Hi I am Audrey and I had been using calorie counters for awhile. I had a baby boy a month ago and am looking forward to getting back into this. I am currently 210 lbs and want to lose 70 lbs. I am an archaeologist and have a total of three kids. My hubby is a geologist. I really do not know what else to say right now. Good luck to everyone and have a great day!

Audrey

Hello, I'm Nathan.  I've been overweight since around age 11 (23now).  I actually found CC in summer of 2007, losing 20pounds that summer.  Since then I really fell of the wagon, becoming sedentary and adopting my old eating habits.  I'm now around 80pounds overweight at 230lbs.  My overall goal is 155-165lbs.  The reason I joined this group is that I believe weighing in every Saturday is a great idea to keep a nice regular schedule.  I'm also curious to what other people are doing week to week.  I currently have no friends within the CC community so feel free to add me. Cool

Audrey - Welcome to our group.  Congratulations on the birth of your son.  What an interesting career both you and your husband have.

Nathan- I know exactly what you are saying about being sedentary and going back to old habits.  Thanks for joining us!

Hello!  I'm Julie.  I have been slightly overweight since I hit 13 or so.  My father raised me on deep fried southern foods, and it wasn't hard to pack on the pounds.  I joined CC in 2007 and lost 30 pounds.  I took a couple of detours since then, and right when I was getting back on track, I found out that I was pregnant.  Nine months later, I weighed in at my highest.  I was 240 pounds when I gave birth... five weeks later I made it to 200.  I joined this group because I know the support I'm lacking at home could be found here.  Also, weighing in every Saturday will hold me accountable.  :)

Welcome to the group! Yes, those Saturday weigh-ins are a high point in my week.  How often can you say that getting on the scale will be a high point?  Tongue out  But with this group, I know there are other committed people out there going through the same thing.  See you next Saturday!

1. History with weight loss:  at 5'3 inches tall and 265 lbs I had been watching a friend of mine do Prism, and couldn't believe the serenity she was experiencing.  In 1998 I went on it and lost 80 or so lbs and then went off the program.  I continued to lose for a few years, I learned a lot about truthfullness in eating and how much a serving was and how many calories (realistically) I was eating.

I am now in 2009, 3 kids and lots of overeating later I'm back up to 210 lbs :(  and desire to FINALLY get down to my goal weight, not drastically, not radically, but in a God honoring and healthy way.

2. History with Calorie Count: Joined a long time ago (a few years?) and never even used this GREAT site.  Recently discovered how truly practical and helpful the tools are!  So since Sept. 7 I have logged everything (the good, bad and ugly!) I have eaten and am adding my activities as well.

3. Reason for joining this group: Support!!!  Accountability!

4. Something interesting-- :D  Yea, I have to get back to ya on that one!

0. Hi!  I'm Emily. I'm excited to be a a new group member :)

1. History with weight loss: I've weighed between 120 and 140 since I was 15.  Even though that isn't a huge fluctuation in pounds, my diet, exercise habits, and general healthiness have yo-yo-ed entirely too much.  I lost 5 pounds healthily four years ago, then another 15 pounds unhealthily the year after that.  Then I messed up my knee while training excessively for a marathon, ended up in a wheelchair, and gained all 20 pounds back.  I've been back on my feet for almost 2 years now, and I've lost 10 pounds, but I haven't really gotten back into consistently healthy habits.  I want to lose 5 more pounds, but more importantly, I want to be and feel healthy.

2. History with calorie count: I've been on it off-and-on for the last 4 years. I got frustrated with myself each time I fell off, so I've had 3 profiles :/ The other 2 times, I mostly used the trackers, and didn't join groups.

3. Reason for joining this group: I really want to be healthy and happy and stay that way, and I've recognized that I need support, accountability, and the opportunity to be helpful to others to do that.  In college, after I stopped being unhealthy, I was on the lightweight crew team, and we had weigh-ins every Saturday.  It was really good for me to have that structure and accountability, so I was really excited to find this group!

4. About me: I'm 22 years old, I just graduated college, and I live with my fiance, 2 parrots, and 3 lizards.  We're getting married in 8 months, and my screen name is the date I WILL be fitting into the beautiful size 4 dress I found on ebay for $300 :)

I need all the accountability I can get; if you'd like a buddy, please add me regardless of whether our stats and goals are similar... my view is that whether it's 5 pounds or 500 that we're trying to lose, we're all fighting some of the same battles :)

Hello everyone! I just started calorie counting with CC. I have been weighing in on my own for 2 weeks now on Saturdays, I think that being in this group will help me to keep up with my weight loss.

I have always been a yo-yo dieter. I have probably tried almost all diets possible, Slim in 6, Weight Watchers, etc. and I have not been able to stick with any of them. I liked how Weight Watchers worked but I didn't like the points system. I have found that calorie counting is better for me because each day I see my goal, I think this helps.

I work as a Unit Clerk for the Telemetry ward at the hospital. I enjoy this job but it is just a means to an end. I will finish my Masters degree in May and at that time I will try for an accounting job with the medical center. I really enjoy the community and atmosphere of the hospital. I recently got married to a wonderful husband, who is supporting me in my weight loss and is joining in to lose some weight of his own. We got married March 21, 2009. We have a dog named Simon who is approx. one year old. We are planning on trying for a baby in the next year so I am trying to lose the weight before the pregnancy so that I will be healthier and not have that as a risk for the pregnancy. Also, I want to get into a workout routine before a baby comes into the picture.
And now just go ahead and make that first post!

I look forward to encouraging everyone in their weight loss goals!

~Jessica

2. History with Calorie Count: just started a week ago and i love it!

3. Reason for joining this group: to have accountability

mattie

Welcome to the group Mattie:)  I know from experience that post grad and healthy living/weight loss do not necessarily go hand in hand.  For me it always seemed to go from one extreme to another. Either found that I hadn't eaten at all or that I had "accidently" snacked on chips and pop all day- oops.  Anyway, welcome to the group.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi, hi!!

I'm Clara... I've been using this site since 2008... I usually come in here to use the food log and activity log... but, stopped when I got pregnant. I recently gave birth in January (this year). I had ballooned all the way up to 270 LBS., and it seems like I can't go back to my pre-pregnancy weight... or less. I admit I haven't been eating the right kinds of foods... and my portion sizes are humungous! I just logged in today after so many months... and tried logging in my food intake... and was just so shocked to see how much calories I was taking in! I mean, I've always struggled with my weight since I can't remember... but, I've never been this big! So, when I saw this groups name, I thought I should join for the support... and I guess we need to log in our weight every Saturday (?)... This will help me be more accountable. Well, good luck everyone!!! Smile

HelloSmile,

My name is Pam and I'm really glad I found this sight. I have lost weight in the past but was unable to keep it offEmbarassed. I'm soo hoping I can be successful this time around. I am currently 280lbs and terrified of gaining any more weight. I have never been this big, and I don't want to be unhealthy. I wish everyone good luck and I certainly hope you wish me success as well.

See Ya Saturday!Wink

Hii, my name's Arielle. aaaannnddd....

1. History with weight loss: I have never tried to loose any weight before, but I realized I've gained almost 10 lbs in my first year of college so I'm trying to get back to my old figure and find a stable healthy lifestyle for me.. it is hard for me to have time to exercise and eat healthy with all my studies.
2. History with Calorie Count: I just started using it this week, and I like it so farrr
3. Reason for joining this group: It sounded super fun to have a team effort group, and I think it would be really fun and constructive to have support, even if it's on the internet!
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a sophomore in college, and I plan to be a pharmacist. I love to weight lift, but I never have the time!! I love ice cream and cookies....

My name is Michelle, and I am trying to lose weight for my wedding later this year.

History with weight loss:  This is the first time I have truly tried to lose weight.  I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted, but once I reached 24 that all began to change.  I have gained 18 pounds in the last three years, and I would like to lose 15 lbs by April (when I will get married).

History with Calorie Counter: I just joined today, mainly for the support groups.

Reasons for joining this group:  I think being in a group will help motivate me and keep me on track.  It makes me accountable for my eating/excercise habits, and is also a great place to get advice.  I really like the idea of a weekly weigh in and seeing the progress (hopefully) on a consistent basis.

Interesting details: Well, besides getting married, I am a middle school teacher and I am currently in getting my masters degree.

Hey! I'm Chelsea and I'm  trying to lose weight just to feel better about myself.

1. History with weight loss: I've been trying to lose the same 5-10 lbs for about 2 years now. It's been on again off again. I feel like it's a never ending circle. I want to lose it and be done with it!
2. History with Calorie Count: I've had my accound for a year or two but haven't been consistent with it. Hopefully this will help me reach my goal.
3. Reason for joining this group: I want motivation to succeed and to help others succeed as well.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm from Texas, I love my bf VERY much :) and I work in downtown Fort Worth which has its perks every now and then. I finally moved out of the house and couldn't be happier.

That's a little about me, but I look forward to getting to know more people in this group.

Hi there, I am Rahamut and I hail from Trinidad and Tobago. I joined this group to keep track of my weight and to be accountable to myself.

I am 52yrs and in the last 15 years I have allowed myself to reach an astounding 325lbs. I started loosing weight in 2005 when I started a course at college. The truth is that I am disabled. Going back to college was the most challenging since I was unable to move around as I should. During my time there I lost 45lbs. Needless to say I did graduate doing quite well if I might say so myself.

I joined CC in March09 at 280lbs and have lost 38lbs since. I do not log my food intake in since I find it very cumbersome to check everything I eat. I do log my weight when I do loose any.

I am married with a daughter and one dog, a lapso appso. very friendly but can be very aggressive to strangers.very intelligent dog. I work in social services here in the Caribbean. I use to walk a lot but allowed myself to become somewhat immobile. I am trying to reverse this for good. because of my disability , I am unable to do normal exercises and a swimming pool is not as accessable. I do some walking on a treadmill with some difficulty. I perfer to walk on the road since I can stop and rest at will. I am trying to get my weight under 180lbs which should make life easy again.

Welcome Rahamut - thanks for sharing with us!

I'm 20 and in my 3rd year of college. I've had my ups and downs with losing weight. I'm currently 144. I want to be 135 by december. I know tough goal but I have time to work on it. I have been working on it for almost a month now.

I've struggled in the past with losing weight and gaining weight. I've been 184 and 136. I would love to do this the right way and get the right support from this site. I just joined today :) I'm really looking forward to doing this and helping others as well. I've had my share of ups and downs with everything but this time I'm actually getting on the right path and learning new ways to handle/deal with things. I'm learning to love life, and myself most importantly. When I reach 135 its like climbing a mountain, I'll be so happy to have finished this journey and the right way :)

I'm excited for the weigh ins. I think it will really help keep me on track! :)

Hi,

My name is Laura I am 25 years old and in my third year of law school. I have struggled with my weight all of my life, as a child I was a dancer but was always built different than everyone else around me and constatnly stood out - but was in no way overweight, simply a more athletic build. This standing out coninued through out high school which cause very unhealthy eating habit.

My current problem with my weight began with law school. I went from a very active person to one that sat in the library all day and night, ate tons of takeout and drank alot. I gained 25 lbs during the first 2 years of law school. Although I knew it and none of my clithes fit anymore, i just didnt have the energy to care. Over the summer I lost 15 lbs and started the new school year on a good note, with only 15 more lbs to my goal. Unfortunately, loosing weight in school has not been an easy task. It is difficult to schedule gym time and a pain to plan healthy meals when everyone around you is snaking on pizza, chips and choclate.

I joined Calorie Count about a month ago but didnt venture off into the groups until recently. The idea of being held accountable to someone other than myself inspired me to join this group. So here is to hoping it works.

Hello,

I started calorie count about 2 years ago.  I was active for awhile and then quit.  I still need to lose about 30 lbs.  I'm 42, work full time, have a husband and 2 kids at home (son-20, daughter-15) and 3 dogs.  I've had 2 back surgeries - the last one was a fusion in March 2009.  I'm now feeling good enough to start exercising more, but my diet is just horrible and it's so hard to change when you work full time and don't have any energy at night to cook a healthy meal.   It's so easy to just pick up fast food on the way home.  My soda consumption is out of control.  I'm hoping to make changes, so that is why I am back here on caloriecount.
