"Well, the city plows push some snow there, too!"
UGH! That was this guy's justification for buring us in snow AGAIN! I woke up, brushed my teeth, and heard that damned ruckus of a bull dozer they've got so I casually looked outside to make sure I still had a sidewalk.
NOPE! He buried us. Took all of the snow from the marina parking lot, the gigantic parking lot, and stuck it on the sidewalk and on the already growing snow mounds in front of the two houses. You know, I'd like to be able to see out my window and not have to look at a bunch of dirty snow, damned it.
I grabbed my snow boots, threw on a sweater, and marched over to talk to the guy. I asked him to please stop pushing his snow onto my lawn and in front of my house, very politely, no inkling that I was upset. And in a dumbfounded voice he said, "Well when the city plows do the street it gets pushed up there anyway."
Yeah, but it only gets pushed up there a little bit because it's whatever spills over the sides of the plow and that's a lot easier to shovel than your gigantic mounds of snow! I'm a little lady. I work in a hospital and can't call off because you decided you wanted to snow me in, I've got to find a way to fight through that stuff and get to work.
"Well, I didn't think you'd mind. I talk to your neighbor all the time, she's such a sweet lady."
But she's gone for the winter and who do you think would have to dig her out anyway? Her friendly neighbors next door with some youth and a shovel. Besides, her family still visits that house and stays there when they pass through the area so we've got to shovel it out anyway.
Finally he reluctantly said he wouldn't push it onto the lawns or in front of the drive way anymore, and even said he'd remove the pile he stuck on our sidewalk when he was done plowing his parking lot. I thanked him and took my cold butt inside.
What I want to know now, is not what's going through his head thinking he can put his snow wherever he damned well pleases, but why he's plowing out the entire parking lot and not just where the employees park 'cause who in their right damned mind is going to go to a marina when there's a foot and a half of snow outside and three inches of ice on the water anyway!!?!!

My bet: It will happen again.
Time to call in the calvary (i.e. your town gov't or police)
Yeah, my city, who doesn't even plow side streets because they can't afford it anymore and only gives a rats ass about snow removal on city property. I'll see some form of authority after the snow melts.
If it happens again I've got a few shovels, a sled, and a whole lot of rage.
now thats just rude to pile snow if front of someones driveway and yard. That person isnt too brilliant. Of course you would mind, you need to get out of your driveway to go to work. jerk.
I'm sorry this happened to you, but I must ad that I feel a little sorry for people who have to plow snow. I guess I don't understand this particular situation. Is he moving the snow from the marina to wherever he feels convenient? (I.E. Your house?)
My dad works for a state college and he has to work 16 hour shifts. Literally, he works for 16 hours. They put him in a hotel for 4 hours then he goes back to work for 16 more hours. It's ridiculous and he admits that he's really not able to think at a certain point and people could get hurt. I know he's done some really regrettable things like taken out rear-view mirrors and sidewalk paraphernalia because of this. (Also, they aren't really trained to operate these machines. They're just forced to do it and have to learn it as they go along. It's pretty bad.)
Now, I'm sure my dad wouldn't pile snow right in someone's driveway, but at the same time, this guy might be overworked? And anyway, I'm sure he wasn't just plowing the marina for fun. Someone told him to do.
... He owns the marina. The dude that plows it owns the marina and plows it with his nifty little bulldozer that he also keeps me awake at all hours of the day with during the summer. I ignore that aspect 'cause he's got to do his job, but he can push his snow from his marina onto the sides of his marina where nobody parks..
Question: Why can't he just dump it in the ocean...? O_o
Snow, snow, snow, yeah its no fun when something like that happens. A week or two ago I was going to the book buy back at the community college cause I still had a few books that I'd never gotten around to selling. I was always busy on book buy dates or forgot about them. Anyways I finally remebered (probably becasue I needed the money to buy books at the college I'd transfered to) It had snowed a ton and we'd shoveled our driveway of course so we had a clean driveway with rather largish snow piles on either side. So I get to the end of the driveway and there this big pickup truck there with a snow plow on it. I gently tap my horn to alert the guys in it that they were blocking my driveway and I needed out. One of them jumped out and came over and told me they were broken down. Just perfectly totally blocking my driveway but they were off the road. So my only option was to drive thru the piles. I figured if I got stuck those guys could push me out since it would kind of be their fault anyway. I backed up, got some speed going and plowed thru just far enough to get my front tires on the road which was enough to pull me thru the rest of the pile. I was a little ticked off at them though but not as ticked off as I am at Al Gore the inventor of the stupidest hoax ever, global warming. The temperature at my house is an even 0 farenheit. Its not like I live in Alaska either.
