For my stomach, (if anyone knows me as a poster SLIGHTLY i have bigggg stomach problems) doctors have been considering giving me Wellbutrin for the nerve endings in the stomach and intestines - does anyone have any feelings one way or the other about Wellbutrin and is it true that it helps weight loss?
I am currently on wellbutrin XL and it comes in generic too! It does not cause wt gain and the first month I was on it I lost 12lbs in one week which is insane, but after that my body got use to it. I don't know if it helps with stomach, but it is suppose to help with anxiety and depression. I take other things for anxiety.
I don't know about stomach issues. But, I took it as a smoking cessation product years ago. It is also an anti-depressent and an appetite suppressent.
I don't think it helps me lose weight, but it doesn't increase my appetite like other anit-depressants did. I haven't had any significant side effects from it (I was a little jittery the first week I was on it but that wore off) but YMMV.
WHY do all the websites say not to take this drug if you have a history of anorexia or bulimia?
that's what I'm thinking...

My therapist says because Wellbutrin causes heart arrythmia and if someone has already damaged their heart through anorexia/bulimia it can cause further heart damage and heart attacks.
