Hello.  I am a 35 year old mother of 3.  I am a stay at home mom, who works very hard.  I am 5'7" (or close enough) and 185 pounds.  I am trying to lose my last 25 pounds.  2 1/2 years ago I joined Weight Watchers and lost 49.5 pounds.  It was the best thing I ever did.  Then I quit.  I have only gained 14 pounds since then, and have maintained this weight for almost 1 year.  I am back on track with the Weight Watchers program.  But I am still not losing.  So.... here I am.

My hobbies are scrapbooking, crafting, and exercising.  My husband is awsome!  He loves my curves, no matter how "curvy" they get (within reason, he says). :)  I am not aspiring to be a skinny mom.  I am aspiring to be healthy and an example to my children.

Greetings. I put on a few extra pounds after I made the shift to working (for myself) from home. Snacking is too easy plus everything in my office is within reach so that I never have to move and well, that's a problem. So I set-up a treadmill desk and so far it's a winner.

I've used Calorie Count to check nutritional data but decided to join recently to help me lose about 10lbs. In my twenties I tried many diets before being diagnosed with a tendency to become hypoglycemic (passing out was the final clue). My family has a few type 1 diabetics but curiously no type 2 diabetics so I feel lucky that I'm merely hypoglycemic. After adjusting to a hypoglycemic diet I shed 15 lbs. In general, I've been healthier and thinner in my 30s than I was in my 20s.

Hello,

I have never joined a group, I figure if I do maybe it will help motivate me to lose these last 12 lbs.

I started trying to lose weight after the birth of my daughter, and I walked, cut portion sizes and lost 35 lbs.  I now have 12 lbs to go to get to my goal weight and am having difficulty making the right food choices and staying with my workout plan...LOL

I have been using calorie count for about 9 months, but every time I am doing good - like 3 or 4 lbs down, I slip and up I go again.  That's why I hope getting in with a group will help.

I am 31 years old, 5' even and 122 lbs.  I work full time in an office where they find bringing junk and sitting it on the shelf practicaly in front of me is a great idea (not that they are trying to sabatoge my diet).  I have Multiple Schlorosis, but have it under control with the drug Avonex.  My loving husband gives me my injection every week since I hate needles.  I have 2 children son 10 and daughter 7.  They keep me on my toes and we have a cocker spaniel and a cat.

I hope that with the support of others I can stay on the wagon and get these last few pounds off.

Heather

Hello,

My name is Angie and I am 33 years old.  I am a mother of a very active 10 year old, am married, and have two dogs.  I was layed off from my job in January...I had worked there for 12 years, so this has been a huge transition for me.  I went from working all the time, usually 80 hours a week-a very physical job, to mostly family activities.  I am not complaining- it was probably the best thing that could have happened to me.  The stress and lack of sleep alone from that job probably would have killed me!  I am now back in school working on my second degree, hopefully in a field I will love, and looking for a non-stressful, reasonable hourly job.

I think the stress of losing my job, adapting to the situation, and the reduction in physical activity have all contributed to my weight gain.  I used to work out all the time, and now I just need to get back into it.  My friends are all busy, or skinny, or lazy, so I thought this might be good for some moral support.  I have only been a member of CC for 2 days, but it seems as if it is a good site.  I would like to lose 40 pounds.  Mostly, so I can be healthy and enjoy all of the activities I love, and be able to keep up with my son!  He plays soccer, swims, is in Judo, plays baseball, and loves to play outside.  Since he is an only child, I am his playmate:)

Good luck to everyone!  May we all reach our goals!

Hello, fellow 30-something-ers!!! My name is Melissa and I'm 37 (soon to be 38 on October 6).

I've been a CC member since 2006...although my use have been very sporadic. Historically I've tended towards denial...which has gotten me nowhere. However I'm now dedicated to consciously choose and effect my destiny - including my weight!

I'm 5'4" tall and weighed 151 this morning (I'm down 15 pounds over the last couple of months). My goal is 130...and I will reach that goal by Christmas!

In April of this year I adopted a pescetarian diet...vegetarian except I do eat some fish and seafood. Primarily in the form of SUSHI, which I ADORE!

I look forward to supporting and being supported by all of you as we continue on this magical journey of weight management!!

Hello, I just joined CC exactly a week ago. This is the first time I have actually joined anything. I usually do the yo-yo crash diets. But this time, I want to do it the healthy way and I know I'm going to need some help! I hate to admit that but it's true. My biggest problem is late night eating. I've been doing cardio everyday, but I haven't been doing so hot with changing my eating habits yet. I am working on it though! I'm 35 and I am 40 lbs overweight. This is the biggest I've been since I had my daughter (14 yrs ago)....Well, it's nice to be here though!Sealed

Hi everyone, oh, isn't it stressfull turning 30.lol. I am 5'5, 140lbs.

I am a lifetime member of weight watchers, I just don't have the time to go to the meetings. I have maintained a "healthy weight" for the last 4 years.

I stumbled across this website while looking for help, I have been burning more calories than I have been consuming, so I thought this is a great way to monitor my calories and activities.

I am an emeregency dispatcher, mother of 3, and just all around busy person.

I am hoping to loose 7-8 more pounds, but will not be traumatized if I just maintain my current weight.. I just want to be healthy.

Great to meet everyone. I hope to keep in touch.

Hi everyone:) Sheesh, it took an upcoming doc appt. for me to realize that I need to lose weight. I think I wanted to make sure I had an answer for the doctor when she asked what I was doing to lose weight, lol.

I am 32, 5'6.5" and 185 lbs. I have been up and down 40 pounds the past 5 years...for some reason I am having alot more trouble getting it down again! I figure seeing exactly what I eat is going to have a profound affect. I found this website by accident and love it already!!

A little about me:) I am married to my wonderful husband going on 4 years now. My hubby is in the Army and we are currently stationed in Germany. We have 2 Pekingese dogs...Newmie and Drizzle , they are our babies!! I look forward to losing weight with you all!!

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

Hello, everybody.

I am a 30-year-old man declaring war against my glory days.

I was an active, competitive fighter for years, in my younger days, and being out of the game for 2 years has left me a little slower and heavier than I like. I decided to get into heavy weightlifting when I quit fighting, and I have found that many of my old injuries are really making substantial gains hard to hold on to. It seems every time I get rolling, some part of my body tears, slips, twinges, or tweaks and I am stuck doing rehab for 3 months.

My fighting weight was 170 pounds. My walking weight was about 185. It used to be easy, a trainer would tell me what to eat and I would eat it. I'd be on the scale 3 times a weak, and if I was not being good, I'd catch a whuppin' (literally!). It's hard to fail under those conditions. But once you are out there in the world, the beer is cold, the candy sweet, and the pizza steaming; well...

I guess I wasn't as disciplined as I thought.

Right now I am 220 pounds. Thanks to an aggressive weightlifting schedule, I managed to put on some real muscle in the last two years, but more than a little fat came with it. I'd like to get down to 200 pounds or so, but my metabolism has decided to give up on me; and thus it has been difficult.

Of course, the software for the calorie counter thinks I oughtta be 155 pounds. I really don't feel that's realistic. ;)

I eat too much fat and sugar. I have a real addiction to sweets and carbs. I still exercise regularly, but the duration and intensity could come up.

that's it, that's me. Good luck everyone!

1. History with weight loss: Never seriously tried losing weight until April 2008. My high weight was 220lbs in 1999, down to 200 in 2002, 185 in 2006, then 175 in 2007. I think mild variations in life-style and diet contributed to the slow decline in my weight. It was slow enough that no one noticed the near 50 pound difference between 2000 and 2007. Some haven't even noticed the entire 70lb difference. However, I'm a 5'11" female and the value of a pound is quite relative.

2. History with Calorie Count: I joined CC in April 2008 at 175 when I decided to extremely improve my health by exercising, watching sodium intake, added sugar, and nutritional balances. I wasn't serious about losing weight until I started seeing that it was coming off...then of course realized that I could probably lose a few pounds. I ended up losing over 20 pounds since April 2008 and am limbo between maintenance and losing 5 more pounds.

3. Reason for joining this group: Challenges with health seem to be something best thrown around with others in the same age group.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I have a great job that keeps me very busy. I'm single, have never been married or have had kids (by choice) but am close to my siblings and their children. I live in a cool, big, old house with a female housemate, a dog and two cats. Besides being good friends with my housemate, I also have two close female friends that I can talk to about anything but exercise and weight loss. It bores them to death.

I date quite a bit, love to dance, love pretty much any outdoor activity or sport, read a lot, and can be a bit of an intentional loner. For instance, I'll wake up on a day off and decide its a good day to go on a 3 mile hike...and off I go.

Hi I am 35 years old and I am 5'1"and  weigh 136 pounds.  I am a mother of two children.  I started at 153 pounds but didnt join CC until I was at 149lbs.  I have been at 136 lbs. for over a month and a half, and I am wondering what  I need to do to begin losing again.  I am a crew leader and a waitress at a fast food restaurant.  I work five hours a day five days a week.  I do a lot of walking at work. I am trying to also do some exercises at home to help boost my metabolism as well.     I have been eating around 1500-1600 calories every day.  I still have another 10 pounds I would love to lose but I have been stuck at this weight for so long I dont know how to get losing again.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi, I am 33 years old and 5'3" and 178lbs.  I am a mother on three (11yrs, 7yrs, and 8 mos. old)  I would love to loose at leaset thirty pounds and 50 eventually.  I have been walking everyday a least a mile usually 2.  I ride my bike with my oldest on days I don't walk.  I have been doing crunches everyday to everyother day.  I'm trying to watch how much I am eating and being careful that it's the right stuff.

I am breastfeeding and wonder if the calorie amount is correct or if I should be ok to eat a little more.  I know they say breastfeeding takes alot from you.  If any one knows how much let me know.  I've been listed as only eating 1600 calories a day and not meeting that as of right now.  I look forward to developing a healthy plan for myself.

Hi everyone !!

First I would like to say, my name is Chelcie, I am 36 years old, Surprised,, I am 5'11,, yes I know I am tall. So for my height,I am currently 200 lbs and I've been told I look skinny (but I think their full of #%$! ) hahaha.

I have 5 kids,,,,, yes I said 5,,,, 4 boys and a girl.( Ages - 16 , 15, 10, 9,and 2 )they keep me busy !!  I had been at a average weight for my height -160 lbs up until I turned 35 then in 1 year I gained the 40 lbs so fast I didn't even notice it until my hubby did and mentioned it. No I didn't kill him in his sleep,, hahaha. I was kind of greatful that he did tell me.

I joined CC almost a week ago and I am really enjoying it. I am glad I found a group like this for the moral support and also for the inspiration. . I am doing this to better my health and my eating habits. My no-no foods are anything from Fast food joints---- I think they inject their food with addictive products to make people crave it alot more . hahaha . So now I am finding it wierd and alittle hard to count calories because I never did it before. and Exercise ?? whats that ?? My kids keep me going from sunrise the sunset. I will try to fit exercise in there somehow.

My goal is to be back to 160 lbs by tomorrow,,,, LMAO Laughing just kidding, I am following the CC guide very carefully and recording everything I eat and do for exercise, so we will see if it actually will pay off by the set goal date they recommend. I would love for it to be alittle quicker but I opt to choose the safer way to lose weight.

I hope to meet alot people on here and make some new friends,,, so if I seem like the kind of person who you'd like to be friends with -- ADD ME !!!!

Thanks and hope to meet you soon  *winks*

Thanks!  I am really excited about this and look forward to the talks about the weight loss.  I gained so much weight from being comfortable with my husband's return to home and that was such a bad idea!  I gained almost 45lbs and so has he!

I am tired of being overweight and need to get on the ball.  I am 37 years old and could stand to loose this weight and get back into the grove of things.  I am not fat, but you can tell that I have gained weight. I know that I am getting larger, but want to reduce that ASAP.

I look forward to eat story by each team member!

Cheers,
Lena

Hello to everyone out there. I am 37 years old married with two kids, a 15 year old daughter and 5 year old son. I am 5.5 and weigh 145lbs. I quit smoking about 3 years ago and have put on 20 lbs since. I have horrible eating habits and it has rubbed off on my daughter. She is 5.2 and 150 lbs. It's time to do something to get healthy!!

I work and chase a 5 year old around and have a large property to take care of. I get up at 6:00 and fall into bed at 11:00 exhausted and still have a closet full of laundry. I have no time or energy. I go for convenience foods and we all know how unhealthy that is.

I need advice and some motivational support. I love reading, painting, photography, traveling and making new friends.

Thanks,

Angie

Hi everyone my name is Radawnda.  Up till Feb 2008 I was doing good had lost 50lbs or so don't know for sure cause I have no idea what my starting weight was.  In Feb I fell and broke both my arms yet both of them doctors are just now letting me do anything but walk it was hard and I ended up putting on 20lbs now it won't come off again. so I'm back here trying to figure out what's going on.

Oh and I just turned 30 in Aug I. I'm 5ft 5 and 275lbs I dream of being 225 which I know is still not a health weight but I've never been smal ever so 225 is about all I can dream of now.  I love junk food and I love to eat now I just have to go back to making the right choices.

Hi everyone, my name is Emma and i've tried every diet there is to try! I've been a yo-yo dieter ever since i can remember and lost the most weight after having my daughter 3 years ago, putting on 4 stone and losing 5! My husband works away and so after his trip that year, we relaxed back into family life and i've put all the weight back on.

I'm 5ft 9 and 224lbs and the most uncomfortable i've been.  I've looked into fast weight loss programs, the Slim Fasts and Complans but after a few weeks of being starving have gained the weight back.  Ive never really been a healthy eater and have always snacked my way through life! This time its time for a change.  I'm now 32, and dont want to be big anymore!!

Help!!

Hi, My name is Stacia and I am 33 yrs old. As a child and a teen I was very skinny and could eat anything. Then I had my oldest daughter and got on the Depo-provera shot. I gained 75 lbs within a couple months. Then with each of the next 2 kids I gained a few more pounds. Last year around this time I decided I wanted to do something about it, so I changed the way I was eating and began exercising. I also had a friend tell me about this site. I did very well, I lost 55 lbs.

In May I started having alot of pain in my tummy, so me being the procrastinator that I am, didn't do anything about it until my hubby forced me to call my DR. When I finally got in to see her, she said I had a hernia so she sent me to a surgeon. It took a few weeks to be able to see him and he scheduled me for surgery. I had the surgery on Aug 11th 2008. While I was out I gained back about 15 lbs of what I had lost.  Now I am going to get back into my dieting routine and lose the last 38 pounds I still have left.  I still am not able to do as much exercise as I would like to, so I am sure this time my weight loss will go a little slower. Dr says I still must take it easy.

I am married to a wonderful man named Mike, we are coming up on our 10th anniversary in March. We have 3 beautiful children. I am a SAHM who sells Avon. I love to meet new people and I hope I can find a dieting buddy to be accountable to.
