Hi all, I created this group because I was diagnosed with essential tremors last year.  Some days I really feel all alone because I feel like my body is betraying me and I do not have anyone to talk to about this that has this condition.

My friends do not understand why I drop things, why my voice trembles, why my body shakes off and on at its own whim.  Hell, I don't even understand.

My name is Kim, but on the boards I go by SC or spoiled.

I was an overweight child that thinned out until 1993, when I gained a 100 pounds in three years.

I found c-c when I was googling the caloric info of a muffin for one of my customers.  My life changed that day.  I have lost thirty pounds since June 20 of 2006, the day I started here.  I still have about fifty pounds to go, but the weight is has stalled at 200 pounds.

In the last year I have been through numerous test.  My thyroid has been checked three times, coming back normal every time.  In fact all of my blood work has come back fine.
I am a healthy 43 year old female that shakes and is pre-menopausal.

I love to sew and quilt.  I garden without the help of a green thumb.  I work in a fast paced coffee shop on the midnight shift.  I was a baker in one of the  busiest stores in our area when I was dignosed and made the change to a quieter store by the advice of my doctor to relieve some of the stress in my life.
I love my Wii, it helps me with my balance and I do light yoga.  I use to walk and jog alone, but after a bad fall, I am afraid to go by myself anymore.  I have a mini trampoline that I jog on.

I was living alone before, but now my daughter and four granchildren live with me.  This is good for everyone.  My other daughter lives four blocks away from me.  My family is very important to me and I love the fact that we are close.

Hi kim my name is Nancy. I was diagnosed with essential tremors when I was 12. It started in the hands and by the time I was 25 It was in the head. If I am in a real stressful situation the legs get real shakey. I also am perimenopause. I started at age 39. I'm 45 now. Got a divorce 1 1/2 years ago (my choice) and except for my cat live alone now. I don't go out much because of the tremors. Tried alot of meds but they don't work. There is a surgery where they put pace makers in your brain but you have to be totally awake for the 8 hour surgery and I don't have $100.000. Don't feel bad I am stuck at 207. I crochet. I do have very high cholesterol. I am on social security now. You are blessed to have family around you as I have 2 sons  but never hear from them unless they want something. TYSM for the invite nice to know I'm not alone.

Hello!  I just joined calorie count today.....looks like a great place!  My name is Rox and live in the Tampa Florida area.  I've had weight issues since in was in my teens and now in my early 60's!  And...every day I try again.  My worst problem is eating at night.

My reason for joining this group is foremost essential tremor rules my life.  I've been dealing with it for about 20 years...every year seems to get worse. I can barely write anymore, forget holding a cup to drink and eating is a joke (you'd think I wouldn't have a weight problem since food never stays on my fork!  ha!

I'm married for 42 years, have 2 labs, on SS disability and have bipolar depression which is controlled now.  My goal is to lose about 60 lbs; my high has been 240 and currently weigh 195.

I love inspirational people , learning new ideas and was passionate about crocheting but have given it up (I'll still try though)

Looking forward to meeting everyone.  I haven't even looked around at everything caloriecount offers, so better figure how to post my daily food!

Hi woodstork1 Trust me know exactly how you feel. Welcome to our site and our postLaughing...........Nancy

Hi I have had tremors since I can't remember when. Family doctor told me as a teen it was just a phase I'm going through. Still waiting for the phase to end!

Since the internet became available to my family I have learned about ET. And it was a tremendous relief to know I'm am not the only one.

But anxiety, embarassment, stress and frustration still plague me.

I'm male and not many out there want to come forward with this ailment.

I know a lot of men with ET.  I work the drive thru window and notice that more men then women have tremors.

I am not embarased about it, although it does scare some people when they see me shake.

I find that a lot of people are scared of me, they think that I am going to go into a grand mal seizure.  I changed my work store because my manager didn't understand anything about ET and thought that it was too much trouble to have a 'sick' employee

Those men at the drive thru probably won't admit it if they were asked!

I was teased in grade school which turn me into a introvert and have had a hard time stay out for any length of time from the rock I hide under.

Not many sites/chat rooms that have men join. Don't get me wrong women are the best people to talk to about your feelings but hearing it from the guy side would help tenfold.
