 21. I just joined CC today and looking forward to getting my old body back.  I've never had a problem with my weight.  Yes there were times I've gained 10-15 lbs but I've always been able to lose the weight within a couple of months.  I just had my first baby July 28, 2008 and have been cleared to start diet and exercise this week.  I gained 57 lbs during my pregnancy and have lost 39 lbs so far not doing anything.  The last 18 lbs are not coming off unless I diet and exercise.  I put on 12 lbs before I got pregnant so that has to come off as well.

This is the first time I've heard of Calorie Count and I'm very excited this is going to help me reach my goal weight.

I currently weigh 177 and would like to get down to 145.  This would put me back in my size 4 jeans.  I'm 5'8 and when I got pregnant I was wearing a size 6 at 157 lbs so even to reach that weight would be awesome!  At the end of my pregnancy I weighed 215 lbs! Yikes! My knees hurt from the extra weight.  Granted I was pregnant, but they still hurt sometimes when I get down on the floor.  I'm getting married in 5 months and would love to be skinny again when I walk down the aisle.

Hello, I've been on CC for 2 days now. I started eating an organic diet about 4 months ago for health reasons. About 2 months ago I started a detox program by Gary Null, if you've ever heard of him, and I've lost 11 lbs so far. My goal is 30 lbs so I have 19 more lbs to go. I've always been a bit chubby but I've never really eaten "right" or knew how to until earlier this year. I was brought up to believe that microwave dinners were not bad for you and it definitely shows on my belly.

I joined this group because it was one of the recommended groups when I signed up on CC and I'm a curious person.

Interesting stuff about me: I'm 23, I have 2 cats and a boyfriend right now but i'll only have the 2 cats in about 6 months because I'm sick of guys and have figured out that I don't have to keep one all the time, but they're OK to have around every once in a while.

Hi...My name is Autumn and I joined CC about a week ago.  I've always had a weight problem.  I developed bulimia my frosh year of high school.  I got over it with the help of my boyfriend who I met a year later.  I begain to put weight on and am now working to take it off.  So far I'v lost 25 pounds.  I do suffer from depression and I'm worried that I might relapse and go back to my old way of weight loss. I hope that CC can help me lose weight the right way.

Other than my weight issues, I'm an average 21 year old woman.  I'm currently in college majoring in psychologys.  I work full time for the state of California at a mental hospital.  I love reading medical thrillers and fantasy. I like watching scary movies when I get a chance to relax.  When I'm not at work or in school, I'm participating in the community theater and chior or managing my boyfriend's band.  I love music and art.  I'll listen to any kind of music but I perfer metal and opera, complete opposites I suppose....That's about it...

Hello I'm Amanda and this is my first day on CC. Up until a couple of years ago I've been slim, I would say a couple of years ago I looked my best. The thing is I suffer from Bipolar and take Depakote which I've heard can affect your metabolism, and cause weight gain, or hinder weight loss. I've tried to adjust my meds but last time I did that I was in bad shape, my symptoms came back and I couldn't function and quit a job. This med. I believe has put some of my weight on, but until recently I haven't been exercsing and dieting like I should, so hopefully if i really try hard enough I can lose some what despite the meds. This past week I kept a food and exercise log and did well but didn;t lose anything.

I am in my late 20s, currently seeking employment and taking online courses through university. I love the beaches, spending time with my boyfriend and family. I also love to shop like most women. I am looking forward to working with everyone.

I am a EMD/Fire dispatcher in Baltimore, MD and I currently am on evenings on the transfer list for day work!   I work too much and eat poorly in probably the most sedentary job ever.  I was overweight in high school, and in college.  I became a fire fighter a few years ago, and I have fallen into the bad habits of the Emergency Service Life.  Now, 100 plus pounds overweight, I am supposed to get married next year.  My older sister got married the last weekend in August, and she is a size 4.  I know I will never be a size 4, but just to buy my wedding gown in the "normal size" section would be an accomplishment, since I am currently a size 22.  My turning point was gown shopping for my sister, and she and my mom (we are all really close, I was the Maid of Honor) suggested I try on some gowns too.   When the lady at the very fancy gown store stated that I would not fit into any of the gowns in the store, even to try, and that she would not allow me to squeeze into them in case I would bust a seam or break a zipper, I about died.  I broke down into tears as soon as I got into the car by myself.  It was bad enough that I might have to try on a dress next to my tiny sister.  So, I decided to start the day after Labor day. (you cant start anything on a holiday weekend!)  I have a personal trainer at the gym I joined, and I have joined this website which I am now addicted to.

hello! my name is jessica. i live in austin texas. my whole life I was so skinny, and had a really fast metabolism, then it almost seems that as soon as I turned 20it all came to a halt. i've fluxuated in and out of weights, being bigger all over, to be skinny all over again, but with a gut. i'm pretty much looking to shed the pounds i've gained since i started eating so much all the time, and get into shape. i long for a toned body, especially my stomach. i've tried fad diets in the past, but it's never worked. i don't even think i ever expected them to! about 6 months ago i became a vegetarian, but my weakness is carbs! i eat way too much. bread, pasta, rice, you name it, i'm always eating it. since i stopped riding my bike to work i've been lacking in the exercise department, but i now realize i need to get off my ass and watch what i eat, cause i'm not getting any younger!

I joined this group because having other people around that are doing the same thing I am should be helpful. it's nice to have a support system, and people you can talk to, and people that will help you along the way!

a little bit about me: i live with my boyfriend in a cute house in austin. we have 3 cats and one brand new kitten addition to the family. i work at a boutique, but have plans and goals of starting up my own company designing and making clothes, jewelry, home goods, art, etc. i hope to have that up and running in the next year, and eventually working for myself!

I am Georgie - I am 25 and have put on a bit of weight and it makes me uncomfortable. My BMI says I am 25.1 which puts me as slightly overweight but I think thats a load of crap. I dont look over weight. My clothes are not fitting lately and I tried on a pair of jean in my usual size (UK 12/US 8) and couldn't pull them over my arse!!!! So I thought Id better take action before it gets out of hand. I am looking to lose 16lbs by Christmas, by monitering what I eat and walking to and from work. It'll be a tough one because I love my food and like to go out for a drink on the weekend!

Hi, I've been dieting on and off since I was a pudgy pudgy kid. I've done atkins, south beach, calorie counting, and right now am on the the quick weight loss center diet. Right now I weigh in at 221, down 17 pounds since I started the qwlc 2 months ago. Slow but steady goes the little tortoise. I'm joining this group because, well, I'm 25 years old, and I would like to work alongside others of my generation. :P

I work as a service rep at a internet database applications company, live with my boyfriend and his evil iguana, elderly dog, a betta fish I call Little Bear, and two aquatic dwarf frogs called Jay and Silent Bob.

1. I've always wanted to lose weight, but never had the energy to do anything about it. In January, I started to compete against my mom and lost 35 lbs. Now I'm trying to lose another 30.

2. I an new to CC. I've been a member for about a week now.

3. I would love to hear from others that are also my age. It makes me feel better to realize that others my age struggle from this.

4. I am a senior in college this year. I will graduate in May with a degree in Special Education. During the summer I work at a daycare, where I took care of 4 and 5 year olds. I like to do Tae-bo, walk, read, and just hang out. But being in school, most of this does not get done.

Weight loss has always played a part in my life. My parents used to wake me up early in the mornings to do Mousercise which was a work out program for kids on the Disney channel. When I was in the 7th grade my mom took me to a weight loss clinic where they put me on Adipex. Anytime I said something looked good to eat my mom would yell at me because according to her food was all that I thought about.  In high school I took step aerobic classes with my mom. I wasn't forced to go but she made me feel quite guilty if I didn't. I joined Weight Watchers in my senior year of high school. I lost almost 30 lbs. but was unable to continue attending the meetings once I started college. Over the past 5 years that I've been in college I've steadily gained weight and I'm at the heaviest that I've ever been. I've always felt pressure to lose weight and it seems that the more pressure I felt, the more I resisted. Now is the time that I really want to focus on myself and be able to feel completely comfortable in my own skin. I've noticed that some things are more difficult to do than they used to be because of my weight and, frankly, it's embarassing that I've let it get to this point. When I realized that my weight was making me physically uncomfortable, I knew I needed to do something about it. This time, though, I want to lose weight for myself, not for anyone else.

I just joined CC today and came across it by complete accident. I like being able to find the calorie counts for specific foods that I eat and I like the face that CC tracks all of the progress that will be made.

I joined this group to hopefully gain support and maybe advice from people my age.

In my spare time I enjoy reading and watching movies. I'm a lover of music and make it a point to go to every live show possible (Bonnaroo '09 here I come!!!!). I graduated college with a B.A. in Sociology only a month ago. I'm working at the same part-time job that I've held for the last 5 years. I'm beginning to feel the pressure of finding a "real" job, you know, one with benefits and medical insurance. The thought of not knowing what I'll be doing a couple of months from now makes me nervous, but it's also exciting.

Hello this is my second day on CC and joined because I need a support system to aid in my weight loss, and I felt working with people of my own age would be helpful.

I am a university student taking classes online so I spend much of my time at the computer doing class work, but I enjoy virtual learning. I am currently seeking employment so I have plenty of time to be active on these boards that is when I'm not doing class work or spending time with my so. I like watching movies, shopping and going to the beach. I look forward to working with you all.

Hey all!

I've actually been on CC a few years back under a different username, but I've recently rejoined yesterday. I'm sort of sick of having the extra weight, and would love to be able to get to my ideal as well as be flexible and athletic.

I'm a third year college student now, so that makes me 20 (so yay, I just barely qualify for this group). I work at one of the art galleries at my college (UMass Amherst); I love art, music, and travel, so it really fits when the gallery has an exhibit inspired by international travel and music. I'm a journalism major (more for travel writing/photojournalism) and an art minor. So I guess I can say I'm artsy? Haha; I'm huge into music, and love suggestions of people's fave bands or something new they've heard.

Hmm... I think I'm done... I do have a cat and a dog back in my hometown. They're amazing (I'm biased, really).

Now I'm done!

Hope to get to know you guys :)

Hey I am 25 and have been on this site for a few months using it occasionally. I have been slowly gaining weight for the past 4 years...since getting married. I have a hard time finding motivation to workout and I love food, especially creamy pasta and high sugar cereals. I am planning on having kids in a few years and keep telling myself if I don't lose the weight now I will have a harder time after kids. I have gained 20 pounds since high school weighing now 145. I would like to get down to around 130.

I live in England right now with my husband who is in the US Air Force. We will be returning to Oregon in November when he gets out of the military and I can pursue my career in elementary education

Thats it...oh yeah my name (Dance25dreams) has to do with my true passion. Dance!

Well hello Everyone!

I am a 27 year old that works in accounting...M-F 8-5. So that's a lot of sitting at my desk on a weekly basis. I have never really struggled with my weight, but since hitting 27 noticed I needed to put forth a greater effort to maintaining a weight between 124-127. At 5'7 I feel my best at 123-124 and would love suggestions from everyone here.

I try to hit the gym 3-4 times a week, including running and free weights. My weekly diet consists of Special k red berries cereal for breakfast, and a lean cuisine/healthy choice/smart ones (whatevers on sale is good enough for me) for lunch and always 2 liters of water. Once i go home its crazy with my 6 year old son. We usually eat dinner together and either go to the gym or hang out and play wii or go to his soccer practice.

looking forward to hearing from you!! Laughing

Hey!! I have always had problems with my weight, when i was a kid i was chubby so social pressures led me to crash diet and end up underweight as a teenager. Later on I had my daughter and after putting on alot of baby weight, I got quite severe post natal depression and stopped eating, losing alot of weight drastically, but once I "got better" and started eating normally again I piled on the weight :(

I want to be able to get to a nice sensible weight and stay there! (wouldn't we all? lol)

I'm a student nurse due to qualify September 2009 :0), I work part-time as a nursing assistant and I have a 5 year old daughter.

D. xx

Hey Dawn good luck on your journey!! I believe this site is the single most helpful site regarding healthy and effective weight loss, it all depends on yoru dedication. I've been back and forth with my dedication but whenever I stick to it I lose weight. Good luck!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad to have found this web site. Just by looking around for the past few minutes I can tell that there are supportive people here and motivation that I've been looking for. I've had weight issues for most of my life and I'm finally tired of hiding behind the weight and dealing with it. I work at a bank with a lot of other women and more often than not we snack a lot during the day. So a few months ago I put together a weight loss challenge and was able to make some changes to my lifestyle. I cut back on my food intake and joined the Y. I try to work out at least 3 days a week but recently the competition ended and I noticed that I haven't worked out for almost 2 weeks! Right now my goals are to get back into the gym on a much more regular basis and really change what I'm eating.

Today is actually the first day of a 10 day herbal cleanse that I am doing. I'm hoping that this will jump start me into a more healthy lifestyle. Its going to be difficult because I have a tendency to eat out of boredom and rely on food for comfort. But I feel that if I can accomplish this 10 day cleanse I am really going to prove it to myself that I have more self-control when it comes to food than I think I do. I'm excited to see the changes in my body just by eating differently and hopefully I will be able to maintain this new lifestyle even after the 10 days is up.

Hello everyone!  Smile   My name is Michelle. I am 28 years old and from Anaheim, Ca.  My goal is to loose 50 pounds.

1.  I have always been overweight.  I have lost and gained weight.  I have never really tried counting calories always just basically starved myself. Undecided

2.  This is my first time joining CC.

3.  My reason for joining is to find support and to get helpful tips on how to loose weight.

4.  I work a full time job, not married, no kids.

Hi everyone!  I'm still finding my way around here.  This is my second day on CC.  I'm a 23 year old law student who can't quite afford Weight Watchers so I'm hoping counting my calories like this will be enough to make changes in my diet.

I'm about 5'5 and 185lbs :sigh:  I started gaining a lot of weight 2 years ago and haven't quite figured out why.  I used to not have to worry about how much i ate or exercise.  I'm not too sure what my personal goal is yet...I guess somewhere around 150 would be nice although CC suggests 128.

I am still having a lot of problems with motivation.  I've counted calories and watched what I ate before and I generally average about 1300 calories a day which is well under what CC suggests.  My key, I think, for weight loss is to exercise.  I sit down most of the day as a student and at night i am either sitting or laying down.

I need motivation to exercise and also I need to know how much I should be exercising and how frequently...any advice would be really appreciated!  So that''s about why I joined this group...for encouragement and advice. I'm hoping I can make some changes and get motivated for weight loss! Smile
