Hey my name is Lee, I am 21 years old and weigh just under 300 pounds and am 6'1''. I try to workout about 3 times a week, but have difficulty juggling work, school and finidng time to get to the gym.

I used to be  an athlete, playing basket ball  all through High School, weighing at the time about 220-230 pounds and being a healthy teenage boy. In college I played rugby at a provinvial and national level, urged to bulk up to in order to stand a chance in this highly physical sport by the time I was 18 I weighed about 250 pounds, but again was healthy and in shape. I started university about 3 years ago and ever since then I have been gaining weight like crazy, at the time I wayed about 260 at the end of my college years I hadn't played rugby in a few months and it was beggining to show. In the last two years I have been rapidly gaining and losing weight over periods of 6 months, battling to lose this weight and being incapable to do so.

My aunt who lost a couple of pounds with this website recommended that i use it and said that it could be helpful tool to getting myself back on track. This is my first time ever using any site of the sorts.

My objective is to lose 75 pounds over a period of 9 months, restoring my body as best I can to the athletic shape it was in 8 years ago.

Hi, my name's Alisha and I'm 22 years old. I currently weigh 179 lbs and my target weight is 165. I'm 5'10 and naturally very curvy...so extra weight makes me look veeerrrryyyy curvy. Anyhow, I injured my knees twice and now have a pinched nerve, so exercising and strength building is (or should be) very important in my life. I've never been an active person--as a matter of fact, I hated all types of sports. However, now that I'm getting older I realize how beneficial it is for me to be healthy.

Disease runs rampant in my family (I'm African American) and I'm a nice candidate for heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Lupus, cervical cancer and asthma. If these aren't good enough reasons to get healthy, I don't know what is! My life style changes included working out and becoming a vegetarian. Hopefully I can stay on track.

Hi, I'm Tiffany and I'm 22. I'm 5' 1-1/2" and I weigh 126. It might not sound like "too much" (I'm technically in the healthy/normal range), but everyone's body is different and I don't carry it well. Plus, this is the most I've ever weighed in my life. I've put on about 11 pounds since May (only 5 months ago), and I'm not happy with myself. My mother was overweight my whole life so I know what there's not to look forward to. I want to get a grip on this now, but my major sweet tooth gets in the way. I'm on day 8 of P90X, and my strength and flexibility are already improving. If only the extra padding would just fall away!

On a personal note, I'm two years married to Elliott, who is the love of my life, and I have a maltipoo named Gilligan who just turned 2 and is the light of my life! I work in the book publishing industry.

Hi everyone,

My name is Gabriela, I am 23 years old and have been struggling with my weight since I was a kid.   I've been on and off diets all my life, but this is the heaviest I've ever been.  I've gained about 50 lbs in the last 5 years.

I joined CC a while back but had forgotten about it.  I am definitely committed to using it now though.

I joined this group because I am hoping it will help me get motivated, maybe get to talking to a people and relate to them since we are so close in age.  Losing weight has become a huge factor in my life.  Both sides of my family have a history of diabetes and I don't want to live the rest of my life this way.

I currently work full time in the consumer electronics industry.  My career takes up about 80% of my life.  The other 20% is spent with my family, who I am very close with and my boyfriend who I love to death.

I used to want to lose it as fast as humanly possible, but doing that and then stopping only made me put the weight back on so fast, AND MORE!  So if it takes me a year or more, then I'm prepared for that if it means getting healthy!

Hi ya,

My name is Cher, I am 24 years old and have been struggle busin with my weight my whole life. Since college started I have been on and off dieting, I started as a dance major in college which caused me to lose weight too fast and I was super unhealthy and then after that I went on and off with just accepting being overweight and trying to turn it around. So here I am a full-time grad student about to finish my second masters degree in secondary education in English (my first is in Irish Literature), a part-time choreographer/director for a deaf music theater/dance company as well as a choreographer for a children's music theater program, and I just really struggle to find the time to commit to healthy eating.

When I was a senior in college, a professor of mine told me about CC, and we joined together. I did really well for about 3 months, lost 15 lbs, had 15 more to go to reach my goal of 165, and then the holidays hit and my family and I went on vaca to Key West and I gained 10 lbs back in that one month, and I just never really recovered, never got back on track with CC again. But now I am committed to trying to make this work.

I joined this group because it is nice to know that I am not the only person in my 20s fighting with my habits and trying to commit to a change when all my other friends go out and eat what they want and drink what they want with either no weight gain or no care (some of them should care, but they don't). My family is a little difficult because my parents lost a ton of weight 6 yrs ago by forcing themselves through this military diet regimen that was completely ridiculous but because they benefited they think every one needs to eat their flavorless health food, the idea being that you must suffer in order to gain. And sadly my sister is a bulimic, it is how she handles the pressure our parents put on us to be thin... she purges and I eat... we are a mess. So I am hoping here I can find the positive support I need to stay committed to losing weight in a HEALTHY way.

Hey all.

My name is Jen and I'm 25. I just gave birth to my second child 7 weeks ago.

I have a 6 yr old son and a 7 week old daughter. Also I have a wonderful husband. Before getting pregnant I was very active with Roller Derby but was mildly overweight...about 30 pounds. I got up to 195 at 9 months pregnant, and today have finally reached my pre-pregnancy weight...so I'm back to that lingering 30 or so pounds that I want to lose.

As a child and teen I was always quite thin and was involved in sports like soccer and cheerleading throughout hig school. I only started gaining weight with the onset of my first pregnancy when I was 18-19 years old. I gained over 80 pounds and never got back to my pre-pregnancy weight from my first child.

So here I am now, hoping to finally get back to my pre-baby body...once and for all.

Hello my name is Kelly and I am 25.

I am not looking to loose much weight but I am looking to maintain a healthy BMI. I gave up smoking a year ago now so i am trying to stay healthy.

I have only joined today so i am looking forward to some good discussions...

Hi my name is Alaida. I am 23 years old, married to my high school sweatheart for 2.5 years now. I joined CC today, because I am interested in losing 25-35 pounds.

My main motivation is because we're planning to have a baby soon and I want to be in the right BMI. I understand I will be gaining the weight back, but not only does it help when conceiving, but I wont gain EXTRA weight.

So, please feel free to respond. I am looking forward to my accomplishment and most excited to be a momma.

Hi there, my name is Marcy.  I just recently turned 25 in August, and I'm finding that my metabolism isn't quite what it used to be.  And I fear it's only going to get slower, as my age increases.

I have been dieting since I was in my early 20's.  I have struggeled with yo yo weight since I was 16.  I hung out with a heavier girl that enjoyed eating, so I did as well.  I am right now the heaviest I have ever been.  That is 165 pounds at the height of 5 foot 5.  It's not really that heavy, but apparently I am overweight according to my BMI.  I have had successes losing weight before.  I lost 20 pounds at 23 years of age.  I went from 144 pounds to 124 pounds in 4 months.  But the diet was very restricted, and I became obsessed with my regime, to the point where I became bullemic.  I decided my health was more important so I stopped dieting all together.  And now I am unhealthy because of my poor food choices.

I have decided to join this group for Extra support, from people that are dealing with the same issues I am, to get pointers, and motivation.  I would like to be a healthy 130 pounds within 5 months, and I want to fit into all of my Skinny clothes again.  It's sucks to be buying clothes that have spandex in them, and clothes that generally don't look good on me.  I want to be able to run up the stairs at work again!!!  I am a painter by the way, it's very physically demanding, but also boring, hence the weight gain.  I have no children, and no boyfriend.  I am going to just put this out there, but my weight gain has severly damaged my self esteem.  I enjoy watching movies, reality TV, and reading.  I'm not very active to say the least.

Hey! My name is Erica and im 22. I recently had a beautiful baby boy, he turns 4 months tommorow.

I wasn't the smallest thing before getting pregnant but at least i was happy with my image. During Pregnancy I reached 205 pounds and felt like a cow. Now thanks to breast feeding and walking directly after i gave birth i am down to the size i was before i got pregnant. 180lbs. But now it's just different i guess. I feel like im unhealthy, huge and my stomach does that whole buldge out thing that usually happens after giving birth.

So i've decided that not only for me, but also to set a good example for my son that i want to lose at least 30 pounds. It's hard for me, as i'm addicted to junk food, and i drink more soda in a day than most people would in a month. So im on here, trying to find support i guess, and be able to talk to people who are doing this too.

1. History with weight loss: I have struggled all my life with my weight.  I have done everything from Atkins to Weight Watchers to South Beach to the 6 week body makeover.  All giving me good results to amazing results.  The most drastic i lost was with the 6 week body makeover, it was for my brothers wedding.  But, it was the one that I stuck with the least amount of time.  Now, the Atkins/South Beach I learned allot about my body and what foods trigger cravings, etc.   I am trying to find a way that I can eat light/low in carbs but that it still remains healthy/nutritious, so, I figured I would give this a try.  I am currently 29 years old and engaged to an amazing man.   Our wedding we are looking to have in Fall to Spring of 2010 and i would like to lose weight but I want to do it gradually because I don't want it to be a "diet" but a way of life.

hi im fairly new to CC just started using it Oct 31st. Im 21 and i just had my second baby sept 6th and i am ready to get rid of this baby fat and fit into my old clothes. im wanting to loose around 30 pounds and hopefully by mid Feb i will weigh my goal weight which is 130 pounds.

i have struggled with my weight ever since i was in the 7th grade and summer 2007 i was in the best shape of my life because i took control but after being pregnant for basically 2 year i have a 17 month old son and a 2 month old i lost control and gained weight, and i miss my old clothes :( im thinking of trying this p90x i saw on TV it looks a little hardcore so im trying to get a little fit and loose a little bit before i start on it and i have already lost 6.2 pounds since i joined :D just by eating a low calorie diet 1200 calories.

Hi! I am 26 and recently gained back 15 lbs when I stopped watching what I ate and exercising regularly. I moved in with my super unhealthy but active boyfriend, got a new job (desk job) and have been so stressed. I am 5' and weigh 130 and want to get down to my pre-preggo weight of 105/110 by February. I would love to do it sooner but want to do it the right way.

I have an extremely wonderful little boy who is 3 and CC helped me lose weight 3 years ago. I REALLY need a buddy to keep me motivated and on track. I want to do a triathlon next summer so hopefully someone who would be interested in that too! I have lost 3 lbs. since joining and want to capitalize on my success. I am trying to see what calorie count I can live with normally and go from there. I am at about 1400 now comfortably and want to drop to 1200 in the next 3 weeks.

I know we can all reach our goals especially as a TEAM!

Tongue out

Hey there :) I'm 20, my current weight is 235 but my goal weight is to become healthy and be somewhere around 140. The last time I weighed this was probably some time in middle school, I've always been the chubby kid so of course, weight never bothered me until I recently started showing signs of diabetes (which runs in my family). I love myself and my curves, but I love living much much more.

1. History with weight loss: I've never really thought or cared too much about my weight and always loved myself for no matter how big I am...but recently noticed that I'm getting chubbier by the minute (it seems). And on top of that I'm considered morbidly obese?! News to me!

2. History with Calorie Count: I'm totally new to CC.

3. Reason for joining this group: I joined this group because it's nice knowing I'm not the only person in my age group battling weight. Some days I feel like it's just the lovely older ladies and I that work out at the local gym haha.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I work for ChaCha, so I sit on my butt at home all freaking day. I am single, recently broke off an engagement (I'm pretty sure that's the reason why I've ballooned so much in the past couple months) but am a musician and writer. I play cello, viola, guitar, bass and dabble on drums, but I love to sing. I hope to one day become editor-in-chief of a well known magazine such as Marie Claire.

Hi all!  I'm not sure if I clicked the right button to do this the correct way, so let me know if I'm supposed to do something different.  haha

I don't have much of a history with weightloss.  My mom is naturally TINY and I mostly take after her, though I am built a little thicker.  I've never been into sports but in high school I did enjoy running on my own time.  I stuck with that off and on through college and managed to stave off the "freshman 15" instead actually dropping a few pounds that first year.

I met my husband about four years ago and we just got married May 30th of this year.  I gained a few (5 or 10?) pounds in the later portion of our dating relationship so I worked really hard to drop a couple inches right before the wedding (typical lol).  But I'm pretty sure that I probably packed on 5 pounds on our honeymoon alone.  All inclusive = bad for the body.  Anyway, I've just continued packing on a few pounds here and there since the wedding.  I'm told that's pretty typical for new brides, but I can't handle it!  I'm supposed to feel all pretty and sexy but right now all I feel is out of shape and unattractive.  I have few clothes that still fit the right way (including all of that lingerie I bought for our honeymoon) and that's extremely depressing.

This is literally my first day with Calorie Count and I am so excited!  It's like all the tools I was looking for in one little place.  =)  My husband and I are actually working to lose the weight together as he's put on some extra pounds as well.

We just moved (temporarily) to the Texas panhandle for his job but are actually from Kansas City, MO.  We are supposed to be back there in about a year once his project here is finished.  We have a cute puppy name Bayley Rae and are just really hoping to make some friend here and enjoy our little "extended vacation" away from KC.

I guess that's all really... nice to meet you all! =)

Whitney

Hello CC'ers!!

I have been yo-yoing with weight loss for many years. It all started when I was about 15 and my step grandmother told me that I was always destined to be 'big boned'. At that time I was determined to prove her wrong so I started working out and loss quite a bit of weight... After graduating high school I began packing on the pounds again. I'm now 24 and my first CC weigh in was 165.

I have been a member of CC for a long time but never utalized it. I would go through stints where I thought I was ready to make a commitment, would use it for a day or two then stop and get back to my old lazy ways. I have now been actively using CC for two and a half weeks and am already down 4 lbs! yay!

I joined this group because it's always helpful to read others stories and get helpful advice.

I am getting married next year and am eagerly planning our wedding. I love horseback riding, spending time with my fiance and walking our dog.

Hello.

Just joined CC to help me stay motivated in reaching my goal weight. In June this year I found out I had become 106 kilos (233 lbs) wich is allot for such a small person as me, Im 160 cm (5'2).  Im only 23 and since a family member died I got more concern about health and the fact that I was nowhere near beeing as healthy as others my age.  I started on june 15th, walking with my mom, cutting soda and chips out of my diet and started eating more regularly and actually think about what I was eating.

I have lost around 17 kg (37,4 lbs)now! Im amazed because that is more than I thought I could do! I love my new lifestyle and not missing the old one at all.

Im almost half way to reach my goal of losing 20 kg more (44 lbs).

Hi there! My name is Keisha, I'm a 22 years old, 5'2" college student from Puerto Rico, & I currently weigh 192lbs. My long-term goal is to get down to at least 140lbs again. My friends all say I look fine (of course they do, right?) because I'm lucky enough to maintain an hourglass shape...but the hourglass is getting a little too big for my liking! I'm just not comfortable with how my body feels or looks & I haven't been since... 30lbs ago, hahaha.

Around 2 years ago my mom had us all on a diet plan she got from one of our neighbors (who in turn got it from a nutritionist). I lost 30lbs from 170 to 140 & I got down to a size 10 pants when I was wearing... a size 20(i think). After we stopped the dieting & I gained back what I lost, I noticed I snacked a lot & tried to curb that by drinking some Slimfast. It worked, but I couldn't keep buying them. After that, I just started drinking water or chewing gum whenever I tried to snack (it was more of an anxiety-thing than a hunger-thing) & that worked too.

I just joined 2 days ago. I'm joining this group because I tend to get all motivated to lose weight for a very short time so I would like to get a weight-loss buddy who is similar to me (age, amount of weight to lose) to help keep me on track... as soon as I decide what to do.

I'm currently studying tourism but I wanna change to photography & graphic arts. Still battling with the decision if to finish my Bachelor's in tourism before changing, but...meh. I love languages & different cultures, rock music (many kinds), anime, manga, Online RPGs, & silliness XD

Hi,

Joined CC yesterday to sort of have a reality check of much food I actually eat. I've always struggled with my weight since I was a kid, I hit my goal weight my senior year of high school, but have since put on almost 50lbs. I'm 25 years old and need to get in shape before I hit 30. I play a lot of sports and it hurts to skiing for more than a couple of hours and it's my favourite winter sport, so here's hoping I'll be able to stay on top of things.

HI,

Just joined cc yesterday. Im 29 years old, 5'4 and weigh 190lbs,I started to gain weight about 2 years ago .i would like to be at my healthy weight by next summer
