Yay - got to return the toaster cuz got mine to work and money is tight so yay and yay!  Especially since I only use it for English Muffins and occasionally.

It doesnt seem like much of a cheat Ice with you not eating in addition to your Thanksgiving.  I like your attitude about following up with the exercise. Main reason Im so super strict is because my prior cheats normally snowball but great way to balance.  Something for me to work before maintenance arrives.

Thanksgiving, a whole week prior to upcoming weighin so time for some recovery for anyone who had big fun.  Know you guys are out there but verbose as I am, I will post regularly as usual.  Hope to hear updates of course and love your company here.

Turkey Day went good had alittle more carbs and sodium then planned but calories were good, so I should be alright with water retention.

Has anyone here been watching Ruby?  It is a show on the Style channel at 8pm on Sundays.  It is about a woman who use to weigh 700 lbs and at the start of the show she was 474 lbs and it is 9 episodes long and on the 3rd episode which was last week she was at 414, the reason I like it is she is watching what she eats and trying to exercise, she did not have surgery and It is pretty popular which actually surprises me because usually television is not very size friendly.  They are rerunning the past episodes also.  You should check it out if you have not seen it.

I cant believe we are at the end of November.  Christmas is just around the corner.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

I saw the first Ruby episode but missed that she had come down from 700 - thought she was at her highest.  Im no good at keeping up with TV shows as I watch very little but she definitely is a character so Im betting it will be interesting.

If being at the end of November is surprising, thinking 2010 is a month away.  Last year there was a surge in posting here at CC with the resolutions hitting. I posted my Thanksgiving photo in my gallery. The dress I picked is purposely loose in the stomach to downplay the contrast between my waist and hips which is disproportional (always has been at any weight).

You can see the skirt I spoke of so that I dont have to sew black borders on my dress bottoms.  I saved myself tons of work that Ive postponed in sewing many dresses.

Hello all!  I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday.  I spent time with the family and all was well.  I cheated once in order to have some pumpkin pie...but it was worth it!  Miraculously I ended up losing another pound, which brings me to 131.4.  I think all the extra effort in taking care of my nephew burned off the calories =)

I went running once, but not for very long.  My foot feels a little funny, but it does not hurt anymore.  I am going to go to the gym today and see what happens.

Of course everybody kept offering all kinds of goodies to me, and sometimes they got really upset when I said no...but in the end I felt better for resisting.  Plus I still got to eat lots of turkey and other delicious things...so it wasn't like I was really suffering =)

I was in charge of cooking this year which was a pain and a half.  After cooking it all day I didn't even want to look at it...let alone eat it!  But apparently my sweet potato casserole was the bomb...or so everybody said.  Considering how much butter, sugar, nuts, and marshmallows were in it...I am not surprised. We also celebrated my birthday again since my family hadn't seen me and I got some nice clothes from my sister and other things.  My mom is of course still buying me size 12's.  No matter how many times I say "mom I'm a medium, mom I'm a size 8 (or 6 now)" she doesn't listen.  It really depresses me sometimes because it makes me feel like she can't even see the difference...

This suddenly turned into a long post when it was just supposed to be an update lol but thank you to anybody who reads it all the way through!

Hope all is well with everyone here.

From the queen of long posts, you dont have anything on me Ozma Tongue out and appreciate you catching us up.  Can I say how awesome to see your 131.4 - you must be loving on that! Sounds like you slammed dunked thanksgiving without deprivation but balancing it.

Interesting about the cooking of the dinner being a turn off.  Seeing tempting foods is nothing compared to the scent of them cooking and you had to be surrounded with it.  Thats a curious thing about your mom - there could be different reasons behind it but if she does think of you as a size 12 or your previous size, betting physically seeing you she notices.

My other thread for monthly weighin had me at 239.0 this morning.  Im pretty close to having caught up to schedule since this Thursday was set for 238.  Setting up a dr appt today as over these 225 lbs lost havent been to him althought prior I didnt go to the dr for checkups but specific ailments which was rare. Also today is the return to walking as last week was heel week, practicing for Thanksgiving.

Good morning everyone!!  I'm glad it sounds like you all had a great Thanksgiving : )  Mine was FANTASTIC!!!  The entire weekend was just perfect.  And I'm sure I gained about 10 lbs while enjoying it!!!  I have not weighed since Thanksgiving morning...and I was a big 137.6 lbs.  I refuse to weigh right now...as long as I'm eating leftovers, I'm refusing to weigh.  Ugh!!!! : )

Ozma & Jayne - good job on the lower weights!!  I have NO idea how you did that : )

Today is my 1 year anniversary and I'm eating wedding cake tonight!! : )  Even though I'm still in my "heaviest weight ever range" I'm still the happiest I have ever been.  I never imagined I'd be this happy and, yes, you guessed it, In Love : )  Okay...enough of the sappy stuff.

Thanks so much to Ice for trying so hard to keep me on track!!  You should all know that Ice has been really great for me...even though I haven't been very great for her : (  I'm still not giving up though!!!! : )

Hope you all have a great week!!!  I may not write much this week b/c I don't think it's fair for me to post about how much weight I'm gaining and blah, blah, blah...especially when I'm not even trying hard to lose weight.  I will continue to read your posts though.  Love you all!!

Morning everyone.  Sounds like you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Congrats Ozma and Sun for losing over the holiday:)

Still cheating cuz my friend is still here, but I'm trying to keep it at a minimum. I have been running, so hopefully that helps. I haven't weighed in a few days, but hopefully I haven't gained. Everything should get back to normal starting tomorrow.

Inlove, just hang in there and don't worry too much. If you cheat in moderation, it might not turn out too bad. I've actually heard of pple losing weight while eating whatever they want.

Feels like I'm definitely coming down with the flu or something. My friend is sick, so my husband and I are doing everything possible to avoid gettting sick, but I don't think it's working. I really don't have the time to be sick right now, cuz I have exams starting tomorrow. Hopefully, I can tough it out.

Ugh - exams while not feeling well? I almost never get sick but when I do, I feel like Im in a fog. Give it the good fight, Ice! If your feeling lousy, sometimes comfort food is helpful but if your up for the calorie restriction remember warm chicken broth is crazy low cal.

Happy Anniversary, inlove! Cool At least you posted - when you dont here from me its likely because Im hiding cuz Im on a binge (not that you are but with me it still black and white with dieting).  As far as how I did it holidays, I have 2 tight dresses deadline Im fighting to hit.  I agree with Ice, it will balance out and for some (has happened for me), the zigzag of high cal followed by diet cal can strangely payoff.  Your thanksgiving sounded awesome and hoping tonight is a replay!!

If your around though, post inlove.  Always enjoy hearing from you and there is time for you to balance out the current anyway.

Happy Anniversary inlove!

Sun - Your thanksgiving dress was lovely!

It feels weird for it to be Dec 1st already, I swear time just flys.

Hope everyone is having a good week.  I am in my last 1 1/2 of school till winter break.

Good morning ladies....  OKay so Ive been gone for a week.    Thanksgiving was good... we went out to dinner.  I never in my life thought I would eat out on thanksgiving.  I had turkey and greenbeans and I only took a few bites of stuffing.  Now I have to confess to dessert....The place we went to had those mini desserts that are only three bites.  I had only one and called it a day  WOOHOO.  Any way I was kind of proud of myself especially with the big slices of stuff staring at me.  The docs office called but Ive been out of town and he wants to up my thyroid meds so I guess Im still out of wack.  More tests in 6 weeks "sigh".

Oh yea I went digging for diamonds  it was fun but we got rained out and the kids were miserable.  Going to go back when its warmer and not so wet.  It was like a big mud pit.  the kids had a blast for the first hour or so then the cold set it.  We were covered with mud head to toe.

Glad to be back and Congrats on all the losses.

Thanks Velvet and wondering if Dec will zoom like Nov has.  Do you have winter break plans?

Good to hear from you Sarah and that sounds like a pretty clean thanksgiving!! You should be proud :D!  I know you werent totally satisfied after your first thryroid go round so maybe this will see better results with the med adjustment.

Yesterday, got a new doctor. I havent been one to get check ups limiting them to specific occurance visits which means its been forever for me to have seen one outside of last summer before applying for my declined gastric. Then had bloodwork done and despite my 400+, was suprisingly normal on all counts.

Poor guy - Im such a procrastinator that Ive a list of NINE separate issues to address with him! Primarily, my exteme edema (only in my calves) and my exaggerated memory problems.  Getting new bloodwork and curious if I still have normal cholesterol. I eat MANY eggs and didnt wheen tested 2007.

UGH - not wanting to wait, made appt yesterday for today 3pm despite 12 hour fast for bloodwork. No food! Stayed up until 3am, hoping to sleep late but didnt although I did eat before going to bed.  Also, "went" this morn and weighed in 136.8 but knowing thats after moment is always my best weighin so just need 138 for Thursday to stay on my loss sched which I just caught up to last week.

Good morning, ladies!

So, I was MIA for a while. Was busy with work and my parents were in town the week of Thanksgiving. They did some nostalgic eating while in San Diego and dragged me down with them, LOL!! I figured I'd splurge a little bit, but I kind of went overboard. I was down to 158, but after all the carbs, sodium and wine, I was 165 this morning. I'm kind of mad at myself for letting it get that out of control, but oh well. I have been exercising rather faithfully, so I'm really hoping that extra 7 lbs will come off really easily. I am starting back on phase 1.

I won't be able to exercise for a few days, though, I feel like I'm getting sick. Though I just a flu shot this morning, so maybe that's it.

HUGE congrats to those that managed to maintain or lose weight over thanksgiving! That is a gigantic accomplishment, and you should be proud!!

Sounds like fun with your folks, Brianna! Lets hope that is just the flu shot but if not, those fluids will be good for the flu and washing out the water retention but lets hope the sick thing passes without the actual flu.  Ive not had a cold or flu since I can remember and am the worst baby - Ive no tolerance for feeling sick.  Good thoughts for phase 1~

After all that $%^& fasting today, they couldnt draw blood - it was too late for it to go to the lab.  Im off in the morning to do it again but at least will fast while I sleep but ARGH! Classic me - I forgot my 'list' of things to address to the dr. I remembered a bunch and really like him. He was embaressing complimentary about my weightloss and I had a real  friendly manner but one issue. He tells me I dont have edema. I do. Ive had drs tell me, the water used to blister and then 'weep' draining out and I used to have the type where if you pressed it, a fingerprint depression was left behind (theres a name for that edema).

He thinks its 'fat'.  Im talking (eek numbers) 20 inches around my calves at both the normally fullest part but 18 around the ankle.  My calf literally 'sits' on the top of my foot.  Fat?! We WILL revisit this but the other issues I could remember went well.  I know Ive faulty valves in my calf veins - the blood pools, water seperates and seeps into the calve so its due to my organs nor affecting my body otherwise.  Wish I could blame my butt on edema :P.

Morning...  Jayne my docs appt last week was bad.  The guy was just plain rude but Ill just never go back to see him.  Im holding steady at 177 I hope the weight comes off easier with the adjustment of the meds.

Velvet I know what you mean.... December already.   Any one have thier tree or lights up yet?

Ice hope you feel better and I hope those finals go well for you.

Briana the weight should come off pretty fast if you hop back on the wagon.

Inlove I remember eating the year old wedding cake.... it was better after we warmed it up in the microwave a little bit.  I still thought it was bad though LOL.

Took my bloodwork and have another month before I see him on it. Mainly curious on the cholesterol with all my eggs but curious to see if my weights good. The best - food! I had such a small window last night before I had to fast again for today.  Weighed in this morn 237 point something (dont remember) and wondering if returning to food might bump me up for tomorrow. My goal next goal is 230 for Jan 1st  so if it does, Ive time to rebound.

Out of curiosity last night, tried to squeeze into my daughters pajamas bottoms. Theyre medium but baggie medium and squeezed into them. They actually hold me in better than my shaper and even out my leg smoother too - whats up with that?  Plus no rolling up at the knees LOL! Course theyre dark navy and green plaid but hidden under my long dresses, whose to know. Plus there warm eventhough theyre thin flannel probably cuz their tight but big plus there.

Hoping the new meds do the trick, Sarah. Yesterday I replied to the nurse that I'd used SB to lose the weight. She said she'd lost on it and will start again after the first, but has gained some because of prescribed steriods.  Tried to remember prior members who had the steriod challenges, sarah - irlomet and angie?

Hello ladies. Good to see that everyone's doing well. Sarah, thanks for the well wishes. I took the yesterday and today off from work to recuperate, and I'm feeling a lot better already. Had my first exam yesterday, 1 quiz and 2 more exams to go til I'm done with the semester.

I thought for sure I was gaining since I cheated all weekend, so I checked last night and, sure enough, I was 137. Stepped on the scale today... 134.5:) I haven't seen that number for a while, so I guess going to the gym helped a little. Everything (food-wise) is back to normal as of yesterday, thinking to get back on phase 1 after exams.

Thursday weighin and higher than average loss - 236.4, an even 3 lb loss.  So last week I was .5 lbs ahead of sched but now 1.6 ahead.  This is a blessing because in lousy Oct I stalled and by the end of it, was 5 lbs behind sched.  Need to build that lead for the next potential stall but only praying it would be *after* Feb trip (if only we had such control over things!).

Yay, Ice - bumped that number and you are so close to your goal. You predicted that gym workout would boost you and look at you go!  You colds getting better, semester is narrowing down and your on track with moving your scale - super happy for you :D.

Saturday party will be 2 weeks since I bought the dresses and although fitting me when I bought them, the 10 days made me feel a bit more loose. Thought that might be in my head but now I can clip my squeeze my hand in between the February dress and my waist so no longer skin tight.  Cant sit in it comfortably yet though but working the time available on the calendar until then. What a high to try on something that fits better after losses show up on the body.

Yay, Sun! Congrats on your loss. Those dresses will probably be too big for you by the time February rolls around;)

I think I spoke too soon about getting better... I'm back at work today, and I feel horrible. In fact, worse than I did yesterday. I have another quiz today, so hopefully I can survive long enough to take it.

I was still 134.5 this morning, and I hoped to make it to the gym, but I seriously doubt that's gonna happen.

well, today I weighed at 164. So I lost a pound. Hey, I'll take it!! :)

Good luck to everyone.

I actually was about to post this on the forum but found this post! I started the S.Beach diet officially today I did low carb yesterday but I went shopping for some recipes from the book.

my question is did anyone have withdrawl symptoms from not having any sugar?I believe myself to be an addict when it comes to sugar!also how much did you lose in phase one? how long did you stay in phase one?I'm thinking about staying in phase one for 3 weeks instead of 2.
