Hey!

I was posting in the other thread and thought I'd commit to the group :)

I just started trying to lose weight in May of this year and so far have lost over 30 pounds.  I'm 5 ft 4 and around 130 give or take.  Not too sure if I want to continue losing more or just maintain.

I've just finished the intense application process for doing my MSW.  It probably seemed more intense because I had to do everything from overseas.

I'm currently teaching in South Korea and have been here for almost 4 years.  I love it but feel like I want to go to grad school before I'm thirty (I'm 27 on Saturday!) and if I don't make the break now I may become a lifer.  I have loved it here because I can teach kids (who rock!) as well as do a lot of traveling.  I've also managed to pay off all my student loans which isn't too shabby.

I'm just here to learn more about what I should look for in a program and what to expect.  I've applied to U of T, UBC and Carleton if anyone has any good stuff to offer me there.

Thanks for starting the group pgeorgian.  I'm sure it will be really helpful!

hey firebrand - i'm sure it will be helpful if anyone joins ;)  seems like we're not the only canadians in the bunch, so that helps, too.

[aside: i'm a moderator!  i can moderate!  i'm drunk with power!]

hey, i wish i found this earlier.  i never look into the lounge forum.

i'm a sociology major with an emphasis in social work and i will be graduating soon so i don't know what to do after that.  i don't really wont to be a social worker where i have to travel to clients' homes.

as for graduate school which so many of you are doing, which is great.  i've thought about it but i don't think i will go for a MSW, i'm would be heading for academic counseling instead.  as of now, i'm just trying to get as many internships under my belt.
