What's the best weight loss advice you've gotten? Stick with it, and drink plenty of water.
What is your montra/motto? I'm in charge. I make the choices.
What do you tell yourself to stay modivated? I don't want to hobble around at 40. I will get diabetes and heart disease if I keep gaining weight. I'll have to have a hip replaced by 50. Think of how good I'll look. (Depends on the moment as to which is most helpful. There are more, but I won't bore everyone.)
What is it all for? Are you doing it for your health? A cute bikini? Your kids? My health is the biggest reason, definately. However, our family is probably going to DW in early June, and I really want to be comfortable on the plane and on rides. (I LOVE rides.) Then, I would like to be at my goal by the fall for my 15 year class reunion. If I'm gonna do it for health, I figure it doesn't hurt to add vanity! LOL

I've lost 59 lbs.
My best advice has been to eat lots of low carb veggies, 5 to 7 servings per day.
To stay motivated I tell myself to not look back, if I messed up yesterday it doesn't matter today, look forward.
It's all for my health, my appearance, and my kids. Kids and health are related, I want to stay healthy for them and for me, I want to know my grandchildren.. Appearance has to do with wanting to be noticed, to be taken seriously. Like when I said I'd help coach my kids' soccer team and was completely ignored, obviously *I* wasn't capable of that given my large size (I played years of soccer as a child.) Oh, also I don't wanted to be limited physically and to be uncomfortable in general, in clothes, climbing stairs, standing up off the floor, etc.

While you're out looking for your abs, Anthony, would you mind keeping an eye out for my toes...haven't seen them in a while ;)

This is a very frustrating time for me, I've never been on a diet before and I've never tried to exercise before. (two firsts at once). I was 100% convinced that if I wanted to lose the weight that I could and that would be that.
I was SO WRONG! It's not so easy at all. This is gonna be a hard journey for sure. My goal is to lose 55 pounds and gain probably 15 to 20 worth of muscle as I've lost alot of it. It's been 10 years since I was happy with what I saw in the mirror. I did this to see what would happen. I think I'm on the right track so far. But I've got a long way to go. Here comes trial & error with the foods I choose!

I remember when I first started down this path...lot's of frustration, lot's of emotions and behaviours that I didn't want to face. It's now 52 pounds later and it's getting a bit easier with every pound. I've got another 50 or so to go with same goal as you, to put on some more muscle when I get down there.
I wish you lots of success and if you're feeling frustrated or need a bit of motivation, make sure you visit the forums here. Support from the CC community has made a world of difference and helped me get over some of my tougher hurdles.
