Sarah - what a pain about your scale. So I wont be alone Thrusday going elsewhere to weigh-in :D? Rachael - with all that golf yesterday, wondering how those calves are treating you since Saturday. You must be building a glowing FL tan by now!
Finally figured a way to get thru those canned spinach and asparagus which Im not fond of - tossing in morning eggs. Granted Im not overly fond of eggs either but have them for breakfast and its out of the way. I sent off my tax return before getting a W2 and had to send back part of my refund but they sent a letter saying I owed more. I turbotax it though and theyre very reliable. Turns out Turbo was right and spent this morning on the phone with IRS with them agreeing but I have to still put it in writing (their error :/). So glad I didnt just take their word for it - that would have been $300+. Now what to spend that on :P.
Argh - my pears all ripened altogether. Pear time!
The warm is upon us, it seems. Getting ready to plant the table fans in the different rooms - without Kiki here, will better be able to control the AC bill. No complaining though - I know the harshness thats ahead and even popped open windows today.
Rachael, I actually meant to type subway - not sunway! Hope your hols are going well!!
Trying to get back on the wagon at the moment, but I guess I was feeling sorry for myself - so time to end the pity party!! Also feeling a little constipated - so hoping that the veggies will get me moving!! (sorry - TMI)
How is everyone else doing?
I am thinking about getting on the South Beach Diet. Is it hard to stick to? Is everyone having lots of success? Would really appreciate some feedback from you guys if poss. Thanks Stephie
Sarah, I think Im cycling with you - started yesterday but should be fine Thursday because my weighin problems have been during the days immediately before and sometimes the day I start. Are you getting much heat in Ft Hood? My house went up to 82 degrees but the fans propped right in front of my desk now.
Good job with the ice cream Rachael - hunger intact can be SO helpful. Have you been anywhere near the beaches or are you mostly in the central Orlando area?
Your so low on weight Gina cant imagine to much damage off the wagon but wishing you well getting back on and hopefully that will get things 'moving' for digestion!
Thanks sun, I think I am going to start tomorrow although I am a bit worried I will struggle with having such a savory breakfast. I have to start work really early so usually scoff down a quick bowl of cereal. Is there anything you can suggest that would be quick and easy? Would fat/sugar free yogurt with cinnamon and some v8 be enough? Some nuts for snack. Tuna salad for lunch and Chicken/salmon with veg for dinner.
Does that sound ok to you or should I do something different?
Thanks for the help!
Today I was on the search for Kraft SF Handi Pack puddings because their lower cal (45) then Snack Packs (60-70) and taste great. Walmart, whom I love, stopped carrying them. Turns out Kroger has them so going there I decided for a treat - steamed chinese chicken dumplings made on site. Had them when Kiki worked there over the holidays and since its a bit of a drive, decided to make the exception. Calorie wise I should be fine. Best of all, it didnt blow up into a continued off course thing.
Off for some mini trips to pick up this and that (no more dumplings though :P).
Enjoy the snorkling!!
Hope everyone else is doing well!!
Appetizers can be the tastiest things on menus but what you dont burn in FL Rachael, youve always comeback to drop off. Your still doing stellar managing it now too, and fudge sounds delightful! I want to hear ALL about the gulf coast - I came to TX after 10yrs in St. Petersburg area! OK - so I might get a bit jealous but Im still all ears.
Would like to get off the roller coaster losses with a normal one tomorrow, particularly since last week was a big loss and suspecting a tiny one tomorrow. Open to any loss though :P.
Ok then, as I am inexperienced at this - how does this look today- for Phase 1
Breakfast - 1 poached egg with a tomato
Snack - low fat cheese shape and 7 almonds
Lunch - Tuna salad (Tin of tuna, spinach, cucumber, celery, mayonaisse, with a few kidney beans some olive oil and lemon juice to dress). Glass of lowfat unsweeted soya milk
Snack - Although I'm not hungry at the moment, completely stuffed actually! If I want it - 8 almonds and some celery
Dinner will be - Salmon fillet with broccoli, spinach and onions. Lowfat, plain soya yogurt.
What do you think?
Hey ladies- I haven't posted in a VERY long time, but I wanted to share that I am still following South Beach and I've lost about 15lbs since Jan. I probably have another 10-13 before I will be satisfied, but as long as I stay away from sugars, alcohol and bad carbs I know I will keep shrinking.
If I did a better job of avoiding alcohol, I probably would've lost more (I'm a 20something bartender).
For those of you who just started: it really works. I am a first time serious dieter and I am very happy with my results (not to mention the delicious recipes I am allowed to make!) Try it and stick with it, it really is worth it.
The thing that suprised me most is how much better I felt overall by making better food choices. It took me by suprise actaully. Before, if I was having a bad day, I would try to feel better by treating myself to white pizza or creamy pastas. I would enjoy it, but just feel full and lethargic afterwards -now, on a "bad day", I select something delicious & SB approved like grilled chicken and veggies and it often turns my day around, no joke. I never would've believed it until I felt it.
Food is amazing.
Those steamed potstickers yesterday for lunch backfired - by 3pm I was hungrier for more then a snack but I behaved! Granted Im pretty sensitive to carbs and dont have such issues with whole grain bread. Perhaps if it hadnt been just that for lunch I'd have fared better but Im cool calorie wise and thinking good thoughts for tomorrows scale.
Finally tonight I can move my finger - got a nasty steam burn from the microwave. I well know the evils of steam and saren wrap but the wrap slipped as I was removing a dinner from the micro and Im just now getting over my pity party.
Hay there!
So I did my first day!! No sugar, no carbs and no forbidden foods on phase 1! I am so proud of myself. My boyfriend is still convinced that I wont be able to do it so it is making me even more determined. I stuck to the menu I told you lot yesterday and surprisingly wasn't that hungry - how wierd? I also went for a really long run and did some pilates and guess what... Down 2Ib today! My tummy definitely looks flatter aswell. Am I just imagining it or is this working already?
Breakfast was a scrambled egg with a tomato and a small handful of spinach this morning. Mid morning snack will be low fat cheese round and 8 almonds. Lunch will either be turkey or tuna salad. Snack - 7 almonds and celery and Dinner will probably be chicken with veg. Plus some yogurt.
Is that still ok?
Shouldnt I be sleeping? All wired tonight for some reason.
Is it a fact that garlic helps with weight loss?
It is not a fact that garlic helps with weight loss; no studies have looked at garlic and weight loss in humans. One small study on... Read more
