Hi Everyone,
&nb sp; Tired of yo-yo weight loss/gain situation. Want to get it right this time.
Need to get and perhaps lend support to others. Any replies would be welcome. I'm a retired 67 year old male wanting to get down to 200lbs from current weight of 250lbs.
I've always had a problem with my weight, thankfully it isn't too bad, but it's just not healthy. I'm looking to be healthy for the first time in my life.
I found this site randomly looking on the internet for a calorie counter.
I joined this group to find and lend support to those in my area.
Interesting facts about me... Well, I'm 18 years old and married to a United States Marine. I haven't seen him since January, but he should be home in two months. I don't have any kids, but I do have two furbabies. They're both cats, Edward and Max. Edward is my kitty and Max is my husband's. Ummm... other than that, I don't think I have any interesting facts...
Hi everyone. I've already taken off 35 pounds on my own and need help with the rest of it. I've got 2 kids, tons of pets, and am 38 years old. I'm really not too converned with the rest of the weight I need to get off, I just want to get healthier.
Hey all,
I'm a 25 year old mom of 1 trying to lose weight to A) become healthier and B) join the ranks of the law enforcement elite. :-P I have a civilian position within the law enforcement community but I'm looking to get certified which means going through the academy and enduring rigorous exercise. I've been working on it since Dec '07 and I think I've come pretty far!
I joined because I would really like to talk with some Tampa area CC'ers. I think this is great! :)
Thought I'd say helllooooo....
1. History with weight loss: As an adult, I've pretty much had to struggle to maintain a good weight. Once lost all the weight on Atkins (it was great) but gained it all back and then some. Trying to do it the healthy way.
2. History with Calorie Count: Been on site off and on for a while. Really like being able to see exactly what I'm eating.
3. Reason for joining this group: I've actually never done this before. I'm not a big message poster but I figured why not connect with people in your local area for support?
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm 31 in advertising, married to a wonderful man who is a chef - that's half my battle with food right there, I can never resist his cooking! No kids or pets yet but we're considering both in the near future :) Looking to not only lose the weight but just be healthier in general. I enjoy cooking, eating, reading, spending time with my friends and family.
Good luck to everyone!
I have always been "conscious" of my weight. I am not really overweight and if you looked at me you would guess I was fine. However, over the last 3 months I have gained 3 lbs of fat. I spoke with a trainer at the gym last night about why I am gaining weight even though i exercise regularly. Believe it or not, I am not eating enough! So here I go stepping outside my comfort level to eat more which my brain has been trained to think as "bad" over the last 15 years.
I have been on Calorie Count for years! I love it and recommend it to everyone I know.
I am looking for people who have similar goals of becoming the best me I can be. I know it soulnd cheesy but I feel we have been mentally trained to think we have to look like Hollywood to be happy. I am 32, I know I will never have a 20 year-old body again, so I will work with what I have :)
I work from home for an Internet Sales Training company so unfortunately, I sit all day. I do go to the gym and run pretty much every day. I have an awesome dog who is my best bud. Never married and no children. Love to cook, read and hang with friends and family.
Be happy and healthy!
Hello all, my name is Steve and I am 30 years old. For years I was on again, off again with dieting, riding my bike here and there, but I didn't do anything serious for any length of time. A month after I turned 30, in April, I stumbled upon this site by chance. I started out at 286 pounds and I'm currently stuck at 255 pounds. There's been times I've strayed from my diet, but my problem has been more along the lines of eating the wrong foods. I'm going back to basics now, back to what took off 30 pounds between mid-April and the second week of August. I simply got sick of being overweight, got sick of feeling sluggish all the time, and just wanted to maintain my health. I work full time, work on Saturdays most of the time, and am going to HCC two nights a week. Fortunately, I like what I do for a living, though it has its peaks and valleys like anything else. I live with my girlfriend and have one cat. In my spare time, I like to play hockey, bicycle, and I like to do saltwater fishing. My goal weight is 175 and I'm on pace to achieve that in March of 2010. I'm doing what I can to beat that number over the head!
Hi. I am a 47 year old female who lives in Tampa. I am a lifetime member of yo-yo dieting and have been losing and gaining the same 20 pounds for more than 10 years. I joined this site hopefully to make myself accountable to myself. I joined this group because I live in Tampa so this group will make me feel like I am not "in this alone." I am a divorced mom with a 14 year old son. We have a dog and three cats.
Hello,
I have always battled weight loss. I have been able to control it with playing sports in high school and being in the Army. Now it's harder ever since I was injured in Afghanistan during a raid on a house. At first I wasn't able to run, but now I have rehabilitated my knee and back enough that I can now run slowly and painful. I have made changes to my eating habits and amped up my weight training to more of a circuit training regiment five times a week and running/walking at least 30-45 minutes. With the injury I surged up to 251 lbs and now I am at 233 lbs so slowly I am trying to get the weight off of me. My goal is to be around 195/200lbs.
I have never used CC before and hope that by tracking my eating habits it will be easier. This has enabled me to visually see that amount of calories Im eating so that I can make the necessary adjustments.
Interesting facts I guess are I have been in the US Army for 5 years. Just recently moved from Ft. Bragg, NC to MacDill AFB. At Ft. Bragg I was in the 82nd Airborne Division and I have been deployed to Afghanistan (OEF VI and VIII) twice. A 13 month and 15 month deployement. I recently returned home so I am getting back in the swing of things.
Hi everyone!
I am a classic yo-yo dieter and I really want to change that. I tried this site awhile ago but now I'm back and hope to stick with it this time.
I'm a high school teacher and have recently started working out again, mainly to deal with the stress. I'm not married nor do I have children, but I am in a semi-serious relationship, which does not help my weight loss goals (fat-laden dinners are the norm)
I enjoy spending time with friends/family, Guinea pigs (I have 2), traveling, and languages (I'm a polyglot)
Best of luck to all!
I have lots of stress right now..My (hubby) Smokey has prostate cancer...He had the Cryotherapy done August 25th..We wont know much till later this month....I have diabetics 2 and my sugar has been all over the place...Our 45th wedding Anniversary was September 25th..I regained most of my lost wieght from being stressed and being put on insulin..We are both 65 years..

Hello, I'm a 53 yo business woman who has joined this group for support and to make a friend or two. I travel about 90% of the time. I try to walk for a short while every day but often that is not happening right now. I eat out every meal, almost always even when home (the 3-4 days/month I make it home). I have been with Calorie Count for about 2 weeks and am enjoying learning to use all the logs. If you have a similar job and have ideas on how to eat more healthfully while on the road, I'd love to hear them. I can almost forget about finding fruit at the airport, it is usually of very poor quality. The salads also tend to be old and out of date. I'm thinking some form of grilled chicken for as many meals as I can stand it. Help me!

1. History with weight loss: Bad! I've always had weight issues, from WAY too skinny in highschool to tipping the scales at almost 200 lbs, at age 24. Yikes! I drop and gain like a hell bent yoyo... I'm just sick of it!
2. History with Calorie Count: New member!
3. Reason for joining this group: Not really sure, thought it sounded like a good idea to connect with some Tampa locals. I'm actually from Brandon/Valrico.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: Hmm.. I have a Chinese Crested Hairless dog.. I got her for free from a couple who was moving when there crested hairless had puppies. She's a full bread, and she is such a slob. But we love her!
Hi everyone! I am a new member on this site. I found it by accident actually, but I'm so glad that I did! I have never really been your typical dieter, I don't like telling myself I can't have that, I shouldn't eat that! Hence my current weight situation. I am a tall girl, so for the most part I hide my weight well, although my clothes no longer fit so I know I have a problem. What I really need here are some friends. I need people who will support me in my goals and who I know understands the way I feel. I can be a great motivater of others but go figure some days I can't motivate myself to get off the couch!! LOL! My real goal is to get healthy and feel satisfied with the way I look and feel.
Im new to CC.. I found it by searching another site. I think its great! Ive never had to diet, but being in my mid 40s I guess my body is changing. Im at 170 and wanting to get to 140. I work alot and dont get home till 630pm,so walking at night is out since I live in the boondocks where there are no sidewalks. I have a rottweiller puppy that keeps me busy. My daughter is off at college so Im not running around with her anymore.
Looking to make friends and get and give support thru this process

I have never really had to watch my weight up until now. I joined the group/website to see if I could start learning to control portion sizes and foods that I eat. It has only been since my third child was born 7 months ago that I have not been able to take off any weight, and I just do not recognize myself in my post baby body.

Hello ![]()
I live in Wesley Chapel, FL I'm 33 yrs old, married and I have a little girl 17 months old. I recently joined Calorie Counter to try to help me see what I'm actually eating thru out my day. I also joined cause I saw there are some other women that are members who have PCOS. Which I have also, my Doctor just recently put me on Metformin 500mg 4 pills at dinner every day. This medicine makes me feel sick to my stomach and also makes you tired. I was wondering if there was anyone who has had luck with this medicine. Any help on what I could do to lessen the sick effect it has on me would be greatful!!
Thanks ![]()

Hi,
I too live in Wesley Chapel, FL. i'm 26 yrs old, married with a 2 yr old. I joined CC (again) mainly to track calories and nutrition ratios since my Wii Fit told me I could stand to lose a few pounds. Really what I need is to get out of my desk at work and exercise more. I mostly enjoy friendly competitive exercising - ie tennis, racquetball etc but I have picked up running recently since my tennis partner moved away and I have not found a replacement. I hate lifting weights - something I'm determined to get over and hope to get another tennis/racquetball partner to really boost my efforts. Anything else just ask.
