I have always had problems with my weight.  As a child I was overweight and my mother put me on Weight Watchers...it was a great thing.  When I went to college I packed on the Freshman 35...and had a hard time taking it off.  In my mid 20's I realized that I needed to get on some kind of program...and I did take off most of the weight.  I am currently struggling with staying on track.  I would like to take off 20 more lbs.  I am trying the morning workout and the calorie counting.  I also play volleyball twice a week.  But the weekends are my huge problem.  I joined this group for some support.

This is the first time I've ever tried to lose weight.  I've always been content with my body, if not really happy.  Then I went to college last year and gained about ten pounds.  That's all gone now, and I'd still like to lose a few more.  I joined CC at the end of May, and I love it!  It's the first thing that ever made weight loss seem attainable to me.  I joined this group because I fit the description lol...I live about 45 minutes southwest of Cleveland.

Hmm interesting details about me...I'm going to be a sophomore at Northwestern University, and I love it there.  I'm a biology major and I want to go to vet school.  I'm currently working in a vet clinic for the rest of the summer.  We're on quarters, so I still have 3 weeks left.  I have one 7 year old sister.  She's about 35 pounds overweight, and my mom is severely overweight as well.  I really wish I could convince them to get healthier, but I know that they have to decide that for themselves.  I have a quarter horse that I've done 4h with and shown since I was 12, but I'm leasing him now to another girl since I'm in school.  I started running about two months ago to help me lose weight, and now I'm really into that.  Umm yeah that's about it! :)

Since so few are brave enough to pony up:

1. History with weight loss: I started about two years ago at 360+ lb(my scale only displayed EE after that). I weened my way down to the 240's and after a while of not being able to lose any more I turned to heavy lifting. My weight slowly fluctuates as my waist gets smaller and I now fit into a mens large shirt where the scale says I should be in a xxl.

2. History with Calorie Count: I joined just over one year ago, made some friends, insulted some people, generally enjoyed myself.

3. Reason for joining this group: To meet some local friends.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: Eh I work at a big steel company and sit on my buttocks keeping computer systems in check. I love and hate it but who doesn't at least hate their job in some way right? I am currently working towards my associates in comp sci and go to school m-th right after work till 8 then go to the gym wandering home around 9:30. Not much time for a life.

I just started trying to lose weight... In early July I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and was told that if I didn't lose some weight, it would get worse. That really gave me the kick I needed to try the diet thing and see where it took me! My first weigh-in happened on the doctor's scale, at 267. From that point on I've been really watching out for myself and have gotten down to 238. I'd love to be in the 170's, but my main goal is getting below 200lbs... I'm 23, and I haven't been under 200 since about 7th grade.

I just joined calorie count, too! I'm a cheese girl, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting too much of my calories and fat just from that!

I joined this group because I figured that you all would know the foodie temptations of Cleveland life!

As for me... I'm 23, from East Cleveland. I work at a grocery store that sells mainly food, which really sucks sometimes! I don't belong to a gym because all of the places around here are super expensive, but I do have an exercise bike at home, and I'm saving up for some weights.

It sounds like you aren't too far from me. Cheese is the devils sauce... and vodka. Both are good... in small amounts. My haunt is fitworks in willoughby.

1. I was a skinny kid growing up, then after getting a cozy desk job out of college, the pounds piled on quick.  I didn't really realize how big I was until I started seeing pics of myself and didn't even believe it was me!  I tried a couple times to exercise and eat better, but they were very random attempts and not structured at all.

2. This is where CC comes in.  I was looking up nutrition info trying to make better choices and educate myself before I went out for lunch at work one day.  I browsed the site, thought it looked interested and figured I'd give it a shot.  I had already gone from about 240 to 209 over the course of a year w/o a REAL plan, so I was motivated to get below 200.  That was the end of May 2007 and today I'm 143, still logging my weight and food intake daily.

3. It's nice to meet other people from the area who actually understand how depressing and miserable NE Ohio can be in the winter!

4. I live in Akron and work as an IS Manager in the Youngstown area.  I'm currently going to UA for my MBA in the evening and starting tomorrow I'm going to take advantage of the rec center that I get into for free with my tuition.  My focus now is reducing body fat and gaining muscle.  In my free time I'm a huge car and motorcycle enthusiast, and for those miserable winters when those are stuck in the garage, I like to watch the Browns and Buckeyes.

Hi everyone!

I have been battling my weight since my early twenties but recently I lost my job and being home for the last couple of months I have added more weight on.  I finally decided enough was enough and joined this site a week ago.

Being from the NE Ohio area I figured this group would understand how I am NOT looking forward to winter!

Hi everyone!

I have always had a weight problem but in the last couple of years I had numerous health problems, then lost my job and have put a lot of weight on. I just joined this site today and fell better already. Just knowing that other people know what I am feeling helps, especially in my home town.

1. History with weight loss: I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I lost quite a bit of weight doing the Atkins diet a couple years back before getting pregnant with my almost 2 year old daughter, Mia. Surprisingly I l gained very little weight (17 pounds total) during my pregnancy, but became horribly lazy about cooking healthy foods and excercising when she was a baby. When she started getting to the age of eating solid foods, I wanted to be a good example to her, and get her started eating healthily from the beginning. The way I see it, my daughter has saved my life. If it wasnt for her, I might never have found the strength to do this for myself.

2. History with Calorie Count: I started on July 23rd, 2008. I first weighed myself on August 8th and weighed in at 272.2 pounds. I am now 261.2 pounds and Ive hit a plateau. Overall from my beginning weight I would estimate about 25-30 pounds, since in the first couple of weeks I dropped a crazy amount of weight really quickly but I didnt weigh myself. I have lost 3 sizes though!

3. Reason for joining this group: Im always interested in talking to new people in my area! The more friends, the better!

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I work in aviation, I live with my boyfriend and my daughter. We have 2 fishtanks, but no pets other than that. I am 27 years old and I cannot wait to get to the point where I am happy in my own skin, I dont think that I have ever truely experienced that!

1.History with weightloss:When I was 15 I was in a serious relationship(we are now married with 4 kids)anyway...I got the Depo shot and put on 40lbs in 9 months, just when I finally started to lose the weight I got pregnant(then I really put on the pounds)lol.I stayed at 173lbs for about 3 years after giving birth,I started doing Tae-Bo,got down to 154lbs then guess what(decided to have another baby)lol, this time only gained the normal 30lbs,after the birth I didn't even wait the whole 6 weeks,I took Diet Fuel(back when it had ephedra)and did Tae-Bo everyday(sometimes twice a day)I was down to 120lbs by his 1st b-day.I had my third baby and was back to 120lbs by the time he was 6 months old but then,I got pregnant with my baby girl and omg,by the time I had her I was 204lbs...I bought almost every workout video I could find and still weighed the same as I did when I came home from the hospital(she was born Feb.8,2007)...

History with CC:I joined CC on May21,2008 weighing 183 it really motivated me to lose weight,I've never counted calories before and had no clue how to even start,within the first 2 months I lost 20lbs,I was 163lbs,but then I don't know what happened I quit coming on here got sick of counting calories and went back up to 170lbs UGH!!!I started back up on CC and within a few days am down to 168lbs,so now I'm joining groups hoping that it keeps me motivated and I've also bumped up my workout routine.My goal is 125lbs as quick as I can get there...      & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;

Reason for joining this group:For motivation.

Nothing too interesting lol but I'm a stay at home mom,I have 3 boys and 1 girl,we have 2 girl dogs,we live near Cleveland and were born and raised there,I will go to school ( when my baby's a little older, maybe in school herself)to get a masters degree in psycology(unless I change my mind again, but I will go for something)lol...I like to have fun and be goofy with my family and friends,I love to bake and I'm actually pretty good at decorating cakes(Ilove it!)lol well thats about it.Sorry if it's too long,I've had alot of coffee today...lol Hope to hear from u soon...Bye for now!

Hey all. I'm new to this site after experiencing too many issues with Livestrong.com. I actually enjoy this set-up better and have a really great feeling with this!

Ever since I was young I've been the chubby one. The funny fat friend that everyone likes but acknowledges that he's just there for the laughs and catchy side-comments, you know? So it's my die-hard goal to NOT be the fat side-kick anymore and I've been working hard at it! Since June I've lost upwards 40 lbs, starting off at 210 and working my way down to 175 or so. I'm very proud but still not where I want to be (even though everyone around me says I shouldn't strive to lose anymore... I suppose it all falls back on the saying "You're your own worst critic!"). I have a lot of toning to do and still a bit of pudge around my mid-section that, of course, refuses to go away.

My one intense weakness is processed sugars/candies. We have a never-ending candy jug at my place of work and I'm in charge of keeping it full and thus keeping my minions content. But when day after day you handle bag after bag of chocolates and sweets it's damn near IMPOSSIBLE to not over-load on them yourself. There's days I eat well over 1,000 calories of just candies... and it's a trend I NEED to break! So yes... goals... setting goals here... one of many...

Aside from my whole weight situation, I'll give you the basics. 22 year old male located in Rocky River. I've had my place there since I turned 18, right after I lost my mother to cancer. I must say that my transition from child to adult was VERY drastic for so I feel that, all in all, I'm far more level-headed then most young adults my age. I have a good job (that does the trick for now), a nice living situation, and all in all I'm a pretty happy guy. I'm also pretty damn social so if you're looking for a fun time on a Friday night let me know! I am also rather involved with the independent film scene around here so if theres anyone who shares a passion for film/theater inform me... I'm sure we'll find plenty to chat about!

Hello All!  Here's the 1,2,3 and 4 on me:

History with weight loss: My life. Skinny kid, fat teen, skinny 20's and alternate fat and normal since...I'm 48. I eat when I'm happy, when I'm sad, when I'm stressed...I love, especially carbs.

History with Calorie Count: I joined about 2 years ago and stayed with it for about 4 months and it really helped. Kept me aware of what I was & was not doing. Then I decided I did not want to be accountable (to myself) and off I went. Did the same thing with WW last year...I run in crazy patterns.

Reason for joining this group: At risk for diabetes and also I am just plain sick of losing and gaining the same 20 lbs over and over. CC puts my goal at 123, but I'd like to be 135...which means I need to lose over 50 lbs. I need  accountability, so here I am.  I often get inspired by others, so I'm giving it another try.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a single mom to a 7 year old, and I work full time as a Customer Service guru for an inernational coatings company. I went back to school 2 years ago, for a business degree...can't move forward without it. I am interested in travel & culture, music (all types), literature, theatre and all the quirky things in life. I live in the Westpark area and I'm always up for meeting new people!

History With Weight Loss:  Typically for me, once my body finds a weight it typically stays there...which is great when it is a weight I don't hate...but after having my 2nd daughter, the extra 20 lbs STAYED.  In the last 3 months or so I finally lost the 20 lbs, but would love to continue to lose another 5-15 or so and to tone up.  Most importantly, I want to at least maintain my current weight.

History w/ Calorie Count:  I found this site almost a year ago and fell in LOVE.  Recently I was turned on to Sparkpeole.com, which I love, too, but the tools for calorie and exercise logging just don't compare.  (It is a great community site, though!)  So, needless to say, I'm back to CalorieCount & looking to make the most of it this time.

Reason for Joining This Group:  As I stated above, when I first joined CalorieCount I didn't make the most of the site.  I strictly counted calories and logged fitness (if there was fitness).  This time I wanted to join a group, particularly a group I have something in common with, and make the most of CalorieCount this time around.

Me: I am 28, married, and have 2 beautiful daughters who are 2 & 4.  I work in the corporate world, but my husband is a personal trainer (talk about pressure!!!)...

Hi everyone! My weight has been up and down since about 3rd grade. I gained 30lbs over 2 1/2 years (yay stress and new boyfriend!) and topped out around 194lbs. I watched my sister lose 50lbs over the past year and realized, what am I waiting for? So now I'm down to 175lbs just by trying to be more active and east less Dairy Queen. My goal is to get to 155lbs but as long as I'm toned and healthy I'll be pretty happy.

I've used CC of and on for awhile but have never taken advantage of the community.

I moved to Cleveland from SoCal last March so I'm really looking to make some new friends. I'm about 30 mins West of Cleveland. This will be my first Winter so if anyone wants to play in the snow or find things to do let me know! I would really like to get involved in some friendly competitive sports :)

I'm 26 and live with my boyfriend and our two dogs. I work as a photographer and am IN LOVE with the Metroparks!

Hi my name is Niki, I live on the east side. I have a 3 year old a 2 year old and a 5 month old so I have a lot of extra baby weight. I need to loose about a 100 lbs to get down to pre pregnacy wieght and i hope to do it with in a year. I'm a stay at home mom so a lot of the time I eat out of boardum.

Hi my name is Barb, I don't live in Cleveland but was born 30 miles east of there. Want to come back. Would like to know if anyone is from Mentor or thereabouts.

I have two felines. Previously, my best companions were my dogs, several of which I rescued and found better homes for, a few I kept.

I like to read, exercise and volunteer to help others. Right now I'm volunteering at a local hospital in hopes of getting on with them eventually as a paid employee.

I have 5 children. Which has made maintaining my weight difficult because I love making deserts for them. Recently, they came back home for a time. Now thankfully, they're back out on their own and doing well. That means that I have to work hard to get rid of the weight I gained as I ate ice cream or cake while they were here.

I like this program because it makes you want to record your stats at the end of the day. I have always been called fatty growing up but in actuality I was only somewhat overweight. It's hard to get those last few pounds off. But now it's not those last few pounds. It's more like  40lb. My time to reach my goal weight is June.

I'd like to know if anyone is familiar with Mentor or the surrounding towns. I'd like to know what kind of changes they see, i.e., up to date food stores, Traders, Whole Foods, Peets Coffee, good ethnic food. Just curious, like I say, I'd like to move back and live where my family is buried and I have a special aunt and  a few cousins.

Hello, My name is Sara.  I'm new to this site, but it is a wonderful tool.  I have been a member of Weightwatchers on and off for 10 years and this site is very similar to the E-Tools website that they offer.  I'm currently trying to loose some weight on my own so I joined this site.

I've been heavy my entire life.  I am 28 years old, 6'tall, healthy, happy and able to carry my weight now, but If know if I don't change my lifestyle as I get older my wieght will only cause me problems.  I have taken it off about 10 years ago and since then gained it all back and some. I am ready for a change.

My dad was a large man too. He was 6'7 and over 400lbs, he too carried it well until a few years ago. He developed conjunctive heart failure. Was slowly not able to participate in any sports as he used to (basketball referee, umpire, softball, golf, bowling, etc) and eventually his health problems and weight immobilized him.   My dad just died of a stroke in September and I don't want to follow him down that same path. I want to have kids, be active and healthy.

I know this website is going to assist me in my weight loss. I used to hate tracking everything (bringing my food log everywhere.) Now I can log while I'm at work, quickly and conviently, meet people who are going through the same things I am, and have the support I need at my fingertips.

I'm doing this for me, but also for my dad.... I love you dad!

been overweight since childhood. an emotional eater.  i quit smoking when i got pregnant and after the baby really started put on more weight. food became my addiction. i am back at the gym again trying to get a routine. i lost 40 pounds last year and gained 15 over the last 4 monmths! ouch.. this site really worked for me, but i got sick of doing it and stopped.  i am trying to get back into recording my food and counting calories because i know it works. gonna try to keep it up and need all the support i can get!!   kerri

Hello. I am fairly new to this site and live in Parma. My sister recommended this site for calorie counting and advice....

History with weight loss: Forever... up and down and pregnancy-totally destroyed my body... after my last child, I am down 78 pounds to around 168 but still want to lose more. I workout 6 times a week and have been on a plateau since October until I started eating clean... seems to be coming off, slowly though again.

Why I joined: Support, logging in calories, making sure I eat enough with working out and I still don't really get that.. was wating 1200/day and exercising hard and stayed the same... now increased calories and doing interval training. Also, 5-6 small meals per day... eating fresh is expensive.

Interests: Politics.. and like many right now:finding a job... I passed the bar exam in May 2008 and still cannot find work other than PRN cases here and there and pro bono.....

When I was younger (High School) I was very active in sports, but when I hit college my life became more sedimentary.  Now I am a stay at home mom with two little boys (2yr old ,3mth old.)  I was my heaviest right before I became pregnant with my 1st and they lbs. just keep coming.  I used CC after my first child was born and now I am back trying to lose the baby weight along with the weight that has been there for awhile once again.

My Husband and I are doing this together, and if we weren't I don't think it would work, for us at least.  I try to work out at least 30min everyday but if I can get more time in then woohoo.

Live in Medina, love the rec center here! also I love to travel, try new resturants, cook, play board games, volleyball, soccer, I do like sports in general I am just not very good at all of them.  Most of all the best thing is spending time with my family.

Well that's me
