Hi!  My name is Terri Ann and I am 39, 5'6 and about 160 pounds.  I have wide hips and big thighs!  I was on a primarily raw diet and got down to about 150 over the last two years.  I have tried several diets and this works the best for me.  Too many carbs and I blow up!  I went off this diet over the summer.  I got a new boyfriend and I let my diet go!  I also tore my ACL (dancing with my new boyfriend) and just had knee surgery two months ago.  I love to workout with weights in the gym, but since my surgery my mobility is limited and my ability to workout is very low.  My bad diet has caught up with me and I realize my size 8 jeans are getting tight!

So I joined this website and have the goal to lose at least 15 pounds.  I am back on a strict diet and would love to share ideas and talk to other people that want to lose weight or eat raw too.  I find making food every day to be a waste of my time.  I try not to eat any processed food (except the occasional pizza).  I am not planning to be perfect with the diet, but I try to be strict at least 3 out of 4 days.  I also try to eat a balance of good protein, carbs, and fat at each meal.  I mostly choose nuts, peanut butter, avacados, and olives as my fats.

I have 6 dogs and 3 chickens.  I stopped eating meat about 3 years ago.  I became severely anemic and have been taking lots of iron pills.  I get eggs from my own chickens, so I am not a vegan.  I actually must admit as a vegetarian I became very tired all the time, even with the replacement iron pills.  I started to eat small quantities of lean meat about 4 months ago and I feel so much better.  I am convinced something was missing in my diet!  I tried all kinds of vitamins that I could have been lacking before eating meat again (like B12).  I prefer the vegetarian and raw lifestyle.  I love my pet chickens too!  But for now I am compromising with small amounts of meat 2-3 times/week and fish almost daily to make me feel more balanced.

I take lots of supplements, but not on a daily basis.  I take fish oil pills and Vitamin D, Vitamin E, and Glucosamine Chondroitin.  I also take herbs and other vitamins too.
