Hello! This sounds like a great group!
1. History with weight loss: Started at 145, got down to 113 (bit too low). I'm now 124, looking to go down to 120.
2. History with Calorie Count: Been a member since spring 2007.
3. Reason for joining this group: Just really wanted a group to help keep me on track and to avoid binge eating at all costs.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm a college senior, so I'm really stressed out doing a thesis and trying to find a job in these hard times. I'm away from my family a lot, but my friends are great. I love sports (especially Football) and singing too.
Stats: 24 F, 5'2.5
Start Weight Jan 2008: 228 lbs
Current Weight: 176 lbs
Goal Weight: 140-145 lbs
Expected date to reach goal: July 2009
1. History with weight loss: "Dieted" off and on my whole life. I have always been overweight. The most I have ever lost was 20 lbs a few summers ago. I quickly gained that back and more.
2. History with Calorie Count: I have been a member since Feb 2008
3. Reason for joining this group: I am hoping that if I stick to it all winter, I will be really close to my goal weight by early summer.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a social work student, graduating in May. I also just got engaged in Dec 2007 and looking beautifully and thin on my wedding day as been a bit of a push to lose weight at first. Now, I am so motivated because I am so proud of myself for what I have already accomplished.
1. hmm, yo-yo up and down, currently high 130's (137)
looking to get back to 120.
2. I try to get on here when i can...
3. Others keep me accountable
.
4. Nothing really interesting about me, like to run, row, swim, sail and bike. Work in I-T and sit in front of computers all day. ![]()
1. I've had varying levels of fitness since my teen years. The past year or two my weight has been in the mid/high 120s - not unhealthy, but I look a little flabby and would prefer to be a bit slimmer and much more toned.
2. I've been on here almost a year. Sometimes sporadically. When I'm diligent about counting, and posting, I've had some success; otherwise it at least prevents me from gaining more weight.
3. An active group really does keep me accountable.
4. I have a pretty boring job and I am looking for a new one and one fringe benefit of dropping five pounds may be a confidence boost that helps me get a new job!
Hi, everyone!
1. My history with weight loss: I have been steadily gaining weight since forever, but have recently gained about 50 extra unwanted pounds quickly in the last three years. College has proven to be very stressful for me and when stressed, I turn to food, and now it's gotten me dangerously close to that 200 lb. marker.
2. History with Calorie Count: I've had this account for a while, but haven't really been active with it until now. I am starting fresh, and I am more determined this time than I've been in a WHILE.
3. Reason for joining this group: Like I said, I am just starting to get back on track. I've tried a lot of different things in the past, but I have never had a strong support group that would hold me accountable. I am hoping that this group will help me hold myself accountable. Also, it is winter time, and I know it is going to be hard with Christmas and Thanksgiving and New Year's coming up.
4. About me: I am 20 years old. I'm 5'2" and I'm weighing in at 192 lbs. these days.
My ultimate goal weight is 130 lbs. for now, but I am breaking it into smaller goals to try to prevent myself from becoming overwhelmed. I'm a Junior in college and I am going for my English B.S.E. degree, and am really hoping to be down to my goal weight by my internship (which begins January 2010).
1. This is the first time I've ever tried a real "weight loss plan." Two years ago I lost about 20 pounds, but I didn't realize it was happening until after it happened, and I have no idea how it happened! Then I gained 15 pounds back. I've lost about 7 pounds so far, but I want to keep going. I try to go to the gym at least 3x a week, and sometimes I'll do pilates or at least a few crunches on the off days. I step on the scale at least 5 times a day! I really want to shed these pounds. :-/
2. I joined CC to keep myself motivated. For the first few days I was really good about keeping track of my foods, but I've let it slip since then. Right now I'm using the forums for motivation and ideas.
3. I'm depending on this group to keep me on track!! Having to check in will force me to log my foods and workouts, and I don't want to embarrass myself by not showing any progress!
4. I'm a senior in college and I work at a bookstore. I have a little orange kitty and my boyfriend and I share a husky/yellow lab mix who is about a year old now; I'm obsessed with both of them! I've had Type I Diabetes since I was 10 years old and I'm really bad at controlling my blood sugars, but I've been trying (kind of) hard for the past few months. I have a check-up in next Tuesday and I'm crossing my fingers that my A1C will be a little bit lower for once. I love working out but I also love eating, and I'm trying to learn to balance the two!
Okay I am trying to find a group that posts!! Winter is usually a time for gaining for me as I tend to want to stay indoors in cold, snowy weather BUT this winter I have challenged myself with a sexy dress (see profile)
History with weight loss: I was in excellent shape until I developed thyroid cancer in my 20's. I gained 101 pounds in 4 years and felt like death-warmed-over. Once the docs got my thyroid meds regulated I began exercising and eating better and lost 34 pounds on my own. My best friend joined Weight Watchers and I went with her and was hooked, I continued on to lose a total of 60 pounds. I was doing alot more exercise and fun sports and in one year broke my arm and then my foot, being in casts for months was a definite downer and I gained 20 pounds back. I am now ready to get back on track and try to get most of that weight off. My healthy goal for 2009 would be to get to 140 and have a normal BMI, if I get all the way back to 125 well wooooo hoooo!
2. History with CC: member since Nov 2008
3. Reason for joining this group: Winter challenge to keep me focused on "just doing it" this isn't rocket science! I need soemone to keep telling me that ;-)
4. Interesting details about yourself: Hmmmmmmmmmm, where to start? I love anything with wheels, I have 2 bicycles, 6 pair of rollerskates, 3 skateboards and a new Harley-Davidson. I actually love to exercise (weird I know) I don't like to sit still (I use an exercise ball as my computer chair) I love to draw and paint and a trip to any craft/art supply store becomes a drool-fest for me.
History w/ weight loss: Not good, but really wanting to do it this time. I'm getting older and don't want the medical problems that come w/ obesity.
History w/ Calorie Count: joined a year ago, but haven't been faithful
Reason for joining grp: like the accountability of tracking my weight progress. I have so much more to lose than the rest of you, but will see if I can get some of the 100+ er's to join us.
Details about me: former teacher, active in volunteering in the community and in my church, reader, researcher on Internet, empty-nester, love to laugh. I am a member of a gym, but haven't been for a while - had some health issues, but don't have any excuses any more!!
Hi everyone!!
This is exactly what I need, great group!!!
OK, so:
Stats: 28 F, 5'4
Start Weight Dec 2008: 154 lbs
Goal Weight: 121 lbs
Expected date to reach goal: August 2009
1. History with weight loss: I have always been slightly overweight but right now is the heaviest I've been.
2. History with Calorie Count: Just joined! this is day 2.
3.
Reason for joining this group: I just got married and I don't want to turn into the girl who stopped caring about her appearance after she got hitched.
4.
Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family,
your pets and your interests: I live in Mexico City and I love/hate it. I work on TV. As I said before, i just got married and it's just me and my new hubbie. He is such a healthy person that I feel the need to do it for me and also for him. I have a history on depression, even though I am really happy now, the bad thing is I eat when I'm emotional- doesn't matter which emotion, I just eat. I have 2 dogs, a pug and a beagle. I love reading, crafts, music and I hate exercise.
OK, that's it :)
Pleased to meet you.
Here I am!
Just joined and here are my stats.
I am 5'9, 26 years old.
I have been thin all my life. Right before I got pregnant the first time my BMI said I was underweight! Now not so much LOL. When I joined I was 244 lbs but I am down to 241.2 this morning. I tend to fluctuate, but I am hoping with working my tail off that will end.
So two pregnancies and a few too many slices of pizza later, here I am.
Hey Group. My name is Nikita and I am 5'5 and 30 years old. I am married and have one daughter, Regan.
My history with weight loss is not good. I have always been bigger than most and am constantly dieting. I lost 60 pounds in 2004 but have since gotten married and had a baby. So the 60 that I lost found me again. I hope to kill the 60 pounds this time so that it will never find me again. I admit I am an emotional eater and at times feel addicted to food.
I joined CC on November 15 and really like the tools.
I joined this group because I want to be held accountable by someone other than myself. I can rationalize anything to myself. How do you think the 60 pounds was able to find me.
I'm not all that interesting. I am systems analyst for a bank and I live in Philadelphia, PA. GO PHILLIES!!! I hope to make many new friends in this group.
Hey everyone. My name is Sarah, I am simply looking to lose about 5 pounds, but I am really struggling and am terrified of gaining even more..
1. History with weight loss: I have never been overweight, but I went through a few years of quasi-anorexia where I would significantly restrict during the week, but then allow myself more on the weekends. I liked the way I looked, but I guess I was under weight. This past summer I took (and passed :) ) the bar exam, lost my boyfriend, and gained almost 10 pounds. I still am not over weight, but I am looking to lose a few of these...just for myself.
2. History with Calorie Count: I believe I have been a member since 2006 and I love this site
3. Reason for joining this group: Just looking for some motivation and support as I go through this transition. I have excellent self-control during the day but the night times kill me. I need help.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am going through a lot of life changes right now and a lot of things in my life feel out of control. I want to at least get back control of my eating and weight.
Thanks!
Dear friends,
I am 184 lbs and have been diagnosed as being severly overweight, but I severly lack discipline and motivation to push myself into doing exercise and dieting daily. I live a very sedentary life, as I have Hypothyroidism and severe depression along with anxiety and panic attack problems. Most of the time I spend in my bedroom in front of my computer, I don't have any friends or relations to interact with and I am an extremely lonely person. I have a little daughter of 11 years old but I don't show interest or affection in her also. My husband is a beater and an extremely intolerant person along with high temper. I am 41 years old, and although I am taking medications for my mental problems and also for my thyroid troubles, they don't seem to be benefiting me too much, as I can't seem to change myself or my terrible lifestyle at all. If I do go for some walking exercise, I stick to it for only a couple of days, then fall back into my lazy, and sedentary lifestyle once again. I suffer all the extremely low feelings of depression. I can't seem to stick to dieting also. I am an Indian woman, and in India, there are mainly rice eaters, so I cannot count the calories I eat per day. I desperately need advice, encouragment and friends. Please somebody help me.
hi i am now at about 176. i started on cc the end of Oct. i was 183 then. my job is very physically demanding most of the time and i never exercised. i would luv to see 130 soon and i know exercise is the only way it will happen. i have already began counting calories and now that work is slowing down i am adding exercise to my daily routine.
