Now you sound like me.. I use to suffer from insomnia as my bedtime is irregular so after my daily deskjob from 9 to 6,I would try to walk.. What I do is mainly housewalking, marching on the spot, pacing while on the phone as I feel much safer to be within my compound at night and early morning.. On a normal day I would be up by latest 7am,walk from 7 odd to 8,eat breakfast, shower and rush to work..During office hours,my steps are less than 1000.. Would walk 2 -4 blocks to and fro to buy lunch .. Have dinner and start walking after dinner in front of my tv.. So if I ended up watching 2-3 hours,I would be walking 2-3 hours.. No sitting down and it helps to destress a person.. Shower and go to bed .. On average I would be clocking in around 17km to 20 odd km,it sure helps to burn off calories which I ate.. My highest records stands at 56753 steps / 39.72 km,burn off 1333 cal,98.5g fats in a day.. I've joined about.com forum since 10/9/07 and had been walking ever since.. Hope to see all of you there.. Happy walking

Hello everyone ! I'm Tina and just joined this website and group today. I've been overweight my entire life. At my heaviest I was 271 and last summer I lost 61 pounds. I did that by religiously counting my calories and exercising. Since then its been a food free for all for me and I'm honestly scared to step back on the scale in the morning. I just really got tired of writing everything down and find myself dreading it already. Anyone have an idea to get over this?? Anyway, I've got a looong journey ahead of me and know I'll need support to get through it.
Its great that I found this site and can't wait to get started!

Hey,
I'm Jenn and I'm 21 years old and weigh 195lbs. I've always thought I was heavy even when I was a size 8 and 125lbs. I'm learning to be happy with how I look but I need to drop some weight for health reasons. I have a pretty healthy lifestyle: I've been a vegetarian for 8 years, I've never smoked, and I barely drink. I have bad knees though form years of sports and it puts a damper on my exercising. I'm glad I've finally found a website that can help me calorie count and actually calculates things out for me. And I'm so happy for a support community too. My goal is to drop 50lbs by my friend's wedding next october.
Thanks ladies!

Hey evryone,
1. My history with weight loss had been good. . . When I try. I lost 35 pounds back in 2006. I've gained about 10 of it back since then and am really getting to the point where I eat my feelings.
2. I've had a calorie-count account since I read about ti in SelfMagazine back in the Spring of this year.
3. I'm joining this group because I want to be around people who will encourage me to lose weight the right way. Can't make it all on my own.
4. I'm currently in school. Trying for my 2 year in Administration and hopefully RN school next fall. I'm currently taking time off from work. . . LOL not by choice
. I love music and am just trying to make it minute by minute, hour by hour.
Good evening everyone.
My weight loss history: In July 2007 my husband (who was overweight at 291 lbs) was diagnosised with 2 diabetes. Dr told him he needed to be on weight watchers diet or southbeach. I knew he won't do it alone so I decided to join him and we could do it together. I was 5'7" 251 lbs. I now weigh 118 lbs and he weighs 199. He is no longer on medicine. I can't believe that I lost 132 lbs. I never weighed this little. I eat 2200 calories a day but I still exercise 1 hour a day on the elliptical only. I enjoy the work out. My job is a RN who travels across two states. My biggest challenges have been traveling. I have to plan meals/snacks for up to 5 days at a time. Before I planned so I didn't take in too much. During weight loss I ate 1200 calories a day. Since January I have been increasing calories and haven't lost since end of August (but also haven't gained). I really am having a problem with being cold (ice hands), and sleeping. I probably sleep 4-5 hours a night. Some I am sure is due to have gone through menopause. I joined this group to see if any ideas I could use. I read the forums for many ideas in food, routines etc.
Hello.
My Weight loss history: could eat any thing and be thin till I hit my 30's then things slowed down , but could still lose wt kinda easily. Then I got in a bad relationship physically, and emotionally and comfort ate. I soon became an emotional eater, learning to soothe any feelings with food. Well I have left that relationship, and have a new guy in my life but bad coping skills eating. I joined Calorie count in Feb and fell off the wagon in July. I felt a little jealous of people who could eat anything and not gain (like my guy)
Now I am back because I dont find it easy to lose nor do I want to go it alone.
I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, I love the outdoors and am interested in a lot of different things from music, to movies to horse back riding to white water rafting.
I am pretty determined to lose wt but to also change my eating habits.

Joined CC around Aug but I've always been visiting the site b/4 joining.
Im joining this group so that i can ask, discuss and share female issues and ideas.
I'm married, a homemaker, still waiting to conceive( by God's grace), no pets but like flowers and aquarium in the house. I generally love nature.
Peace to all !![]()
My name is Lana and I am 42 years old. 4'10" weighing approx. 112 lbs. I love exercising, but I think I need a balance of food & exercising. I tend to go extreme on either one.
I joined this group basically with the mind set that our bodies are changing and maybe most of you could understand that and love to get new ideas of exercise programs, receipes, etc. I am a real estate agent and very busy with work, but enjoy my early morning workouts in the winter time and any time during the warmer months! I did completed to sprint triathalons this summer and loved it! Have a stress fracture currently in my right arm below my shoulder...not sure how it happened, but haven't been able to do any upper body workout for over 2 months now. Still healing. I have a 16.5 year old son, who is awesome & currently single (just left a 13 year relationship). Started AA 1 month ago and learning a lot about myself!!! love my work, feel healthy and strong and looking forward to what today has in store for me.
hi everyone. my name is courtney, im 19 and my whole life ive been told that i was "small" or too skinny. i do not have any eating disorders, and i exercise regularly. i think my smallness might be hereditary, but i want to try and gain weight and i think this might be a good start.
Hello. My name is Jayme. I am 28. I have been married 9 years to my high school sweetheart. We have three children. Our boys are 7 1/2 and 5, and our little girl is 2. I am a sahm. We live in northern Utah. The first time I ever lost weight successfully was with Weight Watchers. I started about a year and 5 months after my oldest son was born, and had lost 50 lbs when I unexpectedly got pregnant with our youngest son. I returned to Weight Watchers pretty much immediately after having him, and lost what I'd gained during the pregnancy, as well as an additional 10 lbs and reached my goal of 130 lbs. I kept it off until my pregnancy with my daughter. I had issues with depression both during and after my pregnancy that made motivation to not gain more than I needed to during the pregnancy, not to mention losing it afterwards very difficult to come by. I now have 77 lbs to lose to make my goal with CC (127), but I will make my own personal goal when I get around 140 and see how I feel about it. Because counting points worked so well for me, I'm still planning on doing that, but I can't afford to go to meetings right now, and really need to support. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Hi Everyone! My name is Lenore, I'm 28 years old. I'm married and have a 21 month old daughter. I'm half stay at home mom and half working mom. WhatI mean by that is I watch a 3 year boy at his families home and I am able to take my daughter with me. I am able to come and go as I please with the child I watch. I'll be the first to admit it's a great job, I not only get to be with my daughter everyday but I can make money doing it.
My history with weight loss hasn't ever been an issue until I had my daughter. Before then as long as I excerised and ate right I was able to take off the weight and maintain it. Once I got pregnant I gained 50 pounds. So, far I've lost 20 of those pounds and it's been tough. The things that worked pre pregnancy don't work so good anymore.
I just recently joined Calorie Count, and so far I love it. But I am still very new to a lot of things here so please bear with me!
My reason for joining this group is for the support of other women. Women who have had the struggles I've had. In some of the post pregnancy groups I've seen on here, many of the women have just had their babies within the last few months.
My sister is getting married in July and I'd like to loose as much weight as possible before then, I am her maid of honor and I want to look the best I can for her day. Other then the 30 pounds of baby weight left I'd like to loose an additional 20 totaling 50 pounds.
I look forward to getting to know everyone!![]()
Hello Everyone. My name is June, I'm 39 years old, married but a work-widow, two kids (12 & 10), work full time. I am currently 158 lbs at 5'4".
I never used to have issues with my weight, but about 5 years ago suffered from depression and gained about 30 lbs...which i have been trying to lose ever since. I try to find time to work out and some days I'm more successful than others. Between my work schedule and my kids' schedule there's not always a lot of time for me (oh, the plight of the working mom).
My biggest vice has become sugar...once I start I can't stop. So my current goal is just to get off the sugar. I was doing really well before the Holiday Season, and well, you know - I said "yes" once and never looked back for the entire month of December...so, 8 lbs later...I'm feeling like hell, my joints ache, I'm puffy, and all my fat clothes are back to the front of the closet!!
Hi..June.. My 2 cents on sugar carving.. Possibility of such carving is because you had adopt towards having lesser carbohyrates food in a day.. Try having more carbohyrates foods from fruits, yogurt, vegetables, brown rice, whole wheat products and sweet potatoes.. Not sure on the availability for sweet potatoes in your country but if it's easy to buy,you can have them steam and store in the fridge as a snack.. Wash the sweet potatoes and brush the skin off dirt, steam them and use a fork to check.. Eat it with the skin for extra fibre.. Works great when you are trying to lay off fried food.. The other option is cut a bar of dark chocolate according to their squares.. Reach out for a piece whenever you have sugar craving and slowly suck on one.. Walk away from your fridge and go to other areas of your house.. After 2 til 3 trips of walking to and fro, your mind and body would give up.. Off and on indulge in a piece of your fancy food and you would find that your carving aren't that bad.. Most craving are cause by your restriction of food so after a long time of that is not a good idea.. I would normally have calories control during mon to friday and leave sat and sun off the picture.. That way you always have chance to eat lovely food weekly and reduce binging.. Hope this would be of help to you and best of luck on reducing your unwanted pounds.. Introduce walks as part of your exercise and you would enjoy the good benefits from it.. Ferne
