 Hello!!

Is this group active? Cause I would love to join a group for ppl that are trying to lose wieght and are ttcing.

1. I have been over wieght ever since high school and I have been pretty much steady in my size.

2. I just joined Caloriecount this morning.

3. The reason for joining this group is because I have been ttcing for over 4 yrs and we have tried anything and everything and still never seen a bfp. We have unexplained infertility and the only thing left to try is losing some weight.

3. Something interesting about myself.. hmm... I am a Canadian that lives in Holland with my husband. I don't work at the moment, so no excuse for not getting in shape, have the time, but just need the push. We have one fury fuzzy cat. :)

I hope there are others out there that want to form a group and s'port each other thru this tough process.

Hey

New to the group thing. Thanks to gigibeans found which is exactly what I am trying to do, Lose wieght and ttc.

1) I have always been at the top of my wieght range slipping in to over wieght a few times. Recently I have gained a lot of wieght making me considered obese :0. I got a call from my doc today and found out that I have hypothyroidism, yeah fun.

2) I joined caloriecount a while back but kinda quit for a bit started agian yesterday.

3) Joined this group b/c I have been ttcing for 2yrs and lose wieght for about a yr now need some support hope this helps

4) I just enjoyed me 3yr wedding anniversary. I like to dance so I just finished taking a salsa class (forced my hubby to take it) I have one cat lester and my hubby has a dog Fenway (after the boston red sox park, he is a sports NUT!!!)

any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated

Hello

I'm Jessica, 24, married.

1. History with weight loss: I've  been on CC for 1 year or so. Over the year i've slowly lost about 10 kilograms, which I put on due to a 3 year battle with glandular fever and chronic fatigue syndrome

I went from 65kg to 55kg. A healthy weight range for my 5.2 height.

2. History with Calorie Count: about 1 year or checking around the site, but i don't really count calories, just do a guesstimate.

3. Reason for joining this group: I'd like to get to around 52 kg before trying to conceive, around May next year.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

Um....me? I'm Australian. I live in Japan, I work as a christian missionary over here.

Been married for 3 years to my great husband.

I love sewing, cooking soup, painting and things like this :o)

That's about it.

nice to meet you all :o)

Hello!

1. History with weight loss:  After getting married, I gained 35 lbs in about 2.5 years.  I didn't realize quite how big I had gotten till I saw pictures of myself from a vacation.  I decided I needed to lose weight then.

2. History with Calorie Count: When I first started trying to lose weight, I found CC.  It has helped me tremendously to understand how to lose weight, what foods to eat, exercise, etc.  I joined in July 2007.  I'm 5'3, and I was at 165.  I've currently gotten down to 130.

3. Reason for joining this group: I'd like to lose 10-15 more lbs before my husband and I start TTC in the summer.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I'm 23 years old, and I've been married for 4 years.   We are both teachers.  I teach first grade, and he teaches k-12 music.  We currently eat vegan for health reasons.  He has chronic migraines, and a restrictive vegan diet has been the only relief for them.  Since we have gotten the migraines under control, we have decided to it is about time to grow our family :-)

Some of my interests include cooking, reading, sewing, playing wii, and photography.  I love to cook really healthy vegan food.  I find it to be fun and challenging.

Hello to all:

1. History with weight loss: I've been healthy all of my teen life, then I suffered from depression from a tragic occurrence in my life and gained allot of weight as a result. I'm in a much, much better stage in my life and ready for a healthy change and TTC with my wonderful husband.

2. History with Calorie Count: I just joined last week, and what a surprise it has been for the amount of calories I consume it is helping me become more aware of what I eat.

3. Reason for joining this group: I'm 5'3 I'd like to be back at my ideal weight of 130. I have 68 lbs to go, and would love to have a family now.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I'm 25 years old, and I just got married, we both agree on a big family! (4-5 children :) He is a local journalist, and I'm a program assistant for a child welfare program.  I love anything that has to do with art, and anything that allows me to be creative!

1. History with weight loss: I was a chubby kid who thinned out all thru junior high and high school thanks to being super active in sports and dance, managed to avoid the freshman 15, but after htat gained about 20 lbs the rest of college, then lost most for my wedding, gained some but not alot, then got preggo with my DD and gained 70 lbs yikes! never fully got all of it off.

2. History with Calorie Count: Started last Feb 8th was losing some weight but struggling fell off the horse but now back on!

3. Reason for joining this group: I have been TTC for 2 years, diagnosed with Unexplained Secondary Infertility and have tried fertility meds, IUI's and currently seeing an Acupuncturist which has helped relax me and put me in a better place mentallym, decided to push and get the rest off this weight off! Started at 183 down to 162 want to be at 150, 145 would be awesome

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I work FT as a drilling teachnician for an oil and gas comany, have a 4 year old DD, and married to the most wonderful man for over 8 years. 3 Dogs who are way spoiled, hobbies hmmmm love to read and sew but unfortualtey the sewing machine is put up right now due to know where to use it. Also trying to get into running (not going to do a marathon or anythin but a 10K would be cool.)

1. History with weight loss:  I have been heavy my whole life.  Though more so now than ever.  I have tried every diet known to man.  With each I had some success but always gained back the weight and usually then some.  This time I have made up my mind to really look at it as a lifestyle change.   I am working on some other areas of life not just tyring to lose weight.
2. History with Calorie Count:  I have used some calorie counting things before but this is my first time with this particulat\r program.

1. History with weight loss:

I was very athletic when I was young but was just never skinny.  Had heavy soccer legs no matter how skinny I was.  After college, I started to gain weight as I stopped being active.   Just gained ten pounds every two years.  Gained ten pounds again after I became engaged and another ten pounds since we've been married (1.5 years).

I've been able to lose weight before but usually when I was single and would just run every single night.  Now I don't have as much free time.

2. History with Calorie Count:

Been on this before but stopped checking in.  Now my new goal is to honestly enter in everything EVERYTHING into my food log.

3. Reason for joining this group:

My husband and I have been TTC for a year now.  We had a miscarriage in May after four months of trying and nothing since then.  My cycle has become more and more irregular and I'm getting worried.  I'm going to the gyno next week to talk about it and the possibility of test.    I've started to see people's blogs and the huge and depressing journey TTC can be and I pray that I don't have to walk through that journey.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I'm a pastor's wife.  I, myself, work as a crime scene technician and children's photography.  We have really great friends and a sweet dog named Charlie.
And now just go ahead and make that first post!

1. History with weight loss:

I'm an overall healthy person.  I gained a lot of weight in college.  I was 150 pounds and I am 5'2''.  So, I have been trying to watch my weight since then.  Currently I weigh 130 and want to get to 115-118 which will have me at BMI of 22.

2. History with Calorie Count:

I have been a member for about 3 years.  I stopped last year and then I came back in Jan. and found this lovely new format which I love.

3. Reason for joining this group:

DH and I are going to start TTC in April.  I want to have a healthy BMI before we start.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I am a teacher (1st grade) and I coach gymnastics.  I have been married for 1.5 years.  We have a lovely dog named Lily.  I love to play Wii, Rock Band, read good books and go on walks with Lily.  I also live for the summer and laying on the beach.

1. History with weigh loss

I have always struggled with my weight, although I had it pretty under control in my twenties.  Last year I went on Depo before my wedding, and by then end of 2008 was at 195.  I'm not sure if the weight gain was from being on the depo or going off the depo, but I gained about 20 pounds in a 3 month span!?  Ideally I would like to lower my body fat percentage, which is 30% currently, and get down to around 165 lbs.

2) History with CC

I did CC for a while before the wedding to get in shape, but wasn't consistent with it.  I re-started 12/29/2008 and am now almost 3 weeks in.  Still not loosing weight, but working out and feeling stronger.

3) Reason for joining group

I had my last depo shot on 9/11/2008, and got my first period right before christmas.  I thought I was on my way.  Then I was diagnosed with a genetic condition called MTHFR which as I understand is a clotting disorder and also has some thing to do with my body not being able to utilize Folic Acid and B vitamins properly.  So my doctor put me on Folgard and baby aspiring and told me to wait to start trying until February.  Normally this condition is not serious, but I have had a previous pulmonary embolish (PE) after an auto accident in college, so they are going to be very carefull with me. Most likely I will be prescribed Lovenox when I actually do concieve.  Boo.  Not looking forward to daily injections.  But what can you do?

4 Interesting facts

I like to cook, sew, hike and kayak.  My husband and I are both graduates of CU Boulder and we love the outdoors. We have a dog named curtis and can't wait for a baby to add to our family.  Wish us luck!

Hello All

My Name is Nichole. I'm 29 and live in New England.

1. History with weight loss: I wish I could say I have a history with weight loss. I certainly have a history with weight, but losing it has never been one of my strong points. I'm about 5'10" and 235lbs. I was a heavy child and grew into a heavy adult. I've been within 10-15 lbs of my current weight since I was 14. The only exception to that is 4 months before my wedding I started working out 2 hours every morning beginning at 4:30am and eating very little. It worked, but I was miserable. I'm looking for a healthier way.

2. History with Calorie Count: I signed up for it originally in '05, but used it only to look up nutritional information on the foods I ate. I stopped using it very soon after beginning. I'm back this year in full force and for the long haul. :)

3. Reason for joining this group: My husband and I have been TTC for about 2.5 years. We've had 4 MCs and have been seeing a fertility specialist since October. A whole bunch of diagnostic tests later (e.g. SHG, HSG, blood work, chromosomal testing, etc.) they've pretty much told us there's no reason I shouldn't be able to sustain a healthy preganancy. However, I have an unpredictable cycle. So, we start Clomid and Ovidrel with my next one.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I'm the supervisor of the training and customer service department of a small software company. I love my job, but sometimes I'm not sure how I got here. I was a music education major in college. To some extent, I really miss the arts and music scene. There are somethings you can only discuss with other music geeks.

My husband Joe and I have been married for 4 years come April. The way we met is an interesting story I guess. I've known him since I was 13. His younger sister is my best friend. I had the hugest (is that even a word? lol) crush on him all through high school, but I was dating someone and he didn't seem interested. Well, the summer between high school and college changed all of that. We started dating in '97, bought the house in '01, married in '05 and the rest is history.

As far as interests are concerned, music still tops my list. I'm a proud member of my church choir. I also try to get out to a karaoke bar now and again. I desperately need another creative outlet. I love to read and to cook, but I seldom have sufficient time to do either. So, I cook all day Sunday. I cook the meal for that night and meals for the whole week. I read A LOT on vacation. We tend to vacation on the beach. I'll try to make it through 2 novels the week we're away. It completely baffles my husband who's not one to read for pleasure.

Being in New England and being into baseball, I am of course a Red Sox fan. I have no use for most other professional sports, but I am a lifetime member of the Fenway Faithful.

Oh pets... I have one kitty. Her name is Gizmo. When she was a kitten she looked just like a little Mogwai. She was the runt of the litter and is still quite small. though she's fully grown. The litter was feral and she's still very nervous around people. She is a very sweet and loving girl she was just traumatized early on by the humans she encountered. She doesn't trust easily. She hides under the couch whenever we have company.

Ok, novel over now I promise. I wish everyone the best and look forward to sharing our journies.

~ Nichole ~

*waves*  Thanks TxMom04 for turning me onto this group!

1. History with weight loss:  I was always a lil chunky as a kid.  My fave activity was reading so lots of sitting.  As a Freshman I moved in w/ my best friend for 3 months and went on the teenager, eating almost nothing but running like a madwoman from sun up to sundown and dropped down to 115 lbs at 5'5".  I was SKINNY.  Too skinny actually.  After I moved back home I gained 10 back and that was just about right.  Stayed that way the rest of HS.  Went off to college, started bcps, gained 10 lbs.  Grad from college 4 yrs later (was prolly 145 ish), moved in w/ fiance, got married and over the next few yrs gained up to 157 by July 02 when i got pg w/ my son (after 2 yrs of infertility).  Had DS, nursed, went back down to 150 by June 03.  Stopped nursing in sept and was back up to about 160 w/in a month or so.  Fluctuated for the next couple of yrs.  Got my current position in Aug 06 at 160, by May i was up to 180ish (give or take 5 lbs depending on the time of the month/week/day).  Started TTC again Feb 07 and would really like to NOT start a pgcy at my 9 month pg weight w/ DS.
2. History with Calorie Count:  Funny enough I actually signed up LAST year in January after playing with WW for a week free trial.  As w/ most things it kinda went by the wayside as life happened.
3. Reason for joining this group: TxMom04 told me to find her here and when I saw what this group was I thought it would be great support.  Don't have much support at home for weight loss.  Just keep getting told that ur fine, u look fine, ur not fat. blah blah, then he gets upset cuz i won't drop it.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I am a 3rd grade teacher in a lil school district.  It's the job that I could prolly stay with till I retire.  I have a 5 1/2 yr old DS who is my miracle baby and my whole world.  I have lots of animals!  My friends call me Ellie Mae.  We have 2 weenie dogs (boy and girl), a cocker (girl), 3 cats (2 boys, 1 girl), a guinea pig (boy), and a 30 gallon tank of fish.  I love to read!  My most recent addiction has been the Twilight novels.  I like to scrapbook (traditional and digital).  The computer - internet, games.  And most of all chatting w/ good ppl!!!

My name is Eryn, 30, Married, TTC after M/C.

Hi all, my name is Eryn and my DH and I just got married this last June.  We have been together 6 years now and are super happy.  After our wedding, we decided to go off the pill at the end of July.  We weren't preventing pregnancy but we weren't really consciously trying either.  We did conceive at the end of August only to lose it the BB mid November.  Since then, I have really taken a whole new interest in my weight.

I have been on CC for a few years because I have always been conscious of my weight and this site is a really helpful tool.  But since we lost the BB I really started to take more control over getting to a healthy.  The 30 lbs or so that I have gained in the 6 years we have been together is not a whole bunch, but since we are TTC as well, it is more of a reason to just get healthier.  So if we conceive while I am trying to get healthier, then it is just a bonus.  The healthier I am prior to pregnancy the easier pregnancy I will have and I will have an easier time losing post baby weight as well.  Super happy I found this group.

Take care!

Eryn

Hi!  My name is Nikki.

My husband and I got married last April.  We have been together 3 years.  I'm 25 and my husband is 29.  We live in Minnesota, USA.  (It's in the northern part of the country, so we have about 7-8 months of winter, and 4-5 months of warm weather)

When we met, I weighed in at 118 (I'm 5'2"), I was training for a marathon.  That was a weight I was very happy with.  After a major medical issue a year and a half ago, and starting my own business (stress and long hours = poor eating and little exercise), I now weigh 135, and while I've only gone up one pants size, I would like to get down to 118 before we start TTC.

I am also an accountant, so Jan through April is a really busy time of the year for me (14 hour days, six days a week).  DH and I are going to go off birth control in June, and TTC later in the summer.  My doctor has had me taking pre-natal vitamins since last spring.  He recommended taking them up to a year before, so if they make me sick once I am pregnant, he said I could discontinue taking them because I had built up enough of the "good stuff" over the past year.

DH and I own a Snap Fitness together.  Snap Fitness is a 24 hour health club, members get an access card when they sign up, and then they can come whenever they want day or night.  You'd think owning a gym would mean I work out all the time, but with maintenance and cleaning, I can sometimes only get in the gym to work out twice a week.  As I said before I'm also an accountant, and DH also owns a tree service, so he has his long hours in the summer (from May through Oct).  We are tyring to time it so I'm due after tax season (April 15th).  That way I wouldn't have to go back to work full time until January.

Hi my name is Meghan and I am excited to find a group of people who have a similar goal as I do.

1. I have been heavy most of my life, I lost a lot of weight in highschool and got down to close to 170 but started having problems with depression my senior year and have since went up to 220 and have stayed steady ever since.  There have been a few times where I was able to drop several pounds (20 my sophomore year in college) but I can never keep it off.

2. I joined caloriecount about 2 weeks ago in order to keep myself more accountable for what I am eating.

3. I joined this group b/c my DH and I would like to start TTC in a few months and I would like to drop as many pounds as possible before then.  I really don't want to start a pregnancy at 200 pounds-my goal is to be as close to 170 as possible before then.

4. Something interesting about myself...hmmm... This has been the busiest year of my life- I graduated from college in May, got married in July, moved from Ohio to Wyoming in August, and started my first job as an English teacher in September and we have 3 cats: Liberty, Leo, and Lexus.

Hello everyone!

My name is Ma'Ressa. My husband and I have been married 2years and have been ttcing for most of that time. As another poster said I also have fertility problems that have no found medical basis.

1) I have been over weight my entire life and along with that my cycle has been irregular. I see a corelation because at times in my life I have lost large amounts of weight and everytime I have my cycle became more regular. The last time was I lost more weight then I ever have and to our suprise I got pregnant, but it ended sadly with a miscarriage. My doctor assured me that there was nothing worng with me and that carrying a child sould not be an issue form me.

2) I joined CC in November of 2008 after getting a new Family Physician and a serious talk about my health. I started at 268 and as of today am down to 237. I am very proud of that and plan to keep going until I reach a healthy weight.

3) I joined this group because I feel kind of alone in my struggle. All of my friends and family have not had these kinds of issues and it is hard to talk to them about it because they can't possibly know how to deal with my situation. Plus I hope I can help someone else feel better about the struggle they are going through.

4)As for me there is not much to tell. I am a property manager of 4 apartment buildings, which is very interesting. My husband and I have a new Boxer puppy named Bianca, she is all white with one pale blue eye and one brown eye. She is supposed to be a guard dog but I think all the licking and tail wagging everytime someone comes to the house is going to be her down fall in that occupation.

As for hobbies and such, I am an avid reader. I will read just about anything I find. I would have to say my main hobby right now is our home. My husband thinks I am a little crazy. He doesn't understand why a person needs to paint every room in a brand new house, but I could never live with beige walls. I guess it goes with my psychology degree and training, my rooms have to evoke some emotional response for me. I love color, textiles, texture and everything else that goes with designing a space to live in. My mom thinks I went to school for the wrong thing but acttually is has made a big impact. I do small design and decorating work and it makes me a lot happier than my job so maybe one day. :)

I could not even begin to say how amazing my husband is, so I won't bore you with that 5 hour post! Well I think I have kept you long enough. Thanks for reading.

My story read like yours two years ago. Graduated college in May, married in July and bought a house in October. I hope you reach your goals!

I've been part of this group for some time and I just wanted to post that even though I'm still overweight my hubby and I have been TTC for over 1 year  (almost 2) and when I lost 20 lbs we are finally pregnant with our first! so keep up the good work ladies and it will happen for you too! Smile
