Hey everyone. I really need to start checking in every day like I used to it helped so much. I havent been logging in my food and what kind of diet am I on by eating 6 donuts through out the morning for breakfast. I have fallen and Im having such a hard time getting back on. Ive fallen back to old habits and am gaining again. Time to dust off my treadmill and get it out of the corner.
Velvet - missed seeing your around! Im so happy for you and the improvements youve noted with walking!!
I know the 'stopping' thing well - used to do it at my old job form the parking lot to my desk. I thought the weightloss on its own would take care of it for me but it was continued walking that made the difference. Believe me - I KNOW how much it means to be able to get around and couldnt be happier for you - way to go! Also wishing you patience as you adjust to your new calorie allotments.
inlove, as ozma pointed out, the fiber is a good thing to return to and you can control how gradually you introduce the other phase2 food options but the carbs - healthy will open up many eating options and you wont be jumping into them because of the gradual introduction.

LOL sarah - donuts can be dangerous to have around. Want to come pick you up but know you can turn this around - Ive seen you do it. Remember how willing recent lbs are to come off when we go after them soon so wishing you will power!
Sun, thanks for all of your tips and encouragement!!! I will keep you updated on my status and continue to visit this form daily to make sure I stay on track. As of today, I'm still only 137 lbs : ( I'm was really hoping to see 135 lbs by Friday. It's still my TOM, so I'm really hoping that is why I haven't lost anything so far this week. I also started eating Atkins bars for breakfast...they have 2 net carbs. I really like them though. So I'm hoping it's my TOM that's messing me up...not the bars. What do you think?? I also haven't added ANY gym time yet as I have mega busy...I'm moving one week from today and we have been packing. BUT, with the exception of the super big & heavy furniture, we're (me & hubby) are moving everything ourselves from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment. So next week I'll get a lot of exercise : ) I know that the book say you can lose weight with the diet alone...but has anyone else notices a big difference when they added cardio and weights?? Thanks everyone!! xoxo

Welcome, welcome inlove and Im inlove with your avatar!
Thank you : ) He's my baby too!! He's a 4 year old Tuxedo cat...you can't see the white all that well in the photo. Is your cat male or female?? We almost lost our kitty this weekend and ended up spending $1500 (yes, in one weekend) to save him! He's worth it though : )

4lbs is definitely on track. You are supposed to lose between 8-13lbs in the first two weeks. I wouldn't recommend staying on phase 1 unless you have a lot of weight to lose because you are in effect cutting out a lot of your daily fiber which can wreak havoc on your digestive system.
I got gassy in phase 2, but it goes away. I have been using beano to help me out with that and it has been working quite well.
Thanks for the tip on the beano. And yeah, I definitely don't want to mess up my digestive system anymore than I already think I have during week 1. Maybe Phase II won't be so scary after all!!
ICE: did you notice a difference when you stayed on Phase I for the 3rd week??
Yea, the extra week made a huge difference for me... the first time around (about 3 years ago), I had about 30+ lbs to lose, and at the end of the second week, I was still at 6lbs (lost 5lbs the first week). At the end of the third week, I'd lost about 10lbs total.
To help with the fiber situation, I had TONs of broccoli, romaine lettuce, anything that was allowed on phase 1 that had fiber. To be honest, I never had any problems on phase 1, I was regular the whole time; but Ozma has a point. If you only have a little bit of weight to lose, I would not recommended extending phase 1.
This time around, I had the same problem (only lost 5lbs at the end of the second week), so I stayed on for an extra week. I don't know if it's working cause I haven't weighed since (trying not to be too dependent on the scale), but I'll keep you posted...
Lost another pound this week! yay! Down to 136 at last. =)
Still have 11 more to go, but so far so good.
Thats great Ozma! Cant imagine being so close to my final goal. I dont know what my scale is doing LOL. Im up since my 253 but the walking is still daily and the calories are good so waiting it out. Didnt realize you were on SB now icequeen but looking forward to hearing from you and continued luck going forward!
In love, 'my' cats a girl. My daughters cat but it took to me and she left it here when moving to her dads. Sorry to hear about your cat scare this weekend and knowing your feeling that - wow, that is serious vet bill! Gigi is very feisty and follows me from room to room like a dog. She had an infection when we got her so she was kept from the others in my bathroom and guess thats how the she felt adopted by me eventhough I paid her no attention although I do now.
I actually am wondering why the exercise isnt pushing my weightloss as I'd expected but know its still good to do, feeling strength in my legs and suspecting eventually it will show up.
Last night, I made egg drop soup that was all kinds of awecome. Not one to cook, I could handle this. A can of chicken broth (10cal), an egg (80cal) and 1/2 Tb cornstarch (18cal) and a splash of soy sauce (the littlest bit goes a long way with me). Surprising how filling it was!
Still 137 lbs this morning : ( DH's scale says I GAINED .8 lbs!! I don't like his scale... I'm really hoping to lose 2 more lbs this week still. If not, I think I'm going to continue Phase I for another week or so. I'm having the worst TOM of my life, so hopefully that's my problem. Otherwise it's the Atkins bars that I'm eating. I hope I didn't screw everything up with them...
Sun, your eggdrop soup sounds delicious! What do you do with the egg though?? I'm glad that your cat is a girl...she shouldn't have the problem that my cat had...it's mostly a male cat issue.
Okay well sorry I don't have anything uplifting or exciting this morning. I hope everyone has a great day!!
Its crazy easy - mix the cornstarch with a bit of the broth. Scrambled the raw egg and drizzled it into the boiling remaining broth, stirring in circles the whole time to make the 'strands'. Then mix in cornstarch liquid and add some drops of soy. Boiled 'a while' - I figured the cornstarch needed to be heated but might not be necessary. I was surprised how filling it ends up being for what it is.
After my earlier 153, it disappearred and I saw numbers high as 159 which is why I said my flucuations have been nuts. Recently Thursdays conveniently have been lucky for me though. 155.2 today so will work with that
.
Inlove, the silver lining for me of TOM was anticipating afterwards my weighin. Hoping that 2lb loss is waiting for you and stay strong!
Any other weigh-ins today?
Thanks Sun! I started exercising and counting calories in mid-September, then realized that if I changed a few things here and there, I'd pretty much be back on SB, so I went on phase 1 at the end of September. Been on phase 2 for a week now, I haven't weighed so I don't know if I've lost. My husband says he sees a difference in my legs, and I definitely feel the difference in my clothes, hoping to get down to 125...
Congrats on your lost, Ozma.
Inlove, you might wanna try the SB bars, they have tons of new products. I bought the SB Sweet Creations Roasted Peanut bar yesterday, and it was really good... Hopefully, you'll see a change soon.
good morning!!
inlove, your kitty is adorable! I have two female black cats that are sisters. They're like my kids. Jayne, one of them follows me around the house like a little dog. It's so funny your cat does that too. I thought Stella was the only one, as cats aren't really known for that sort of thing. It's really cute though.
Well, I am still at 165 and getting really frustrated about it. I haven't lost any weight in I think 2 weeks. I keep telling myself it will change. Maybe I have to be stricter with myself though. I find myself sneaking little "bites" of the carby food Rob eats. He's like the carb king!! Potaoes with Bfast, bread at lunch, pasta, rice potatoes at dinner, cookies, cake, sugar, pie...and NONE of it is whole grain. yet, he's in great shape. 17% bf. I hate men sometimes! :)
So, I guess that's it. No more "bites" for me. That may be my undoing. I wouldn't think it should matter, but maybe it does.
Congrats to everyone on their progress. Have a good day!
Ice, how cool to feel it in your clothes. Mine are so big, getting loose is not something I notice as time goes since they already are loose. Ive got a small dress Im aiming for though.
Briana, sorry to here your scales not moving but I think you have something there with the eliminating the 'bites'. Men seem to lose so quickly. On another thread there were only a few guys participating and they were losing so much quicker - not to whine but I couldnt ignore what I was seeing. Funny with three of us sharing black cats LOL.
Hello all-
Thursday weigh in found me finally back in "one-der land!!" at 198.5. Down another 1.5lbs, which amazes me being that I am still laid up with my bum leg from the accident. I find it so hard to believe that I can lay around on my behind watching TV and still loose weight, when on other programs I could work my tail off and not loose a thing!!!
So, the diet is going OK, but everything else is still a mess. The damaged tissue in my leg started to get infected last week and I almost found myself admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics, but thankfully, the oral antibiotics seem to be working so far. However, my leg is continuing to swell and I have softball sized pocket of fluid on my calf. The Doc says that if that has not started to go down by next Tuesday (which will be 4 weeks since the accident) she will have to send me for a surgical consult. I am praying hard that that doesn't happen, so if any of my new beach friends would like to think a good thought or say a prayer for me it would certainly be appreciated!! All I need is to be laid up unable to do anything for another 4-6 weeks!!
Have a great week everyone!!
STILL 137!!! Grrr....
Ice, I'm going to looks for those bars this weekend. Thanks for the tip! : )
Briana, it's always nice to see cat lovers : ) And you know, I know you're not happy that you haven't lost weight in the last 2 weeks...but even with your little "bites" you haven't gained weight - I think that's awesome!! All I have to do *think* about bread and I'm up 2 lbs : ) So keep up the good work!
Doodley, I'm so inspired by you!! You're nearly in the hospital with an infected leg...but you're still focused on your weight AND you're losing 1.5 lbs! I don't know if you're crazy or awesome...let's go with awesome today : )
Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
So, I've resolved to have no more "bites" of Robs food. I've gained a lot of weight since we've been together, and I suspect it's because he's always feeding me!!! Cute and lovey, but damn!
Inlove, you're right...at least I haven't GAINED. And I think if I keep on track, there's no reason for the weight NOT to come off, right? I did have a meatball sandwich today (no bread) and now I am really sleepy!! I think there may have either been too many bread crumbs in the meatballs or too much sugar in the sauce. Oh well, live and learn. I'm sure I'll notice a stall for this though.
I went to the Dr. today and my blood pressure was 90/60 which is really good!! My mom has horribly high blood pressure and so did her dad, so I'm glad mine is going down. Last time I was at the Dr. it was 120/80, which used to be "normal" but is now considered borderline hypertensive. So yay for me!! Also, the scale read 10 lbs lighter than when I last saw her, which was 09/02/08.
Doodley, you truly are awesome. Keep it up, your body will definitely thank you for it - just keeping your nutrition in line will help your body heal faster.
lots of new ppl :)
any of the old group post lately?
Hi oh155 - I was here from day two I believe in the first thread June 07 and Sarah (getfitgirl). Boy did a get a hunger craziness last night. Salmon sounds so good - I keep watching but its running costly lately.
Briana, I dont know how the numbers work but that seems like a dramatic change. For some reason, at my highest Ive run low blood pressure. I do wonder about my cholesterol as I eat SO many eggs - not so much concerned from what Ive read of how it works (and my bad cholesterol has run low) but curious.
Inlove, Im coming over there and kicking your scale :P. Dooley - I love one-derland - made a little sign and taped it to the wall in front of my scale as a reminder. You certainly are an inspiration of how the diet can be managed when dealing with such problems. Here's hoping that swelling drops and you can skip the surg dr.
Last night, I got the hunger from hell. Hunger has not been an issue for me so this was weird. I actually feel its a TOM thing because my period has always been last week of the month before switching to mid month and sometimes switching but did get it earlier and dont have it now so not sure what thats about. Thankfully only safe things in the house because plenty of moments were I was binge risky - dont know what that was about except Im going to something today Im stressed about (social work party).
sun, whats your weight down to now?
