Hi, my name's Nicole and I have just started using Calorie Count to try to get in the best shape possible before my husband and I start trying to have a baby. I am less interested in losing weight (but it would be nice) and more interested in feeling more in control with what I eat. I have a problem with portion control and have a serious sweet tooth. So far, Calorie Count has been really great. I love the different logs and how you can analyze everything to track your progress.

I hope more local people join the group. It would be nice to meet new people from the area.

Hi, my name is Dannielle. I started using calorie count a few months ago when I had yearly check-up and my cholesterol was a bit to high. I'm a mom of a wonderful 1 year old little boy. I also work full time at a local hospital and go to school part-time. I'm majoring in Nursing. I am learning about portion control and staying away from the fast food places. Fat and full of fat.

Hi Dannielle! Welcome to the group. So far I think it's just the two of us to post. I've just become the assistant moderator and have been using Calorie Count for a short time but love the site.

I hope you are weathering Fay! It's making it very hard to get out and exercise :)

started at 213 and down to 184 now since april 14th.  gained a ton of weight when my wife got pregnant 2 yrs ago. i'm 6'3" so back down from 38 to 34 waist!! still got some belly fat to lose. while in june i broke my heel so it's been hard doing any type of excerise.  so broke down a few weeks ago but amazingly didn't really gain any weight except 3lbs - 187. but decided to get back on track and start using again. goal is to get down to 175 before i get off my crutches and then start building muscle back to get to 190.

Hi. My name is Peri. I stumbled onto Calorie Count 4 days ago and I am addicted! I was 113 lbs before my first child and retained 20 lbs after delivery. Slowly, over the last 22 years and after a second child, I topped out at 207 lbs. That was my breaking point....3 weeks ago. I began cutting things out of my diet, including sweets, carbonated beverages and fast food. I included more fruits and vegetables and drank only water. In 2 weeks I had lost 7 lbs. One day I was trying to find nutritional information on Ritz crackers and found Calorie Count. I am now steadily losing a pound a day and I am so encouraged that I really think this will be a lifestyle change and not just a diet. So far I have lost a total of 14 lbs.

Hopefully, we can support each other and be successful together. Thanks for listening.

Hello, my name is Marie and I was reading in a parent magazine and decided to try it. I am currently trying to lose weight after my first son whom is going to be 4 months in a week. I have lost weight before about 65 pounds and soon after I lost the weight I got pregnant and picked the weight back but no all of the 65 pounds. So i'm giving this a try, it is a nice website. Its going to take a little to get use to but I am very much pleased!

Hi, I'm Laurie and I have been using this site off and on for a while now.  This is the BEST site...I love the analyzer that helps you analyze your daily diet.  I have decided that my addiction in this life is food.  My Mother used to tell me that I am an emotional eater, however I didn't believe her.   I just thought I had some bad habits.  But now I realize that I am an addict and wonder if anyone else feels this way.  I do live in Jax, in the Argyle Forest area and am looking to meet some other friends in this area.  Can email me at l_mozo@yahoo.com.  I hope we can all help each other.

Laurie

Hi, all!

I'm a Jacksonvillian, born on NAS Jax and lived here most of my life.  I currently live in St. Johns.

I'm at a maintenance weight after losing the pounds I carried for 5 years after baby #1.

I have 2 daughters (5 and 19 months).  I have been married for 8.5 years.  I have one dog.  I work full time in the real estate/finance industry and I'm in school part time working toward becoming a CPA.  I'm looking at setting up an apiary and becoming a hobby beekeeper early next year.

Hi, I'm Jessica, I'm 19, and a friend just introduced me to this site. I hope to start using it as frequently as I use myspace or email. :p

At my skinniest, I was 123lbs (due in part to an ADD medication I was taking that made me stop eating), and at my heaviest, I was 203lbs. Right now I'm somewhere in between 160-170lbs. At my skinniest, I felt really good about myself, and I wish to be at least that skinny again.

What I'm really looking for is someone who'll go out and do things with me, attend shows, go shopping, go to clubs, take random trips to the beach or St. Augustine ... because part  of my problem is that I don't do anything besides sit at the computer because of a social anxiety disorder I have. I'm not sure if this is the right place for that, but .. if I find something/someone, so be it!

Sorry for the long introduction! :)

Hello everyone!

1. History with weight loss:  One tiny up after an auto accident from which I had dificulty recovering.  This time I gained during a pregnancy & with the old injuries I'm having a really difficult time.  No pain killers while breastfeeding makes cario darn near insufferable!
2. History with Calorie Count:  Found it about a month ago but have yet to stick with it.
3. Reason for joining this group:  I need some support.  I'm not a practiced dieter & I have an underactive thyroid.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I have a lovely healthy 3 month old boy, a very attractive husband, 2 dogs, & a decent job.  Oh & my mother has moved nearby to drive me nutz by critizing my weight.  Her latest this morning was suggesting I get an herbal wrap on my stomach.

Drop me a line if we have something in common!

I just found this site and thought I would give it a try.  I had gotten down to a good weight and now as I age I find it difficult to maintain a good weight. I live in Fruit Cove and would like some walking partners.

I like this site, it is so easy to use.

Hi everyone,

I'm native to Jacksonville, born & raised in Lake Shore and still living here at 52 because I bought my parents' house.

1. History with weight loss: Struggling with my weight since age 12. I've done WW, Atkins, Zone, Metabolic, you name it and here I am still with more than 100 lbs to lose. I have been leading a "First Place" Bible study for weight loss at my church and have been doing water aerobics 2-3 times per week so I am in a good place right now, having lost approx 30 lbs and not given up this time. The pool is becoming a saving grace for me and helping me become healthier in body and spirit. I remain hopeful.

2. History with Calorie Count: Have played with it off and on for a while. I am back because I know for certain that the only way I am successful is to document everything that goes into my mouth. No guessing or estimating, I have to write it down and track it. That is what works for me so here I am.

3. Reason for joining this group: To give and receive encouragement, tips, ideas and a little accountability.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a candidate for Deacon in the United Methodist Church, hope to be ordained in June having sufficiently jumped through the UM hoops toward that end. I am divorced, have two grown sons who have married lovely women, two grandchildren that I am over the moon crazy about and another on the way. My mother lives with me, she just turned 90. I am passionate about ministry to and for older adults and have a blog for family and other caregivers of older adults at http://feedinmama.blogspot.com. (Hope that doesn't violate the self-promotion rules but caregivers need all the support they can find.)

Hey everyone, my name is Lisa and here is my story:

History with weight loss: at age 14 i was just over 300lbs, by age 17 i was 150 (starved myself) By 21 after marriage and 2 children i was back up to 270...weight fluctuated over the years. Now happily divorced, i've been losing weight the right way and have lost 36lbs so far, 64 to go! The gym is my second home and my kids love it as well, although they are not overweight at all...i LOVE working out and lifting weights...CARDIO, CARDIO, CARDIO is the key and weights have helped me get tone...I am loving the way my body is taking shape.

History with Calorie Count: been a member for about a year now but started taking it seriously since April '08

Reason for joining: I live in Jacksonville

Interesting details: Happily Divorced with two of THE MOST beautiful children in the world and a spoiled miniature schnauzer named Roxy.

Always been heavy, ballooned up after I got a sit on my butt most of the day job with the library (which I love). Started a serious diet on 9/29/08 using this site to help out. So far so good, about 20 pounds down in less than six weeks. Love the site, I have been surprised at how much success I have had thus far. I am 39. Lived here in the 'ville most of my adult life.

1. Well, my weight has always been back and forth.  But after my first child I went from 145-175, went back down to 155 then back up to 175 before becoming pregnant with my second.  During my second pregnancy I ate really healthy and managed to gain about 11 pounds.  After my pregnancy I came out losing weight, down to 158 and that's where I'm at now.

2.  Just started Calorie Count at the suggestion of 'redplatforms' :)  AKA my 'pumping buddy'

3.  My reason for joining is as the mother of two beautiful girls, I never want them to hear me criticize myself but instead be a role model of confidence.

4.  Interesting details is I work for a huge title company, its ok, my family consists of my wonderful husband and two little girls, 3 1/2 and 6 months.  No pets, allergic. :)

Hello, my name is J and I am a 23 year old college student and mother. I am about 5'5" and I weigh 174lbs I am hoping to get my weight down to 130 or 135. I have lived in Jacksonville on and off for many years.

I haven't always been this weight  I gained it after having my child and that was almost 5 years ago. I went from 120lbs to 175lbs after the birth of my wonderful child. When I got pregnant I stopped working out walking pretty much everything some of the reasons were health related. I have been trying to get of off but I was coming up short. Earlier this year I was about 200lbs but I shed 25lbs that was a major blessing for me. I just started using Calorie Count today and so far so good.

I am more determined now than ever. I want to loosed the weight so that I can prevent possible health problems. I miss my hour glass figure and I WANT IT BACK. I want to loose as much as possible as soon and as safe as possible and keep it off.

Hi my name is Colin and I am a recent single dad hoping to lose a little weight and get myself back into the market with a hard ass body! ;) In all honesty I would like to better my diet, lose about 10 lbs, tone, bulk and strengthen up a little. I started running again a couple weeks ago. About 2 miles. 2-3 times a week. So I decided to join the site to read others' stories and possibly find some inspiring motivation. So let's get to it! And maybe to meet some cool new people!

Cheers. Colin

I have had Calorie Counter on my radar for a few months now. But just today decided to try and use it for good in my life. I need to lose weight, but I need to get healthy too, why not kill two birds ya know!

My job is also helping the situation by having it's very own biggest loser competition. If you can get it started in your own place of business it's a great way to have a huge support system with everyone trying to attain the same goal.

Keeping track of the foods I eat on this site is very useful. I made my first list today of my food and it's not good!

My genetic make up leans towards the heavy side. Italian! But if I can be the first woman in my family to take the weight off and maintain it, then that is a goal I'm willing to set!

I hope all of you who have already posted are staying on track and attaining your goals, because that's just more motivation for the rest of us to stick to it!

Hi everyone!!

My name is Christina and I just found this website today and thought I would give it a try. I have been overweight for what seems like a lifetime. I have tried many diets with little results. I recently went through the change and gained a lot of weight.

Today is my first day with Calorie Count. I am hoping it can help me in my weight loss.

I look forward to losing weight and becoming healthy.
