what is the difference between snow peas and regular peas?  one is ok and the other says they should be avoided......????thanks D

Hi Bigdee!
Regular peas should only be avoided phase1 but in phase2 they are a food to reintroduce versus the phase2's that should be eaten rarely.  A cup of peas has twice the carbs and calories of a cup of snow peas. I notice that peas also have twice the fiber which is why they probably arent restricted phase2 like a few other carb vegs.

Thanks everyone about your comments on my pic update.  At first I was thinking my loss wasnt as noticeable because my dresses are loose but then I thought so if I gained back the 130 lbs it wouldnt be as noticeable?  That was my denial when I was gaining the weight :P.
Gina, congrats on your loss this week - yeah!  Hope the training is going well.

Rachael, good to hear your there safe and those cakes sound de-lovely!  Hope you get some R&R to better enjoy the rest of your stay.

Sue, every step has been on SBD since June 2007.  Sorry your weight hasnt updated yet and thinking it should kick in soon!

Sarah, I cant help but imagine how bizarre it would have looked to witness you trampoline take off like that -hopefully the replacement parts arent too costly.  I cracked the pitcher part of a blender and the replacement was almost as costly as the whole thing eventhough its just plastic versus the motor base.

thats okay rachel.... I had a cheat day today  I think its stress eating and an obsene amount of calories and no workout will add up.

To keep peace were paying half of there deductible.  I dont like it but I keep telling myself Im doing the right thing.  God forbid a tornado hits my house and slings peices of it at other peoples houses and damages them.  I wont be able to be nice then cause Ill be broke and homeless.  The crazy thing about this is I wouldnt expect them to pay me for it if it had happened to me.  I think when you have property thats the risk you take by owning it and thats why you have insurance.  I have savings for just this sort of thing so Im prepared.  I guess some people dont think like I do.  All right vent is done I really need to stop thinking about cause it gets me worked up.

Yeah....I agree. Harping on it is probably not a good idea especially if it causes you to eat too much. LOL! Okay....it is only 7:35 on Friday and this is supposed to be my first weekend on SBD. It feels like I have been on it FOREVER already and really could go for a treat. I went out for lunch today and had a steak spinach salad and it was really nice but I am dying for CRUNCH!!! I know I always, always struggle on weekends and when I'm at home. And to make matters worse, I haven't finished my taxes :( so I can't even get out and get my mind off of it. I have to do that and about 3 other people's returns b4 the weekend is done. Luckily the 3 other people have very simple returns. Mine is more complicated this year. Anyway, you will know if I didnt make it, if I am back on the main forum searching for yet another way to lose this weight....LOL.

Decided to plan a vacation soon to Florida. Guess you guys got me thinking about it. :) Trying to coordinate with my kiddies cause they are both semi-grown and both have school and work to deal with.

Oh yeah....I never followed up with you guys.....the beans seem to working very well !!! SmileCool

You can stay even if your not doing South beach.  Its not a requirement.  we are supportive of everyone here...unless you plan to eat nothing but grapefruit and pickles to lose weight then I would politely tell you your crazy.... LOL just kidding around.  Sugar free jello helps with the missed fruit.  I should be eating it again HAHA!  Glad to hear the beans are working!
Thats one nice thing about Thursday weighins Sue- gives you time from the occasional oops weekend.  Reinforcing Sarah, we're a funny the thread: The SB Thread, SB being optional :D.

Now with a zillion dinners, still trying not to eat them because they are the perfect back up.  Also postponing grocery shopping to put a slowdown on spending and happy on in the first group getting the goverment supplemental checks being sent due to my SS# and having used direct deposit.  Less then a month away!

Didnt hear the timer this afternoon and happy to learn burnt popcorn cauliflower does NOT smell as bad as burnt popcorn.  BTW Bee, its happened - Ive lost the thrill for spaghetti squash.  Its fine but the infatuation is in check.  ::Fears I will eventually burn out on every healthy food LOL::.  That was very big of you Sarah, hope they appreciate it since you were innocent in it all.
They definitely got closer to the ground and I liked that, kind of like the outfit that is becomes loose on you.  With my recent sorting I pulled the ones that were the right length from the ones the fit but are too long.  I used all the same hangers and the right lengths sit an inch above the floor so Ive used this as a guide for others.  Otherwise it was hard on your own to get the length right.

Mango, my fav fruit, and cake sound amazing!  Living in FL, the sun burned were always visitors or tourist because they hadnt built up their base tan.  The golf sounds like fun and though not the cals of biking, youre on vacation :D!

New fav breakfast - cottage cheese, splenda and pumpkin pie spice.  Taste like dessert for breakfast but today when I ran out of equal, went to sweet & low but it was not as good.  Dont know if its because its quite old, not as sweet or both but plan to replace with the blue packets.

ok heres another question.. HOMEMADE  SOUP..... using JUST THE INGRDIENTS THAT ARE PERMITTed (greens/celery/chicken stock) on phase one....but am i limited to the amount to eat....because ive been eating it for all my meals today...ohhh and relish from the jar...is this allowed to add to tuna salad?  thanks D

Im going to say eat as much as you want.....at least till your full.  Its Veggie soup.    As for the relish  check the label to see if theirs any added sugar.  I dont think a tblsp will hurt honestly...... it depends on how your body reacts to sugar.  WELCOME BTW!

Jayne I cant do sweet and low... gives me terrible stomach ache.  Ive been adding pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice to my oatmeal in the mornings.  YUMMO.  I wish I could like cottage cheese Ive tried and tried I just cant like it LOL.  Its either eggs or oatmeal for breakfast.  I feel much better today and my eating is definatly better.
Those frozen south beach meals are REALLY good. My fav is the chicken caprise. Only 240 cal and very filling. :)
I agree Kay - they make me suspicious theyre so good LOL!  I love the Caprese Chicken and mix it with the brocolli plus more brocolli - weird because I dont like vegs with tomato sauce.  I also dont like meatloaf but got the SB dinner one as an alternative and strangely its the best meatloaf Ive had.  I was trying to figure out why but something about the flavoring of the meat. Savory Beef dinner though will always be tops.

Funny Ive not yet gotten oatmeal, you hear so much about it at CC and I know the oat/ health benefit.  Guess Im untrusting of myself around cereals still.

I agree bigdee with the soup.  Relish might not be SB phase1 friendly because of the sweetner but a bit in tuna seems harmless enough and I agree with Sarah not to be concerned on soup quantity.
Good morning everyone.  mmmm cake....*goes back to her omelet with fatfree cheese and salsa*
Cake- flour, eggs, milk, thats breakfast but me too having eggs but with black beans.

Off to see an old girlfriend Ive known since our daughter met 11 yrs ago.  She hadnt seen me in a while when she visited last summer some 80 lbs ago so it will be nice if she notices (or remembers:D).

That dress sounds unforgiving (straight and knit) - how wonderful and satisfying that must be to be able to wear it Rachael.  I remember losing weight years ago to visit out-of-state family and upon arriving buying many diet TV dinners.  When I left for home, they were all still in their freezer so props to you for even thinking about your weight while there and not depriving yourself on your trip.

So true about the relish too Rachael - denying desired modifications to a diet makes it risky for abandonment.  Heres to a eating style we can live with!

Wow, it is busy in here :)

Sun, you lasted a long time with the spaghetti squash, haha. I'm still avoiding it, but I am currently obsessed with grilling/steaming asparagus. I have never eaten asparagus in my life and now I can't stop.

I have finals next week, so from today on, I am in full study mode. Hopefully I can force myself to work out so I can stay with my challenge. Yesterday I made vegan cupcakes (cookies and cream and banana split) for a party at my sister-in-law's. Luckily, we could only stay for a minute, so I couldn't eat any more of them (I had to taste test them before I brought them over).

It's snowing here! My husband and I are planning our move out of Michigan, probably in two years when I finish my second bachelor's at U of M. I'm sick of this crappy weather and the even crappier economy.
