Hi all,

i've never done this before, so please bear with me!!! i'm have been trying to lose 10-15 for the last 2 years. 4 years ago i went thru divorce and  after all was said and done, i was at a weight i haven't seen in a long time, 120,  in the meantime it has all come back and 5 more. i've been working out, mostly running and part of my goal is to become a law enforcement officer, alas the 'handle', so i have great ambition, but i get bored waiting for results. i haven't been to the gym in awhile, and am trying to find the time

i have recently given up wine and beer, yes that was hard, but i truly believe they contribute to part of my gain!!! per the food log, my diet is a grade A, so that is great, but i just don't seem to lose the pounds!!!

any pointers is greatly appreciated and support of course as well; and i will offer the same in return!! i would so love to be at 120-125 again!!!

HI!

I have been on CC for about 3 years now.  I first came here to lose weight for my, now, best friend's wedding.  I did it.  I lost 30 pounds.  Then I started Law School and gained 10, then had knee surgery and gained another 10.  So I came back.  I have lost 10 now but I want to lose another 15 - 20.  I am 5'2 and very small framed so I want to be about 115- 120.

I am having a hard time with this.  I have been stuck in the mid 120's for a while (127 - 129) and I start losing faith that I can lose anymore.  I know I can, I have done it once, but now that I am 29, it is just getting harder!

I have a dog and 2 cats and I am an active person.  I have found that if I don't get exercise it affects my attitude and how I see myself no matter how untrue it may really be.  I hope to get the motivation that I need for that last 15!!

Hi...I'm also new at this, and at the very "old" end of the scope, here, with 39 creeping up on me, next week. I'm a mother of 4 daughters, aged 13, 15, 17 & 20...I will be a grandmother any day now, compliments of my 20 year old.  I have a "medium frame" (who knew? Guess I can't say I'm "big-boned" anymore, hmm?), 5'7" and 162 lbs.  I smoke 1/2 pack a day, so exercise is slow going, but the patch will be delivered any day now, so that's another hurdle I'll be jumping, along with weight loss.  My target weight is 143-ish, although I'd personally rather be at an even 140, max.

I have to wonder if I'm being unrealistic, but my family and I did a 25KM (15mile) bike ride for Multiple Sclerosis (my mom was diagnosed 10 years ago), and I only made it 5 miles (1/2 hour)!  I was the only person brought back to the start line by "support vehicle", with my bike strapped to the back of it, out of 160 riders - many aged 60 or older!  It was almost the most humiliating thing I've ever experienced, and I vowed, that after a one week "binge" of every fast food restaurant for lunch and junk food that I loved, I was DONE.

It's day 3 for me on a 1,600 calorie a day diet (my 15 year old is tracking her calorie intake, as well, on here)..I have a headache, I'm hungry and I am still not motivated enough to go out and take a walk.  Although, the calorie counting is easy, I'm afraid to get UP and MOVE. What is wrong with me?

I'm hoping that by listening and following along with others here, that I'll find the inspiration I need to persevere...I also hope I can help someone else!

Hi Everyone!

This is my first day on CC. I've been trying to drop a few pounds for the past 5 years (since my 5 year old was born). I decided to get on a "program" after hitting 200 lbs last Sunday. A few weeks earlier, my wife had taken pictures of me playing with my kids at the beach. Not pretty. Enough is enough.

My biggest problem is a lack of discipline. I LOVE a nice bowl of Ben & Jerry's at night, after the (3) kids have finally been put to bed. I know that's not a good habit, but don't I deserve a little reward by the end of the day? I also like to drink Gatorade during the day (better than Coke, right?). Turns out it actually has as many calories as soda. Bummer.

So here I am. The last couple of days I dropped the Gatorade and drink water instead. I gave up the bowl of ice cream and have an ice cream sandwich instead. At dinner I'm having one portion, not the Big Daddy helping, and I don't finish the leftovers on the stove.

I'm 51, a professor on Long Island. I was once considered skinny ("Q-Tip" was my nickname in high school). They said the weight would come as I got older, and it did, with a vengeance. I've been a runner and a triathlete (I did the Ironman in 2002), but playing Dad for my last two kids have seriously affected my workout plans and led to the weight increases. I'd like to get down to 179 and I'd like my pants to fit again.

You all have some very interesting stories. I wish you all luck in meeting your goals!

My name is shelby, my father recently past away 6 months ago, so ive been eating my stress away i have gained about, 20-25 pounds. I would like to loose those 20 pounds. I have never really counted my calories befor cuz iv oways been little and skinny, but i wish i did when i was younger. I am currently in school and i work in a restraunt, i got a job to keep me busy after my dad past away. so thats about it on me!Tongue out

My name is Cheryl.

Ever since I was born I always had that "baby fat" look.  I lost a lot of weight in high school and then gained it back in college.  Now that I am into my 2nd year of work, I am am the largest I have ever been, 140 at height 5 feet, 2 inches.

I started calorie count August 7th 2008, so help log my food intake and realize that certain food are as bad as people say (ex. french fries and trail mixes!)

I joined this group to see if any one has the same struggles I have and see what people have done to reach their goals.

I am an auditor, I sit all day.  I have personal trainer and my boyfriend is trying to gain 10 to 20 pounds!  If could just transfer my wieght to him, I would! I am totally a social and emotional eater.

That's all!

Hiya! I'm Helen and I am getting married in April which is why I am trying to lose a little weight! I joined calorie count as it has calorie information, and also I reall love the weight tracking graphs! I have lost a stone already, so just 20lbs to go!! But my down fall is that I LOVE food, and have possibly taken the wrong approach to dieting "as long as I count the calories, I can eat what ever I want" - not sure that's very accurate to be honest! I'm not particularly overweight, I'm currently 5ft5 and 140lbs and have joined a gym (Curves) which I am actually going to thanks to my mum being uber motivated! haha!

I think that's enough about me for now :o) xxx

Hello, my name is Emily and I have been on CC for about 3 weeks now.  I have done CC before, a few winters ago, and it was very successful.  I gained the 12 lbs back that I lost due to grad school, finding a post-school job, moving etc.  So here I am again.  I like CC because it keeps you responisble for what you are eating, and makes you realize that if you are going to eat something high calorie, you really do need to do some extra work for it!  I am 26, 5'5" and about 140 lbs, working towards 134 right now.  I would eventually like to be 125, which I have not seen since high school, but I have a feeling anything under 135 is good.  I run marathons and am currently in training, so I am trying to learn how to balance weight loss and calorie counting with strenuous workouts.  My main goal is to lose these last couple of pounds healthily and with a lifestyle change that can benefit me in the future.

And thats me!

Hi...my name is Marcia.  I live in the West Palm Beach area.  I have been a member of CC for the past year and it helps to keep track of the food I put in my mouth.  I have lost 20 lbs. but want to lose another 10.  It's been tough.  I have stayed at the same weight for the past 2 mos.  I can't seem to break thru the plateau.  Any one have any suggestions?

Hi! I'm Kristen

1. History with weight loss: I've been at this weight for at least a year (145), I lost 22 lbs three years ago while serving in the military in Afghanistan. I worked out at least an hour a day and was surrounded by people with the same goals.
2. History with Calorie Count: Just joined last week.
3. Reason for joining this group: I want to meet others with similar goals for encouragement and support.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I'm serving in Americorps in Denver. I just graduated from Indiana University with a BPA (Public Affairs) in Nonprofit Management. I have a wonderful boyfriend of 3 years that works for Namaste Solar, the largest solar company in Colorado. We just moved here together in February and we love it! We also have two cats that are super mischievous!

Hi

My name is Carmella. I have been with Calorie count for about 3 mos now. In the begining I was doing really well.  I lost 7 lbs in about a month. Then my friend was getting married I was a bridesmaid, which if you have been there before can be a real stressful job. Stopped going to the gym and eating well. Then I moved and have been eating a lot of horrible fast food because I had no kitchen to cook in. I gained 3lbs back. I restarted my good way of eating on 8/20/2008. I am really trying to get back on track but I am just a little discouraged because of the gain. I was doing so well. I really do need the encouragement of other people going through the same challenges as me. I work for Solano Family and children services which I am a case manager for families that are eligible to help pay for their child care. I am a single woman, no kids, and I have a roommate. I also have a really cute kitten her name is Tiger Lily. I love to bake and cook and travel.

Hi there. My name is Lori. I am 39 years old. I have a 14 year old and an almost 2 year old (no i didn't mean to wait that long in between ~ it was just my body would not cooperate after years of taking Depo Provera birth control..... and yes same daddy for both. Can you tell i have been asked these questions countless times?? :))  Anyway, after the birth of my last child, i decided i was going to get healthy so i could be around to see his children grow up. My post-partum weight was 204 in November 2006. I am now at 159 and holding. I am 5'5" tall. According to the BMI charts i am still overweight and need to lose 25 more pounds. I can honestly say i have never weighed that little but am willing to give it a shot. The lowest weight i ever remember being is 140 and that was because first child nursed me dry until she was 1 1/2. I work a very sedentary desk job 8-5 M-F. I do attempt to exercise on the weekends but am pooped during the week. I read the forums faithfully and have gotten incredibly great info from all the wonderful members. This is my very first post. Good luck to all of us.

Hi everyone, glad to know you. I have alot in common with bobsbestgirl in that I am pushing my 39th year. My mom also has MS and was diagnosed about 20 years ago. I have been with CC for 6 months and have lost 40lbs in the last year. I have another 10ish to go (5'2", 139lbs now) - I like running and weight training. I have never felt so FIT and healthy in my life. I have definately weighed less - although not for a long time!- but my workouts have really helped me to feel not only healthier but like I can do anything. I have been overweight for the last 20 years. Of all the things in my life I have to say I am most proud of the changes in my body and eating/health related habits as they were the hardest to accomplish. I have struggled this summer with maintaining and am now getting back into the "loss" mode as vacations are over and the kids are heading back to school. I have found CC so helpful and when I look back on the summer I realize that I haven't been using it as I should be and that has been part of the problem. So I am back, and I am on track!

Hello to all.  Mmmmmmm, I am new to this, but  I am glad it found me.  I am 5'4 and weigh approximately 141 lbs.  I have been trying to loose 20 lbs and it has being quite difficult.  I believe I would be more succesful with a suppot group, so that is why I joined.  I am 39, I got married a year ago today, I am happily married and we want a family soon.  I have a beautiful dog her name is nani and next year I will have finished my master is exercise physiology.  so for the most part, i do know what to do, I believe I just need the support.  Thanks, to all.

Hi Everyone.  About me:

1. History with weight loss: I've been at my current weight of 136 lbs for the last year or so and would like to get down to 120-125 lbs.  Prior to that I weighed 167 lbs (post-partum weight) and before the pregnancy in my peak fitness, I weighed 125 lbs (I was 135 lbs when I got pregnant as I'd been pretty sedentary recovering from sports injuries).

2. History with Calorie Count: I joined CC in April 2008, but have not been consistent in using it, or very focused on my goals to lose 10-15 lbs.

3. Reason for joining this group:  I am joining this group in the hopes that it will help keep me motivated and accountable to my goals of eating better and doing better journaling/tracking of what I eat and my activities.  I want to lose the extra weight and get fit again before getting pregnant again.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I'm 31, 5'3", I do accounting work so am mostly sitting all day.  I love playing soccer and that is another motivation for losing the extra lbs and getting in better shape...I wouldn't mind getting back to my "former glory". :D  I'm married and have a 2 yr old little boy and a dog who all help to keep me active.  They are also part of my major motivation and support for getting back into prime shape.

I wish us all great success in our weightloss goals!

Hey everyone :)

My name is aLena and this is my first day on caLorie count.  Ever since I got married on October 6, 2007, I probabLy gained about 5 lbs and I've been trying to lose it ever since.  I'm 20 yrs old, 5'8 in height, and weigh about 129lbs.  It doesn't seem too bad but I still want to lose at Least 10lbs to look more fit.

Last week I started getting more serious about my weight-Loss and decided to write down everything I ate each day in a journaL, that is untiLL I found out about this great program.  It makes it so much easier to do!

I currentLy attend Sac State University as a fuLL time Accounting student, and spend the rest of my time cooking, taking care of the house, pLaying wit my pomeranian (watson), hanging out with friends, and spending time with my hubby.  I'm not a very active person, because I spend a great deal of my time sitting at a desk doing homework, but I wouLd definiteLy Like to improve that.

I am very excited about this new experience, and hope to make new friends with similar goaLs and interests. :D

i am new to cc and i found this website by mistake.  i am currently a member of weight watchers although this time around i have not been very successful.  i'm hoping that this website will be an additional tool for me to use in addition to the weekly ww meetings.

i'm 40 years old and have 3 wonderful children, an awesome husband and a cute lovable cat.  i struggled in my late teens and twenties with an eating disorder that i've always kept to myself.  i have never been happy with my body and now that i'm 40, i want to be happy.  i have at least 10 lbs to lose.  i have a really hard time losing.

i am a physically active person - i ran a marathon last year.  excercise helps me with stress - it's something i need but i love it too.
