devilish_patsy – lives in New Jersey…just minutes from the Philadelphia area. She is a determined woman who has looked adversity in the eye throughout her life and beaten it. At the age of 47 she decided to take her own health and make it a priority. After losing 113 lbs, thanks to CC, a healthy lifestyle and exercise, Devilish_Patsy wishes to help others on CC achieve their goals. Her success story can be viewed on the CC Blog under Success Stories “From Plump to Pumped”. On a personal level, she is a widow, a mother of two and grandmother of four who adores dancing and strength training. She doesn’t believe in the word ‘diet’, she believes in a healthier approach to life. She is a positive person who believes that attitude isn’t everything, it’s the ONLY thing.
ksylvan - Kayvan is a guru level software geek who also likes to read and write fiction. He has a very varied background including being a Master NLP practitioner and hypnoptherapist. He lives in California with his wife and teenage children and his menagerie of four-legged friends (two dogs, three cats). He loves figuring out ways to incorporate health and fitness into his very busy schedule in ways that don't require a huge investment of time and money. You can see some hints about that in his profile and journal entries. He is committed to lifelong fitness and to helping everyone achieve that in their own lives every day.
lalabanana - Lala, or Ellie, is an eighteen year old hailing from the rainy island that is the UK. Since October 2007 she has been fighting with disordered eating, jumping from an emotional eater to anorexia and then to the recovery of present day. She is now looking to use her experiences to help others of any age and prevent people going down a similar dark road, encouraging health, wholesome food and happiness over numbers, digits and weights. Studying in her third year of college, she is looking to move on to Uni in either the general field of Journalism or into Counselling and Care. Outside of her health and personal life, Ellie is a self-professed nerd that loves fantasy, theatre, creative writing, cats and scarf collecting. And porridge!
nycgirl - Hailing from New York, nycgirl is a scientist/biologist who decided after all these years to make her own health a top priority. {You can read about her weightloss story in her profile!} Working in both drug development and now in a hospital/academic science she works intimately with medical professionals and understands much of the biology behind our health and physiology. Because she is not a medical professional she will encourage you to consult your physicians when an answer isn't straightforward!
peaches0405 - aka: Michelle, got her start at Calorie Count in 2007. Having been frustrated because her weight loss had hit a major plateau, she thought that counting calories might help. It wasn't until she came to this site that she realized she was actually under-eating. Not at the point of a starvation diet, but it was definitely under 1200 calories. She hadn't even realized it until she started using CC's resources and tools and browsing the forums. It was then that she learned that cutting calories TOO drasically was detrimental to the metabolism as well as long term weight loss. Now peaches sticks around as a moderator in the hopes that she might be able to pass some of her knowledge onto other newbies. You can also find her hanging out in the lounge, chatting and discussing whatever hot topics might happen to come up.
positivelinny - positivelinny loves to help others with ED or any other support with food or nutrition. She is graduating college in May with a degree in Journalism & Communications. Positivelinny willl then be studying for a Masters in Health Communication with a concentration in Holistic Nutrition/Life Coaching! She has been through an ED and has struggled with body image for quite a while in her teens through early 20's. She is now living life to the fullest, focusing on the true beauty of herself and others. Positivelinny loves to help and talk with people who are experiencing obstacles in their lives and wants to educate and create social awareness for the importance of recovering from any ED. Her main goal is to let others know that this is something that is possible to recover from. She says "Living life is the best gift that I have given to myself, and without the help of other moderators I could not have done it all alone. I remember the days when I would just log on the forum for support in hopes that I could feel happy and guided with my disorder. I am now realizing that there is so much to be grateful for and so much to be healthy for. I strive on health, happiness, and the power of love!! I am here to be a shoulder to cry on, a friend to chat with, or a guiding light to be dependent on. I have open arms for each individual here on this forum...and I hope that anyone would feel comfortable approaching me."
smwhipple - Hi there, smwhipple is a California girl and a computer geek. She absolutely loves CC since it's the only method She's ever used that has allowed her to lose weight. She's tried several programs (low carb diet, slim in 6, dance dvds, etc.) but never managed to do any of them long enough to see results (about a week each). She's generally pretty positive and likes dealing with the nice people on CC.
undertherainbow - UTR is a mid 20-something wife and mother. She too has tried various diet pills and programs but with juggling work, a marriage, a child and life in general counting calories has proved to be the most effective and rewarding "diet". She is a fairly patient and understanding person and always available for anyone if they have any questions, comments, or concerns. She has learned so much from CC and its wonderful members about nutrition, weight management, and fitness and continues to expand her knowledge everyday.
