136? That determination and good efforts are paying off - feeling very optimistic for you with this week and your month goal! This morn, 246 & 247 (within minutes apart but still good).
I have a real push now - last night I bought 2 dresses. That may not sound like much but prior to that Ive only bought one other at Easter since starting this diet summer 2007. It was too hard to justify, still having the string of dresses I had outgrown on my way up to 400+. The good news - clearance! $20 & $24. The better news, these are dresses that will be favorites - girly like I love but never would find in the women's sizes.
Ive been comfy and secure in my oversized dresses but here are dresses that are fitted to my waist yet flowing at the hips. Also they are snug - just the push and reward I need heading into this timeline towards thanksgiving and christmas.
For months, my friend has told me to get clothes and I didnt want to. My mom, who because of her age isnt very interactive, still every other visit tells me mom clothes are too big. I look forward to being able to wear them to see me. It should make her happy.
Congrats to sun!!!!!
Ice, I'm right where you are: 136 flat. I hosted a Tastefully Simple party last night and I cheated for the first time in over a month...and figures I lose .2 lbs!!! Ugh : ) no more cheating though...hopefully I'll see 135 again soon : )
Keep up the good work everyone!!
WooHoo Im back with a blazing fast new computer. No comment on my weight though Im up even more and still havent had my thyroid levels checked again. There is no way I should have gained this much weight in such a short amount of time. Unbelivable and so not fair. Holy Moly Ive missed you all. **JUMPS Up and down*** you guys rock. Im so ready to get back on board.... thyroid issues or not.
The crazy numbers Ive bumped (February 15 lbs in a week), nothing would suprise me Sarah but SOO good to have you back. Fighting the computer all day, a bit of envious of your new online set-up but happy for you!
I didnt realize until halfway thru today that tomorrow is weighin. Pumping up the liquids. I REALLY cant believe we're arriving halfway thru November this weekend either. As disappointing as last weeks weighin was, it should cause for a nice drop tomorrow (unless I pull another weird bump up). Overtime, they should balance each other out. Better be careful, assuming a bit and I havent weighed in yet :P.
Inlove, you and ice are so close - keep up the great work. One night is just one night out of a great month so if tomorrow is reactive, Im thinking give it a few days but wishing the best for you!
Thursday weigh in: 136 lbs. Not good, not bad.
I did have my first cheating night Tuesday at my Tastefully Simple party. I didn't cheat horribly though...and I was down .2 lbs the next day! Go figure... : )
Tomorrow night my church is having a Thanksgiving dinner...and there will be TONS of really yummy foods and desserts. I haven't decided if I'm cheating again tomorrow night or not... : (
Thanks for the luck, Sun : ) Hopefully it will work for tomorrow night as well if I choose to cheat!! Hope everyone else has a great weigh in today!!!
*loves*
Guys, I made it back to 135.5! Yay! I'm so happy right now! I guess drinking all that water paid off. I swear I was going every 5 mins yesterday! Hoping to see some lower numbers next week.
Inlove, hang in there. You can do it!
Sun, I'm sure you'll have a good weigh-in...you deserve it.
Cool inloveand Im wondering if a loss that might not showed because of reaction may show up as a push next Thursday.
How happy was that Ice, crossing over! Thinking about making progress from having already dropped is exciting - especially when we've coped with those numbers that seem to stick.
Checking in with 246.0 so my weight log chart finally looks back on track. I dont think I actually lost 7 lbs in one week - just my prior lackluster weighins were misleading so today looks bigger than had prior Thursday been better represented. Technicalities - just glad to be here.
If I thought the dresses for thanksgiving and christmas were incentive, I just learned online late last night Leonard Nimoy will be doing a lecture on his photography early February. I was already doing the potential weightloss math and will be shooting for a 200 lb goal to attend. The irony is that its for his Full Body Project photography, if youre at all familiar with that.
Good morning all. Off to a good start today and excited about starting over.
Inlove Good luck with the thanksgiving dinner at church. Im taking an easy way out this year and skipping the big dinner thing. I know I dont have to eat whats on the table but its so hard when all my favorite foods are staring me in the face. My hubby has decided to try to take off some weight so at least Ill be supported in the no big dinner plans.
ice...glad you made it back to 135.5. with all that water its no wonder you spent all day in the bathroom. I need to work on getting my water up. thank goodness for crystal light.
Jayne hope you will enjoy it as much as you did the last time you meet him. His photography is great.
Sarah, glad things have started off well. Keep that focus and you'll be rebounding to some losses!! Still glad to have you back :D.
Im going to my friends for Thanksgiving, my "diet coach" so I'll be in good hands. Its such a food holiday, if it wasnt for seeing people I normally dont - I'd happily skip it. Dont mean to be a grinch and am excited to see them. Will remember that focus. Plus avoidance is very effective for me so like you Sarah, all that stuff staring me down I dont like. Sorry if this sounds sickningly lame but I am so pumped about this Feb trip and then Aug one that Im wanting the weight of like yesterday so the food isnt as much an issue. (<-- oh please dont be words to haunt me LOL!)
And thanks Sarah, hard for folks to understand how over the top I get about these opportunities.
No prob Jayne I get to live through you LOL. My biggest thrill these days is going to store by myself and that happens maybe once a month haha.
135.6 lbs this morning : )
Sarah - good idea to skip the dinners...I have NO will power when it comes to them...so I will be cheating tonight at the church dinner. Now watch, I will be crying on Monday when I've gained 10 lbs!! Haha. Skipping would be the best idea, but seeing how my father is the pastor of our church...I just can't do it. Ugh.
Ice - good job on 135.5 lbs!!! I'm .1 behind...until tonight, that is. Maybe you and I can keep each other on track since we're so similar. How tall are you??
Jayne - you're cracking me up!! I guess we're all agreed that avoidance is the way to go!!! I absolutely LOVE the holidays as well...but I wish I could postpone them until I was a little lighter ; ) Hang in there!!
Well, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend - see you Monday!! xoxo
Sarah, your overdue for a pampering mom's day out!
Yay, inlove!! Me and Ice rebounded from out weekend splurge - contain it, following up with squeaky clean eating will put a rebound in your favor. Since you'll be cheating, allow yourself to enjoy it and just move on back to your low weighin. Im pretty spoiled, living alone so I can keep my house clean and temptation free.
Well, I saw a 234.6 this morning. Really? Not sure when my scale will show me that again but I'd settle for Thursday weighin again. It was bit of a thrill to see though.
Good evening everyone My day was pretty good I did have a small slice of cheese pizza and then ate salad for the rest of the meal. My husband had me go out and buy him some chocolate WHAT! At least he hid it from me. I only hope I wont get tempted to look for it.
Inlove I guess there is no way around your church dinner. Hopefully there are some southbeach friendly foods there. The turkey counts right.
Wow Jayne I cant believe how much progress youve made since we met on this thread over a year ago it just blows my mind.
Sorry I was MIA yesterday. We finally completed our move to the new place, and I had to live without internet for an entire day!!
(lol)
I guess moving does pay off. I'm down to 134:) I saw the number yesterday, but didn't want to own it until I saw it again, just in case it wasn't gonna stick around.
Inlove- Hope you were able to find some SB friendly foods at the dinner. If you cheated, don't beat yourself up about it...just do as Jayne suggested- eat clean and drink lots of water. Oh, I'm 5'5...keeping track of each other is a good idea:) I know the holidays are coming up and it's gonna be tough when all that pie and stuff is staring me.
Jayne- congrats! way to go...I guess your scale got the memo that this was the month of the low 200's:) Hopefully it sticks. I totally understand what you mean about Thanksgiving being a food holiday...pple try to make you feel bad/weird if you don't eat everything in sight.
Sarah- Hersey's has a sugar free milk chocolate that's SOOO good and fits right into those 75 cals allowed for sweet treats on SB;) That should help you get over the craving if you start hankering for some of your hubby's chocolate. The sugar free fudgsicles are really good as well and are only about 60 cals.
Great job ladies...keep it up:)
Has anyone heard from Ozma lately? Ozma, hope you're doing ok and staying on track:)
Must be nice having some closure on your move but how much nicer to see 134! Twice to reaffirm :D. Looks like teaming up for the "lows" this month was a good idea! My goofy scale. After throwing out a 243 and within the span of a few minutes, I saw a 245, 244, 245, 244 and 244. Thinking I work the averages? This isnt a cheapy scale either. I was 246 Thursday so they all work :P. Granted my schedule had me 244 for it and 242.5 this Thursday but I seem to be catching up.
Inlove - diet or no diet, the SF fudgesicles are great. Also SF puddings are around 60 cal but Hunt's handipack ones are only 40 so you can have a double for 80 (not that you couldnt do the math LOL). I hadnt considered SF Hersheys but wondering if chocolate cottage cheese would be weird or great.
Sarah, awesome control with the Pizza - you seem right on board with control (and pizza of all things, imagining how easy it could be to be tempted). Funny on the chocolate. I bought some to bring to my mom at the center and Alice suggested I leave it in my car. This was a good idea since I rarely need to drive but Thursday I hit some stores for a new shaper and they were riding copilot LOL! I also had a tin of nuts for her with it which was more tempting but they are a portion issue so didnt even go there either.
I got back from my conference the week before, where they fed us too much wonderful food. Yes, I'm up. Buffets or dinners, it was as normal, just hard to keep SB friendly when eating out and away from home.
Last week did better, and recently changed my goal as I don't think, being older, I'll ever attain it. But I need to get back to my lowest here on SB, which I guess was last summer, when I was riding my bike and doing long, 2 hr walks.
I'm boiling eggs today, for deviled eggs, or snacks, going back to egg white omletts, etc. Also according to the machine at the store, (not my dr. office) my BP has shot up with my recent gain. bad news, but expected.
My job is more under control so I am trying harder to get out of the office at a decent time. When I do I feel like eating healthier and exercising. Twice this week I got up at 6:30 and walked 30 min in the woods before work and LOVED it. Hope I can keep that up.
sun, you are only 50# more than me. How are your clothes fitting now?
sarah, nice to see you again. I guess I will hve to spend the rest of my life here, cause obviously when I relax and get away from CC my weight goes right back up.
{{Hey Racheal}}
Have missed you. I just bought 2 new dresses but theyre dressy for holidays and still wearing my old clothes, which are baggggy. I think they same thing about staying here longterm, no matter how low I get. Im knowing you did love those walks! The only thing I like about my walks is accomplishing them but not the actual walking LOL. Bit grueling but worth it.
I understand the re-evaluating your weight goal. I did that and came to a weight that in my younger days wouldnt have worked. Sometimes I wonder when I get the skin removal, how much weight that will be but final goal isnt until later next year. April first with some luck I will hit 200.
BTW ICE no, havent heard from Ozma. Didnt you say she introduced you to CC or was that someone else. I hope if she's moved onto another diet, she knows she still welcome here.
Hi Guys I just wanted to check in since I have not been online much. I had the slowest computer known to man and that added with school and starting to prepare for the holidays I just have not been around much. I finally got a brand new computer and dsl so now I can get online alot easier and get to the websites without my computer freezing up.
Is everyone prepared for Thanksgiving? I am almost, we are just having us this year, my boyfriend eats ham and I get a boneless skinless turkey breast for me and we have lots of veggies and instead of stuffing will have alexia potatoes in olive oil, parmesan and garlic. No rolls and no dessert. Christmas will be alittle harder since we may be going to Ohio to see my family. I am nervous about flying at this weight since I have not flown in many years. It all depends on how the price of tickets go.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
sun, didn't know you were having skin removal, but I know it will be more pounds off than what you expect, from what I watched on the shows on TV.
I'm down another pound, so yesterday was a good day for me. Kept appetiate under control and ate healthy and nothing processed. Today is a snowy Sunday and normally would love to be baking something, but NO, can't do that. I'm thinking of getting an avacodo to slice on a turkey sandwich, when I go to the store today. I thought of some small treat last night, but resisted. I still have a "one cookie" recipe from someone on CC, that I might do one of these days.
Since I'm tall I am settling for 170 for my goal. I know thats more than what most ppl would consider a good weight, but for me it makes size 14 loose, and it means I still need to watch, but not have to suffer unrealilisticly, and my BP is low at that weight.
have a good day everyone.
Snowy? Wow! Yesterday was our first BIG jump into brrr. Congrats on your continued comeback - mucho cheers to you. I think that too Rachael about my goal being higher than consider goal weight. Im going for 165, easy math since my start was 465. I think its good that your shooting for a weight thats good for your height and not something to set yourself up for the struggle of trying to maintain below it.
Definitely will have to do skin removal, primarily on my legs. Would be wonderful if I could do some now but need to wait until the last 100 lbs are gone.
Happy to hear from you, Velvet and hope the computer arrangement means hearing more from you. Im going strict Thanksgiving too but can see how challenging christmas would be when youre staying with people out of town.
I had a spooky number on my scale last night. From morning 243 to late night 247 & 249 (I can say it now LOL) but maybe just to soften seeing 245 this morning. No biggie - Im thinking Im 244-245 with random 243s peeking in until it sticks.
