Hi, I am Laura, and I live in the Orlando area.

I have been on this site for at least 3 years now and since I found it I have been an addict on and off.  When I started I had about 30 pounds to lose, and I did it... then I lost 10 more for good measure.. then reassessed and lost 20 more.

I started law school and gained 10, had knee surgery and gained 10 more.  ha ha.  So I found my way back to CC. I have lost about 11 of that so I have about 10 - 15 more to lose.  I am 5'2 and want to weigh about 115- 120.

I joined this group because I live in the Orlando area!

I am a 3rd year law student and work.  I live with my fiance and have 2 cats and a dog.  I am a pretty active person and have found that when I don't work out or do something active it affects my attitude.  When not studying or working, I am either at the dog park with puppy face or with friends shopping or just hanging out.

Hi, my name is Karey and I also live in the Orlando area.  I have lived in Orlando for about 9 months and then moved just north of Orlando and have lived here for a few years.  I'm originally from Wisconsin.  I'm 27 years old and married with a cat and a dog.  As you may have guessed from my screen name, I am a professional dog groomer.  I work at an upscale boarding/daycare/grooming facility, and I love my work.  Working with dogs also keeps me pretty active, which definitely is an advantage.

I joined cc on February 17, 2008 and have since lost 43 pounds.  I started out weighing about 182 pounds and am now at 139, aiming for 135.  I'm 5'7" with a medium build and I usually enjoying working out daily, if possible.  I'm currently doing the Couch to 5k Program (on week 3) and work out with my Wii Fit just about every day for an hour or so.  :D

Hi everyone! My name is Libby, I live in the Oviedo/Winter Park area. I'm getting married in mid December. Since graduating highschool 4 years ago (I'm 23 now), I have gained about 30lbs. I suppose I did the freshman 15 a couple of times over...Anyway, my goal is to get down to about 120, but I'm not entirely sure that's realistic. I have a problem with sticking to a "diet" and frequently end up eating poorly out of convenience, laziness, or emotional comfort. I'm a full-time student at UCF in the College of Education, and I'll be starting my Internships next Spring. I'm hoping that I can reclaim some of my self-image and energy by doing an about-face with my eating habits (horrible junk food eating habits).

What I'm really looking for is support from this. Someone to help me keep myself in check, and to talk me through it if I need someone's opinion or an e-shoulder to cry on I suppose. If someone from the Orlando area were to want a partner for exercising outside of this...I'd definitely be willing. I DO NOT exercise right now, and with school it's a little hard to make new friends (you'd think it'd be the opposite), and to make my schedule mesh with someone else. I'm hoping that a friend of mine will be available to start walking with me and my 2 dogs on some of the trails relatively soon, and hopefully for at least 3 days a week. Going from zero exercise to a lot is something I know that I would quit immediately, since I HATE exercising....but I need to make a lifestyle change and insure that my internal organs are not getting gucked up with tartar and fat. Just because I'm young doesn't mean that I can't have a heart problem.

I guess what I'm saying is that losing weight is an uphill battle, and I've never really done an actual diet per se...so having support and advice from anyone who has done it would be wonderful.

:)

Hi Libby!  Nice to meet you *extends hand*!  Congratulations on getting married in December!  I wish I had found something like this before I got married... when I got married 5 years ago, I was around 200 lbs (yikes).  I'm in the Deltona/Sanford area... not sure how far Oviedo is.  Might be a bit far for a workout buddy, but I'll be your e-buddy if you want.  Feel free to message me anytime.  I know what you mean about it being hard to make friends... I only seem to make friends at work so far, but that's kind of different.  What kind of dogs do you have??  I love dogs!  :D

Well I've got two! I have a Cairn Terrier that I guess you could say is a step-dog? Not sure how that works, lol. His name is Stanley (for the Stanley cup. The fiance is a total sports/hockey fanatic). And I have a Scottish Terrier puppy that we adopted together named MacDuff, who we call Duffy. I also have two crazy guinea pigs who crack me up, but I think that's more of me being a dork. Oh, and Oviedo is probably around...20 minutes? It's south of Sanford. Northeast of Orlando. Hopefully my friend will be available and my poor puppies can get out of the apartment and get some exercise! I see you have a German Shepard, what's your dog's name? What kind of work do you do? And thanks for the congrats! Laughing Hopefully this will work for me and I won't poop out and decide it's too much bother. I'm just a little lazy....obviously haha.

Hey uberlibby... I went to UCF too!  Now I am at Barry Law.  I am also getting married soon.. (May) maybe we could keep each other on track!

Ubberlibby~ I love Carin Terriers, too cute!  Scottie's are also really cute... love the name MacDuff!  I groom (I'm a professional groomer) a scotty named McDuffy, and he is so cute!  Scotties are usually notorious for hating their feet messed with, so be sure to play with your puppy's feet.  :D  Oh, and my dog's name is Mya.  She's just recovering from TPLO knee surgery... tore her ligament and they put a metal plate and screws in to stabilize the joint.  Wish she could run with me, but as of now she's just getting into slow walks again.  :P

Hi, my name is Shannon and I live in Apopka.  I work in Technology so I spend most of the day sitting on my booty.  That combined with getting older and travelling a lot for business and of course the emotional baggage helped me to go from an average size lady (full figured, but not fat) to overweight in the course of about a year or so.  Last July (2007) I finally had enough and got my act together and managed to go from 187 lbs to 127 lbs.  I also quit smoking and became more active.  I have been smoke free for 6 months now and I have maintained my current weight of 132 for about that same time.  I would ultimately like to be closer to 125 lbs and continue to firm up my body, but I am very very happy with the new me.  I am a big supporter of CC.  I never could have done this without the support of other members and all of the tools on this site.  I kept a faithful food and activity journal for the first year or so.  Over the past months or 2 I have stepped back from journaling to try to do it on my own.  I am doing well, but I still use CC for advice and support.  I would love to find people in my area to bike with.  I am doing 15 miles on Saturdays and Sundays, but I would love to find someone to ride with on those days as well as during the week.  I am a major amateur at it, but I love the way it makes me feel. Other details about me:  I am 37 years old. I am married to the most amazing man in the universe and we have been married for 15 years. I have 2 daughters, ages 14 and 10.  I love doing anything outdoors.  I do not like spending my free time inside.  I am a techie for a living, but I am very anti-technology.  I do not like television, computers or video games.  Instead I love to read, play board games with my family, hang out and BS with friends, go to the beach and relax, bike, hike, laugh and love.   That is me in a nutshell Laughing

Hi my name is Audra and I am 32. I live on the Space Coast. I am an Executive Recruiter / headhunter - my duties are much like a telemarketer - I am chained to my computer and my phone for 8+ hours a day. ABSOLUTELY LOVE my job but it burns very little calories and can be emotionally draining so it is hard to hit the gym after work.

I joined CC in April and that along with the support of a couple of my close friends  I have lost 16# and more than 15 inches! I have just about made going to the gym before work a habit... that I actually enjoy. This is the first time in years that I have actually been successful. I have been on a diet most of my life. It takes me a while to see results so most of the time I quit before I see anything substantial. I have tired every diet known to man. Exercising and counting calories is the only one that I have been able to stick to. I have about 10-15 more pounds to lose before I will be satisfied - even though I would really like to lose 25# more.

I am married to the most amazing man ever. We have been married almost 9 years. I have a great church that I am involved in and great friends. I am learning how to cook and play fantasy football as new hobbies. I am also training to run - that has been slow going since I have been prone to shin splints lately. We have (2) dogs, a hamster and a  bunch of fish. We are hoping to add a baby to that list soon that has been slow going too.

I joined this group to connect with locals who deal with the same challenges as I do. Primarily the heat of Florida!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hello, all

I am Raymond but go by my middle name which is Todd. I am 43 years old (WOW) that sounds old. I am Married and a Detective here in central Florida. Years of swing shifts and take out food have taken there toll on me. But very few doughnuts if your wondering. A good friend of mine told me of CC and he did extremely well on it. So here I am. I have the will power of a 5 year old so it will be tough. I have three dogs, Molly, Abby and Sadie plus two cats Lacy and Perry. Its a zoo but they keep me and my wife busy and sane. I look forward to a hopefully good and rewarding time on CC. Talk to you all soon. Bye the way the picture is a Bengal tiger, Go Cincinnati Bengals.

It is so great to see so many people in Central Florida that are trying to lose!  I am particularly excited that it was really nice this morning... I actually got a bit chilled!  Maybe I can go for a run tomorrow morning!

Hello...

So a friend of mine told me about this site because I have been trying to lose weight seriously since about March. I joined Weight Watchers, and I really like it, but I hit a plateau and I can't seem to get over the hump. I have not lost in 6 weeks. I gained all this weight about 6 years ago now and the thought of walking down the aisle next November looking the way I do bothers me - I'd rather elope! When I started I had about 130 pounds to lose. I have lost only about 30 pounds (27 actually) since some time in March so the average is down to about 5 pounds a month. I'll never make it at this pace- expecially since I have been stuck for over a month. As of last Sunday I joined planet fitness and I have been doing about an hour 4 days a week. This site will hopefully help me to eat the right amount because it looks as though I have not been eating nearly enough especially on work out days! (it was the right amount on weight watchers point-wise - so I don't know why it wasn't enough calorie wise- I don't really care, I just only have until May to lose at least another 70 pounds or I'm just not buying my wedding dress!!

Hello!!

I have a friend that is on CC and she recommended this site to me.  She has been doing great, so I figured if it was helping her, hopefully it would help me too!  I've never been super skinny...usually on the "chubby" side ever since middle school.  I'm hoping to finally reach my healthy goal weight of 115 lbs.  I lack discipline which is the main reason I'm overweight...and I'm really trying to work on it!! : )

Copied from my Bio:

I've been married since Dec. 07 to the BEST guy ever!!  My wedding was by far the happiest day of my life.  BUT, within months I gained about 12 lbs out of nowhere!! <-- that was NOT in my premarital counceling!! Innocent  Then in April I started a new job where I was eating out more often...causing me to gain an additional 4 lbs.  So here I was, in May of 2008, weighing 16 lbs heavier than I did on 12/07.  I'm only 5'3" so 16 lbs shows up like crazy.

And here's the worst part...  I actually gained weight for my wedding!! Yell So my overall goal is to lose 29.9 lbs.  I started calorie counting sometime in May...but I wasn't hard core, as I would often cheat.  Then I was doing better, but still cheated on the weekends causing my weight loss to be extremely slow.  As of October, 2008, I think I'm finally getting my act together...  I have a friend that is also on CC and she is doing great and really inspiring me!!  I even got my husband on here!!  Together, I'm VERY confident that we all can meet our goals!!!  Cool

Hi, I'm Nani and I live in Orlando

I've been on this weight loss roller coaster for 5 years now. My Senior year of high school I gained 40 lbs it took me 2 yrs to get rid of it then 9 months to gain it all back plus 5 lbs. Then I found calorie count and I lost 20 lbs and then gained 35 lbs now I need to lose 70 lbs!! I've been back counting calories for almost 2 weeks and it's been going great. I just hope once I lose the weight it doesn't creep back on plus more!

I joined this group in hopes of finding a new weight loss buddy close to me!

I am a professional make-up artist. I work at a photography studio full time and do freelance work on the side as well. I live with my fiance and enjoy spending time with my closest friends when I have free time.

I'm so glad to see so many people in the Orlando area on here!  =)

This site is wonderful... it has helped me to lose the weight that I never thought I would/could lose - 47+ pounds!!!  So, no matter how much you have to lose, keep at it!  You can do it!!  =D

Joining this group is my next step in my committment to this diet.  I joined CC about two weeks ago.  So far I've lost 3 lbs.  I've done this diet thing several times before.  Lost lots of weight, gone off a diet, gained it back, then started the cycle all over again.  And everytime I'm on the losing track, I always say, "I'm never going to gain this back because it's too hard to take it off."  And everytime I've gained it all back plus some.  I guess I'm sort of an all-or-nothing kind of person.  I'm 5'3" and have about 80 pounds to lose.

I live an extremely busy life.  I'm a school teacher with a part-time job as a marketing coordinator.  My husband and I live with his disabled, home-bound father so we can care for him.  I have three grown children (two of whom have moved back home recently) and two grandchildren who visit weekly.  My busy-ness has distracted my from taking care of myself.  I haven't walked on a regular basis in over a year.  I often find myself going through the drive through for lack of time or preparation to eat anything different.

Thanks to CC I've begun to learn the healthier choices at the drive through.  And with the help of my physician, I have medications that help control my appetite.  (I'm a huge night muncher.)

So far so good.  Let's hope the progress continues.

1. History with weight loss: I have worked at losing and gaining and losing and gaining. So i am a yo yo. As i get older it is much harder to lose with my health issues.  But that has not stopped me from working at it.  I came across this  CC group and thought to myself. Why not try something else. All i have to lose is weight...lol. I have enjoyed working with the calorie counter and its breakdown of the foods.

2. History with Calorie Count: My husband did well with counting calories. So i am going to give it a try.

3. Reason for joining this group: You sound like a joyful group of people. Who have been around the mulberry bush like me:). You might be able to help me focus and work at staying with the program, of changing my lifestyle to the better.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a mother of two handsome boys and 6 beautiful grandchildren. I have been happily married for 41 years. I enjoy meeting with my church friends and lady's around my area. We go out to luncheons, movies, parks, bowling etc. I also enjoy reading when i get the time and using the pool to exercise my knees.
