Hi All, My name is Rani

Like most of you i am here to loose weight, lots of it Money mouth

but just started today, with new diet and 2nd day of gymming...hope to get a lot of help from u and reduce around 20 kgs (OMG!!)

Hello everyone! My name is Ehryn!

I've been trying to lose weight for the past 7 years, since my youngest child was born.  I haven't been too faithful to any weight loss plan since that time until the middle of September 2008!  I decided to join the gym and knowing that I must pay a fee every month kept me self motivated enough to go every day!

I try to count calories, but I just can't figure out exactly how many I should be eating vs how many I am burning.  I mean, I know I should eat at least 1200 cals a day, but I usually burn at least 600 on the treadmill and elyptical machines every evening.  So... am I doing myself any good by only eating 1200.  And that's just IF i eat 1200 cals.  This past week I only ate 800 cals on Monday and went to gym that evening and burnt 500 off.

I joined the gym late Sept 2008.  Have been steady going twice a day every day since then too, with the exception of Saturdays... Saturdays are my day off from the gym!  I have lost a total of 30 pounds and am looking and feeling GREAT!

I work from 8 - 5 M - F as a bookkeeper for an attorney's office.  I have two beautiful children that are very supportive in my weight loss, meaning they're not too bad about begging to go to fast food places.  I enjoy playing pool with my boyfriend and the two of us usually work out in the afternoons together.  It's helpful when your family, friends, and even co-workers support you in your quest for weight loss.

I've got 30 more pounds to go to be at my goal weight.  I've come to a plateau, but after reading some of the forums on this site, I'm going to make some changes in my exercise routine.  I especially would like to thank "littleshellys" for some of her answers to peoples problems on these forums.

Glad to be here!

Ehryn

Well, I am just getting started and can't wait. I have struggked with my weight most of my life. I just recently found this site and thought i'd give it a try. I am really wanting o meet people that are positive attitude about losing weight and that have the same type of goals as I do. I started the new weight loss goal this year because I am tired of seeing whats in the mirror looking back @ me, I have become someone different before my very eyes. I plan on changing this person

A lil about me, I am a mom of 5 kids. I work as a nurse on midnite shift. Its tiring but I get more home time this way. I enjoy, gardening, outdoor type activity and spending time with the kids, I love watching CSI Miami and American Idol, I hope to meet alot of new friends to share my progress as well as theirs with. Its always easier if U have someone else to take the journey with.

Hi there,

like most of the people who have posted comments I have been battling with weight since my last child was born.. basically it just compounded the little bit of weight that I had not lost with the other two pregnancies! then built up interest!! I guess I have about 40 pounds to lose based on the great calculations that this web site does! I feel really relieved to have found this site, it is great to be able to interact and monitor whats happening. I am looking forward to this journey and hope I can stick with it.

I have 3 kids, only 2 at home now.  I work full time as a teacher. I have 2 labradors that are benefiting from my resolve to walk every day rain or shine! and I love spending time with family and friends. I am hopeful that this time I will lose the weight!

Hi everyone!

My name is Laura and I have two kids under 2 and a half.  I have actually now lost more weight than I gained during my pregnancies.  I cannot complain about my success.  My challenge now is to keep it off without feeling the dieter's guilt when I have a couple cookies (like I did today).  For the first time in my life (teen years included) I have a healthy BMI.

I lost the weight by counting calories and I did alot of online research about what my daily goals should be.  I also do cardio 6 days a week and weight train 4.  My husband bought me personl training sessions as a "push present" (I did ask for them) and for me they were the greatest.  I learned alot and was very encouraged.

I joined calorie count just to reach out to people in the same situation as me.  It makes me feel good to know that I can put my thoughts out there and people will understand.  Sometimes I think that my family is tired of hearing about my daily challenges...

I am on mat leave, but not for long.  I go back to work in the beginning of April.  I am actually okay with it, aside from avoiding the office goodies.

I wish everyone all the strength in their journey.  I never believed that I could do it, but I did....you will too.

hello!

My name is Cami. I´m 24 and have a 3 year old. This is my first time logging into calorie count and I think this is just what I need. I weigh about 190 with a bmi around 32% . I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I gained weight after my first baby putting me at my highest weight of 200. I have done L.A. weightloss and it did work  while I was following the plan. I lost about 20 lbs.

I live in Spain with my husband and son. I love the lifestyle here... we walk everywhere we go so I at least get daily walking in. My problems happen when I go back to the US to visit I always over indulge and gain weight.

I have a goal to loose 30 lbs before I get pregnant again. I am ready to have another baby so I feel like I have a lot of motivation.

I am counting calories and I am going to join a gym near our house the beginning of Feb.

good luck to everyone!

Hi I'm Michelle living in Ontario Cda. I am 1/3rd of the way in my weight loss journey so far Lost 20lbs - gone from 200 to 180.  Problem is I'm stuck!! And its getting to that time when my mind starts telling me to give up cos its hopeless.  Of course I don't want to listen to that voice - I am determined to lose the weight this time and have made such a lot of progress so far that it would be a shame to give up now.

I guess I joined this group to get some support - read other people's stories and hopefully pick up some tips on how to break through these infernal plateaus!Yell

I am 44 single (well kind of - it's complicated- oh never mind!) and have no kids or pets or family nearby.  So am really trying to do this on my lonesome.  Oh did I mention I'm out of work too. Just another bit of stress to keep me thinking about comfort food.

Hope to learn lots here. CheersLaughing

Michelle..Sorry to hear about your lost of career.. It's recession everywhere in the whole world so it's hard on everyone.. Plateau is pretty often whenever we stick to an exercise that we are comfortable with so try mixing them up.. I enjoy walking so it my best exercise for slimming down and maintaning my weight below 50 kgs.. Best part of this exercise is that it makes one burn calories plus don't overwork and tired out one's body too much.. Go easy on sweet stuff as it's the no 1 food that makes one pack on pounds.. Self determination is a must as one's self motivator as it would encourage one whenever one thinks it's isn't possible.. One point that I learn is never to tell anyone that you are on a diet .. For those eatting out time where you have to do social entertaining, try sticking towards more healither food and for the next few meals go easy on fats and sweeten stuffs and it bound to help in your weigh control but never ever skip a meal.. Try eatting 4-5 times smaller meals and your mind would tell your body that you had lots of food and it doesn't conserve energy.. Keeping towards 1200 - 1500 calories a day would help you to reduce your last 40 pounds.. Brisk Walking for 90 minutes would get you towards 10000 steps .. 12000 - 15000 steps a day would help you to lose weight.. I would say that losing weight is easy but the maintaining part is the most difficult time so I always set a maximum weight goal and once I reach it,I make it a point to reduce it within the next 3-7 days.. Never panic whenever your weighs creep up a little as it could just be water or muscle weight..

1. History with weight loss:  back in 2004 i had gotten up to about 180 pounds.. and lost it using South Beach.. gradually i became a calorie counter, which some folks say isn't a good idea, but it keeps me straight. not exercising much, used to run and do pilates, but feel off the wagon with that. fixin' to begin strength yoga i think. i got down to 105, and currently weigh 126.
2. History with Calorie Count:  just joined today. love adding my calories and getting a grade. ha.
3. Reason for joining this group:
to keep my ass in check.. ha. Surprised
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  i am an er nurse with no kids or husband. (surely i can find one one of these days! lol)... i don't have any animals right now, my dog passed in december of 07... kora was a german shepard and my baby. i have lots of forks in the road coming up... but counting my calories is one thing i can keep constant!

1. History with weight loss: In the last 20 months or so, I've managed to lose about 90 pounds, all on my own.  No real set diet or counting of calories, but now I want to make sure that I'm doing things right, so I can keep it off.  I cut out soda entirely, and did away with eating white breads, and mostly just tried to really pay attention to the portions my body needed rather than the amounts that I thought it needed.  I was always bigger as a kid, and once I went away for college, I really started to pack on the pounds.  I didn't really pay attention to what I was eating and just ate too much.  If it was in my room, I was snacking on it.  At 5'3", I maxed out at 210lbs, and now I'm at 120lbs.  I would like to lose a bit more, just to get rid of the flab from my stomach.

2. History with Calorie Count:  I just signed up!

3. Reason for joining this group:  I'm a women, and hope that my experiences of doing this alone can give some insight to the particular problems we face.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I'm a soon to be college grad, with a BA in history.  I love to play computer games, and I read a lot in my spare time (what little I have, writing my BA thesis has pretty much taken over my life at this point).  I have no clue what I'm going to be doing with my life after graduation, but I'm sure it'll be adventure!

Hello, I've recently had to realize that I'm a super-yo-yoer.  I think it started when I was in 4th grade.  My weight fluctuates a lot because I'm either really active or very sedentary.  As I get older it leans more and more to being sedentary.

I counted calories with Calorie Count about 4 years ago, and lost 30 pounds, so that was great.  Now I have them back.  Plus 30 more... ah well.

I'm joining this group to try to meet some CC friends.

Interesting details... ugh.  I have some, I swear.  Hard to pull them up on demand.

Hi there,

I am new to the CC community and this is my first time ever doing it. Actually, I have never seriously tried to regulate my weight before, so this is a big step for me.  Even though I have always been a really healthy eater, I always ate really big portions and never thought about how the foods were affecting my body. I want to change that now and thats is why I am part of the group.

I am 27 years old and weight issues run in my family, so I want to know how to handle those issues before I am too 'set in my ways'. I also want to start feeling sexy and not 'ugh'. And I don't want to cry in change rooms anymore when a really fab pair of pants wont get beyond my thighs!

I am 5"7 and 179lbs and hope to lose 30lbs by my birthday (late June). I am looking for support and frienship in the CC community through this journey.

Thanks :)

welcome to the site... i love it...

once you start learning stuff there is no going back! lol.

Thanks! I am already loving it, though the challenges are always there. Like weekends....

Saw this club and thought I would give it a shot.  I have been fighting weight loss and gain for a few years.  YOYO dieting is the name of my game however with the help of a journal two years ago I lost 40 pounds and have kept off all but 15.  That is my goal this year to lose those 15 pounds that I managed to regain.  I work hard at the gym and even though there are times I don't like to go my goal is at least 4 times a week.  I sit at a desk all day and so my exercise comes at night.  My husband and I go to the gym together and that makes things easier.  We also have a yellow lab at home that demands our attention so exercise is not an issue for us.  The hardest part for me has always been the eating.

Hello fellow Women

I am new to Calorie Count.  I don't understand the Burn Meter. Can anybody explain?

Same herewith the whole burn metter !

I am new here to callorie counting. I keep lossing the same 10 pounds a couple of times a year. I want to losse them for good and 10 more. I have 5 kids 3 with autisim and a crazy schedual. The hardest part for me is eating healthy and not just grabing some thing fast like the cookie that keeps calling me!

hello everyone

i am new to the group trying to learn my way thought the site and trying to stick with the counting most of all and the workout

When I was 28 I quit smoking, and within 6-8 months I gained 30 lbs.  I replaced one bad habit with another.  I went from 135 (5'8") to 165.  Then I had a baby, and found myself a whopping 175 lbs.

I did join calorie count and I started running 5-6 days a week 2 years ago.  I went down to the low 150's and suddenly quit.  Why?  God only knows.

I'm a wife and mom of four. I work full time as a network technician, and I think that contributes to my giving up on running. I am not and have never been a morning person...and after working all day, I often feel too tired to put on the running clothes and go outside.  Looking back, it would appear I'm an all or nothing kinda gal as if I'm not running, I'm also not eating right either.

Dr weighed me in at 157.2 the day before yesterday.  I logged in here & realized I've been here for 2 years.  I'm really angry at myself for stopping because in hindsight it's obvious I did succeed.
