werid things are happening
something as come to my knowledge that i can pretty much maintain on about 3000cals at 5ft4 110, and no this is not an estimate, i have been consciously counting for a month now since may the 12th. the thing is i don't really workout religious just every now and again when i am bothered. 30mins on my treadmill thing and yoga sometimes pilates, but the treadmill says i only burn 200cals, i suppose I'm a lot more active then i thought. so how the hell can i maintain on 3000cals then? if I'm not a gym junkie? it just doesn't make sense.
in the past i didn't really use to calorie count, but i would yo-yo cals unconscious demanding on how hunger i felt but i suspose we all do that. i came on this website mainly for health advice from the experts on the site because i wanted to change my eating habits from downing lots of junk to lots of fruit and veg. my highest weight was 115 and lowest was 100lbs. i'm not gonna say i have a fast metblosim cause i don't beleive in it. so whats going on? and my thyroid is normal. and i have noticed when i don't eat like alot of fats i feel really tired. like i have been eating 200grams of mixed fruit and nut chocalte a day since last week plus 3eggs everyday. like seriously my weight hasn't moved and i weigh myself once every week.
sorry about the bad spelling.
Do you have much muscle mass? Do you fidget a lot? Are you sure you're not overestimating your calories?
I honestly don't know. I have met other people that maintain on high calorie ranges, but I couldn't tell you why : )
I'm interested to see more intelligent replies...
There is such a thing as a faster metabolism.... generally people who are younger, larger & more active will use up more energy than people who are older, smaller and less active.
If anything's unusual about the story it's that you're counting the calories.... you're aware of the energy you're taking on board. Many energetic people are naturally slim despite having hearty appetites.... but they just eat regularly, eat plenty, eat more when they're hungry don't clock the cals or their body-weight and stay pretty much the same size
nope i'm not overestimateing either mindla_spk, kinda wish i was i feel like a pig now.
You shouldn't feel like a pig, that's silly. Your metabolism won't always be this fast (it really is a real thing) but right now it is enjoy the chocolate when you want some and add in some healthy things everyday. I wouldn't stress about it there are too many other things to worry about.
Lucky you!!! ![]()
How old are you?
Before I turned 21 I would maintain on a LOT of cals as well, probably same as you. I was also around that weight and height and not much active except for the odd desire to exercise every once in a fortnight. You`re really lucky, I can only wish I would have known then what I know now about nutrition, and eaten more healthily - I would have been an energy bomb!
After 21, well, that was a different story, and the pounds started slowly creeping up..
And all I can say is that I`m definitely NOT looking forward to menopause. ._.
i'm 19, i really wanna get healthy, work-out and be happy. rather than in a couple of years end up having high pressure or something like that. so i have made a committment to swimming which i signed myself up for yesterday. so hopefully i will do this religiously.
Figured, enjoy your insanely fast metabolism while it lasts! :) And don`t forget to up your cals if you`re exercising regularly. It might be hard for you to get your head around to it at first, but it`s the healthy thing to do, and your body (which is still growing btw) will thank you for it.
