HAHAHA LOL funny Jayne.  CONGRATS.  Ive been lurking this long to hear from you(but I do like lurking).   YEAAAAA!

On a totally unrelated topic Im celebrating being in the 150's by going to get my hair cut tonight.  How short will I go that is the question of the day!!!!
Did I EVER doubt you could do it, Sun?   No, I didn't  :=)

good for you!!!
You have to know how strange it was seeing 358 again, right on the dot (well, .3 but still).  Will be testing for telekinesis powers tonight.

Sarah, you wouldnt tell us about a haircut without planning to post a photo, now would you?  So cool your hit 50s - that is something!  I'd have done a happy dance myself.

The baked beans are not technically allowed because theyre sweetened.  I imagine one could do a splenda version but I personally never have luck experimenting like that.

Kathryn, no apologies for the long post - got us caught up.  Best wishes to your dad that he's out to the center soon!  Sorry to hear of having to suffer the weight gain but dont sweat it, put it on the back burner and take care of you.

Thanks for pointing that out Heather.  I remember back in the day before Kraft when Dr. A specifically spoke out against these types of bars and know his logos on them.  Im not hating on them myselfs, although I dont do them because I could really get hooked.  I have to wonder how much of his rights he signed away with Kraft.  Early on, I would check the frozen dinner entrees and they were clean as was his salad dressing.

Rachael, it was nice seeing an older post reminding me I was higher in January and for us to keep things in perspective.  Hope your enjoying that big salad.  A strange but interesting thing I found for salad occasionally is broken triscuits.  They break so easily along the ridges, are healthier (whole wheat) and to me taste better then croutons and stand up with dressing.
Good morning.... Hair cut fell through last night so Im going to see about getting it done today.  Hows everyone else?
sarah:  ask for a 'Katie Holms' haircut.  Your hair is the same color and it would look great on you.

sun:  ok, I'll try triscuits, after the V. D. challenge.  I don't buy crouton, cause I find myself nibbling on them all day.  Love them, but too many calories.  I'm eating romaine and mixed lettuce, but still, don't think theres much fiber or nutrition in it.  It's filling and guess thats its only redeeming feature.  I'm even just using lemon juice, no dressing.

Rats!  I'm mad.........have been diligent, but up .7# and guess its from laying around yesterday.  After walk/run didn't feel sick but didn't feel good, maybe drained.  Maybe it was my body adjusting to recent loss?

Also, am feeling a little sad cause I'm not allowing myself anything special or tasty to eat till Valentines Day.  I have a blob of 3# of chicken thawing in the fridge and not feeling inspired.  This is hard, when you're being careful and can't even go out to a restaurant cause all restaurants are BAD!!!

I have low fat sour cream in the fridge.  What can I do with it that doesn't involve a baked potato?

Wish I could go back to bed, but today have to concentrate on BURNING calories.  Everythings covered with snow, its gloomy and I'm totally out of exercise ideas.

But, it's Friday......yay.

Rachel fajitas need sour cream.  Are you on phase one? If not try taking fiber one cereal and crushing it up and seasoning it with onion, garlic. salt and pepper and bread that chicken for faux fried chicken strips.  I made these a while back and my whole family loved them even my hubby which was a shocker.  Hungrygirl.com has the recipe and its SB friendly.  laughing cow light swiss cheese and sour cream melt well together. maybe pour that over some grilled chicken.  I sound a little food obsessed today SORRY!

Bee  I hear ya on the wanting a grain back.  I find that being liberal with cinnamon on my oatmeal helps fight cravings.  I heard that cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar.  for me it works or it could be all in my head LOL
Sarah, you never cease to amaze me with the food ideas you know!  You were the one that got me to sign up for hungry girl and I usually hate online stuff the send you emails regularly but even if its something I cant use, its almost always interesting read.

Yeah bee, coming over to the healthy carbs.  Watch yourself - some graduate over fine but I had to go slowly and even still dont do carbs before breakfast.  Pay attention to any that seem to spike your hunger and youll do great.

Rachael what about low cal dessert?  Might not sounds special but 40 cal SF fudgesicles are great!  I hope you come up with a fun exercise idea, maybe a big shopping day for clothes or something else you like?
Hi ladies!!!!

Jayne - congrats on the weight loss!!!  the report was brilliant!!!!

Sarah - you def have to post a picture to show us all the new cut!!!

Rachel - Big YAY for Friday! i know how un-inspiring the weather can be and how hard it can be motivated to exercise!!

Bee - congrats on the weight loss!!

As of this morning I was 132lbs!!  I'm happy about that!!

My boyfriend told me last night that he was going for surgery on his knee.  He hurt it doing sports (Hurling) last year, and it hasnt healed so the doc is going to put a scope in, have a look around and fix anything that needs to be fixed.  Surgery is for the 19th, so fingers crossed!
thanks bee and getfit.  Chicken taco sounds really good, also the chicken frijtas.

How do I find recipes on HungryGirl?  Where is the search?  I tried entering 'chicken' and got nothing.  Guess I'll look on CC for now.

EDIT:  found fajita recipes here, and copied them, even found one for the spice mixture, which was nice cause I didn't feel like going to the store.   oh my eyes are watering from all those spices.  But it smells so good.  Just happened to have the red onion, pepper and mushroom.  Even found how to pronounce fa-hee-ta  :=)   I don't eat cheese much cause of the sodium, but wish I had some today for this.

2nd EDIT:  oh I'm in love.......with fajitas.  Best thing I've had in so long.  How could I get to this age and never have eaten them before?  And, I didn't miss cheese on them, the sour cream was wonderful.

Thanks for the support - I have now left the "pity party" and am getting on with positive thoughts.  Dad is doing somewhat better too.

Great news Sun and loved the post.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Morning Everyone.  Hope your day is great!!
morning.

sun:  fudgepops.  bought some 2 weeks ago and ate the box in 2 days, so i'm holding off on those as i obviously have no willpower around them.

Still at 176.9 today and that's 4.9# from goal, so doubtful I make it :(

Now wishing I had joined a gym this week.  Sat. they will likely be too crowded, so will wait till Monday and that will give me more time to get my nerve up.

bee:  still have chicken to cook, so trying chicken taco today.  I use a pkg of seasoning for my hamburger taco, and suppose it will be the same, only I'll have to use chunked chicken since it's not ground.  I do have lettuce and the taco sauce here, so I'm all set.

Ok, I'm in as of today.

I'm hasta - central texas - cw 141 goal 135 ultimate goal 125 - age 43 -

I've done SB b4 with tremendous success.  I'm pretty educated on the died and why with works because I've read just about everything I can find on it when I found it for the first time a few years ago.  Some how I strayed and have not been successful for the last few times that I tried to restart.  I'm hoping that with the crew's support here, I will be held accountable.  I've been counting calories since Nov. on this site.  It hasn't gotten me anywhere.  Obviously, I haven't been commited enough and since it doesn't give me signifcant early results I haven't gotten the thrill and encouragement.  I know SB can get me there. I'm going to the grocery store to stock up on all the items I need for phase 1.  I follow the menues on the first 4 wks that are in the book as close as possible.  I can do it again!  I wish you all continued success.

Hi Hasta - with groceries, youll be set to go!  Im in TX to - Dallas and Sarah (getfit) is also, Ft. Hood.  The threads been a big part of accountability for me so hopefully it will provide that accountability your looking for.  Also we do a voluntary weigh-in on Thursdays.

Gina, WAY to go!  You really dropped some lbs :D.  Is that 6 lbs?  I'll eventually be pursuing knee surgery like your guy but will have to wait far longer til Im at an operable weight.

Rachael, I remember visiting my aunt maybe 15 yrs back in FL and them not having fajita meat in any groceries stores.  Imagine its more nationally available now. Funny - look for use of sour cream and end up with some great fajitas.

Funny you would mention bread Sarah - so foreign to me but in the last two weeks I had the first sandwiches in a long time.  I typically buy lower priced groceries but had a coupon for a free loaf of Sara Lee bread and got their 45cal whole grain.  With some light mayo I also hadnt had in forever, it was a real treat.  Funny to look at a sandwich that way.

Also had canned tuna, light mayo with triscuits.  I never thought I could because although I love tuna, its only when its a condiment to the mayo but it turned out good.  Those cans had been in there forever but not expired.  Now planning to recheck the food lists because hitting a burn out period on food Ive been eating and theyve been limited in choice.

Good eating everyone.

*********** PHASE 2: FOODS TO EAT RARELY ***********

What is considered *rarely*? A week or a month or more?

mischief,

how often depends on the individual and specifically on factors like how it affects your cravings and impacts weight loss.

Basically these foods arent ones you should purposely eat rarely but instead if you do have them, it should be rarely and best to avoid outright.  Frequency is personal.  I would think weekly would be more occasional but and 2-3 weeks rarely.  Im not aware of a definite timeframe and people react differently, which is why I think they leave it to the discretion of the dieter based on how it affects them.

Plus certain "rarely" foods may affect you harsher then others so perhaps some you would avoid more then others.

Thanks.  I used to avoid potatoes and eat rice instead but since the first of the year and joining CC, I've been eating potato about once a week.  Logging it into my food menu still gives an A so thought it was ok.

I'm at a plateau now and looking for ways to break that.  Thanks again.

Potatos fall into that rarely catagory for me.  the last time I had one was at christmas time and it killed my stomach so havent had one since.  It didnt taste as good as I remember anyways.

Welcome mischief and hasta.  This thread is a miracle as are all the people on it.

EEEKKK!!!  My hair is gone.  I couldnt do the katie holms cut cause of my bangs... but it turned out nice.  Will post a pic soon.  Need to get some makeup LOL
