1. My history with weight loss isn't too complicated...I have never been extremely overweight, i just have a problem staying healthy and active.  Gain some here and there and then go back to trying to lose it.  kind of the yo yo effect I guess.  I hope being on here can get me back into the swing of things!

2. History with Calorie Count: I joined last summer before I went to Hawaii in August and it worked very well for me!  I lost about 10+ lbs in a little over 2 months and was at a weight I really enjoyed.  But, once I returned from Hawaii I started eating whatever I wanted and now I'm back to where I was when I started!

3. Reason for joining this group: One, to let people know this site can really help out!  I did it religiously for about a month and after that point I'd get on CC when I didn't know about how many calories I was at for the day...but after awhile you start to know on your own when you eat similar things weekly!  It also helped me to try new foods w/lower fat and calories.  It's amazing how much reading the label makes a difference!  Two, I'm on here to try to get back to my goal weight from when I was going to Hawaii.  I figure w/the holidays coming, I'm going to need to watch it!

4. About me: I work a fairly normal schedule from about 930 - 6 M-F.  I live w/my boyfriend  which makes it quite challenging at times!  haha.  Although, he bears w/me when I'm trying to eat healthy for the most part.  It's just hard to eat small portions sometimes w/him around!  Cooking for only 2 is tough sometimes too b/c there are always leftovers (that we never eat) if you don't have more than 1 helping!  I live in the Mid County area and mostly keep in shape by working out at home (tae bo, and push ups, situps , etc).  Although, I haven't done this in a long time!  I also have a dog so that helps keep me active until the weather gets really bad (like now-haha)!

Well, good luck to everyone on here!  I hope being a part of this group can help all of us, especially during the dreaded holidays!  :)

Hello everyone my name is Lindsey and I joined CC because I was thinking of buying the Body Bugg that they use on the Biggest Loser to keep track of the calories I burn and then the diet program where you enter the calories you have eaten for the day.  Since the product is 249 dollars and then 15 dollars a month for the website I thought maybe I'll look around and see if there are any free services since I'm trying to pay off debt :)  I already like this site and have only been on for 20 mins lol.

I've been dieting since I was young, when I turned 16 I lost 60 lbs by taking a diet drug called Chinse Fen Chi it worked wonders but had Ephedra, I kept it off for 2 years and when I met my boyfriend who is now my husband I gained all the weight I'm not blaming him but you know how relationships go- you go out to eat all the time and then the next thing you know you wake up and have gained all the weight back plus some.  I have been struggling with weight since 2003 and say every year I'm going to lose the weight but never do and always gain.

I am 25 years old- been married for a year and have a dog named Ryley (boxer) and a cat named Rufus (tabby) I own my house and work for an insurance company but am trying to get into Human Resources- hard w/o any experience.  I have joined a gym and workout with my husband 3-4 times a week.

1. History with weight loss: I have been unhappy with my weight for years. When I started High School I ran Cross Country so I never really worried about my weight, but then I got a job towards the end and quit running to make some money. Unfortunately I worked at a restaurant and ate all the time. I got to college and gained about 30 pounds and am still trying to get it all off, but now I only have around 10 pounds to lose!

2. History with Calorie Count: I joined my freshman year of college (2006) to use the weight tracker and look up nutritional information but never used any boards or read up on anything, so I ate around 800 calories a day, which helped me lose about 5 or 6 pounds, but then I gained it back. I rejoined (new name) this past Summer to actually use the thing, but mostly because looking at my old weight log made me sad. :P

3. Reason for joining this group: I go to SIUE which isn't actually St. Louis but pretty close, and I want to move to St. Louis next Christmas and go to Washington University for graduate school the following Fall.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm 20 years old and a senior at SIUE, I am a psychology major and and English minor, and I want to go to graduate school to specialize in PDDs and cognition. I currently do ABA therapy for a child with autism. It's pretty cool. :) I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and have to say I can see myself with him for a long time. I have a cat named Solomon, who lives with my parents, but I plan to get him as soon as I move off campus because I miss him. :( I am an only child...sort of. My dad has kids that are way older than me and never lived with us so it's hard to say what exactly I am. Right now I am just going to school, working, and trying to have a social life. :)

Hi everyone!  I am excited to see that we have a St. Louis group on here now!!!  My name is Erica I am a 27 year old mother of a three year old.  I hadn't struggled with my weight until after I had my daughter.  I always weighed around 145-150 with an athletic build, muscular.  I worked out quite often and even managed to run a half marathon in 2003 and 2004.  I gained 35lbs when i had my daughter and lost it pretty quickly while breastfeeding but managed to gain it all back a year later.  In March of 2008 I weighed my highest at 178lbs.  I joined CC and started eating healthier and working out several times a week and lost 25lbs.  I fell off the bandwagon a little and gained 5lbs back and am now working to get down to 145lbs.  Currently I weigh 158lbs.

I live in south St. Louis city and enjoy visiting Forest Park when it's nice out.  I work at a local hospital in the Emergency Room and am on the waiting list for the nursing program at Forest Park.  I live with my boyfriend of 5 years and have one cat named whinston.

Hello everyone- my name is Julie I am 24. Currently I am attempting to complete P90X- I really just want to firm up and slim down! I currently weight 155 and hope to lose atleast 15lbs. I have always had a bigger body structure than others so don't want to lose a lot just enough to have a nice waist line- more than that I might look sickly! I joined CC to help me maintain a healthy eating habit and to stay on track. Good luck to all:)

My name is Megan and iam 43 years old.  I live in Illinois, but only a few minutes from St. Louis.  I am hoping to find some support and ideas from this group to help keep me going in the right direction.  I weighed 256.5 in October.  I lost 10 pounds in November and set a goal to keep those off for the holidays - I reached that goal & did not gain an ounce.  So on 12/28, I started again and have lost 18.5 pounds since then.  I am thrilled to be able to fit into my fat clothes again and actually have room in some of them!

1. History with weight loss:  I am a dieter for as long as I remember.  I was alwasy the chunky kid that got picked last.  My self-esteem was not very good as a child and this contributed to an eating disorder in my teens.  I lost a ton of weight and needed assistance to gain my weight and keep a healthy attitude.  Then I got married and had 4 children.  I gained a ton of weight with each one and became a compulsive eater.  I am very bothered by the way I look and the way I feel.  I have avoided dieting in fear that the previous eating disorder may re-evolve.  I am now on a doctor monitored diet and have been using CC as a tool for my own accountability.
2. History with Calorie Count: I have never used CC before - I am enjoying all of the features that I can use.  It really helps to find others who share the struggle and keep motivated. I love the accountability it lends to my efforts.
3. Reason for joining this group: I need to have a way to keep track of what I eat and of the exercise I do.  My doctor reviews my food and activity journal to help me stay on the right path.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I work in a school by day and I homeschool my two youngest children (10 & 13) by night.  I am very busy and have relied on quick meals and convenience foods for many years.  If it comes out of a box - I have cooked it, but THAT is not home-cooking.  I enjoy camping, rafting, scrapbooking & crafts, family get togethers, and massages (who wouldn't???). I have been married for 20 years and we have 4 children.  Our oldest just opened a dance studio and we are very involved in that with her.  Our next child is a senior and we are also very busy getting him ready for his college years.

Well, I don't know if im doing this right but Im 49 years old.  I quit smoking 31 weeks ago and started gaining weight.  I decided this is not how I want to look so I made up my mind to change it.  My oldest son is a distance runner and has been since junior high school he is now 28 yrs old.  When I was his age I taught aerobics 2 times a day,  I stopped doing them when I remarried and did nothing to preserve my body.

Now I have a grandson who is three.  I was coughing really bad  now I rarely cough.  When I was young I wieghed 105 soaking wet.  I climbed to 155 as of 12/25/09  I started my diet on 1/1/09 after not exercising for  umpteen aount of years I got on ebay  and purchased several dvd's for aerobics and pilates and etc,,,,  to date by watching this calorie thing and doing aerobics daily I have managed to lose 9.50 pounds.  I feel better already about myself.  I have seen many mistakes I have made with the calorie counting but it seems to be working for me.  Any pointers would be great.  I might add that I am a beer drinker (Iknow I know big no no)  But Hey I gave up the smokes, I bad habit at a time.  I do drink light beer and have found a 64 calorie oper beer beer that I have been drinking. and I have managed to keep my calorie under 1250 per day.  I do slim fast in  the morning  a salad for lunch or a lean cusine and maybe a can of tuna or low cal soup for supper. I do take viatimins also   I am 5' tall. I work in the insurance business and have for 27 years.  I love the outdoors, crocheting and hanging out with friends

Hi all, I'm Erica and I'm completely new to this. I've never really dieted or watched my calories before. I lost my job a few months ago (like so many others out there) and as a result of not moving so much and being depressed I've put on some weight. I've been slender all my life so putting on weight has really made me feel just terrible about myself. Since the job hunt is not giving me any results I have a lot of free time on my hands, and decided that I should do something to get myself back into a healthier lifestyle. I'm currently 152lbs and my goal weight is 130lbs. I'm joining this group because I know that it will be hard to learn to eat better and that the best way to keep up with it will be to talk with other who are going through the same thing. I've also got a dog that loves to go for long walks and jogs, so that helps too

Hi guys,

I am a Kirkwoodian (lol) relatively new mom (she is 14mo) and I am tired of the "carrying extra baby weight" excuse. This is the heaviest I have been in my life and I was VERY fit and active prior to pregnancy. I never focused on food but worked out a lot. Now it is hard to find the time to exercise and even harder to not eat my daughter's left over food.

I am new to Calorie Count but I am looking forward to sticking with this commitment.

Let me know if anyone is in my area for workout buddies!

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this group, and please if you would like to hear more about me take a peek at my profile! I recently started a new thing with my journal. I am obviously recording all my foods. But I want to share that with everyone so we can all get daily meal ideas and tips. Also looking for Friday weigh-in-ers (LOL) and buddies…. Hope to hear from you all soon!!!!
