I will let you know a little bit about myself as well.
My name is Jaimee.. I am 18 years young.. and I have been at least 15 pounds overweight my whole life.
There has never been one time in my life that I have lost more than 5 pounds on my own [not due to illness]. I would really love to get out of this habit, and to tell you the truth, I NEED HELP!
I just joined Calorie Count, and am new to all of this. This website looks like a great place to find people like me trying to reach the same goal. I definitely need your guys' motivation and understanding for this.
I started this group because even though I am only 18... I have alot of medical issues that are pesky enough to counteract my weight loss goals. I also seem to have trouble making commitments to weight loss routines, no matter how bad I want to lose weight! I have noticed through my middle school/high school years [when boys/girls start to develop...] that carrying this constant extra weight around is staggering my confidence, and slowing me down in my life of success that sits in front of me.
I currently attend Des Moines Area CC in West Des Moines, IA, and live in a lovely two bedroom apartment with my boyfriend, Daniel [which in getting to know me you may hear much about.] Dan is the kind of person that does not care what I look like, but at the same time wants me to learn to love my body and soul the way he does. I work part time right now with U.S. Cellular, and he works full time at Wells Fargo and part time at Best Buy.
Now that you know a little more about me.. feel free to chime in! I have an open door policy... so feel free to email me anytime. Need something? Just ask!
My contact emails are lane.jaimee@hotmail.com, and jrlane3@dmacc.edu
Man I wish I only had 15 pounds to loose. I need to loose about 60 pounds at this point I really don't look that heavy but it's all around my belly so yeah my husband is always telling me to stop it already with this "being fat attitude". He say he LOVES me just the way I am. But I don't love me the way I am. I want to be thin again and feel good about myself and mainly for my health but yeah GOOD LUCK in loosing the 15 pounds girl....
I'll write a little more later on ok.....k
Hey, Y'all! Glad to be a member, and have support systems.
A little about me:
1. History with weight loss: I don't really have a history with weight loss. Up until about 21 yrs of age, I have been a weight that is healthy for my height, which is 5'2". Now instead of being short and 112 lbs, I am short and 149 lbs. I have been through a 7lb weight loss in the past month, so the above number used to be higher. My goal weight is 115-118 lbs, depending on the muscle tone I hope to gain.
2. History with Calorie Count: Brand spankin' new as of 9/12/08!
3. Reason for joining this group: To have a support family in my weight loss goals, and to provide support for others. Plus, I'm short, so I guess I fit the critera. :)
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I live in the great state of SC, southern girl born and bred (and when I die, I'll be southern dead). I am currently going through a divorce (in it's infant stages) and I am very much at peace with it. I have a wonderful family, and fantastic friends. I love Jesus, and am glad to have a new chapter in my life starting!
Hey guys ! I'm Brenda.
1. History with weight loss: I guess it begins in December of last year when I finally decided before winter break that I was going to get active and start dieting correctly to lose weight so I could look good in a bikini for the summer. At the time I was about 5'1" and 140 pounds. Towards the end of march I joined weight watchers and lost about 20 pounds, putting me at 120. However, due to binging and such I gained back about 5 pounds and have maintained 125 pounds until now. My goal weight is to be 115 pounds which is a BMI of about 21.7, I believe, which seems achievable.
2. History with Calorie Count: I actually just joined last week, and I LOVE it.
3. Reason for joining this group: Well for starters, I am pretty short :P. I think I could use the extra motivation. Seeing other people reach their goals really makes me want to achieve mine as well.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm a high school student from NJ. I enjoy running, watching movies (especially chick flicks), listening to music and reading. I'm a cheerleader for my high school and I absolutely love my friends. :)
Hello everyone Im Barbie
1. History with weight loss: yeah thats me alright I have been fighting with this my whole life. My mom was heavy and so is my grandmother, I want to change the pateren. I am now at my highest weight ever and i hate it and I am getting married in january 2010 and want to lose 120lbs.
2. History with Calorie Count: This my first day and so far so good.
3. The reason I jioned this group is I have tried to lose before on my owm but it hasnt worked, so i thought i might get some wieght loss buddies.
4.Interesting thing to know: well i walk 1 mile every day to work, so theres some exercise, but thats about all i get in a day. I work as an office manager so I am at my desk almost all day. I get home to cook and clean up nad try to find a moment to relax the weekends are usually to go out with my hubby and we dont own a car so we walk and catch the bus. I love my animals I have a pitbull and two small cats. I am really working on trying to figure everything out for my wedding so that way I dont get streesed at the last min to get everything done.
Hi, I'm Sara
History with weight loss: for as long as I can remember I have been just a tiny bit over weight - not enough that anyone has ever called me fat (except my mother), but enough that I know I'm not doing well. Recently, I soared to my highest weight and I need to get serious about making changes.
History with cloarie count: Joined 2 days ago, so far I like it.
Reason I joined this group: Well, i'm 5'2" and 144, so it seems like a good fit. I'd like to lose about 19 pounds and be at 120. If I still felt like I had extra fat on me then, I'd consider dropping to 115. Mostly, I just want a flat stomach!
Interesting things: I do cancer research; I'm applying to grad school, and I recently joined a gym and really love spinning cla
Hi! my name is Michelle, I am 20, 5'3" and 129lbs. Ok, I know that means I am in the "healthy" weight range, but I am trying to lose to 115 and I want to be more muscle, if that makes sense. Right now, I am technically a good weight, but it's mostly fat, so I'm very untoned. You can't really tell, but I promise.
History with weight loss: I have lost about 10 pounds in the last few months (since the summer - around July). I went from around 135-139 range to 129 precisely. In high school, I was consistently 115-120 until sophomore year, when I lost five pounds randomly and was about 110 until senior year, when I rocketed to 130. It was pretty horrendous.
History with Calorie Count: Just joined today :)
Reason for joining this group: It seemed interested and fun! :)
Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I was a gymnast for 10 years and could never ever return to do it (I have arthritis). When I quit when I was 16, I felt washed up and that was horrible too. I love to bike and my passion is writing. I am in college and live in a dorm - eating healthy is HARD, but I try. I don't go to the caf more than I need to, that's the key! I didn't gain the freshman 15 which made me really happy! :)
mish36 - I'm in EXACTLY the same situation as you! well, I'm 5'2.6" and 125lbs, but I'm generally flabby stuff.
I want to be a smaller healthy weight - which is about 100 - and get fit and toned, and thin and pretty like my friends.
As you can tell, my self esteem isn't particularly cloud-high.
My name is Artymis. I am 32, 4’10” and 148lbs, moderately obese, in fact. I stepped on the scale & knew it was bad, but the scale was 2 tiny lbs. away from 150! I am disgusted with myself. I remember when I was 18 & a size 0, now 14 years later I am a size 14!! The weight really started being packed on the last two years. Why did it happen... let’s see ; bad break up, working 90+ hours, moving every few months (15 times in 2 years), & going to school. Before the last 2 years happened, I was about 120lbs. I can’t say I don’t know how this happened, but I’m still just like WTH???
I am quitting smoking and trying to lose a total of 55 lbs. the short term goal is to look almost good in a bathing suit by summer (I love the beach!!) the long term goal is a total of 55 lbs. by Nov. 24th 2009 according to the Calorie counter Goal thing. This should be easier than in the past. I just started a new job in a new state, as a nanny, for a 9 yr old. So when she is in school, I can go work out. I am a HUGE couch potato, so getting off my butt will be hard. But I have a membership to the Y, & lots of time on my hands, so there is really no excuse for me not doing it. I plan to lose the weight doing 4 things
1. Cooking my own meals
2. Portion control
3. Not eating junk (including meat, dairy, most wheat (WW pasta 2-3x a week ,), & 99.99% of all things processed (can’t live w/o my white rice, pretzels, & crystal light)
4. Exercising
I started Monday & am very proud of myself that I have not cheated at either smoking or my diet! And have been to the Y every day except Monday & today. But (insert very bad words here) between the nicotine cravings (even with the patch & a little gum) and the withdrawal from the two years of junk food & nicotine = SOOOO cranky!!
So I joined this group for support, so far, so good! I wish every the best of luck!! I need to know that I’m not the one trying to get into better health, and though I know I’m not, it does really help to know that I’m not alone!
Just joined this group- so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jennifer, I am 26 years old and I am 5'1" tall. I am now at 133lbs- down from about 185ish. I never actually weighed myself at my heaviest because I was too scared to!
I seem to be struggling to lose the last 20lbs that stand between me and my elusive goal weight of 115. I am glad to see that so many people in my height range consider this to be an attainable goal. It gives me hope! I will get there- I just need some extra motivation.
I've been using calorie count for a while now, but only as a source for calorie counts to put in my food journal. I decided today i'm going to try to start utilizing it more fully- which is why I joined this group.
Good luck to all of you! I'm hoping that we can all help each other :)
Hi everyone,
I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. What a surprise to find a group for us shorties. My name is Jess, I'm 21 years old, and weigh 145lbs. I went through a rough patch last year after breaking an 8 year stint as a vegetarian. Needless to say cheeseburgers and other comfort foods helped me pack on some weight. I was 112 for a while, not realizing it I think I would feel my best at 120. I have some hips, why not embrace the natural curves! I watched my calories for a while and lost about 7 pounds. I went on a road trip for 2 weeks and gained it all back. Eating on the road made it difficult to eat healthy. I also drink a good amount of beer which doesnt help. I came back and just lost my motivation. Buuuuuut, we can do it so let's do it together!!!!
My names Jessie Im 17 and have no idea how to lose this stupid weight im 170 and im 5'2 so i need to lose about 50lbs to 60lbs to be at the weight i want.
