My average calorie intake is somewhere between 1300-1600 depending on the day & what's going on.  I'm wondering if that's enough or too much as I really seem stuck right now(at least as far as the scale goes).  I'm hoping that something changes soon!!

Hi Everyone ! my name is Nicole and I am a mother of 3 a 10,5,&3 year old . I live near Arbutus. I am 28 and 5'5" . I started at 163 lbs. I pretty much drank tea with LOTS of sugar all day and didn't eat till about 1 or2 pm . Well I wanted to lose some weight so me and my sister had a little bit of a competition . well I decided to stick with it . I started just jumping on checking calories in food . Then I joined cc . I am now 149 lbs . I took all the clothes off my expensive hanger (treadmill) and started to use it . Now I use it 6 days a week and give myself a break on Sundays. I think support is a major key in losing weight . My kids will even eat some of the food I eat now with me Thats cool well nice to meet everyone.

Hi, Dee 54. I just started here on CC. It is a big help calculating calories, and keeping track of them. At days end I am less likely to eat too much. I live in Elkridge Md, near Ellicott City. Married, mom a d grand mom. I work in Towson for a large Ortho Group, and we are doing the biggest loser. We weigh in on fridays. We are finishing week 2 tomorrow.

Hi, I'm Cindy from Harford County.  I'm 46, single, with a son.  Just joined CC today. Love the idea of a grade for my food choices!!!  I've been a fanatic exerciser for over 3 years - go to the gym 4-5x a week - but fooled myself that I could indulge, have a stressful job and think I'd lose weight.  Wasting money and sick of it!  Like Mel Fisher said "Today's the day!"

Hey all.... Well I have been a member of CC for almost a year, but this is the first time I have really decided to take things seriously.  I have been "slowly" putting on weight since getting married just over 5 yrs ago.  I am really needing to get trimmed back down, not just for me, but my son is getting older and I don't want him growing up with a fat father.  From the looks of things, I am the only one down towards Southern Maryland.  If I am wrong, it would be nice to get a reply from someone.  I have always been pretty active physically, but feel my biggest issue is controling my eating.  I love to eat, who doesn't.  I am hoping that being more active with CC and this group might work to allow me to realize how much I am actually consuming on  a daily basis.  I know the old formula works (I have used it before)  If Cals burns is greater than cals consumed, you will lose weight.  So is there anyone out there interested in working with me???  Also I am hoping to find some friends to be come jogging/running partners.  Hope to hear from someone soon, and good luck to you all.

Adam

Hi, joined CC to get real info to assist with changing to healthier lifestyle and weight.  Live in Essex with child, so if you live in the area we are always looking for walking/playdate buddies. Weight gained over a period of 4yrs of heavy stress. Now that I have eliminated the stress, my focus is on regaining a healthy me. I'm a mom 1st, so I'm into the chuckiecheese, portdiscovery, park playdate stuff, we bowl, mini golf, go carts, and most importantly laugh until we gasp for air, simply put we have fun. We plan to rescue a dog in a few years however we are the proud owners of a rabbit.

Hello !  I am much older than most everyone in this group so I feel out of place posting here.. I will say that I am overweight (270) and Type II diabetic. I need to lose 100 pounds and thought I could find a "weight buddy" here.  I'll cruise around the site and look at all.

Hello,

My name is Steve and I currently reside in Odenton Maryland. I joined CC a couple of days ago and have been happy with the results so far. I am looking forward to reading stories and workout advice.

About a year ago I herniated three disks in my back which put me on my back for approximately 4 months. I am as close to 100% now as I think I will ever be. My goal is to lose approximately 25lbs and regain all the strength that I lost from my back injury, and get down to 12% body fat.

I work out about 5-6 days a week so hopefully I will quickly achieve my goal though I am not keeping my hopes up.

It's nice to see some members from Maryland since most I've seen have been from California.

Hi Steve,

I know you posted this back in January, so please bear with me as I am just now getting back to this group, lol. Anyway, just wanted to say hello...you are not far from me at all. I'm at Ft. Meade. Smile

Hi all! This is Gillian. I'm 27, a teacher and I live in Westminster with my boyfriend. I'm 5'7" and 230 lbs. My goal is to by 150 by next June.

I just joined but I'm already loving this site. If anyone is from my area, let me know! Smile

Hello from Hanne!  I'm a woman like all of you who needs to lose a significant amount of weight (80 pounds) to reach an ideal weight.  I'm starting at 225 today -- 50 years old, two grown children, one spouse, two elderly parents, and a very hectic job as a Special Education Teacher.

My daughter told me about the Calorie Count program -- and I am willing to try something to hold myself accountable.  I eat healthy food -- I just eat too much of it, so tracking my intake on a daily basis has to help. I also think I will be motivated to increase my calorie expenditures by increasing exercise.

I live closer to Annapolis than Baltimore -- but I'm happy to have "neighbors" for support.  Good luck to us all!

Hi all I'm Tony. I have about 115 pounds to lose. I've been on and off of CC for a while now. I haven't been able to stick with it yet, hopefully one of the times I'll try and it'll "stick". It seems every positive change in my life so far has come with 20 extra pounds. Quit smoking = 20 lbs, each promotion at work = 20 lbs (more sedentary). Losing weight is even more of a challenge since I dislike most vegetables and hate exercise.

That said I haven't failed to lose weight since I haven't stopped trying.

I live in Anne Arundel County near the B&A trail midway between Marley Station and Severna Park. If anyone is looking for a walking partner a few times a week, well, misery loves company.

Well this is my first post I have been a member since March 09.  I lurk almost daily. I live in Carroll County and will be 44 soon.  I am 5'11'' tall and now weight 270 pounds.Yell Several years ago I was at 325 pounds and lost 155 pounds. I put 10 of that back on because when I was at 170 people said I looked sick.  Even at 170 I was not happy with what I looked like in the mirror.  The loose skin was really bad.  I was denied insurance coverage for surgery and became very frustrated.  I was beginning to think why bother.

I met the love of my life and married him a year later.  We have now been married 1 year and since meeting him I have put 90 pounds back on.  I feel really bad again.  I have knee, hip and back problems that are compounded by my increased weight.  When I first joined I lost 15 pounds but have since put it back on.  It is so very difficult to do this time.  I was single last time and was able to empty the house of all bad carbs and sweets.  My husband tries to support me but I just can't seem to do it this time. I have about given up hope of getting back to 180 pounds were I need to be because of my health not what I see in the mirror.

Hey everyone.  I'm Megan.  I live in NE B'more City and I work out at the 33rd street Y (where the old stadium was) and also walk around my neighborhood and area parks etc.  I just started the New Rules of Weight Lifting For Women. If anyone here also goes to the Y late mornings and would like to connect, let me know.

Hiya! Im Julia and I live in Baltimore City near Sinai Hospital. I am a single mother who works in DC I am currently 190.2 lbs and want to meet my goal of 145-150 before my 34th birthday!

Hey all. My name is Jess and I am almost 30 years old (November 19th) and live in Glen Burnie. I am currently about 170 lbs and I'd love to be around 140 by next summer. I've been saying this exact thing for the past year since my ex and I broke up. I am excited about this coming Tuesday. I begin classes online at Ashford University. I am hoping to get my BA in Criminal and Social Sciences with a specialty in Forensics. Yes, I'm a CSI freak! Well if there are anybody in my area looking for a workout buddy please don't be afraid to ask or leave me a message. I'd be happy to have someone to walk the bike path with other than my mom...LOL.

Hello. My name is Sue and I am 59 yrs old, the mother of 7 grown children, grandmom to 5. I am a medical transcriptionist and just got laid off from a local hospital. I work a bit from home.  I currently weigh 237 pounds and I am very ashamed to admit that. I am only 5 feet 4. I have enjoyed purusing this site and seeing the recipe calorie calculator (great tool!) and exercise charts. I have started walking and I am trying to keep my calories below 1600...but just saw this site suggests 1200! Ouch. I am doing a lot of cooking with spaghetti squash, cauliflower and butternut squash and find that helps a lot. I crave chocolate and pizza. Happy to have others join me on this journey.
