HI,

My name is Leila, I am 41 , 5'5 and now 142. I am on CC from May and lost 6 pounds. I am glad that i found CC, before i was on South Beach Diet for 2 years and lost 15 pounds but then gained it back + more. So i like that it is not a diet and you don't really restrict yourself from eating certain food, like fruits and vegetables.

I live in Maryland,  around Baltirmore area. Just thought that it would be interesting to meet somebody from my area.

Hi, I'm Valerie. I live at Fort Meade (about 15 min sw of Baltimore) with my husband who's stationed here. I joined CC last year after having my second child because I gained quite a bit of weight during the pregnancy. I've pretty much reached my goal except for 10 more lbs by using Alli, dieting and exercising. I'm just having a hard time losing the last 10 lbs and thought it might be nice to possibly meet or chat with people in my general area who have the same fitness goals in mind.

Hi im Gerri im live in westminster. I just joined here. Im trying to lose weight would be nice to find someone close to talk to about goals and exercises. Im new to eating healthy so trying to get some tips to make weightloss successful.

Hi I'm Renee, I'm 38, 5'4" and currently 125 lbs. (started CC in Feb. at 148 lbs.) I live in Frederick with my husband of 14 yrs. and 4 children.  I think it'll be fun to talk to people in the surrounding areas for motivation and support.

Hi I'm Pam and I live in Havre de Grace, MD which isn't far from Baltimore, MD with my husband of 25 years and 2 grown sons.  I joined CC a while back but didn't stick with it.  I came back in June and I've been steady at it ever since.  I've currently lost 25 pounds and am trying to get to my first goal of 30 pounds lost which is what I gained when I quit smoking in December.  It would be I've met some wonderful friends on here and would love to meet some more.

My name is Cat I joined CC in Feb 08 but didn't stick with it.  I gained back the 10 lbs lost and then some and am back again.  I am 32 and gained 75 lbs while pregnant and only lost 25.  My ultimate goal is to lose 50 lbs but my short term goal is 20 lbs by Dec 1.  I am going skiing for the first time post baby and if I don't lose at least 20 lbs I may blow out a knee or something (plus my ski pants don't fit and I don't want to buy a new pair).  I do jazzercise twice a week am measuring all my portions and banning beer until I show some sign of progress. Anybody got some better ideas to help?  It took me 3 months to lose 10 lbs last time so I really need some help.

I've been a CC'er for a long time. It is great to learn about what people in B-more are up to! I actually live in Essex with my husband and three cats and a myriad of friendly visitors from many places taking up my guest rooms. :)

I am a history major at Goucher College in Towson and work everyday at the Village Learning Place as a teacher's assistant for an afterschool programs on downtown. It is a great job, and I certainly find it a lot more worthwhile than writing a million papers for school.

I am always ready to talk about food. I don't go overboard with my "dieting". I am interested in taking things slowly. I have lost 20 pounds since June doing it my own way and creating good habits. I love to go out with friends, check out local bars and restaurants and eat good food. I'm not changing that but am just adjusting my awareness. If you have the same style I'd love to talk!

I am 26, 5'4", live in Federal Hill and right now, I'm weighing in at 156 lbs. I work in Montgomery County and go to school at nights for nursing in Howard County.. My days are long and the vending machine dinners are starting to catch up with me, not to mention the horrible bar food because it's easy and close. All I ever did was run.. from 5th grade until my 2nd year in college and was always in shape and fit. 2 years ago I lost about 30 lbs with Ultra90 and it slowly found me again. My goal is to be 130lbs by the middle of January and I'm pretty sure I can do it.  I am starting to eat  healthy with a co-worker so we have support from alteast 8-3 Monday thru Friday.. always interested in learning about new recipes and such...

Hello!~ My name is Jenalee and I have been using CC for about 2 years. I'm 5'6, 21 years old and when I joined CC I was 150 pounds, after about 6 months I dropped 23 pounds and now maintain at around 127 or so.

I live in Baltimore county and my goal is to build muscle/definition like a fitness model :)

Hi.........my name is Ann.  I join CC awhile ago but have not really used it.  I made the decision to lose this extra weight and I am going to do it this time.  I live in Parkville and I am a single mom of two.

I start school to be PTA in August and it is very demanding on me mentally and physcially.   I know when I graduate it will benefit me greatly to be in my best physical shape.  I also want to set a good example for my kids.  My son and daughter are getting older and I don't want to be an embarrassment to them in front of their friends. I want them to be proud of who their mom is.

My name is Joe I am 40 years old live in Maryland. Divorced and I’m still close to my step-son get to see him almost every day. I am working on career number 2 I went back to school and I am taking Network Management online at Westwood College. I am ex-Navy submariner, served from 87’ to 92’ stationed in Pearl Harbor HI. I now work for the Army Corps of Engineers in Chesapeake City Md as a marine traffic controller for the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Interests include surf-fishing and photography.

History with weight loss has been in the fashion of a YO-YO. I have tried several different diets, but I think it’s my lack a trying harder because I blame my job as a shift worker from getting to that end goal. But now I am just sick and tired of being like this so time to suck it up and “Just do-It”.

History with CC: none first timer here.

Hi, my name is Andrea, 35 year old newly single mom of 2 in Bel Air, MD.   I joined CC in mid November and have the Calorie counter app installed on my BlackBerry...

Since joining CC a few weeks ago, I've already lost about 5 lbs by keeping track of my calories intake and burn daily which has truly kept me accountable.

My goal is to lose about 15-18 additional lbs as I have a small frame and I'm 5'3" and tone up big time...no more jello thighs or arms.

I recently ordered P90X, i hit the gym no less than 3 days per week and Santa will be bringing me Wii Fit for Christmas.

Hello,

My name is Steve and I currently reside in Odenton Maryland. I joined CC a couple of days ago and have been happy with the results so far. I am looking forward to reading stories and workout advice.

About a year ago I herniated three disks in my back which put me on my back for approximately 4 months. I am as close to 100% now as I think I will ever be. My goal is to lose approximately 25lbs and regain all the strength that I lost from my back injury, and get down to 12% body fat.

I work out about 5-6 days a week so hopefully I will quickly achieve my goal though I am not keeping my hopes up.

It's nice to see some members from Maryland since most I've seen have been from California.

Hi Valerie, I am Faith. I live in Baltimore.

I am curious about your experience with Alli. Could you tell me how it worked for you?  Thanks.

Faith, I am curious about ALLI too.  My mother-in-law said it wreaked havoc on her digestion and that her bowel movements were "greasy" like pizza grease.  Don't know if this is true or not, I haven't ever tried it.  Plus, she tends to exaggerate a bit....I am looking for some feedback from anyone who has got any!

Hi- I've been on CC for well over a year (on & off).  I'm  33 have two little boys and a husband that is a workout maniac (which actually helps to keep me motivated to go to the gym-most of the time)!  I've been doing the weight loss thing most of my life but esp. over the last 3 and a half years.  When I started working on losing weight (3 1/2 yrs ago) after having my 2nd son I was at 179lbs (I'm just barely 5'4").  I dropped to my lowest weight back in spring/summer 2007 when I was at 133-134lbs. Then I did an internship for Grad school & lacked the time & motivation to get to the gym and wasn't watching what I was eating & I went up to about 140-141lbs.  I sat there for a long time and started back at the gym regularly and my body fat went down but the scale stayed the same.  Then April 2008 I fell off my bike and hurt my wrist-I found out last summer I'd need surgery to fix it.  I got busy through the summer w/another grad class and kids summer camps & so forth as well as I got extremely aggravated (sp?) about not being able to lift the weight that I was lifting prior to my injury so I just stopped going to the gym.  I had my wrist surgery back in Oct 08 then had recovery/therapy for that which kept me out of the gym as well.  I gained another 12lbs through that & over the holidays.  That's about where I am now- 152lbs and looking to get back down into the 130lb range and lowering my body fat % which went way up over the last 9mths w/not going to the gym and lifting.  I currently go to the gym 4-6 days/week for at least an hour (some days more).  I work w/a personal trainer 1-2 days/week and do cardio the other days.  I'm really trying to pay alot of attention to what I eat as well as getting the most out of my exercise time.  I'm in Carroll County, Md.

Wow, you are truely an inspiration.  I live  in Windsor Mill,  and work out in Ellicott City (Fit Quest).  I am thinking about moving my membership to Planet Fitness because it is 24 hours.  I have only been on CC since 2/14.  Started at 196 pounds and lost 5 pounds.  I am walking on the treadmill everyday for 60 minutes.  What is  your calorie intake?

Shelley

How can I make walking fun?

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
