Howdy!
My name is Jennifer and I just joined the site yesterday. I live and work by the Plaza.
1. Weight History-I had always been at a healthy weight growing up, but started putting on the pounds after I graduated from high school. My activity level dropped and I managed to put on 60 pounds in about 6 months. I joined WW in 2002 at 205 and dropped almost 20 pounds. I moved half way across the country and got a divorce all in the course of 2 months and over the next year and half I gained that 20 back plus some. Last spring I rejoined WW at 218 and lost 20 pounds, but then in December 2008, like so may people, quit going because I thought I could do it on my own.
2. Calorie Count History-I came across the website quite by accident yesterday when I googled the calorie count for chicken. After looking around the website I realized that this was the answer to my weight loss problems. I love how easy it is to track your calories and what you eat. I am also thrilled for the 12 week workout program. I hate exercising because I never know what I need to do once I get to the gym. This will help me stick to a work out schedule.
3. I joined this group because I live in KC and it'd be nice to meet some new people. I've lived here for 6 years and other than my husband and people at work I have few good friends.
4. I'm not sure that there's much interesting about me really :). I am happily married, for almost a year. I have a 13 year old dog that acts like a 6 month old puppy. I love the Royals even though they suck, and cannot wait for college football season to start.
Hi my name is Germany, I moved to kansas city from texas when i came home from iraq. I moved here because this is where my wife is from and she has not only our two kids but two kids from a previous marriage who go back and forth between her and their dad. I served five years in the army . I was in operation iraqi freedom for a year. My story on weightloss is basically ,i have never had a problem with my weight but after I came home and got married , i became a stay at home dad to a newborn and 3 year old and after doing this for a year and a half , I went from a muscler 210 pounds to 250 and now i am on a journey to get back to my original active self and drop this weight.
Germany86, First of all, welcome to Calorie Count! It has helped me lose almost 30 lbs so far, so it does work! Secondly, thank you for your service to our country and all the sacrifices I'm sure you made! I imagine you're very glad to be home with your family. Hopefully you will find this site useful- there are lots of great tools on here to help you with your weight loss! I try and work out 3-4 times a week and keep my calories between 1200- 1400- not always an easy thing to do! I love to eat as much as the next person! I have learned to make healthier choices though and I can still eat what I want as long as I account for it- that way I don't feel deprived! Good luck with your weight-loss journey and don't hesitate to ask for advice on here- there are lots of knowledgeable people here! Dea
1. I've lost 70 lbs since my senior year in highschool officially 4 years on the weight loss mission. I need to lose 20 more by the end of the year to try out for our kcpd. I believe I can do it.
2. I have always counted calories and was joyed to find out that there was actually a website that would do it for me.
3. I live in and love kansas city.
4. I am in my senior year of college finally finishing up a double major of criminology and sociology. I live with a small cat. I loove to bike (that's mainly how I lost 70 lbs) and working out is how I work out my stress.
hello,
I am at the heaviest weight I have ever been (190lbs). I got up to 180lb and then lost it (down to 150lb) and then gained it back plus some over the course of the last 5 years.
I joined calorie count so that I can track my intake and calorie burn. I think I trick myself into believing I eat less than I really do.
I joined this group to get motivated, and hopefully inspire others on this important and difficult journey.
I am married. No children. I have a desk job.
i've always struggled with body image and control (eating & exercising, too much or not enough). i've been on the other end of the spectrum and am a recovering orthorexic. i joined cc a while back, but would really enjoy connecting with people and would love to meet up!
cc is a good way for me to keep up w/ good info and new exercises. i love to run/walk with my 2 canines, but struggle to keep up with my strength training.
im at a place where i'm finding balance and want to maintain it! i want to just be healthy and not obsess about my food & calories & body.
i live in kcmo on the edge of raytown, near blue ridge blvd. i'm 27, married, no kids and work at a church. i love to clean/organize and help people! i'm always up for a nice walk/jog with someone!!
