Morning ladies,

Sorry about yesterday, I really didnt mean to tease!!

Rachael, bummer about the blood pressure.  You have been doing really great  though!!  Sometimes its just hereditary and we cant do much about it other than eat right, exercise, reduce sodium and stress!!  It is a hereditary factor in my family - my nana has it as well as one of my aunts but thankfully my mum or I dont have it (not sure about my sister or 4 brothers).  I did find an article that might be of interest:  http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview? id=772622

Bee, sorry to hear about your great uncle. what part is your grandma from??  I LOVE Cadbury's chocolate!!  Have you tried Butler's chocolate or Lily O'Briens??  Yummmm!!
Morning gals.  IM praying that the high blood pressure gene in my family skips me.  The scale is finally going down a little.  WOO HOO  Im so tired of being stuck.  still doing a small workout with the ball and it gets easier each day.... so time to step it up a notch.

Tell me about it Rachel... Ive been waiting for them but still confused about who to choose.  The only thing Ive found funny the last couple of days is the city ordinance people have been out with a vengeance ripping down campaign signs that are illegally put up.  there taking photos and everything.
Rachael, understanding your mood considering but I can imagine that things dont keep you down for long so take a pity party once in a while .  Im debating going to the caucus - never been and out of the blue the freeze yesterday with yes snow - get any Sarah?  So the freeze left ohio to come here?  Im sending it home Rachael!  Its not like the snow stuck.

Had a new venture with butternut squash and was surprised how as raw it so much like a pumpkin.  I dont do tomato sauce with vegs but ClaireLane had a thing for a bit of oil, parm cheese, salt and pepper.  So easy, so good that I had the other half at breakfast.  Searching CC posts for help, caught Bee how you burned out.  I could eat enough of it to burn out :D.  Glad the cauli turned out well - two new vegs and I need all the help I can get to enjoy vegs.

Gina, hope your doing well with getting on track with company gone.  The gym can be great to for working on focus.  Good luck!

No snow jayne just lots of wind and a little rain.  sunny and blue skys today though.  Wish I could send some it to you all who have snow.  Rachel did you ever get to the gym?  Bee your food sounds so healthy I have never gotten the hang of preparing tofu its never the taste but a texture thing... always turns out slimy maybe Im buying the wrong kind
Original Post by sun123:

Bee - One head of cauliflower, all the white including stem, chopped into pieces double the size of a popped piece of popcorn. It fills a cookie baking sheet. Lightly spray with Pam or equivilant and bake at 425 degrees.

First time I did 30 minutes and loved it. Second time after 30 minutes put it in for another 15 and preferred that. It shrinks and browns. I dont know if this is the same as roasted cauliflower but if it is, sign me up!

I saw that recipe somewhere [maybe here, love reading this thread] and tried it but after 20-25 min, cauli was starting to burn and turned out soggy.  Maybe it's my oven? Or maybe I used too much lemon Pam? Or who knows but it was good and going to do it again.

Mischief, so did mine but it tasted more browned then burnt, in a good way.  Mine didnt end up 'dry' as in popcorn but it isnt as moist as cauliflower normally is, kind of in between.  I never checked to see when it was darkening - only checking it at 30min.   Perhaps a lower temp like 400 but for longer.

Was questioning it but going to the caucus for certain tonight - things are so close here in TX.  I think my squirrel has returned.  Havent figured out how to get the door to the attic open for the trap (a humane one).  I think the wall plate you just unscrew but its painted over, screws and all.  Allready have a gnawed out hole in my wall, dont need another hole if I mess up the wall.  Sound like a pathetic female LOL!

Diet going good so far!  Bring on Thursday -
roasted vegetables:  400 for 30min.  olive oil salt and pepper.  It's a sb recipe ' just easy and great.  Calls for squash, red & green bell pepper and onion.  Don't know why cauliflower wouldn't work in it.  Maybe it needs the olive oil.  It's only 2 tbs.  Maybe another factor would be geographical elevation like when you are baking cakes.

Bee, lived in Galway for nearly 2 years a while back.  Was a great city!  Not sure if your grandma lives near Clifden, but if you get a chance Clifden it a lovely little town to visit!!

Sarah, I used the following tofu recipe and it turned out great!!!  http://www.fatfreevegan.com/soy/baked.shtml

Jayne, hope that squirrel doesnt keep you awake at night amnd that you manage to catch it (humanely).  Do you know where its getting in or how its getting in??

Rachael, how is your knee these days??
Good morning!!  Thanks for the tofu advice  Ill have to start experimenting again.  have been doing great this week.  I think 155 will be a reality this month if I can keep it up
Rachael, I would say aim for a weight that you are happy with and forget what any other machine says!!  Heard this morning that Hilary won in Ohio as well as a few other primaries, so she is still in the race!!
Jayne, hope that squirrel doesnt keep you awake at night amnd that you manage to catch it (humanely).

Monday it chewed out a fist-sized hole thru the wall above my bedroom door Monday but didnt hear from afterwards.  As I prepared to leave for the TX Caucus late Monday, I discover our cats chasing it through my house.

It is very unnerving to have a wild animial loose in your house.  Thankfully animal control was still open, came out and finally caught it after.  Had to turn my living room upside down in the process.

Then 6:30 off to the TX Caucus to register because it determines 1/3 of TX Dem delegates towards final candidate choice. It couldnt start until 8pm.  Thinking I might not get a chair, brought a folding one.  No worry - theyd end up never letting us in!

Probably 1500 of us on the cold muddy lawn under weak lights registering on clipboards and backs of cars for 4hrs with volunteers.  I registered after 3hrs and waited rest in car until learning no inside caucus afterwards.  Like Woodstock without the music and drugs but plenty of frustration.  Home and dinner at 10:30pm.

Im happy to say barely anyone gave up to leave early even after 45 min waiting with no input from volunteers inside, who had my sympathy as well.
