You got snow Gina? Not down here, completely iced over but gone the minute the rain came....oh and have I mentioned before how I HATE THE WIND!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Morning all... doing well considering i just got up LOL(looks for coffee).  Im still working up the nerve to go back to phase one.  I did start using my treadmill again though and I feel great today.  I havent looked out side yet this morning but we've had ice in the last few days so I imagine that today will be no different.
Hey angie,

yeah really thick, fluffy flakes!!  The cars were covered over within an hour!!  Thought I was going to have to go home at lunch time because last year I skidded in it & I didnt want that to happen again this year!!

But the rain has washed it all away now!!

Sarah I though you were in Texas??!  Texas gets cold??  As in proper cold??
Got up later then my usual very early time but will make my 8am dentist appt (in a non-agitated state :D) and will squeeze in some holiday returns prior to 11am counseling.  This counseling with Kiki is great but the 45 min go by so quick and the copays are adding up.  Its overdue though.

Having to deal with cold, I wish we'd get a snowday.  I dont enjoy being int them but feel like a kid watching them from inside.  Gina, I came from FL to TX, both similarly located south wise and was surprised how much hotter and collder it gets here - FL winters are reasonably warm as I remember them.

Anybody doing flaxseed or vitamins? Ive a history of on great occasion and tossing them unopened after theyve expired due to unfulfilled good intentions.  The flaxssed though - 2 Tb a day, trying to think of a way to incorporate it.  While Im at it, a fiber supplement would be great too.  I feel I go too many days without well going and contipation can often be a problem.  I figure year start, some good habits to start.
Gina I do live in Texas we don't get snow that often but we do get freezing rain.  While its not doing that now ,I have ice covering the dogs water dish and frost on the ground...but it warms up during the day.  Hee hee last year it snowed on Easter morning ...weird i know.  Instead of hiding eggs we built snowman and had snowball fights.... it was fun.  Whats the definition of proper cold?LOL   its not anywhere near like European winters here if that's what you mean.  Germany froze my behind off HAHA

Good Morning,

Just got in to work and just wanted to check in. Last night I avoided the brisket. It wasn't that hard because I went to choir rehearsal and the family had eaten already when I got home. So I had grilled chicken, salad, and sugar-free jello and didn't even feel like I was missing out on what the rest of the family had eaten. I just have to say I love this SBD Thread! It helps me so much to read all the advice, experiences, and great info posted here.

I usually accomplish what I set out to do as far as school and/or career goals, but I've lacked a conscience when it comes to my appetite. This thread serves as my good angel sitting on my shoulder encouraging me to stick with the plan and reminding me of how happy I'll be with the changes I make.

Morning tiffany glad we can be of some help.  The only problem Ive found with this thread is that I cant stay away LOL.  congrats on resisting temptation.  Im going back to phase one for at least a week.  I was getting to comfortable with phase two I think and have stalled my weight loss.
Thats so mad Sarah & Jayne!!  I didnt think that Texas would get cold at all being so far south!!

Haha Sarah, yeah Germany was proper cold!!!!

Jayne, good luck with the dentist!!!

Tiffany, congrats on resisting the temptation!!
hey everyone.

I guess the weather is yucky everywhere today. Its only 20 out here in NY today. yesterday was actually worse. It would be fun to get some snow.

Sun, you can actually make pretty good pancakes from flaxseed. They are really yummy with blueberries inside and then some sugar free jam on top. I will try to find the recipe. Oh and as for the magic bullet don't waste your money. Although it was quite helpful with that dessert its completely not worth the money. I tried chopping veggies in there and it turns them to mush and leaves giant chunks of uncut veggies. When i tried making an omelette it turned into this weird grainy consistency. I say stick to your blender and save the $60! Oh also I got those Live active cheese sticks and they seem to be helping without having to use fiber pills and they are a good snack.

So proud that you overcame the brisket! your first challenge and you made it!

Oh so i weighed in this morning and I am down to 158.3 woooo 2 pounds!! i am so happy. its so nice when u see it really works. maybe i can loose 10 pounds before my boyfriends brother comes in to town!

So i have a question. Does everyone here work out? I have a serious lack of time to work out. I leave for work at 8:30 and don't get home till 9. last night i literally had to force myself to eat thats how tired i was. I also don't get a lunch break. I don't know when i can find the time or energy to work out. I'm trying to loose 30 pounds.. do you think this is possible without exercise?
Im lucky that Im a stay at home mom.  I work hard but in a different way.  Ive started working out again on the tread mill and am thinking about trying some yoga.  Glad I didnt buy a magic bullet thing.  I did receive an ultimate chopper though and I love it.  It chops fine but have to be careful not to puree stuff like the bullet thing.  It takes practice HAHA.  I even used it to grind anise seeds into powder.  makes good strawberry buttermilk ice to YUMMY.  first day on phase one and the carb addict in me is screaming  I think its mostly mental though.
Second Jenna on that Tiffany - way to go, your going to rock phase1!  Dont know if its been mentioned but we had a prev SB thread that started in Aug just a question of who was doing it and it continued til we opened this one.  What a difference it has made for my accountability.  That plus the weekly weigh in here :D.  It should be fun looking back when you started here and how far you've come down the road.

That 20degree NY puts thing in perspective here. Im with Angie - wind is my downfall, no tolerance.  SO glad for the bullet review if I ever get tempted must remember that!  I could do the pancakes not for breakfast with carb reaction but a fun lunch for sure.  My only resistance is the recipe aspect.  I was thinking about something to even stir it into.

Thought of you Sarah about the dentist telling me how it can get pricier with putting off the dentist which is what I did too.  Surprised they got my teeth fairly shiny white.  Looking at a root canal for a 3 tooth bridge or none for a 4 tooth but even with extra cost, looking to save 3rd tooth (she say before mailed estimates arrive).  Hoping there not too far off but not naive about dental costs.  Good luck with phase1 - imagining you right back at 160 soon.

::pretends shes in one of Gina's fluffy snowfalls::
Pitstop before returns and counseling - talk about not being able to stay away :D :D
BTW Jen just started walking yesterday with friend.  Looking to make distance progress with less stops.  Minimal right now but it did involve pushing myself.
Good morning everyone!

I'm so jealous of all the people with snow and real weather.  We in southern California are supposedly bracing for a rain storm, but no luck yet.

I finished my second day of phase 1 yesterday and it was great!  I haven't had to adjust my carbs yet (which I'll do if I get too tired to exercise or run).  I ran an 8 miler today and was a little slow but I'm not sure if that's low carbs or recovering from being sick.

Jenn, I tried your dessert recipe last night.  So good!

Ohi045- Sorry that your day had to start that way.  I hope that you're able to get everything cleaned up and that your day gets a lot better from there.
Ohio45...That sounds horrible maybe you should rent one of those things that sucks up water? I hope it all gets fixed with little stress.

irothell, congrats on making it through day 2! Have you weighed your self yet? yay I'm so excited you tried my dessert and liked it! I'm trying to think of other desserts.

oh and Sun, those pancakes are carb free!! well other then the fruit that is. Its made with just flaxseed, egg whites and a little backing powder. then some splenda cinnamon and vanilla extract.

Hi all, I've been reading about everyone's adventures with brisket and running and snow and dentists and soap suds.  We are not a boring group!

Here in Panama of course we never have winter weather.  They call the rainy season "winter" and it just ended, so it will probably not rain until April.  Great for drying laundry!

I started SB Wednesday, so I guess that will be my weigh-in day.  I'll let everyone know.  Yesterday we got a Christmas package from my mom that had something called Oreo Cakesters in it, like a little snack cake.  They tried to send me some for my birthday but they were stolen; some mail worker along the way was hungry, I guess.  Anyway, so I just chalked it up to a Christmas treat from home and ate them and started over today.

I have already mentally prepared that I might not lose as fast because there will be situations that I have to eat with the Panamanians, which means my plate will usually include rice AND potatoes!  But it would be rude of me to not eat; like their food is not good enough for me the American.  So I have planned on occasions like that to just eat whatever is served and start over the next day and just do the best I can.

I'm excited to get to next week's weigh in and see results!

Oh yes, I am taking a multivitamin; One a Day weight smart (store brand) that I got from the states.  It may be mental but I feel like I have more energy when I take it.

Also, had a yummy breakfast this morning; I wrapped up my bacon with some tomato and mayo in a lettuce leaf.  SB BLT!

Well ladies, did nothing today, the weather was the miserable.  Rain and wind so hard that it started to come under the front door (now that is hard wind/rain). Basically since I live out in the country, the roads get flooded easily, so another deterrant.

But not to worry, its supposed to stay dry tomorrow to get back on track at the gym.

Irothell, what part of So. Cal? Oringially from San Diego myself, just curious you know I see things pop up from back home (hmm can I say that maybe I am a bit homesick?)

Also, have set another goal for myself ladies to try and help me keep on track, now I know this is a stretch (but I can walk it!) Cork City Marathon in June....if I can't get to that one the Dublin one in Oct. so now I have to train to lose weight no matter what. I feel if I can do this then I can do anything when it comes to my weight....unfortunately the confirmation I don't think is enough incentive LOL....

Jenna- No lunch break? Or do you just not take one? I had a hectic work schedule back in the States, but I forced myself to go to the gym at lunch and you it actually did make the afternoon more energectic...Can you try that?

Jayne, I am so proud of you with the walking...like I have said you are my weight loss motivation.

Ohio, I made that mistake one before.....I just had to clean up the suds and you have the run another cycle of suds after you cleaned that one up....well at least that is what happened to me...sorry I don't have a quick fix for you!

Hope everyone's days is going well.

Hey rachel when I read about to soap thing my eyes shifted to the new shop vac that I got for christmas and thought * darn she could use that right about now* Sorry I dont live closer to help.  good luck cleaning it up hopefully it wont  take you to long.

Lori I dont think the treat will mess you up to much.  If I mess up I just have to extra cautious for the rest of the day and watch for cravings.

Jenn recipe sounds good**give it up and back away*LOL

Jayne way to go with the walking  You know that movie Finding nemo...when Im walking The tune that dori sings about just keep swimming enters my mind...Just keep walking ...just keep walking.  MAkes me laugh..I know to much disney in my house.

Ingrid Im envious of the 8 miles you put in... where do you get the energy.  I choke at just going uphill for 1 mile.  WOW  GREAT!!!!
